Gosselin's Bakery

Saw that this place topped lists as the best shop in town and was recommended by hotel staff(they raved about the Boston cream). My wife picked up a wide variety for us at 7:30 in the morning. The donuts were tough like they were days old and the cake style donuts were dry. The raised donuts were also dense and chewy when they should be light. Not even the flavor stood out an any of them. If it had been just one or two I might have given them a pass but it was all 6. These were not worth stopping for. I can pick out at least a dozen shops between Kittery and Lewiston that make better.

I absolutely love this bakery! Their donuts are so fresh and light, not too sweet and super affordable! We had the chance to taste their blueberry cake donut, and I highly suggest you try them!

A friendly Bangor police officer recommended Gosselin’s so I thought I may be on the path to donut nirvana. The donuts were traditional with lemon sugar, glazed molasses and coconut all were cake style. I particularly enjoyed the glazed molasses. However, there were a few aspects I did not enjoy. One was that they were cash only, which is completely their choice, but a pain to customers in 2020. The coffee tasted more like office coffee dispensed in carafes and was just ok. Finally, while the staff was not rude, he was not particularly friendly. I left with the sense there are better donut options based on my food tour of Bangor and my summer in Maine.

My Husband picked up bread and a fww donuts there. The donuts were delicious and still good even on the next day. Made me think of traditional European donuts which are not as heavy as your typical American ones. I was satisfied with bread as well; stays fresh, and what is more important does not have this typical "chemical"smell (anti mold?) when you open the bag. And since we live nearby we'll definitely be regulars there :)

The best place to get the freshiest donuts! Their donuts are better than anywhere else, why? Because anywhere else you bite into the middle of the donut it's dry.. Gosselin's are always moist/soft texture in the middle! The Glazed Chocolate is the best followed by sugared-jelly!

Don’t forget to bring your cash. Awesome donuts with coffee make you a good day. She treated me a coffee for the first visiting.

Absolutely the best bakery around! Love the cinnamon rolls. So tasty and fresh. Get there early as they are only open limited hours but totally worth it. Cash only so be prepared.

Called on the phone to order a dozen donuts, she's complaining to me saying there's a long line and that she doesn't have time to take my order and that she is the only one there. Okay fine, understandable, been there before! I drive from Hampden to the store. I arrive there and forgot my glasses, there was no line, I told her that I wanted a dozen but I'm not familiar with the store so I'd like a variety of donuts. It's hard to see the options because I forgot my glasses and also the glass thing in the front had a glaze on it, making it harder to see. I first asked for a cinnamon sugar plain and I took a tiny bite to see if it was any good. I asked politely for her to name the options for me. She goes "I'm not going to read all of that for you!" I explained to her politely how hard it is for me to see and that this was my first time here and that it's unnecessary of her to be rude. She said "I'm not being rude, if I'm being rude then I guess I'll be rude and not take your order." Then she goes out back and gets a phone call and answers it. I'm assuming the person on the phone was asking her if she's all right and she replied "yeah I'm okay"... I get it if you were having a rough day, but I did not deserve to be treated that way. Then you had the audacity to ask for money for the one donut I got, I told her no, you can keep it. That cinnamon sugar one wasn't any good anyways, so I guess you saved me a few bucks, I can thank you for that!

The dozen doughnuts I bought were enjoyed by many . Everyone r commented on how yummy they were .I will definitely be going back soon .

Small hole in the wall in the middle of a tiny strip mall. Provides pastries to several of the local small breakfast spots. This places tries very hard and seems to be in one state of remodel after another. Service is happy and up beat. They are on the level of Frank's but much smaller scale.

I didn't find it as charming or delicious as other reviews. It's mostly donuts, at the time no cookies, and my turnover was def at least 1 day old..... but I get it. Not a very charming interior. Maybe we didn't order the right thing... the woman behind the counter was nice and answered a few questions for us

Gosselin's has not been the same since the new owners, especially with the firing of Cindy who was the heart of excellent service at Gosselin's !!! And the atmosphere and product seems to be slipping. Hopefully things will improve, used to be the best place for donuts in the area.

I am from the donut capital of the US and I can confidently say you have the best glazed donut ever!

Product is good, but the firing of Cindy was a dumbass move for sure.I will not be going back now that she is gone. Super friendly, quick service, and An asset to any business. She WAS Gosselins bakery!!

Stopped in a couple times during an extended visit to Bangor because these donuts were so good! Our favorites were the jelly and chocolate sugar donuts. And service is excellent as well :)

Extremely rude experience with the person running the shop at 0620 on 9/7/22. Our business was not appreciated. Will never return.

This is our favorite stop for breakfast, the bakery items are amazing but the real reason why it is our favorite stop is Cindy. I love going in there and seeing her smiling face, always giving great customer service.

I just want to say I love this place ,I go there every morning..but coming on Yelp is a first for me, I felt this needed to be said tho..the turnovers are to die 4 lol but the best part about gosselins is by far the nice lady named Cindy that works there . She is so sweet I love her so much...she is so nice.thank you for such a good person the world needs more like you...

Great donuts! This place in my opinion has the best donuts in that they actually taste homemade and are bigger in size then what you get from dunkin donuts. They may not have the biggest selection, but they sure have reasonably priced good eats

Gosselin's is a great place just outside of downtown Bangor to pick up a mouth-wateringly delicious blueberry turnover or strawberry filled doughnut. All of the items around roughly around a dollar, which is a steal for the size of the goods you are going to walk out with. They also have a Keurig with several selections if you're the type that can't enjoy a doughnut without a hot coffee! Seriously though, get the strawberry filled doughnut with powdered sugar on top.

Love these donuts! Used to live near Bangor and whenever I visit Maine I always make sure to get these. Love the one with the cream and jam inside! Most favorite only thing that kinda sucks is they sell out fast haha. Just shows you have great the taste and quality is

Yes they had a soft opening before thanksgiving. So much has improved and so has the service. Still run out from time to time but I guess that's good for business on there end. (Low overhead)

They always have been and remain the best Bakery in Bangor. If you haven't had their Glazed Raised Donuts you haven't lived! Always top rate quality and the whole family are just wonderful people...

Huge fan of their pastry, especially the glazed and choclate donuts. Old school quality at reasonable prices. The best!!!

Pretty good donuts. The molasses one grows on you as the authentic taste becomes more apparent with each bite. I like that the staff remembers the favorite donuts of 99% of the customers. Try the butter crunch and fruit turnovers.

I have enjoyed Gosselin's bakery since they were on Main Street and their product has always been and remains first class.
