Grace & Disgrace

Had a wonderful experience for the first time at Grace & Disgrace! Ralph, the owner, was so accommodating and friendly to talk to! He also told us about his other business selling gourmet clear ice and even sent me home with some. You can tell he and his business partner have spent a lot of time to craft the menu and each item is special to them. My friend and I loved this place and will definitely be back!

Absolute gem. Bespoke hospitality at its finest - the owner, Ralph, was so warm and welcoming - he has infused so much of his personal life into the concept of grace & disgrace, from the menu to the decor. We felt like family. The cocktails/mocktails are works of art (my pink moon was incredible, my sister noted the old fashioned was the best she ever had -!). The food is a lovely accent to the cocktails. The standouts: the lamb was incredible, the bread pudding dessert was fantastic. This is perfect for a unique, personalized evening out. Treat yourself!!

Must see hidden gem in downtown Rochester! Innovative drinks are exquisite. Styled ice added to cocktails is an impressive touch. Tapas-style food is delectable. Can’t stop recommending to people. Ralph, owner and bartender, is a delight and very engaging. Run, don’t walk!

Simply wonderful. Our evening (unfortunately no walk ins - reservation only) started with a hot towel and a friendly chat with our host/bartender/establishment co-owner about the menu. I ordered their signature Old Fashioned cocktail, a fantastic twist on my favorite drink that elevated a basic drink beyond what I could have ever done myself - seriously, if you like Old Fashioneds you have to try it - along with a few other cocktails on the menu. While they have beer and the makings for other classic drinks, the drink menu they have is finely tuned and diverse to accommodate all different tastes so do yourself a favor and stick to it. For food we ordered the Lamb Pops (wow, perfectly seasoned and seared) and Wagyu Dumplings with a chocolate fudge brownie for dessert. The food was delicious but portions are meant to complement the drinks, not to be the main course. I have been to many fine dining establishments in town and when I read about this place in passing I was surprised that I had not heard of it earlier. The atmosphere was intimate and cozy, seating no more than 15-20 at a time. Our host was happy to chat about the menu as well as his day job making specialty craft ice (see photo) for restaurants across WNY. Our only regret was not learning about this place earlier. We will certainly be returning.

We knew we were in for a terrific evening when we entered the cozy and inviting Grace & Disgrace. Megan & Ralph have obviously poured their hearts and souls into the cocktail and small plate menus they create. The food was perfectly prepared and so flavorful. My request to veganize a dish was graciously honored, highlighting their stellar hospitality. My husband raved about the "next level" Ricotta & Honey ice cream and had me rethinking my committment to being a vegan! Sitting at the bar was an extra treat, giving us a front row seat to Megan's deft mixing skills. Our daughter declared the Old Fashioned and NY Sour the best they'd ever had! Grace & Disgrace will be on our "Must Do" list whenever we visit Rochester.

I've now been here a few times and I really think they have the best cocktails. Megan is super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable and does a great job making suggestions. Also...the ice is super fun; perfectly clear and plays tricks with your eyes.

Grace and Disgrace is the most premiere experience in the greater Rochester area. I’ve lived here for about seven years and have been to various different locations that tried to capture the atmosphere Grace and Disgrace has established however they’ve each fallen short in some way. G&D mixes personality, vibes, passion, and class in the perfect bundle. Everything ranging from the drinks to food was perfect. I don’t think anywhere else I’ve been to in Rochester could possibly match the experience I’ve had here. In a way, I feel like I’ve been to Grace and Disgrace before although it was my first time. That’s how well the atmosphere they’ve cultivated has felt. I will make sure to come here as much as I can for every occasion. Thank you guys. It’s been amazing!
