Where to Drink Guinness in Central Florida This Holiday Season | Eater

"Lake County’s best spot for getting together with old friends or out-of-town visitors this holiday season is Grace O’Malley’s, where live music plays almost every night, and a long menu of authentic Irish food awaits. Appreciate the fact that you can still watch music outside with Christmas lights surrounding you, with only a light jacket and a Guinness required to keep you warm. If you need a little more sustenance, order Gracie’s Reuben: classic Irish corned beef piled high with Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing on fresh-baked rye." - Matthew Meltzer

Visited on a Saturday evening, had an amazing dinner and loved the live music! Service was super friendly and we loved the atmosphere inside, plenty of room and not crowded at all even on the weekend. We both ordered the Fish and Chips dinner and I have to say this might be the best Fish and Chips I have ever had! There is a lot of competition in the area and this is absolutely a top notch contender. HUGE portion of fried fish, the batter is heavenly, even the fries were better than most other places. We also split a Bread Pudding which was the perfect sweet compliment to our meal. Of course I had to wash it down with a Guinness too. So good we wish we would have come here sooner and will definitely be back! Thanks Grace and friends!

Really good spot with lovely people, and great food! I ordered the fish and chips and it's one of the best in ever had, the batter was crispy and they were big pieces of fish. Staff was super nice and accommodating, we were checked on regularly and they took great care of us. The owner and his wife are lovely people, and seem to be well liked by staff and regulars. Good atmosphere, and the place as a fun wearhouse vibe. We were there for karaoke night which was also very fun. Would definitely go again!

Google
Came for a surprise visit because we thought it was the restaurant before them, but we're glad we stayed because the food was excellent! We really enjoyed the fish and chips, with delicious slaw. The shepherd's pie was very tasty and filling. Also, we can't say no to the Reuben Egg Rolls - just had to have it. We'll come back for sure. Overall fantastic experience!

Google
First time here and two of the appetizers they out of. So we ordered the Banger Rolls ($12) and the Guinness Stew($18) and we ordered a Guinness Cocktail flight called Walk the Plank ($12). The Banger Rolls were flavorful but the puff pastry surrounding them was a little thick for my taste. These were the most flavorful bangers I’ve ever had. The Guinness Stew portion size was plentiful. It was served warm but not hot and was lacking flavor. The best thing about it was the dinner rolls served with it. A little Mrs Dash will do wonders with our leftovers we are taking home. The Walk the Plank- each Guinness cocktail of course has Guinness and there were four of them. We tried theBlack and Blue, Black Velvet, Snakebite and Berry. Our favorite was the Black Velvet and we recommend this one. Our server was Kylie and she was friendly and just as attentive as we needed and liked. Thank you Kylie. We will return and try other menu items if they have them that day.

Google
Great time and superb food. Sampled the IPA and it did not disappoint. The food... such great flavor, scotch eggs were great, corned beef & cabbage rolls were fabulous, and the Ruben was fantastic. The staff were bright and cheery with plenty of recommendations. We will be back :) thank you!

Google
My husband found he has some Irish ancestry and so away we went to try his ancestor foods. So good, great experience ♡ fish and chips tender and good and the shepards pie was sooo hot temperature wise but very good. I tried the banger rolls omg 😋 yummy

Google
Love this place! Most of their menu is made in-house! Try the Irish soda bread, Scotch deviled eggs, rueben sandwich, Caesar wrap, fish n chips, and of course the irish beers: Guiness, Smithwicks, and Harps. The servers are always so nice and helpful too.

Stopped in early for lunch shortly after opening (11am) on a Saturday. They do not have specials so no innovative dishes (waitress offered for us to order off the kids menu...which felt odd). Nice interior with wood furniture, booths and chairs are not padded. There is outdoor seating and a stage presumably for live music. Potato and leek soup, very good on a cold afternoon. Bangers and mash with mushy peas, never had this but it was delicious, sausage tasted bland but was cooked crispy. Mashed potatoes were perfect. Ruben was excellent, corned beef was delicious, marbled rye was grilled to perfection. Side was the potato and leek soup. One of the main reasons we went was the bailey's cheesecake, which they were out of, we had caramel apple cheesecake in place of, wasn't bad, just would not order again. Verdict: I suggest to try it, while the mushy peas were weird, they were good. Will return, hopefully next time they will have the bailey's cheesecake.

Yelp
Service was exceptional. Julz was very attentive and friendly. Had great suggestions for drinks and food. We had shepherds Pie, which was very good. Julz suggested a side of their gravy, which was an awesome compliment. The atmosphere was very pleasant, with a sports bar atmosphere but not too loud. There was live music. All around d great place to enjoy a meal.

Yelp
The menu was amazing with authentic Irish fare, including Scotch eggs that we've not seen in years! The flavor and portions were excellent, we had the Guinness Stew and a Reuben. However, the bartender was sarcastic and boarder line rude. The kitchen closes at 8pm for entrees and only limited apps after. Also, the TVs are on the wall away from the bar, so it's not a place to watch a sporting event at all. We won't be back, maybe one more time to see if the staffing is better because the food was worth the bartender but not worth hanging around for a few more drinks after.

Yelp
These folk do a very good job. I can't seem to get away from the fish and chips. Every time: Big piece of fish, breaded and cooked perfectly. Incredible tartar sauce, which I'm not usually a fan of, but theirs has a great flavor. I like that they have Guinness zero available for when I'm on dry kicks. Their soda bread is different than what I'm used to. It's sweeter. And I'm not a big fan of the stew. Those are my knocks. All in all: These guys have anchored a strong rating in spite of some rough reviews early on. I was at the grand opening and once shortly after, and I can attest that they were still figuring things out back then. Not sure if he's the owner or manager, bald guy with a big personality. Couldn't be nicer. It's a treat if he's your server.

Yelp
The service was really great here, I loved the high ceilings and overall atmosphere. I only wish there was a better view of Clermont's iconic rolling hills but the outdoor area may be really nice at night, we went for lunch. The food is good but incredibly HEAVY. Some of the entrees can feed more than one person. Be warned :-) Cheers

Yelp
-No Yelp reservations- Please do not use the button to do so. Now that I got that PSA out of the way....Grace O'Malleys is a fun Irish pub with great food offerings that have many tradition Irish food fair with also a British influence like fish and chips, which by the way is HUGE. There's beer flights to choose your favorite beer, but also mixing them together is a tradition. My favorite thing so far has been the shepherds pie, which comes extremely hot and is very hardy. It appears since the last time I've been there they've added much more outdoor seating almost looks like they might have events from time to time. parking is ample, but if you're in the back, you will have to head down the stairs to find the establishment.

Yelp
Love this place! Good food, good drinks and great ambiance. They have combos of Guinness plus other drinks, which is fantastic. My husband enjoys the Blacksmith, which is half Guinness and half Smithwicks. In terms of food, come hungry for Irish food staples. We tried the cabbage and corned beef rolls, which were fantastic and comes with a side of thousand island dressing for dipping. Yum! Both my husband and I opted for the Reuben sandwich, both of which were stuffed full of meat and sauerkraut with a generous coating of thousand island dressing. Servers were friendly and quick with drinks and refill offers, which is great. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Duuude...so I've patiently waited after the grand opening to finally get a chance to experience this magical pub here now in little Clermont, FL. Let me tell you it did not disappoint! Firstly, Ashley took great care of us. Thank you Ashley you rock! Secondly, the beer flights are delightful. My fav is the snake bite. Oh...sooo good. Do it you won't regret it and life will be that much better afterward. Thirdly, the food. Aye Dios Mio!! Everything, literally everything from the apps to mains were on point. Three highlights: The wings; GEEZUS!! The fries: Damn!! The Reuben...BAM!!! You've made a new friend Grace O'Malleys! Thank you! And I'll see you again, and again, and again...

Yelp
I'm not a giant fan of Irish pubs but this one was pretty great. I stopped in with some friends the other night for dinner and our server was extremely pleasant. Kind of joke around with us and made us feel welcome. My friends ordered a bunch of appetizers. However, I skipped the appetizer and went right for a Reuben sandwich. The Reuben sandwich was packed full of corned beef. It needed a little bit more dressing, but overall really tasty. I was kind of sad to see that there was no corned beef and cabbage available to order as they were out and it seems to be a general consensus in the other reviews. The Irish soda bread I'd like to know what is in it that made it so sweet. It ate more like a dessert than either a starter or something that would go on the side with the meal. 4.5/5

Yelp
HOLY COW!!! Wow!!! What a difference from the old establishment that was here. We patiently waited and it was well worth it! Deep dark booths with tall backs fill the center of the room. Tables and tall boys are spaced throughout the dining room as well. It all screams Irish Pub! Gone are the TVs except for one in the center of the dining room. Menu is on 8 1/2 x 11 pages. It holds starters, hand helds, entree salads and mains...I opted for the Reuben. I became excited about this choice once the server claimed her love for their Reuben. It was between that and the Fish and chips with the Haddock.... What? Wait? What is the beautiful delight they set before me??? Love at first bite! Home made corned beef braised perfectly on that thick cut perfectly griddled rye. The pickling flavors in the braising liquid are most definitely present! This Reuben is now my top favorite of its kind here in Florida....I was a little nervous when I saw the slice cut with the grain instead of against....but THAT detail doesn't matter when the corned beef is COOKED TO PERFECTION!!! The first bite was nothing less than amazing!!! This is no Boars Head! This is an establishment that prepares their own and slices fresh! Thick sliced rye bread with the perfect amount of kraut! HOLY COW!!! This sandwich beats any and all around!! HANDS DOWN!!!!....I will be back for the fish and chips next! Mel? YOU are AWESOME!! Thank you for the exceptional service!

Yelp
Food was great, staff and waitress were super. Music by Jessie was great, lots of laughs and fun with fresh delicious food and cold drinks! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Hi, their service is a little questionable. They need someone designated to answer the phone and to deal with to go orders. I don't feel a bartender should be juggling to go orders and also serving drinks. The host at the front is very sweet. They got my order wrong. I guess its OK because the food made up for it. Their food is seasoned and delicious. I wish the fish was a little bit more fresher and crispy then they would be pretty much untouchable. Lol. They have interesting appetizers. I ordered the corn beef and cabbage eggroll. It was amazing and I love the creativity they have with their menu. Theres live music which is pretty cool. It's a spacious place and probably a great hangout spot.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised and impressed. Strange location and looks like a typical Irish bar when you walk in but the food and service were outstanding. The bartender, Dawn, was very attentive, friendly and had great recommendations. She made us feel like we were regulars, even though it was our first visit. The head chef, Shawn, came out to say hello and offered us samples of a new dessert he was working on for the menu. The dessert was delicious and we can't wait to see it on the permanent menu! I ordered the Reuben sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the fish and chips. They were both GIANT portions and flavorful - exactly what we wanted, down to the small details like the coleslaw and tartar sauce. Shawn even came out again to make sure we were enjoying our meals. When was the last time you ate at a restaurant and the head chef did this? We are locals and so happy we found a new place to add into our regular rotation for meals out. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would!! I am always up in clermont and decided to try someplace new today. I am so glad I did. This place is awesome. The waitress was super friendly. The food is so freaking amazing. I got the lunch option for fish and chips and it was the perfect amount of food. The fish was fried perfectly and was so delicious I didn't need any condiments. The fries were super crispy and delicious. I also got dessert and that did not disappoint either. Baileys Irish cheesecake. Seriously, this cheesecake is so good the golden girls would fight over it. I will definitely be going back here again.

Yelp
Well, it was my first time visiting this location and I'm happy to say that the weight staff was very friendly. I walked in without a reservation to order food and dessert to go and it did not take a very long time and my food was delicious.

Yelp
Service: A+ Food: C- Ambience: B The fish and chips were soggy. The fish mashed into a paste rather than being light and flaky. Could not tell the difference between the potato leek and split pea soup. The potato leek soup came out green and tasted like split peas. Not my favorite. The food was just so blah. However, our hostess and server were phenomenal. Probably won't come back, but had to try.

Yelp
A new fun and friendly place to go to take the family! Our waitress, Mel, was super friendly, provided great recommendations on what to eat and she checked on us periodically to make sure we were enjoying our time. We did a later lunch so we decided the larger dishes would be too heavy for us. We started off with fun Guinness Pairings and then enjoyed a variety of shareable dishes. The Irish Soda bread came with yummy marmalade! Our favorite shareable was definitely the Reuben rolls. Highly recommend this new Irish Pub.

Yelp
Yes they claim open until 11 pm Get there at 930 pm- oh we closed early tonight - they suck what horrible place

Yelp
The fish was very authentic right down to the batter being crisp on the outside and fluffy white on the inside. The chips were good, not great, but good. The curry sauce for an extra dollar I wouldn't get again. It wasn't chip shop curry, it was a cold puree spiced with curry. The coleslaw I could eat a bowl on its own, it was crunchy, sweet and perfectly seasoned. My friends enjoyed the soda bread which was a huge loaf for $8. We had the pretzel bites which my husband and I devoured before I remembered to take a photo. They were soft and chewy and the mustard dip was amazing. The menu is small but tasty and I will return.

Yelp
First let me say that I love everything they've done with the revamping of the interior. They did a very nice job and I like the separation of restaurant to the bar. Our bartenders and the manager are very nice. We got two cocktails (cherry limeade martini) and one beer (Smithwicks black and tan). Both were very good. We both got the fish. I got the mushy peas which are tasty in a weird way. I hate mushy vegetables, but these were delicious. The other plate had the fries. Now I will say it is my pet peeve when fish is served on top of fries. All the grease just soaks into your fries and they get soggy. If that is your thing too, I would ask for the fries to be put on a separate plate. The fish was a very generous size, and the breading on it was perfect although there was some kind of threading and the manager even saw it as I cut it and we had to replace it. I wish they would've seasoned the fish on the inside a little before with a little salt. But overall, the fish was pretty darn tasty. The fries that weren't soaked in the grease were delicious. The coleslaw was great. The tartar sauce was different but still good. And as I said before, you have to try the mushy peas at least once. I recommend you try them out because their food is delicious.

Yelp
Been several times now, and it's been great. Wife's fish and chips were off the chain, and my salad was incredible. Today, I got carryout - fish and chips were a bit soggy once I got home, but that's not on them but it's just something to think about (you'll get that no matter where you get stuff from if it's a crispy texture thing). Son got the Shepherd's Pie and loved it. I got the corn beef and cabbage - big portion and the flavor was wonderful. My only wish was that it had a bit more cabbage, but I love cabbage. Service has been amazing every time - friendly folk with great attitudes willing to go the extra mile.

Chris F.

Yelp
My friends and I go there weekly for bingo and the service and attentivness provided by Scott and Tatiana are top notch. And, the Wagu burger and fish and chips are the best around.
google avatar

Yelp
The only thing I don't like is the slow service.. not enough servers.. and they run out of certain dishes early.. ambiance is okay.. looks like a pub.. it's on a hill.

Yelp
Had lunch there today for the first time and definitely recommend it! The food was so good even the picky eaters loved it! We will definitely return!!! Great service as well!

Yelp
We decided to check this place out since it's new to the area. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere was excellent. We sat at the bar so service was good. We started off with the corn beef and cabbage rolls. They were a bit expensive at $12 for the size and quantity that you receive but they were delicious. We then shared the Kelly's original fish and chips. The batter was light and crispy. It was excellent. We would definitely go again.

Kelly K.

Yelp
We Recently moved to the Clermont area and was happy to see a cool looking pub near our new home. Since we were new to the restaurant, we weren't exactly sure how they had their outside tables set up but the very friendly hostess Let us know that it was open seating and that a server would be with us shortly. So we sat and tried to be patient while listening to the great live music. After 10 minutes or so I finally got up and grabbed some menus. I hoped that would alert anyone that was working outside that someone new had been sat. after a time I got up and asked the bartender if I was supposed to order from him. he replied no someone would be along to help us, but he would take our drink order. A short time later someone did deliver our drinks and advised us he was "helping the bartender out."..... he spun around and walked off, Leaving my wife and I ready to order but confused about why he didn't do so. He seemed a little irritated. Maybe he was in the weeds. Maybe he had tables inside. maybe he was assisting someone else. Having worked in food service more than 20 years, I am pretty observant and considerate of the circumstances I generally find in restaurants. He did have time to have a drink and socialize with some folks at the bar however. There were about 7 tables outside, but several were getting drinks from the bar on their own. After another 10 minutes, I was ready to pay our small tab and leave, but my wife went in to ask the helpful hostess if there was a server outside or just someone "helping out" the bartender. She assured her that someone would help us soon. The assistant came by and informed us that he would be taking care of us. The rest of the evening was pretty standard service and the food was good. The standout was the bread. This was a bad first experience, and I'll try one more time. I know that restaurants are having a difficult time with staffing, but this place just seemed like it was not organized. They were not slammed.

Yelp
I'm not usually a big British/Irish cuisine fan, but this place could be "my place"! We had a very nice time. We shared the fish and chips, the Reuben tots and the adult Mac and cheese, and they were all amazing. Our server Jeremy was extremely attentive and made us feel like we were his only customers even though he was huffing it all night long with many tables. Can't wait to come back for some of the entertainment options and just the ambiance since this is practically in our back yard! Thank you!

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and picked Grace's based on Yelp reviews as we were looking for a place to get a late lunch. It's in a quirky location, but has ample parking and elevator access for those with mobility problems. The interior definitely has a pub vibe that probably works very well with live music and date night suppers. The food was okay for a lunch spot. Our choices were limited by their supply truck running late. I opted for soup and a sandwich. The sandwich was tasty, but the soup was so salty that I couldn't eat it (and I'm a salt-a-holic). My husband's burger was "okay," a bit overcooked and dry. If you're not a FL native, be prepared for the taste of "Florida water." Grace O'Malley's doesn't appear to serve filtered water.

Yelp
Love this new little gem! Just opened this year and it is great! Andy the bartender "The Mascot" of the pub! Food was hot and delicious. We will definitely be back soon! Good vibes!

Yelp
We sat at an outside table in March. They had a live band so great atmosphere. Service was good. Fish & Chips had too much breading but chips were great; Shepherd's Pie was bland; Bangers and Mash and great draft beer were well worth going back again.

Mike O.

Yelp
We had dinner last night and really enjoyed the food and service. Brooklyn was very friendly, attentive and helpful! The food was fresh, hot and tasted great! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Will definitely return soon! Well done!

Linda S.

Yelp
We ate here Friday at about four and our server had all the booths and a table of 8, but she zoomed around the room and so service was great. Food was delicious - potato leek soup!!! Shepherds pie!!! Will return. One more thing, some reviewer's comment about this wasn't a place for "old people" ??? Everyone in the room had to be over 65, including myself and my husband.
google avatar

Mindy S.

Yelp
We decided to try this place during its soft opening. Food is fresh and very good. They have lots of beer on tap. Working out service issues but it was crowded and it is a soft opening. Very good new addition to Clermont.
google avatar

Seamore G.

Yelp
Here on business for 10 days and luckily stumbled upon this new Irish pub in Clermont. The place has a great vibe and ambiance. Live music. Karaoke and plenty TVs for football. Staff is super attentive and works really hard. Over 3 visits, I had the wings, cabbage /corn beef rolls, tater barrel rolls, Scottish egg and Shepard pie. Everything I ordered was terrific. Probably my favorite however, was Dimitri's perfect pours of ice cold Guinness (mother's milk!). If you're looking for a solid Irish pub, look no further than Grace O Malleys!

Mark E.

Yelp
Passable Bar & Grill chow. Service excellent. Bar with tables, things on walls. Okay, the review does not warrant 85 characters.

Yelp
Love this place! The shepherd's pie and the Bailey's cheesecake were delicious! There was live music on in the bar the night we were there which was awesome!! Bar staff were super friendly and professional! Will definitely be back on the regular!!

Yelp
Great new place for families or date night. Food is excellent and authentic. Specialty cocktails are crazy good!! Stag and service is above especially for a brand new place. Not many bugs to work out like most places. Will be even better when the live music gets going. Definitely 10 out of 10 tonight!!

Yelp
We are walking out to our car after being seated and waiting 25 minutes at a table with no service. The hostess seated us, we were smack in the middle right under a TV not hard to miss. The place isn't very busy, we saw two servers pass us by multiple times and even make eye contact. We had menus and no beverages which would indicate we hadn't been served. We had time to decide what food and drinks we wanted to order, and sit waiting for what felt like eternity. We finally got up and walked out without being acknowledged with the exception of being seated. Such a disappointment.

Yelp
Food was good people nice. The restaurant was clean. I had the Shepherds Pie the mixture of beef and lamb was good. My wife had fish and chips it was a little expensive but the fish was very pleasing.

Yelp
The so-called Irish version of Graffiti Junction I, like the rest of Clermont, were waiting for months to open. Sadly, my first impression wasn't a good one. All these months and it looked like only tables were replaced. You would have thought they would have done something with the place after Graffiti Junction! So no ambience except for the costumed servers. We were a group of 16 who had reservations yet they were out of corned beef and cabbage AND Irish soda bread. They advertised wings with a special sauce. They had the wings but not the sauce. Add all of that together, you knew we were coming and you were out of these items?? Server told me Jameson with soda was on the happy hour but later I was charged full price. I questioned her and she told me she would give me money out of her tip money - what is that about? Ordered the Guinness stew that had no noticeable Guinness in it (I know what Guinness tastes like) and it must had had a full shaker of salt in it. Wouldn't dare order dessert. We as a group were highly disappointed and my husband and I will not be back. I predict it will be popular with younger people because the room is one large room with high ceilings so very noisy - just like the previous restaurant had. But older people - forget it. *I gave it 2 stars as the waitress tried to accommodate me.

Dora N.

Yelp
This place is huge! Food was delicious. I had the Shepherds pie and friends had Fish and Chips. They had a happy hour and music. Great place for celebrations. Service was excellent

What a great addition to Clermont. Loved the atmosphere. Dimitri made wonderful cocktails. Coconut rum and cranberry, and house special old fashion. The Shepherd pie and Irish stew were both delish. The fried pickles were crunchy and yummy. All in all a great place. We will be back.

Yelp
From out of the area & I stopped in here for dinner on a whim after the first place I went to was closed. Best fish n chips I have had in a long time; the tartar sauce was excellent with a dill base to it. Service was very good, too! Recommend if you haven't been!

Yelp
Pay Cash! Do not give them your card! overcharged $50! Fruad! Not recommended food cold, management told me over 5 people so far were overcharged as much as $400 for one person. I do not recommend this place!

Yelp
Great service. The food is fabulous. I have eaten fish and chips all over England and Scotland. The fish and chips at Grace O'Malleys is equal anything I ever ate over there and the price is reasonable. The service is pleasant and the kitchen is fast. Burgers are great; cooked to order. Shepherd's pie and all the pub favorites. The place is a little hard to find, but really worth it.

Yelp
We just returned home after having lunch of fish and chips. It did not disappoint. I had suggested that the fries , to die for, to be on a separate plate, and it deserves more than 5 stars. Someone knows what they are doing in the kitchen Our waitress was Brooklyn who was very personable and professional. Kudos to all we will definitely be back and welcome to the area. Only complaint is the location.
