A neighborhood pub that cooks like a chef’s playground—think Boursin-topped Gordo’s Burger or a kimchi‑and‑egg mashup. Cincinnati Magazine highlighted its heft and creativity; locals come for huge patties and a deep beer list.

Google
We came across this dining suggestion while watching reels on Instagram. Since we’re always looking for a new place to eat and love to support local businesses, we decided to give it a try! The menu includes a large variety of gourmet hamburgers. I decided to try the hangover burger and was not disappointed. The size of the burger almost required it to be cut in half. It had excellent flavor. We also had the fish tacos and the grilled chicken sandwich. The service was great along with a laid-back atmosphere. They have plenty of TVs on the wall to catch local sports if interested. Our server did an excellent job! We will definitely stop by again!

Google
Known for the burgers. First time visiting. Wide variety of burgers with many different combinations of toppings, including PB&J. personally, I found the extremely thick beef patty hard to take a bite that included the toppings. It was so big you almost had to bite the top and then the bottom. I'd prefer a large thin beef patty to enjoy the full flavor all together. Great atmosphere and great atmosphere.

Google
Relaxed, dimly lit bar atmosphere with plenty of dining space. I had the fried pickles and the hangover burger. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Anyone who enjoys a novel burger should check this place out.

Google
Great spot in an unassuming location. Outside looks like an old dice bar but inside is very open, welcoming and friendly. Burgers are amazing and the staff were great! The burger was the size (and shape) of a softball. The picture doesn't do it justice. Highly recommend and will definitely go back. Many menu items to try.

Google
Me and mine drove 45 mins to try the burgers. They looked towering and delicious but sadly they were under cooked and the most greasy burgers we’ve had. The whole burger tasted the same. Hopefully this was just a one time error because we’ve heard the burgers are really good but we were disappointed. Service was good but the atmosphere was kind of meh.

Google
It was a good experience. Server was great. Ask for Gary! The food was good too. I think I need another visit to try some more food but as of now, the Rueben was solid and the fries were a good compliment. I would dig some onion rings but that isn’t their thing.

Google
Delicious burger, thing was THICCCCC. I loved the flavor of the meat!! It was wonderful.

Mike Stoehr

Google
Good service and fair pricing on this first time visit. The three of us all tried different burgers (Hangover, Blackened, Gordo) but found them all a little dense and drier than we liked. The sandwich fixings were great along with the fries and fried pickles we also ordered. You will like the place and it is worth a try.

Yelp
It has been a few years since we had dinner at GORDO's and nothing has changed. The menu is exactly the same and the Burgers, oh the Burgers, they are every bit as good as I remembered. Service is always excellent. I remember the first time I was here about 15 years ago. From the outside GORDO's doesn't look like much, but it is cozy inside and the burgers are spectacular. It is only about 3 blocks from Xavier University and I have always seen families with young kids there too.

Yelp
Amazing! Outside dinning is so relaxing. Burgers were cooked to perfection and the PBJ is something special. Don't walk run!

Yelp
Dive bar/neighborhood vibes. Nothing fancy but burgers are excellent. Mexican burger was layered with sweet ham, jalepenos, a cilantro mayo, and a THICC patty. Grab a beer and burger and you won't be disappointed

Yelp
Went to the cider yelp event nearby and came here at the suggestion of my son from reddit. Burgers were huge! Fried pickles spears and pork bell tacos were excellent. My IPA burger was very good. I would have liked more cheese fondue on it. My son got the same burger and my wife got the French burger. This was all of our first times and left happy and satisfied.

Yelp
We started off on the patio out back & enjoyed the sunshine till the cool chased us inside. But as a first time patron, this was nice to experience the outside and inside experience! Inside was larger than I had expected from street view and side parking lot view! Our waitress was great in answering my menu questions, explaining my options, and she gave good check-in care without interrupting our table conversation. The GFAT burger was delicious with pulled pork, boq sauce, bacon, cheese, crispy onions on top of my beef patty! Rather than fries I upgraded to a "small" (the portion was very generous) of the pear, walnut, & bleu cheese salad. That pink dressing was so fresh & citrusy! Sweet tea was most definitely super sweet. On my repeat trip, l'd like to try the poached pear grilled cheese & substitute in cheddar rather than brie.

Yelp
It's places like this, that give you hope for America. The delight that you receive from the gloriously towering burgers to the wonderfully charming staff, (Ashland and Wendy for example!) make you want to make that extra drive to have a piece of yesteryear quality and character that only a rustic pub like this can deliver...only when the owner, chef and staff line it all up with a commitment to joy in heart and on the table. Great steaks are like great men, the best ones have a little fat on them, and this burger meat has the perfect balance. The Wallendas Bros. would be proud. Ashland is so energetic the Energizer Bunny sends her hate mail. I like her.

Yelp
If you didn't know Gordo's Pub & Bar was in Norwood on Montgomery Road across from the library, you'd pass it and never see it. The outside is extremely unassuming. Once you walk in, however, you're greeted with a nicely updated bar/restaurant. The tables are solid and include a mix of traditional tables and high tops. Our server was extraordinary. She was very helpful and always had a smile. She really made the dining experience special. She guided us to the Mushroom appetizer, which was unexpected and absolutely delicious. I didn't read the description and was expecting standard fried mushrooms. I was SO wrong! The dish was a fantastic mixture of mushrooms and cheese served with thin sliced baguettes. I highly recommend this dish! The server also recommended getting a burger, explaining they are known for their burgers. I opted for the IPA Burger with fries. The fries were thick cut and tasty, with just the right amount of salt. All of our burgers were massive. We asked for recommendations on how to attack eating it. Our server explained the approach is very personal and everyone does it differently. After a quick try of eating my burger in the traditional way, I opted to cut it up with a knife and fork. It was simply too big and the juiciness of the burger rendered the bun quite wet. For me, cutting it up was the way to go. The beer selection is as large as their burgers. I didn't ask if they had any non-alcoholic options (there were none on the menu). We generally stick with water or tea, so it wasn't really an issue. That said, if you enjoy a beer with you burger, there are plenty to choose from. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
I'm always up for a good burger, so my wife and I decided to try this place out. Unfortunately, we had a rather poor experience. We were seated quickly and had a quick look at the menu. We decided to splurge on an appetizer, and the egg rolls sounded quite tasty. My wife opted for a beer as well. Honestly most of the burgers sounded good, but I landed on the Korean and she got the Jean Robert. The egg rolls were brought out probably ten minutes later. We dove right in, and both agreed that they were good, but not spectacular. They were crispy, but under-seasoned. The flavor was improved with the soy sauce and pickled onions that came alongside the dish, but still it seemed to lack a little something. We gave them 3 stars. As for the burgers, there were a couple red flags. First, I ordered mine cooked medium, and my wife went to order medium rare, but the waitress warned us that their burgers "tend to run a bit more rare." This essentially means that the cook doesn't know how to cook them properly. The second red flag was how the burgers looked. The patties were probably 2-3 inches thick. Not only did this mean they weren't wide enough for the bun, and they were too tall to eat effectively, but that, as anticipated, they were not cooked correctly. After a bite or two into the burger, I noticed it was very red, fully rare in parts. Though the burger was so thick that in other parts it was well done and even burnt. I've never had a burger that was both overcooked to char and undercooked, practically raw. My wife had the exact same quality of cooking on her burger. On top of that, the Korean burger featured a sriracha mayo--tasty but very sparse--pork belly--burnt to being dry and unchewable--and a fried egg that was undercooked and included viscous raw egg white. Finally, almost everything was bland and unsalted. The fries were a bit under-seasoned, but mostly fine. Our server was present and attentive until we received our burgers, at which point she was gone for 20-30 minutes, which left us waiting a while to get the check.

Yelp
A dive bar with amazing burgers. Parking lot next to the restaurant. Good service. This will be my new go-to place for burgers. The patties are thick and the toppings are unique. Steak cut fries were fresh and crispy. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fabulous bar with great food! Visited this little gem with my wife and son to try the burgers based on other reviews. Started with a small conversation with their friendly staff. Nice folks! We went with the risotto balls for an appetizer and they were an awesome choice. I had the Gordo burger. My son went with the Gfat and my wife went with the shrimp tacos. All of us were happy with the choices. My wife loved the homemade corn chips. My burger was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fries were also great. Looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Don't do it. Greasy food, dry burgers, the worst fries. Terrible ambiance. Expensive for what it is. 2 stars for offering sides of vegetables.

Yelp
It's been a while since we've been to Gordo's so tonight was the night. We seated quickly and drink orders were taken. We decided on egg rolls for an appetizer. There were three to the order. They were kind of greasy but tasted good with or without the dipping sauce. They were heavy on the ground beef, just like the menu stated, and we were able to complete them before our burgers arrived. I had the Hangover burger and my wife had the Gordo's burger. I forgot just how large they were. These are NOT for the smashed burger crowd. Each burger is more like a giant meatball on a bun. They were cooked exactly as we ordered. When it comes to burgers, that is surprisingly rare. Medium rare in this case, ha! I had fries with mine. They were steak fries. Thick, but cooked crispy. I usually don't like steak fries, but the crispiness made them worthwhile. My wife has macaroni and cheese, for an upcharge. I didn't taste it, but she was quite pleased and she's not that easy to please when it comes to mac n cheese. Overall, a decent meal, it set us back $50 before tip, for 2 burgers, one appetizer, and one soft drink. A little more than we're used to spending on burgers. The price is the only thing that kept it from being 5 stars.

Yelp
Gordo's is known for their burgers, so on a day when I needed to grab a quick meal to go I went to grab a burger! I had their Korean Burger and it was delicious - topped with pork belly, kimchi and a runny egg, it was an incredibly messy burger. Get lots of napkins! It was definitely worth the mess. I also got the fries which were pretty good but average. I typically do not like crinkle cut fries but these were better than the average crinkle cut fry. My one feedback about the burger is that they are too tall, which makes the burger hard to eat. I would flatten them a little bit more to make it a more average looking burger. Otherwise I would definitely a burger from Gordos!

Yelp
Killer burger, great service, with a little slice of Americana on the side. To the other reviewers who rated it low become the burgers are "too fat": go to a "gastro-pub" where everyone is judging everything, preoccupied trying to find the perfect burger-beer "pairing! Gag. Burger too thick: smash it yourself! And the fries were as good as I've ever had anywhere: crispy on the outside, perfectly done on the inside. As close to genuine pomme frites as I have had at a burger joint. Dang, I sound like one of those gastro-pub clowns. Get over here, smash it yourself and expect to be satisfied at this real burger joint!
google avatar

Yelp
Really glad to find this gem! Just looking for a random place in town to meet a friend for a quick lunch during the middle of the week. Service here was great and it was very inviting. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is definitely a local and very inviting place. I had Gordo's burger which was not disappointing at all. Fries were good and I definitely got my money's worth. It's definitely a place I would return for a quick lunch or just to meet up with friends for some drinks and food. Definitely enjoy that small town feel and all of the good pub food. Definitely what I was looking for!

Yelp
Gordos in the hole in the wall burger spot that you didn't know you needed. With thick, unique, and tasty burgers. Thick cut fries come standard. There are so many great burger combos to try, but you need to try either the GFat or the simple PBJ. Across their menu you'll find other sneaky good options like the tacos or the pear salad, but the burgers are the core of why you seek out Gordos. Service can be a little slow, especially when it gets busy, but you can often find this place to be fairly open unless it's a Xavier game day. Helpful to know: Park to the left side of the building in the odd looking lot. The right side of the building parking is owned by a different building/business. On nice days, see if you can sit in the back patio. It's a little oasis from the noisy of Norwoods main drag.

Yelp
This place is a gem...... came here the other night before crosstown shootout... would never expect the inside to look like it did from the outside... hence the term never judge a book by its cover !!!..... Although there were so many selections of different burgers, with it being my first time I played it safe going with their staple "The Gordo Burger"..... If your gunna put the name of the restaurant on that burger its gotta be good.... Let me tell you, It definitely did not disappoint.... And honestly I dont think I would have been disappointed with any burger there... we sat directly in front of the food window and every burger that came out of there looked like work of art!!!... My Burger was super juicy and flavorful with a bunch of unique toppings that all complimented one another very well (Boursin cheese, bacon, mushroom, onion and Roasted Poblano pepper). Lastly, The Thick Steak fries cooked piping hot the way they should be !!.... We have found a new favorite burger spot!! I will definitely be back to try all the other burgers!!!

Joseph M.

Yelp
So we were not impressed. The half pound burger was overcooked and the steak fries were steamed at best. Food was hot but cooked poorly. The burger turned into one large tough dry meatball on a bun, not good. There are many burger places that do this correctly, clearly the chef wasn't in this day. Sad.

Yelp
Went for lunch during a work trip, and you better brace yourself. You will be full when you leave and I just wanted to take a nap. I got the hangover burger, and it was pretty tasty. Hard to eat, but delicious. I had to smush my burger down, and I still couldn't fit it in my mouth lol. Had sausage and bacon with onion strings and a few kinds of cheese. I think they could flatten the burger more, and my co workers said the same thing. The fries we had we not the same as other pictures which was a little odd. We had crinkle cut, but other pictures showed regular cut. I don't know if they're from the grocery store or what, but it's odd. The ambiance was just a typical bar. Nothing to be desired, but the burgers are.

Yelp
OH MY GOODNESS!! The BEST hamburgers ever!! Creative and delicious! And let's not forget the Saratoga chips which are as delicious! Great place for lunch, dinner or to get a beer with friends!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Got the special service because I got there early and spoke with the gentleman that would be preparing my food. Was there before opening and he was outside. Cool 1930s bar. Good selection of beers and I could have none because of my medical issues. I'll return when I can Waiter/bartender was constantly moving and recommended a great burger. The bar's namesake. Try one I enjoyed the one had
google avatar

Yelp
If you are looking a great burger, the burgers are the best. The staff is super friendly.

Yelp
I was out and about running errands and needed a place for lunch. SO glad I looked on Yelp and found this little spot. I was starving so I ordered the "Hangover Burger"... I'm still trying to figure out if it's called this because you're supposed to eat it when you're hungover, or if it's called the hangover because it makes you feel like you have one LOL It came with Smoked Gouda, Smoked Sausage, Cheddar, Canadian Bacon, American Cheese, Smoked Bacon, Onion Strings, and Chipotle BBQ Mayo!! I was very close to finishing the burger, didn't really touch my fries...they weren't great. Burger was amazing though and it'd be a cool spot to grab a drink sometime too- especially when it's warmer out and you can sit out back!
google avatar

Michael K.

Yelp
Have you ever ordered a $15 dollar burger at restaurant and then regretted it when the plate hit your table? Yeah me too, but this is not that place. Picture a super juicy burger in shape of a tuna can with piled with the best ingredients and perfect amount of sauce. This is that place. The place you judge all other burgers you eat against. It's like if 5 guys went gourmet in a unassuming bar. Great bar atmosphere with sports tvs with an even better patio in the not so shady part of Norwood. Nice servers but but don't expect the best burger in town to be fast food. So order the jalapeño poppers and a craft beer and wait for the goodness to come to you. Cheers

Yelp
I have been to Gordo's several times and it is always fantastic. On a night when the newly opened Ford's Garage had a 2 hour wait, we took a short drive to Gordo's. We had no wait and and I had one amazing burger and pretty great service as well! Gordo's also has a pretty amazing craft beer list. One of the better offerings I have found in Cincinnati. Gordo's easily has the best burgers I have found in Cincinnati! Don't miss this place!!
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
It was fine. More like a meatball on a bun than a great burger. I really wanted to like it but it was much too rare in the middle so eating it was tough. I would give it another try but so far my experience at Zips and Turf club are ahead of the game.
google avatar

Patrick P.

Yelp
Everything about this place sounds good but this day it just wasn't there. This was our first visit and would say our overall impression was it was just ok. Service was the best part of our experience, it was friendly and fast. The floors were sticky and the place smelled musty. The menu sounded great but our food was extremely greasy and overcooked. Would give it another shot but maybe not our style. The best part of the food was the Saratoga chips.
google avatar

carly g.

Yelp
The food was great! I totally forgot i was here around a year ago and remember getting their reuben and loving it. yesterday we had fried pickles, chips and salsa and a chicken quesadilla. Everything was hot, quick, and the service was amazing! Will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
I feel the way about burgers that most people feel about pizza. I'm borderline obsessed. I could eat a burger every day. So, when I say a burger is good? It means something. And Gordon's burgers are GOOD. like out of this world good. Like nowhere else in the city good. So far, I've tried the gfat, the French, the John Robert, and the PBJ. They are all so tasty in their own way. I could go on and on, but you'll just want to go and try them for yourself, so do that instead.
google avatar

Em J.

Yelp
Quick trip to visit nephew and he suggested this college student favorite. Food was great, service was excellent. Restroom (singular) for women one toilet so close to the wall that a person must sit sideways as the leg does not fit between the wall and toilet. Husband reported that men's lavatory had 2 spaces, a urinal as well as a toilet. As usual... the pink tax in effect ... but in a drinking establishment?
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
Great little neighborhood bar/restaurant and we had never been here before. Very friendly atmosphere, I had 2 craft beers (they have 45 or 50 listed on the back of the menu.) We shared an order of fried pickle spears--huge. I had the soup of the day-black bean. Plus the Gordo burger (you can substitute, so I got American cheese instead of boursin.) As others have mentioned, burger patties are more round than flat, but very tasty. So many fries, I had to take some home. Service was very friendly and attentive. Scope this place out for a great burger experience.
google avatar

Kerri E.

Yelp
Found this via yelp, probably would have not noticed it otherwise. It's a stand-alone older building across the street from the library. Parking lot to the left of the building. Enclosed patio at the back. Server was great, friendly and attentive. Food was good. Quite a large options of drinks. Burger was made to order and comes with fries. Food was reasonably priced Was glad to find this little gem.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Three and a three quarter stars may be more realistic. It was good, but not over the moon good. The burger itself is like a giant meatball, which looks impressive, but honestly it makes it kid of hard to eat. The burger itself had no seasoning on it. I tried a piece of it on its own, and there was no salt or pepper. I got the French burger, and the toppings (Brie, applewood bacon, onion jam, spring mix, and Mayo) were great. Really nice balance and amount. Great bun. The fries were terrific. Very clean and nice interior. It looks much nicer on the inside that you think it is going to be from the outside. Very friendly wait staff. Nice little place. I would go again if in the area, but may not go out of my way to go.
google avatar

Matt D.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot. Was able to get a table with no wait on a Friday when nearby places had 45 min waits. Service was excellent. Burgers were great, asked for medium and was cooked to medium. Risotto balls were okay, a bit bigger than I would have guessed but good flavor. The Saratoga chips are fantastic. Prices super reasonable. This may be one of the hidden burger gems in the city.
google avatar

Don T.

Yelp
It's an average burger joint and that's about it...there are many better options...service is fine...the rest is uneventful at best...nothing special here...
google avatar

Yelp
We'd had this place on our list forever because it was always named one of the best burgers in town, and finally we made it there. The place was packed, so we sat at the bar. It has a fun lively divey vibe with a crowd that felt like regulars. Beer list satisfied my picky husband. Sounds great, no? The problem was the burger. It was literally so big it was impossible to eat. The patty was almost round, it was so thick. I had zero chance of actually eating it as a burger without absolutely mashing it. Must have been six inches tall. Even my husband, who has a gigantic mouth, couldn't figure out how to eat this as a burger. At first we thought maybe this was just a one-off -- lots of places are having problems staying staffed, maybe this was just a newer cook? -- but when I took a look at the burger photos here on Yelp: Nope. All the photos are of giant round meatballs on the buns, with a finished burger six inches tall. It's got to be a half-pound "patty", but because of the shape it doesn't even go to the edge of the bun. This apparently is what people are visiting this place for and raving over. These burgers literally have to be mashed in order to be edible by a normal human being. I may try it one more time to give it a chance with me going in expecting this strange burger shape. But I cannot figure out why anyone would think of this as a good thing.
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
One of the best burgers I've ever had. Period. The French burger with brie, sweet onion jam and bacon were the most excellent toppers to a perfectly cooked medium burger. (I'm salivating just thinking about it.) Steak fries on the side, (the best kind if fry, imho) were outstanding. Slightly on the well done side and salty. A perfect ketchup delivery vehicle! We went to Gordos in mid afternoon to avoid a crowd and we were the only patrons in the place. Can't wait to get back for another dose!

C W.

Yelp
Both the bar service and the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. My nephew loves the PBJ burger. I had the House cheeseburger. It was cooked perfectly but it is basically a large meatball on a bun. Not my kind of burger. It was very dense and hard to eat. If I return I'll try something else besides a burger as their menu looked very good.
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
I heard alot of good things about the place. I put in an order after looking at the menu online. Once I placed the order I was told a price, gow ever the math wasn't mathing. Long story short. I was to the prices went up and was not honored the online price. I kind of understand. However the quality of the food was questionable. Small portion on the chicken sandwich and the ceaser salad was not good at all. Curstini's wasn't even toasted on the salad. So much for croutons. Won't be returning.
google avatar

Yelp
Gordo's! You never leave me disappointed! This place is a gem. Still has the small town comfy feel of a well established restaurant that knows their clientele and knows what they excel at. Pub food, pub food, pub FOOD. You won't lose weight eating a Gordo's- that's for certain. But hey, that's not why you go to a burger joint now is it. You will have no regrets however. Gordo's is big on leaving you satisfied and their flavor combos are unique yet not too over the top. Try something new, study the menu, take a bite of your friend's burger. Don't miss out on the opportunity to let your taste buds enjoy and while your at it, tip the staff well- you can tell they love working for a great place like this! P.s. Great beer selection too!!
google avatar

Yelp
Craft burger and craft beer restaurant tucked away in the heart of Norwood. If you dont like burgers there are other options. My wife ordered the French Burger that came cooked to order with brié cheese bacon greens and bacon. She loved it. I had the pub burger which was their classic cheese burger. They spice the burger with their social spice and it automatically comes with fries. We each had a craft beer. They have many local as well as others. You can also order your classic buds or whatever. Our waitress was very polite and efficient. The burgers were large and you definitely get what you pay for. I recommend this place to any burger lover in Cincinnati seeking the perfect burger.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly recommend the Gordo with a MadTree Amber beer. All kinds of good! I could have little bit bigger of a burger though. Although I am a bottomless pit.
google avatar

Michelle G.

Yelp
Gordo's is the quintessential dive bar and I say that in the best way possible. Being a Xavier alum, my friends and I would grab burgers there when we wanted a delicious meal off campus. Most recently, I went with my fiancé so he could experience the deliciousness. We started with the pork belly nachos- they were good, but next time I would like to try a different appetizer. As for the burgers I went for the French and he had the Gfat. The shape of Gordo's burger patties are super unique- they are almost in a meatball-like shape. We both thoroughly enjoyed our burgers. I would highly recommend checking them out for a great burger.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a burger this is the place to go. I'd rank their burgers right up there with Terry's and way better than Zip's, which aren't my favorite. The place isn't much to look at and my husband almost wanted to leave from the looks of it outside until I reassured him the restaurant had good reviews. We went for a late weekday lunch, so were some of only a few customers and had prompt service. I got the Gordo burger and my husband, the IPA. The burgers looked a little strange, shaped like a ball instead of a patty, but were cooked all the way through. We both loved the chargrilled flavor and toppings. We also had the Mixed Mushroom appetizer, which is a huge pot of melted cheese and mushrooms with pieces of bread for dipping. Super delicious and plentiful.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurant i've been to in norwood! When i first came in i was greeted with a smile and immediately seated. I loved the dim lighting and chill vibe. For an appitizier i got the stuffed japlenõs and it was filling and yummy. Then for my main dish I ordered the IPA burger substituted with the black bean patty, crinkle fries, and a side of sirracha mayo. The fries had this flavorful seasoning and paired well with the mayo. The burger was cooked well too, it came with lettuce, tomato, and mushrooms. A lot of places can't make a good vegetarian burger so i was happy to say the least. I will definitely be making another visit.

Yelp
Our last visit to Gordo's was good, but not as good as I remembered. Our food took a long time, and my burger was overdone. Anything can happen once, so I'm not dinging the place too much. It's definitely a neighborhood kind of place - casual to a fault. The burgers are big, sometimes difficult to get cooked just right and kind of hard to eat. This may not sound like a 4 star review, but Gordos has a lot going for it, and I highly recommend you check it out for yourself. It might be exactly the kind of divey-burger-joint you are looking for!

Yelp
Gordo's Pub & Grill is an often overlooked spot in the heart of Norwood, at least it has been by yours truly. Located less than 10 minutes from our house, my family finally stopped in for dinner after living in the area for the last five years. Don't let the small street-front building deter you from stopping in, there is plenty of room in the long and shotgun style building. A large bar is the first thing you seen when entering the front door, but Gordo's is truly family friendly and has a handful of items on a kids menu. I started with a generous and tasty pear and blue cheese salad with spring mix, walnuts, and a tangy raspberry vinaigrette ($2 upgrade substitution for fries with sandwich or $8 alone). This salad was well worth the up-charge to replace the standard fries and is a must when visiting Gordo's. One of our kids enjoyed the macaroni and cheese with broccoli ($5). Truthfully an older kid might like more than the four florets of broccoli provided, but this was plenty for our three-year-old. I stole a bite or two and this is above average macaroni and cheese. Our five-year-old went with the cheeseburger and fries ($5). The burger was plenty big enough and the side of fries was more than an adult could tackle. Word of warning, the burger comes topped with lettuce and tomato, so be sure to request without if you have a picky eater. Burgers are what has made Gordo's somewhat famous. My wife was happy to see that any of their signature burgers can be made vegetarian by substituting a black bean patty. She chose the Gordo with roasted poblanos, mushrooms, onions, bacon, Boursin cheese, and mayonnaise. Wow, was this a great burger! It put my chicken salad sandwich to shame, though that was still a good sandwich. Take it from me (and every other table) you must get a burger when dining at Gordo's. Prices are good and servings are plentiful. We will be back!

Yelp
Rating restaurants in the pandemic is a subjective exercise. Take carry out for example. Whose to say how good food is if you have a bit of a drive home and you reheat. Or how good is boxed or wrapped food once you unwrap. An expensive meal sloppily boxed or wrapped can quickly screw up how food looks and tastes. Kind of like great pizza that turns kind of ugh once it gets cold. Therefore I am pleased to report a recent experience with Gordo's. Gordo's is a great little nondescript bar restaurant in Norwood famous for their burgers. The four of us decided to make this a burger day. We ordered a range of 8 oz. specialty burgers. We were 15 minutes by car. Picked up the boxed burger right on time in two large plastic bags. Once home was struck by how well they had survived the journey. Almost perfect. And they were delicious. I had the pub burger....high end beef, onions, tomato and cheese. Classic burger. The fancier burgers looked great and tasted exceptional as well. Thanks Gordo's!
