Oh my god this venue is absolutely amazing. I've been to over 150 shows and this was one of the very best, between it being an artist I'm super into and just a perfect venue experience. Coat check was great, merch was in a good spot, drinks were tasty (and brutally expensive; an important part of a concert experience for me is the $22 cocktail). Didn't even have to wait in line for a stall in the women's room! I adore this place and hope I'll be able to see more shows here!

Google
All staff were courteous. The venue is amazing. Sound and light guys did a great job. Could use some upkeep and updating but it's not bad enough to lose a star. Recommend: fixing bathroom stall doors so they lock and finding a way to make some more legroom for theater seating (my shins would appreciate it 😜)

Google
Very cool! We enjoyed our time here. The security both at the door and in the building were really nice, professional, and chill. The venue's decor is great. No complaints about the sound, lighting, or audience areas (GA standing or seating). Coat check process is easy and quick. Merch area is nicely setup and flows well. I'll def go back to see another show here.

I called ahead regarding their purse & coat policy, as online reviews have very mixed opinions. I'm just speaking to my experience here, so please feel free to call ahead - staff was really friendly! They said I could bring my "big purse" to the venue & coat check that without issue. I took my prescription meds before going, but I did have my mini first aid kit with me (with travel OTC meds, band aid, etc) and it didn't get searched or scrutinized when my purse was. When checking in, they checked my purse & let me in without issue (even with an oversized purse). There is no coat check in the summer, which is confusing because ticket master allowed me to purchase for an additional fee a coat check ticket. Security did get someone to unlock a small closet & gave me a coat check ticket. It was confusing, though, so if you're debating buying the coat check and it's a warmer month, maybe reconsider & bring that amount in cash instead if you still want to check. Outside of all the "will my purse be allowed in when I'm traveling" & "is coat check real?" issues, once I got inside, everything was pretty great. The bathrooms are retrofitted & similar to a bar, but I feel like that's standard for the age of the building. The stage & seating area are very close together. Even if you've got a back row seat, you're fairly close. I knew I purchased a rather close seat, but when I found it, I could literally touch the stage. Very cool experience!!!

Google
This might be the first time I've been here to a student event. I was on the elevated area and had no problem seeing. The stage is still pretty close. I really think there's no bad seats in the elevated section. I can't speak for the folding chairs on the ground. . But the stage seemed high enough that they shouldn't have problems seeing.

The venue provides an intimate setting, enhancing the overall concert experience for attendees. Its historical architecture and design contribute to a unique atmosphere, setting it apart from other modern performance spaces. The acoustics within the theater are generally well-regarded, ensuring clear sound quality for musical performances. A diverse range of artists and bands have graced its stage, catering to various musical tastes. Furthermore, the location offers convenient access to public transportation, making it accessible for many people. The staff is typically praised for their professionalism and efficiency in managing events. Overall, the venue maintains a strong reputation within the New York entertainment landscape. It consistently strives to deliver memorable experiences for both performers and audiences.

This was our first show at the Gramercy Theater. It was a perfectly sized venue. Clean, friendly staff and great sound. This was a sold out Ashley Cooke show.

The bebop bounty big band was the greatest show I've seen in 5 maybe 10 years. Easily 10. Gramercy is a great venue o have been many times before. This was different in that the floor for general admission and standing was all seated for a front row view on the big band. And boy was it worth it to get sken floor seats. Only 6/7 rows vack from the stage. Go's these guys do great work absolute must see if you're a jazz and or bebop fan. It infected me with so much jazz I had to a jazz club not even a week later. So so good. Treat yourself and see them. And of course Gramercy is a tried and true venue.

Yelp
I e always loved the gramercy for what it is and never wanted it to be anything it is not. Over the years I've seen a wide range of acts and bands; I've always enjoyed my time.

Yelp
My first visit to the Gramercy was May of this year. Been back twice since. It's a really nice little, intimate theater to see a show. As most places in Manhattan, it's pretty easy to get to. The 23rd stop on the M/F line leaves you a few blocks away. The 6 leaves you closer at just a block down. Strong piece of advice from me is to always buy the Quick Pass to get in first. As it gets closer to when doors open, they will go around asking if you have a Quick Pass. You show them then you get put on a different queue. The place is small so the front by the stage gets filled up as soon as the first people get in. Also, there's first come first served seating so if you get in first, you'll have your pick of the litter when it comes to seating. The staff are friendly and the security checks are efficient. There's a downstairs area that has the merch tables, coat check, bathrooms and a lounge area with a bar that also has light bites. Upstairs is the main part of the venue. Like I mentioned before, this place is tiny. I haven't been to a sold out show here before so I can only imagine how crowded it can get. Sound is pretty good. There's a VIP section to the left of the stage with seating and service. There are also 2 bars. One on the left side and one on the right. The bars up there have chips, popcorn and gummy bears. I got a gin and tonic and a big box of popcorn for $30 with tip. Decent enough. This was an old movie theater. You can still feel that vibe. They shot The Fugees video for "Killing Me Softly" here. As I've both stood at the front here and also sat in the seats I can honestly say that the seats are a million times better. You're not squashed and you have a great view. The first row or 2 is usually reserved for VIP but other than that, you get your choice. When I come by myself, I like to sit in the single seat. Very convenient. Don't have to subject yourself to getting up and down to let people in your row. What keeps me from giving this 5 stars is the annoying thing that happened last month when I was here. I had my Quick Pass (which always costs $10) and was let in first. The opening band was still doing sound check so we weren't allowed in. We had to wait downstairs. At this point they let half of the people in, including people who didn't have Quick Pass. So it was all a big mess waiting downstairs. After about 15-20 minutes they let us all in. Why did the people who paid extra to get in first get in with everyone else? That's really not fair. Hopefully that was a 1 time thing because I didn't have that experience the other times I visited. Will I come back again? For sure. Good place to see a show and feel like they're playing just for you!

Yelp
Went to see IAMDDB with a friend who had a last minute ticket. The venue is gorgeous with 2 floors. The bottom floor has the bathroom and coat check. The carpets and gold frames complemented each other very well. Coat check was easy and their system made the line move quickly at the end of the show. There's general admission and seating available. I like that the show was a bit more intimate so there was a lot of space to breathe in GA. The bar is priced as expected but drinks were okay. Security was very friendly actually! Definitely good vibes.

Yelp
First time coming to a show here. I originally wasn't sure if I was going to come because the show was on a Wednesday night, in the middle of the work week. But I was in the city anyway, so bought a ticket the night before. I knew the artists playing and the acoustics in the hall let these alt rock bands play their music with clarity and it was one of the better experiences I've had at a live concert. I did order a drink, I wasn't sure what I wanted so the person asked me some questions to help me decide which was nice. I was told my drink costed $13. This was fine. But when I gave my card, they charged it on the machine without showing me. I walked away a little sketched because that is strange, you don't really get a receipt telling you. In the venue, I opened my mobile card app to see how much was charged. It was nearly $18. I do understand tax charges are a little higher in New York State but it's not $5 on a $13 purchase, meaning there's a surcharge for card payments they didn't mention or they charged a tip without showing me and it's mandatory. It is courtesy to tip, I don't mind, but I don't like that they took it without saying anything. I don't know how they decide it but I don't think that's right as they can really charge you anything. They probably charge you enough where they take a tip but it's not large enough where you would have serious issues to the point of complaining. The concert sounded great in the venue, I would come again for a show but I'm not ordering anything from here again.

Yelp
When I learned that a band that I adored was playing at Gramercy Theatre, I immediately was picturing the place in my head...or, rather, what I thought looked like the theatre. After researching it, I learned that I had been confusing it with Irving Plaza and had, in fact, never been to Gramercy. Upon my arrival, I found the entry staff nice, yet diligent about checking ids and inspecting bags (they need to be small, but not clear), which I could appreciate. The main floor held the stage with a decent amount of standing room just in front of it, as well as several rows of stadium seating coming down from the opposite end of the room, for which tickets cost a bit more. There were also two bars, which were even advertising the few fruity mocktails they had on offer. The acoustics were incredible, allowing each band to sound clear and powerful. Downstairs, there was an ideal space for relaxing between sets; it housed the merch tables, as well as a cool cellar bar with brick walls that made it feel like a hip, cozy hideaway. All in all, I thought Gramercy Theatre was an intimate and high-quality spot for seeing a concert.

Yelp
Honestly I love the Gramercy. I've been here a million times, I wish I took more pictures. Some of my favorite concerts have been here. The shows are always so intimate because the size of the venue is a little small but that's what I prefer. Love the VIP lounge because of the clean bathrooms with easy access(it makes a difference)

Yelp
Saw "The Alarm" here recently. Great show - Access is amazing - such a small venue you're right there with the performers! Two bars on either side which is great. Mostly standing only. Chill crowd the two times I've been here.
google avatar

Bob K.

Yelp
Saw 2 Elvis Costello shows here and couldn't have been more satisfied. Super easy / fast entry, good bar options and short lines and clean and available bathrooms. Sound was a bit muted given it's an old movie theater with average acoustics, but overall great experience. Comfortable seats and well organized merchandise selling area downstairs. Sat in the Loge (row BB one night and FF the next), which is still close enough and with a good view unless you're behind the mixing board (which is a huge area). Loved the vibe, great shows and friendly and accommodating staff.

Yelp
Whenever an event is sold out the space is a god damm fire hazard. Also security needs to learn basic ADA guidelines like diabetics should be permitted to enter with snacks (thankfully some staff members were educated)

Yelp
The Gramercy Theatre is a music venue in New York City that was built in 1937. It has a capacity of 650. Pretty intimate place to see your favorite band. It has two small bar areas on either side of the theatre. Security is pretty tight, so leave your hardware at home.....
google avatar

Anaya F.

Yelp
Security has a power trip for no reason. Constantly kicking out people, having an attitude, and just overall being rude to concert goers that pay a lot of money to be there. Security took my water away, advil, and stomach pills (I desperately needed it for my condition). I tried to convince the security guard I needed it (Short lady with curly hair always wearing a vest) and she just threw it away without any consideration for my health. They're acting like I was trying to bring percs into the venue or something. I take photos for these events and the lighting is amazing, but the security makes the experience so unpleasant and annoying. Security only allowed me to take photos for 3 songs from each artist (standard rule) but they made me leave the media area each time. Meaning I had to stand in the audience with my camera, then come back to the media pit when a new artist performed which is ridiculous. Security needs to be humbled because they acting like they work at MSG.

Yelp
Classic venue. Saw a few alt bands here over the years and was happy to go back recently. Not really much in the way of food but their drinks were good. Clean venue and easy to get to. Love that they have a pit and lots of theatre style seating in the back (up high so you can still see everything).
google avatar

Yelp
Great venue, organized entry, ladies bathroom tight and not the cleanest. Seats behind the sound booth not horrible, considered 'obstructed view', but able to see stage easily. We were able to move as it wasn't a packed house. Plenty of bars. The lower level provided the most relaxed area, brighter, sofas. Bartenders could be nicer especially at those prices. Have fun!
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
This place used to be so nice and now it's complete trash. My main problem was when I first entered the venue. I was having my bag checked and I had a small snack in my bag cause I needed something for incase I start to shake cause I need food. This fucking cunt of a security guard.....I told her my reasoning and she starts to mock me. She kept saying "I shake too. So does everyone." Umm no, they don't. I was extremely offended and felt like no one gave a shit about my health. Some people need food at certain times and no, I don't want your over priced popcorn. What the fuck is wrong with having a small snack with you? Not like it's a fucking five course meal!! Let's move onto the bathrooms; DISGUSTING!!!! There was toilet paper, paper towels, water, dirt all over the bathroom. And none of the stalls had toilet paper. Went in there twice throughout the night and it was the same thing. No one bothered to go in and clean or put more toilet paper in the stalls. Have you guys not heard of cleaning or proper maintenance????? So gross!! If I never had to go here again I definitely never would. I will tho if one of my favorite bands is playing and I'll leave all the nasty reviews if need be. This place REALLY needs to change with their bullshit rules and lack of cleaning. Biggest thing is they need to fire that bitch for mocking me when I stated something about my health!! Talk, dark skinned female with braids in her hair. Working the door for Crown The Empire. FIRE HER!!!!!!

Yelp
This place is terrible! We got tickets to see a show and my husband got "VIP" thinking we would be in a better section with seats since I cant stand too long because of my bad knee. Well...we got to the VIP section and it was packed, no seats available. When we did get seats...they were bar stools...if we would have paid regular price we would have had comfy folding chairs. Needless to say I was not happy...cover band we saw was terrible and because i stood for almost 3 hours my knee is still killing me two days later. I must say that I would give 5 stars to Anthony who did come over and got 7 people out of VIP section who didnt belong and he tried to be as accomodatimg as possible
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I came here for the first time ever and had a good experience. They ask to see your vaccination card and ID before entering. The venue itself is on the smaller side. They also had seats available. The bathrooms were pretty decent. My mixed drink was $8. I would definitely return to watch another band play in the future.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Cool live music venue but the beer prices are way too high. It's $14 for a 16 ounce can of PBR or Yuengling here. They also don't have any draft beer.
google avatar

Josephine L.

Yelp
Caught Uncle Roger here. General, first come/first serve seating, but we got here early enough to score nice seats close to the stage and next to the VIP section (where incidentally, the Emotional Damage guy was seated with his entourage). Nice, medium-sized stage, perfect for an up-and-coming comic. The bartender was super nice to me (first customer of the night) and poured me a double glass of red wine for the price of one. Will return.
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
The staff that work here especially security are exceptional. We just came from an afternoon childrens concert and my son zoomed right in the security took my stroller and parked it as I zoomed off to chase him to the front of the stage.

Marc G.

Yelp
Unfortunately, in my humble opinion, the people running the sound have no clue how to mix live music. It is really remarkable how bad it is. Having played at, and also attended live shows across the country, in my opinion, the sound at the Gramercy ranks at the bottom.

M C.

Yelp
Rudest staff I've ever encountered. Inept and disrespectful workers. Security is a joke and management is even worse. No wonder everyone hates this place.
google avatar

Sabrina P.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for Trevor Wallace on 11/8 and it was a great experience. The bars are on the main floor and was easy to get drinks, and the bathrooms were pretty decent for this type of venue. Definitely would come back to check out other artists or comedians another time!

Neptunez A.

Yelp
Staff was immensely rude, stole my personal belongings and had no right doing so, reluctant to give me water and refused to sell me a red bull. Bartender was extremely rude in his mannerisms toward not just me but all of my peers, alongside every other staff member. Especially the light skin woman with the curly hair and tattoos. I loved the show itself but my experience with the nasty staff for the most part tainted the overall experience. Hire people that enjoy their job and stop letting your employees make the fact that they hate their job ruin other people's time.

Ariela R.

Yelp
I went for a one of there bad bunny night and had the security guards being rude, not letting me sit and telling me to stand up. Also got there and were kicking everyone out of the lounge.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool midtown concert hall in NYC that appears to be converted from Old 70's movie theater. I came to say seeing the newest version of the Black Crowes here which was a treat. Our tickets were in the Loge Seats which gave us access to the seats and floor which was a nice option. Now you I highly recommend purchasing the cut the line pass , it's worth every penny. Come on cutting in front of people who waited hours is awesome. Once your in head up front on the rail or unless your 6'6" I'd recommend the seating area. Great views and sound is perfect by the mixing boards. If your looking for merchandise it's all the way downstairs by the coat check area. If you need cocktails I saw 2 bars on the main floor however a tad pricy for a tiny drink. $12 for a rum & pineapple drink ( wahhhhhh )! I'd say drop the drink prices down and you'll sell more booze. So to sum up the experience : A+ for band A+ for line & security staff A+ for cool theater C for booze pricing Well, that's it from the Gramercy Theater, I'm outa here.

Yelp
Great venue! Went here for a concert. Professional staff, especially one of the security guards named General. He was professional, attentive, and made sure to help anyone who had questions.

Morgan L.

Yelp
Came here for a show tonight for an anniversary the show was amazing the venue was great but the staff at the event was not. I asked a staff member about half way through the show if I could step out to smoke they said no which is fine I went back to the show but watched 10 people immediately after this exit the theatre to smoke. This is fine but as the show was ending or so we thought we were ushered out as we stepped not 2 feet outside we saw the show was continuing and an encore was happening I opted to stay outside to finally smoke but my partner wanted to step back in. She was refused by the theatre staff specifically a larger gentleman who also stopped me from exiting earlier to smoke and told she could not enter. I can understand wanting to leave after a long night but your guests have paid to come and enjoy a show it's ridiculous to force them to miss parts of it because of your staffs poor planning and communication. One could say it was a security issue but that wouldn't excuse the multiple other people allowed to exit and enter at will. Needless to say this ruined her and our experience and I would recommend not coming to this venue for that reason.

Yelp
I have attended COUNTLESS shows at this venue over the past 10 years, and I recently visited again. So glad that they haven't lost their authenticity or audience when it comes to the bands they book. Always expect a punk/rock/alternative crowd, reasonably priced tickets, easy entrance, grungy restrooms, and walls covered in band/tour posters. The sounds gets a bit muffled at the midpoint of the floor space, but carries excellently if you're seated in the back. Kind of relieved to accept that I'm too old (not to mention tiny) for mosh pits, and would rather appreciate the music from a safe distance while knocking back a few dark & stormys with some friends. The Gramercy Theater is timeless, and no one should ever feel disappointed to discover that their favorite band is playing here.

Tamar B.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at this venue. The staff was so friendly and pleasant. The bartenders were excellent and served us quickly. Overall experience was fantastic and I would definitely go again.

Yelp
This is a great space for a concert or event! I went to two events here in March for the Death Becomes Us Festival. Both shows were seated events, so the theatre had chairs across the floor in rows. I could tell the space would be really fun for a concert, because the floor was a decent, yet intimate size. They also had two bars upstairs and one bar downstairs, which gave people choices. What I didn't like was the confusion and miscommunication of the theatre and its staff. The first event said it started at 6 on some websites but then said doors at 6 on the tickets. It was confusing, because some people got there at 5:15 trying to go in and the theatre explained the doors at 6 thing. Also, the staff don't know what's going on. At the first event the ticket said it came with a free drink and a martini glass. I ordered one of the 3 qualifying drinks and the bartender said my drink didn't come in the glass- even though it LITERALLY said it on all the signage and the website. So I had to go buy a 2nd drink from a nicer bar tender to get my glass. And mannnn the bar lines were long, but the one downstairs was insane! They had one guy bar tending for a snaked like of at least 40 people. Like what!? Either way, the shows were good and the venue was small enough to make the events feel intimate. I just can't even with the miscommunication though.

Yelp
Came here to see Pete Yorn in early Nov of 2014 and I had a fab time! I love small venues like this for music--reasonable ticket prices and intimate atmosphere being the two primary draws. It was also interesting that this place happened to be around the corner from where I used to live in the late 90s when I was going to school here. Bummed this place wasn't around then, and I forget what this place used to be, but the well-worn interior makes it feel like it's been here forever (or at least since the 70s). At any rate, I did love the drink specials named after the performer's songs (for the record, I had the "Life on a Chain", which was a Pabst Blue Ribbon tallboy with a well shot--yeehaw! Living the high life in Manhattan, let me tell you! Pete sounded awesome and I had a great time. Wouldn't hesitate to go back for another show here. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Awesome little venue for intimate shows.

Yelp
My friends and I were super excited to go to a concert here last night as we all met up in NYC from different parts of the globe. All of us were over 21 but only 3 of us had wristbands because our fourth friend is from China and did not have her passport on her. Before the concert even started, one friend without a wristband took a tiny sip of my friends drink, and the two of them were kicked out immediately. We then tried to present a picture of that friend's passport to the manager, who told us that there was no possible way of letting her back in due to Live Nation's policies despite the proof of her age. When conversing with the bouncers after, one told us that they usually DO accept pictures of passports, which was extremely frustrating. The disparity in policies presented to us between the manager and the bouncer was wildly unprofessional, and overall we were very disappointed. We will likely not be returning due to the antithetical policies toward us that essentially ruined our night.

Yelp
The venue here is actually nice. I was here last night for a website launch event. BEST OF BOTH OFFICES event.. 2 Chainz performed here and YES, for free we got to see him. The crowd was really live, very into the event at least when there were artists you actually heard of. I liked the setup here better than most other concerts I have been to recently. Ace Hood and GunPlay also performed last night with Asher Roth. He did a good performance as well. I had a seat in the back for a while then headed to the front right side of the stage when 2 Chainz finally came by at the end. He was Ridin around and gettin' it/ The crowd also almost started a RIOT, well not really... They were not that hyped.I did not drink at the bar, I saw some prices 24 oz for $11 ( I think Budweiser, not really great to me). i THINK it was $6 or $7 for most smaller 12 oz beers.

Yelp
Went to TR3 Last night. Paid for VIP, Was supposed to receive head of the line status, a poster, and VIP. seating. What I got was harassment at the front door. I was told I was too late to come in for my head of the line status if that even makes any sense. Was searched so thoroughly I was waiting for a cavity exam. There was no poster to speak of,And the VIP seating inside consisted of a backless wooden bar stool on a slightly elevated floor. The band was excellent the venue is weak and the staff was terrible. That will be the last time I go to the Gramercy!

Yelp
I really liked this venue for the Daniela Andrade concert. A big concert goer, the venue really makes or breaks it for me. I like the layout of the floor with easy access to the stage. The design of the floor with it's slight decline as it makes its way to the stage is genius: so many times I've been frustrated with being unable to see! Now I get that there will always be some obnoxiously tall people who somehow think they defy the rules of height proportion and somehow short people behind them will be able to see. That does not take away from the fact that the sloping floor still helps all of us shorties see all the performers! The coat check was downstairs which I did not utilize as I wasn't sure whether I would be staying full time or having to crash early. I do like the bars towards the back and sides of the orchestra level though. It was also nice to see a balcony with seating because there are possibly concerts that I would love to grab a front row balcony seat versus standing on the floor. PROS: - good view of the stage with sloping floor, able to get up close - spacious, well ventilated - seated available in the balcony - character, old school - clean bathrooms (at least to start) - two bars to diffuse the crowds CONS: - not really a con but has a somewhat musky smell to it, adds to the character! If you want something fancy, super clean and something enormous, this is not going to be your venue. If you want something intimate that you can get moderately up close to your musician or performer of choice, this is it. It's super easy to find and easy to access by subway. The bathrooms are relatively small so I would recommend going to this early on in the show before it gets grungy with fifty plus people trying to use it after hitting the bar a few times. I can't wait to catch a few more shows here!

Yelp
#Got a thorough pat down through security. They were wondering what was in my tiny pocket ...that pocket that's above your regular jeans pocket that #I really don't know what it's really for. I pulled out the fake baby and they were confused, but let me in anyway.

Yelp
We went to a concert here last night, and it was everything you want in a smallish/mid-sized venue (granted, a lot of this could have been due to the specific show we saw - so obviously, mileage may vary): - Quick and painless entrance. - Nonabrasive crowd control that left the floor busy but not unbearable shoulder-to-shoulder packed. - Service without an attitude (for the most part). - Good-enough sound quality. - Multiple bars. Yes, the drinks are expensive - but you're at a venue in NYC, so such is life. - Rafter seats in the back with a good view of the stage. All in all, I'd definitely come back here for show. My one piece of critical feedback: the floors could use a clean -- I'm usually not a stickler for that sort of thing, but they were sticky to the point where it took effort to lift your foot. What if I want to do the moonwalk?

Yelp
Since google doesn't want to show my review, I'm posting it here so people are able to read my experience: I would've rated this place 5 stars for even hosting one of my favorite bands... but after my experience with the bouncers and staff, I would give this place a proper 0 stars. I've never wrote a review in my life (this will be my only review), but this place definitely deserves one. If you need to take a quick business/emergency call outside or even a smoke break, this isn't the place for you. You can get through vaccination & ID check with a stamp and then show the bouncers your tickets and be on your way, but god forbid you go through all of that and need to step outside the venue real quick AFTER you have JUST entered, you absolutely cannot get back in for some reason? There was no problem when we entered so this is why I'm so shocked. Don't waste your time here, I already have, plus the money I spent to see a band I couldn't even see. I tried to be very polite, nice, and reasonable with multiple bouncers telling them that you've already scanned me and my boyfriends tickets, but they refused to let my boyfriend back in and if I tried to help him any more or step foot outside of the venue to solve the problem, they were going to kick me out as well... so I left obviously because why would I attend an event without my plus one and also be treated like I'm not a paying customer. We weren't even notified that there was no re-entry. No sign outside the venue or told before/while entry. What a waste of a decent venue. I hope you change your staff or at least the way you treat your customers. Thank you for ruining my night. I hope you guys feel great about yourselves and your establishment.

Yelp
The venue was great but the rating is for the lady bouncer with an attitude. I had a protein bar in my bag and it was taken from me at entry. I've been to plenty of live gigs and this has never happened to me in any other music venue. I don't want your $5 chips, I'll have my protein bar, thank you. Also, she gave me attitude when I was re-entering the venue after I left but decided to go to the merch stand. Like, I got a legit eye roll. Why you gotta be that way?

Yelp
I'd never been here before until I came for the O-Town concert last night (O-M-G) and did not realize how small this place really was! It's actually a really casual place and not too large, so you actually get kind of up close and personal with the bands playing. Upon entering, the coat check is downstairs (I opted out of this and was glad because there was a massive line at the end of the night) and the merchandise is also downstairs, along with the restrooms. Straight in is the stage, where there are two bars to the left and the right along with minimal seating area on the left. Towards the back, you have some normal theater-styled seats, but why would you want to sit when you can be on the FLOOR with O-TOWN?!?! Great intimate space and if it's general admission, make sure you get there semi-early so you can be close to the stage!

Yelp
I love, love, love this place! I think it's a great place to see concerts - it's a small and intimate setting. And you can see the stage from anywhere with a great view.

Yelp
Love the sloped floor for GA shows - wish more venues did this. Great sound & sight lines.

Yelp
Here to see Sylvester and the show was scheduled for 7pm and didn't start on time. Additionally. We were forced to stand outside until 7:45pm. Place is not organized well at all. It's now 08:20 and the band just came on stage. I hope this show is worth it. Started @8:30p. Will update review after the show. So, the show was fabulous and I hope they make it to Broadway. People really enjoyed themselves and this show. Bravo!!!! You've found a friend!

Yelp
Not bad. I came here last year to watch Sam Tsui performing with KHS. I really liked it! The venu's bathroom is tiny and small, but relatively clean. Ventilation was bad. I read about the ventilation issue via previous yelpers' reviews so I was somewhat prepared. However, someone passed out during that concert and I think that person was okay. Sam Tsui saw that happening and took a break from performing to make sure that guest was okay. I was in the standing area but there were seats in the back, which i was confused about. It was a concert and I didn't know why people were sitting down towards the back? And do you pay extra for seats? What was also confusing was its coat check process. I bought advanced coat check for $5 alongside my concert ticket. When I arrived at the venue, I saw walk-in coat-check available for $4. What?

Yelp
Gramercy's alright. It's an OK spot to see music acts, but it's not one of my favorite venues in Manhattan for a few reasons. -- Just never got into the acts that get booked (but that's a music preference thing) -- The floor plan is a little weird for me (the seating in the back and the standing area in front seem too close because it's a small space) -- Drinks are way too expensive Of course, there are positives. -- The people who work there do a good job, are nice, and helpful (that's my experience) -- It's clean more or less (no sticky floors - you know you've been to venues in NYC where your shoes stick to the floor) ...Yeah, it's an A-OK rating from me. If you find a well-priced show at Gramercy Theatre that you're interested in seeing, check it out for yourself. If you have time before the show, consider beforehand getting drinks - maybe during a dinner - around the Union Square area nearby (a few blocks south).

Yelp
This is a nice quaint theater for comedy, stage shows or special screenings in the heart of the Gramercy section of the city. Came here last week for a one man show and definitely enjoyed the ambiance of the the theater and the history of it. Would want to come here again for any shows that I happen to be interested in. Not to mention they have a full bar which is also a plus.

Yelp
I been here a few times this year. I really love this theater. I like how it's small and intimate. You can get really close to the stage, yet also sit back and relax and enjoy the show. The place is pretty decent for all of the people throwing stuff around and acting a fool. The employees/bartenders are always nice. The bathrooms are well kept. I love the downstairs where if you wanna sit and relax you can catch a breather. The drinks are pretty reasonable as well. Overall 5 stars for always having a good time here!

Yelp
Apparently Gramercy and staff enjoy seeing guests freeze their fingers and toes off. Came for a girl's night to catch a show of the Chippendales tour on a Friday night ... Arrived a few minutes before reported door time -the tickets said 8pm- only stand in line, for no reason as this was a show with assigned seats, NOT general admission. It was about 25 minutes after 8pm that we were let in. After that, it was smooth sailing as far as scanning tickets and bag check. This was my first time at Gramercy so I wasn't aware of their seating arrangement ahead of time which led me to be extremely disappointed with my seat. I purchased three seats in the middle of the row in what they call the "loge". Being up close and personal wasn't really my intention anyway but I have a major problem when my view is obstructed by two baldies in the DJ/audio booth. How about a little disclaimer beforehand during my actual purchase?! And I'm sure it's the same for most if not all events that go on here. That said, avoid rows EE, FF, GG and perhaps even HH, seats 104-107 as the booth blocks part of the stage. There was plenty of time to waste as the show didn't start until after 9pm. In the meanwhile, I visited the bathroom which was clean but small for the most part. The drink specials were great, creative but pricey. The staff, however, was rude. At one point one of the guys practically pushed aside a lady who was kind enough to take a photo of us girls. No "excuse me" or "sorry". Outside the guards were unfriendly and barked orders instead of speaking to us politely. Because of our view, we decided to just ditch our seats and stand on the "floor" behind the last row. At one point I was actually standing on the first step for a better view. And we weren't the only ones to do so. The staff didn't bother us at all about us standing so that made up for their flaws. Small venue with some obstructed seats and rather unpleasant staff/guards. Good thing I went for the half-naked dancing guys instead of atmosphere.

Yelp
It's tough to separate a venue from the show you see there, so I must admit I've only been to this theatre for a standup comedy special. If this was indicative of every night at Gramercy Theatre, then: They book quality talent. The drinks are entirely too expensive. It's an intimate and outstanding place to see a show, with very few bad seats. The staff is efficient and professional and rightfully think my wife is too good-looking for me (they wanted to put her up front for the taping, and all but told me to hide my hideous face behind her when the cameras came around). All in all, I'm a fan (yay!).
