Gordo's Taqueria

Staff was extremely nice. We got there right at open and they were still cooking, so wait was a bit long. She brought us free chips and guac and a drink to try because of the wait. Excellent service! Food was great. Fresh, flavorful, and vibrant. No complaints.

Excellent food! The carnitas were tasty, warm, soft; just perfect. Beautiful art on the walls and original hand made tiles that are gorgeous. Very kind and attentive staff. This is definitely a standout in the myriad taco/burrito/quesadilla places in Nashville.

Our family is so happy to see Gordo’s set roots down in Nashville after having been frequent customers in California for many years. We have now made the Nashville location our regular go to place for lunch and dinner. We have tried many of the menu items but highly recommend the carnitas burrito (carnitas anything really), as their carnitas is simply amazing. Everything is so yummy, fresh and plentiful. Let’s support this family owned business and if you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting them yet, head on down to give Gordo’s a hearty howdy and genuine Nashville welcome! You won’t be disappointed.

My friend and I came in wanting to try Gordo’s Taqueria for the first time and ordered burrito bowls. When I asked for chicken, I was shown two options: shredded chicken in a thick sauce and grilled chicken sitting in a brothy liquid that looked very unappetizing. I decided to give it a chance and continued ordering, but I was already put off,especially after seeing the premade guacamole, which also didn’t look fresh or appealing. We sat down, took one bite, and immediately wanted to spit it out. My friend had the exact same reaction. There was absolutely no flavor—just bland, mushy food that tasted like slop. As a Latina, this was far from authentic Mexican cuisine. We threw the food away after one bite and walked out. The staff watched us leave and didn’t say a word, which made it seem like they’re already aware of the food quality. Overall, it was a complete waste of money and not a place I would recommend.

Gordo’s Taqueria is my new favorite spot in Wedgewood Houston! The crispy tacos are perfect - fresh ingredients and not oily. The plates and bowls are by far better than Chipotle! My fiancé had an all meat burrito and said that it was the best he’s ever eaten. If you want great food, Gordo’s is a sure bet.

I went here during Nashville's Taco Week. The tacos (one chorizo and one steak) were some of the best I've had and voted for them to win. They are also such nice people and welcoming. The environment was fun and bright and they even have seating outside. Can't wait to go back!

Tony is the man. This place is absolutely amazing. The burritos are authentic with an amazing tortilla. The steak and chicken are fresh along with all the ingredients that are used as toppings. Pico, guac, cilantro, onions, verde salsa, etc. service was amazing and extremely welcoming staff. Please go!!!! They also have a great reward program!

Grew up going to Gordo’s in the Bay Area- was thrilled to see this location delivers the same excellent quality and flavor! Classic Bay Area Mexican food- and great margaritas! If you’re looking for Mission style burritos this is the place.

I've been to Gordo's a few times now and have tried a variety of menu items. It's been delicious and I look forward to trying out even more of their menu. Staff are so friendly and greet you upon entry. The space is full of light and the mural is super fun. The area is colorful with indoor and outdoor seating available. One hour of parking is validated if you park in the lot right in front of their restaurant. Make sure to scan the QR code to get that taken care of. At the end of the ordering counter, there is a validation QR code you can scan. I tried the super carnitas burrito. **** Comes with a 12" flour tortilla and the cheese is melted when they steam the tortilla which I had never had before. I am a super fan. Then, you can pick between pinto, black, or refried beans. I am not a beans girl so I passed on the beans. I went hard on the seasoned rice and house-made pico de gallo. Then you pick your toppings, I went with carnitas. They were nice. I think I will go with chili verde or steak next time. I also ordered the aqua frescas de Jamaica and loved it! It's super delicious and I wish I was sipping on some right now. They make their horchata in-house as well. My friend ordered the bean and cheese burrito and enjoyed it. Another friend got two burritos, chips, and guac. Everyone enjoyed their meal and would come back. On my second visit, I stopped by for Taco Week. They were offering two GT's crispy tacos for $6. These tacos aren't normally on the menu so I wanted to come and try them. My only regret-- not ordering two of each. Mash-ville***** This taco is a griddled-fried corn tortilla with melted Monterey Jack with mashed potatoes, savory chorizo, fresh pico, and light bright avocado salsa. I was so hungry that I devoured this taco. It was so tasty and yummy. I wasn't sure that I would like mashed potatoes but that combined with the chorizo was a hit. Mission***** This taco is a griddled-fried corn tortilla with Monterey Jack with carne asada, housemade guac, fresh pico, and spicy tomatillo salsa. I loved the carne asada flavor mixed with all the sides. The spicy salsa is spicy here. I always have to balance it with the guac. haha Both tacos were flavorful, fresh, and the perfect little crunch when I bit into the taco is what I live for. The amount of taco filling was perfect. I'm going to go back before taco week ends because I enjoyed it so much. Love seeing new lunch options in the area and affordable. This is a great fast casual option with great flavor. I am excited to try out a margarita in the future.
