"This quintessential Chiemgau country inn, over 600 years old, blends tradition and modernity to delightful effect. Warm, aged wood and premium contemporary design elements are juxtaposed to make for a tasteful and comfortable setting. Headed up by Hannes Fussel, who has worked in some of Austria's finest kitchens, the team serves up dishes packed with flavour and personality that are very much inspired by the Chiemsee region. The set menu (aptly named "A Stroll through Chiemgau") features, for example, a deeply aromatic combination of steamed onions stuffed with a sweet-and-spicy onion purée, wafer-thin slices of king oyster mushroom, pearl onions and a full-bodied onion jus with XO sauce made from locally caught fish and shellfish. Diners can opt to have a four- or six-course format of the menu, with wine pairings available on request. Alternatively, there is the second restaurant, Westerndorfer Stube.
