"The name notwithstanding, the sight of a woman (and it is always a woman) in the window kneading dough, stuffing it and frying it on a curved pan announces that the specialisation of this cafe is gözleme. It’s possible to eat in, but these are ideally consumed in a hurry walking up and down the Lanes — fresh and piping hot from the pan, burning the tops of impatient mouths. Most gözleme are keenly priced at £2 to £2.50 depending on the stuffing, and it’s difficult to go wrong with spinach and cheese, potato, or minced meat. The real steal here, though, is takeaway manti — fingernail-sized dumplings filled with minced meat, that can be bought frozen by the kilo. These will provide sustenance for several meals, with the mere addition of garlic yoghurt and chilli butter: a lazy chef’s dream." - Jonathan Nunn

Would like to support those guys by adding my 5 cents. Food was simply great, didn't expect I can get such a delicate minced meat with feta cheese. Had decent amount of spiciness, which I always like but you can choose from other options too. Everything was freshly prepared, some gozleme are ready to be fried but from what I've seen they make them when demand increases. Very good humus on the side too, could be a little bit more, don't think that's enough for every bite. Bulgur salad with coriander and onions was tasty and refreshing, worked well as a additional flavour for already great meal. And those grenade red seeds, so good. They do 10% off for NHS staff, thank you.

There are many gozleme places in this general area so the competition is quite stiff. Although there are places with bigger portions (some a bit obscenely so), this gozleme place has a greater variety of options and customisations regarding the type of meat, cheese and veggies, as well as very welcomed spicy options. Another welcomed addition from this place is the fact that they serve the gozleme with a light bulgur salad that has coriander, red onion, and sumac, as well as a dollop of humous. This acidic sides do a great job in cutting through the heavier and fattier gozleme. I tried the spicy chicken and cheese gozleme and I found it flavourful and with a bit of heat, perhaps the lamb one would have been a better choice to appreciate the whole flavour range. The staff is always offering samples to passersby and act as very good promoters of their wares.

I found these guys at the Cutty Sark street food festival. They were making delicious food and offered a sample. I got the chicken, potato, and cheese gözleme with sides. Delicious, well seasoned chicken accompanied crunchy potatoes. We sat by the river to eat and enjoyed a leisurely lunch! Would buy again!
