"Whether you’re craving a big bowl of beet soup, various cured meats, or just want to pick up some quality chocolate on the way home, Gourmand Deli has it all. The shop is relatively small and can be easy to miss, but it quickly became one of my favorite delis and now I always leave here with way more than I came for. This place has all the staples: moskovskaya salami, lots of pickles, and other things like sauerkraut and turnips. They also have kvass, a fermented probiotic drink made from rye bread. The consensus on whether or not kvass is actually good is pretty split, but in case you need a chaser, kompot (a sweet fruit juice) is also a good choice." - Aida Agayeva

Google
Compact deli with imported goods and fresh foods. This deli sells made-to-order sandwiches, as well as some fresh foods made earlier. Imported packaged goods from Europe, such as sauces and baking ingredients line the shelves. Also, frozen and refrigerated foods are available. All the food is pretty reasonably priced. Checkout is pretty straightforward. The business will be closing down soon. "For Lease" signs are posted outside. If you're looking to try some imported European foods, I recommend having a look around this deli.

Micheal was amazing! My guy can be kind of blunt with his deep voice. But Micheal was so sincere and polite. Not to educated on Russian food, Micheal helped emensly. Thanks for dealing with tourists and hope to see you again. We did not mind spending at all. Was totally worth it. Btw sandwich was the bomb. Fresh thin sliced ham! Muah!

Google
Love the store, but came for the piroshki. The piroshki themselves were about average, the meat filling was almost pâté like and was pretty sparse, the rest were pretty doughey

Tried the $9.99 sandwich advertised at the door. It was pretty good! Took about 5 minutes to get but it was worth the wait. Also, $.99 canned sodas up front! The woman tending to the business is very polite. This place accepts card payment.

Google
This place is awesome. I highly recommend the box of chocolate-dipped wafer cookies. They have an exceptionally rich chocolate flavor. And if they were served in a coffee shop, you'd get one with your cappuccino and not blink an eye at paying $4.50. And you get six. Three chocolate-almond, with lovely almond pieces sprinkled on top, and three chocolate-chocolate. The chocolate-chocolate ones have this amazing thing going on in them where the wafers inside the cookie have this very thin, crispy glaze on them, almost like the sugar crust on a creme brulee. Not too heavy, and absolutely to die for. And the sausages, cheese, and other deli items are great, too! With the friendly staff and amazing selection of yummy things, I cannot highly enough recommend this place for your next dinner party or your daily nibbling.

Google
Fun little store with lots of yummy food. Good home made pickles! I had a freshly made sandwich and my wife ate a Piroshky. Both were very good.

Google
A nice, neat shop with a fair choice of goods from CIS and Eastern Europe. It is the only grocery shop where I have found lard of a very good quality.

Google
Great little store with a wonderful selection of deli meats. Very warm service, too.

Yelp
A suprising gem in this corner of San Francisco. The secret is to get a sandwich and customize your order. My favorite is getting a veal and gouda cheese sandwich in between dutch crunch slices toasted to warm perfection. Their other selection isn't as great but the sandwiches will definitely fill you up for a reasonable price. There is a current special where you can get a sandwich and chips for less than $15. Great place to grub and if you're looking for a place to sit down - try the Hearth down the street and eat your sandwich with a nice cold Heineken.

Yelp
They sell rotten food , Disgusting no dignity at all . How can u sell food like that ? Tomorrow I will call department of health and services.

Yelp
Tiny place carries a large assortment of hard-to-find Russian deli items. The lady that runs the place has a working understanding of English if you talk slow to help. Every time I'm in San Francisco, I stop in for delicious Russian candy or dried fish. This time I got some Shuba as well. (Russian herring salad "under a coat" is made of finely chopped pickled herring, eggs, beets, carrots, potatoes, and dressing. The traditional layered salad, known as shuba or seledka pod shuboĭ, takes its name from the outer layer that completely covers the salad.) Delish. Stop in its fun.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh salmon roe! Honestly I was surprised it was so fresh because it was canned. Helpful and friendly service also

Yelp
I came across this place and they have some really interesting items. Try the fresh sour cream, siberian pelemeni's and the smoked sausages. They also had a funky salt seasoning with garlic, green celery, coriander, basil, turmeric and essential oil of garlic that I bought and am curious to try. Nice place to explore.

Yelp
Cool little shop that has many European produces and sausages. Also the make a very good sandwich. The workers behind the counter is very nice and friendly. Come support this little gem.

Yelp
Pleasant little shop. I was looking for German cold cuts type. Was happy with a few purchases that I made. This woman brought out some wonderful fresh made pickles and saurkraut, got a free sample of both. They were great. I wished I could have brought some home. I had limited space. Next Time!

Christy V.

Yelp
Come here to try their Piroshki and it didn't wow me. Toasted it when I came home which I enjoyed the crunchy dough when toasted but the filling was not what I expected. Order beef cheese AMD I did not see or taste any cheese. I do love their selection in deli meat and cheese plus service is great. Overall its ok.

Yelp
don't let the size and casualness fool you - this place is more of a real deli than it seems from outside. buncha semiexotic meats & a russian-only flavor chart for the truly adventurous. $48-$50ish / lb red caviar. i got some meat piroshkis. chicken rice cheese was like chicken bog #lookthatup in a fried circle. good.

John M.

Yelp
WOW! This deli is just the best. The meat there is great and the best I have tasted. I also love how they decorated the place with Christmas ornaments. They have some really nice food such as their meat, cheese, fish, and other stuff I'm sure others will like.

Yelp
Paul is the greatest teammate on fortnite and his deli is pretty good too. Dont go anywhere else for a deli or a teammate, I don't know what else to say because that's all I have to say but good prices and good killer and reviver in the game as well.

Annie M.

Yelp
Love this place! It's my go to for dumplings, pickles, piroskis and Russian goodies! Paul is always super helpful with navigating the world of Russian delicacies!
