Grafton Street Pub is a new** Irish pub in the Lake Mary/Heathrow area. The decor and vibe is modern and refreshing, but still transports you away from FL. I loved all the Irish touches. Please be aware, this spot is quite loud inside so keep that in mind if you are preferring a more quiet meal. Once at our table, we did have to wait a bit to be greeted by our server, but the spot is new so I'm sure they're still working out the kinks. Once we were greeted, the meal and service were paced well for the rest of the evening! Now on to the food - it was delish! The menu contains traditional fare such as fish and chips (complete with mushy peas) and shepherd's pie, but also has dishes with a modern and/or FL twist . There are dishes for the adventurous and the picky eaters alike. I started with an Irish Margarita. It was good, but I didn't taste the cider that was supposed to be in it. We opted for the bruschetta as an app, it was enjoyable and had great flavor! The balsmaic pearls made for a good photo. My husband enjoyed his smashburger (but was too hungry to allow for a photo haha). I went with a grilled cheese which is not my standard in a restaurant, but the miso butter, gruyere, and hot honey peaked my interest. It was very good! Loved the umami from the miso, but didn't get much honey flavor. The tomato bisque on the side was creamy perfection. This spot is a bit pricey depending on your expection (apps $6,-$18, sandwiches $14-$23, entrées $17-$45, kids meals $6-$8, cocktails $12-14, and beer $5-$8). All in all, this was a solid meal and there were many other menu items I'd like to try. So, we'll be back (and hope some of the flavors listed on the menu descriptions shine through more in the future!).
Note: Check out the red phone booth on the side and you may find a whole new experience waiting for you ;)
**If you had been to Liam's in the past, they have since closed and this new spot is under the same ownership and in the plaza across the street. While I liked Liam's, dare I say I like this new spot even better?
