Gran Canaria, one of the islands of the Canary Islands archipelago, is a true natural paradise that offers diverse and impressive beauty. Known as a “miniature continent” for its variety of landscapes, the island is perfect for those seeking a combination of stunning beaches, imposing mountains and a rich culture. 1. Paradise Beaches Gran Canaria is famous for its golden sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Playa de Maspalomas, with its extensive dunes that resemble a desert, is one of the most iconic. Playa de Amadores, with its calm waters and a family atmosphere, enchants with the turquoise tone of the sea. 2. Mountains and Wild Nature In the center of the island, you will find impressive rock formations such as Roque Nublo, a natural monument that offers breathtaking panoramic views. The surrounding trekking trails allow you to immerse yourself in nature and connect with the spirituality of the place. Another unmissable attraction is Pico de las Nieves, the highest point on the island, which offers wonderful views, especially at sunset.

If you drive through the center of the island the scenery is some of the most stunning anywhere in the world. Those who give it one star probably never left their hotel.!!

Was ok, but preferred tenerife. Gran canaria seems to have swingers clubs on every other street and stinks of piss where the blokes piss anywhere that suits. O AND DONT GO to the jet ski place (see photo) BLUE OCEAN SPORTS on the beach at San agustin, nasty people there that will rip you off

It's a very rocky island, with so much to do. Obviously the heat needs to be mentioned. Over 25° every day. From the UK, it's a 4 hour flight. Hundreds of hotels and apartments to choose from. Taxis are a great way to get around. Lots of bus services all over the place. Some are free. People are very friendly and want to wait on you. Food is a mix of Spanish and English. This is the second visit and will probably be more to come.

:) Gran Canaria has so many possibilities for adventures. Highly recommend the public transit, hiking routes, beaches. Note: Bottled water is required for safe drinking water for the majority of the island. Sunscreen is not cheap here. There are very few public toilets and even fewer accessible toilets. Sundays and holidays have very limited services open outside of main tourist areas. Garbage disposal options are very limited in remote areas, please pack out what you pack in. Pack for the weather you can't predict as it can happen. Especially if your planning to travel in the interior of the island.

Great nature, exotic landscapes and beaches. I used to have the misconception about Gran Canaria being a tourist destination for retired people, but I realised that I was wrong. It is a great destination for hikers and beach goers, too. I really enjoyed my one week stay on this island. I explored all over the island, and my experience was indeed memorable,
