Gordon Ramsay Burger is Gordon's newest restaurant in London, it is located on the Fourth Floor of the high-end Harrods department store, it fits in really well, the restaurant looks good, despite it being located in another store, you can tell they've spent some time and effort in making the place look good, despite difficult circumstances and restrictions.
As you'd expect from Gordon Ramsay x Harrods, the food is pretty expensive here, the layout feels more like an American diner than the high-end prices. Prices start at £21 and that's without fries and the service charge which is added onto the end of every bill, which meant my bill came to £30.25.
The staff seemed polite, although they weren't too attentive, no one came up to check on me during my meal, which at the prices they charge is pretty inexcusable, they also failed to bring over the mayonnaise I asked for, to go with my fries, it's like they weren't even trying to justify the service charge.
I was told they were able to make my good gluten-free, as long as I ordered without the bun, this wasn't ideal but I did go for it. It would have been nice if they replaced the bun with something, such as a lettuce wrap.
My burger didn't taste good at all, I don't even think it appeared to be too appetising with cold onions and no sauce on the burger, the meat was slightly chewy and it wasn't the quality you'd expect from a prestigious chef like Gordon Ramsay at all. Strangely, they didn't even ask how I wanted it cooked... again not what you'd expect from a place with burger in its' name.
The chips were fine, they were slightly bland, but they were edible, I did like the homemade tomato ketchup which came with them.
I've been to chain burger joints which were better than this, I get the price is high-end but I'm happy to pay it for good food and good service, sadly neither seemed to be good on this occasion and I left disappointed and hungry. 1*
