"In Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, the Grand Bohemian Charlotte offers a lively escape inspired by the Viennese secession art movement and a fusion of Argentinian and European cultures. Around every corner, you’ll find original artwork by international talents. Step into the lobby and marvel at the gleaming porcelain floor, meticulously paired with a sleek stainless steel front desk. Admire the gold-leaf barrel vault ceiling and mural by artist Sarah Pelfrey, featuring crystal swallows symbolizing luck and prosperity. Also, find pieces by Buenos Aires artist Andrea Carreras, including a modern depiction of the story of Lady Godiva on her horse, located to the left of the front desk, and the signature bohemian horse statue by Jiang Tiefeng. Find more Argentinian influences at Mico Restaurant, where colorful murals, gold-leaf columns, and custom chandeliers, all inspired by Argentina’s landscapes, fill the space. Andrea Carreras’ paintings also grace the walls. The artistic atmosphere continues within the rooftop bar, Búho, which offers an imaginative selection of cocktails and South American-inspired tapas that are perfect for sharing. The theme continues in the guest rooms—as you exit the elevator, notice the work by Max Pedreira hanging on the corridor walls. Follow the tango dancer’s fan on the custom carpet to your room, where leather headboards pay homage to the country’s heritage. The iron gates from Buenos Aires’s Paz Palace inspire the room’s drapes, while Pablo Santibanez Servat’s portraits are on the nightstands."

"It’s smack dab in Uptown, but step inside the Grand Bohemian and you’ll feel more like you’re in Miami or South America than buttoned up Charlotte. It’s the epitome of unexpected, with a design aesthetic that’s joie de vivre mixed with a sexy spirit. Bold colors and dazzling accents define the look. Business travelers who don’t want to forsake flair frequent this hotel, along with leisure travelers looking for more of a scene. But while it may have a boutique hotel look and feel, it’s decidedly a Marriott when it comes to service. Expect all of the niceties, with an added bonus: a partnership with BMW means you can be shuttled about town in an X7. (no reservations required; offered on a complimentary basis.)" - Nancy DePalma

"Why book? Shake things up with a stay at the funky-splashy Grand Bohemian. Set the scene It’s smack dab in Uptown, but step inside the Grand Bohemian and you’ll feel more like you’re in Miami or South America than buttoned up Charlotte. The backstory It’s boutique hotel-minded with the backing of a big brand—Marriott—and part of their Autograph Collection.  The rooms Don’t expect gray-and-white palettes in these rooms. Instead, they’re full of personality—and color (think emerald-green chaises, fuchsia window treatments, and patterned headboards). The bathrooms are black-and-white sleek intermixed with mood-lifting contemporary artwork.  Food and drink Sexy spaces for dining and drinking would be expected here, and they’ve outdone themselves. Mico Restaurant isn’t for wallflowers (though you’ll find plenty of floral patterns on the furnishings, curtains and art). All-day dining is available, and breakfast never seemed so cool than while sipping coffee in this space. Meanwhile, the equally eye-catching Búho Bar may be on the rooftop, but the best views are within this swanky spot.  The neighborhood/area It’s Uptown, so you’ll be within walking distance to it all.  The service While it may have a boutique hotel look and feel, it’s decidedly a Marriott when it comes to service. Expect all of the niceties, with an added bonus: a partnership with BMW means you can be shuttled about town in an X7. (no reservations required; offered on a complimentary basis.) Anything left to mention? The seductive and singular styling ensures that there’s no shortage of selfie-loving scenesters here." - Nancy DePalma

It all started with being greeted by David and his valet team. Easy check in. Really cool vibe and great room. The rooftop bar, Buho, was awesome. Daunte took great care of my wife and I and mixed us up some great drinks. One night stay for a concert at Middle C Jazz Club which is an awesome venue. Highly recommend The Grand Bohemian. Will stay there again next time we're in Charlotte.

I picked this hotel because it seemed like the most affordable hotel that was within walking distance of Bank of America Stadium. It's nice, it's the nicest place I've ever stayed for sure. All the employees that I spoke to were wonderful, there's lots of artwork everywhere (including a gallery on the 4th floor), the Mico restaurant had really delicious food, there's a Starbucks inside, and a nice terrace area on the 6th floor with a good view of the city. Obviously it's pricey for an average person like myself. I guess it's not so bad for a one time special occasion, but I really think it's too expensive for how little you actually get. The valet parking is great, but it's $48 a night which seems excessive when the only other option is also paying for parking somewhere else that's probably less safe than the hotel. The restaurant was really good but I don't think they should charge guests the same as they charge everybody who comes in. So yeah I think it's overpriced, but overall I had a good experience and I think it was worth it for one weekend.

Fabulous experience. David was the best. |Room was clean and spacious. Every request was kindly received and executed. The rooms were lovely and we greatly enjoyed the room service and bar offerings. It was a perfect location for a night in Charlotte.

Sad to have to write a negative review but all the positive reviews are what led me to choose this hotel for my birthday celebration. It is a beautiful hotel but that’s where the “luxury” begins and ends. The rooftop bar was lackluster and furniture had noticeable stains on it. Food at Mico was terrible. I have no idea why or how people are recommending to dine there. You have to be a platinum member to have access to the Executive Lounge and that sucks since Starbucks closes at 6pm and they do not have a store in the hotel. Please also do not ignore complaints about how noisy it is! It is really bad and the front desk ran out of ear plugs so we were out of luck. Valet staff was on point but I would not recommend this hotel.

Stunning and unique hotel that exceeded our every expectation. The service and hospitality were impeccable, the rooms are beautifully appointed, and the location is perfect for walkability. The amenities and features of the room were luxurious, from the comfortable bed and pillows, to the huge, walk-in shower, to the bathrobes and extras, to the gorgeous artwork. Every detail made the stay feel special and high-end. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in Charlotte.

We had an early check-in and were thankful that Josue was able to accommodate us with a room rather quickly. We met Horace in the lobby when we were checking in and he offered to bring coffee straight to our room. It was hot and delicious! He invited us to get a lite bite at Mico which we did and then explored the city by foot. Lots of good restaurants and bars within a short walking distance. The room was comfortable and roomy!

Bohemian Spa in Charlotte has always been my go-to hotel for a staycation. My sister and I decided to treat ourselves to a spa day, so I called and made a reservation. Later that same day, I received a call saying there might have been a mistake transcribing a digit from my credit card. I let them know I was away from my office but would call back as soon as I returned. I followed up, left a message, and called again the next day and even the day before our scheduled appointment—still no response. When we arrived for our noon appointment, we were told there was no record of it, and no one had reached out to inform us. The woman at the front desk was not welcoming and had a noticeably unpleasant demeanor. We were able to reschedule for the next available appointment at 4 PM. While waiting, we visited the restaurant, where Ray, the hotel manager, went out of her way to make things right. She was kind, professional, and provided excellent customer service—one of the few positives from our experience. We returned to the spa at 3:50 PM for our 4 PM appointment. We waited patiently, but a couple who came in after us was taken back right away. By 4:15, we were still sitting in the lobby with no update. When I asked the receptionist, she casually said the earlier appointment had run over—no apology, no acknowledgment of our wait. After wasting our entire day, we ended up leaving without ever receiving a massage or spa service. I’m extremely disappointed and will never return. If you’re going to charge $250+ for spa services, the customer care and professionalism should match—and sadly, this experience did not even come close.

Very unprofessional and poor communication. I booked massages at the spa for my daughter and myself. I had tried calling beforehand to confirm they would take her because she is underage but got voicemail and it took them several days to return my call so I booked online, after carefully reading their policies. Nothing stated they would not allow her to get a massage. She has had massages before at multiple resorts and knows how to conduct herself but I know that some places will not give massage services to minors so thought it best to confirm. When I received the confirmation email with intake form, I completed for her with her birth date. It asked that I notify them if she was under 18 so I called again to do so. They said that was not a problem as long as I consented and since we booked a couples massage, we would be together at all times. The week before our appointment, they called back and said her therapist was no longer available at her scheduled time so they could not honor her appointment. I asked if we could reschedule and they did reschedule both of us for an appointment earlier the same day. The girl who rescheduled us said that this was a better option because this other therapist was the only one who works on minors. I questioned her earlier reason for my daughter's therapist not being available by asking why she was assigned to her if she did not work on minors and she said that was not the issue. I clarified that we were all set, they could provide massage service for my daughter and we would not have any disappointing surprises. She said we were good. A few hours later I got an email from them stating our appointments were cancelled because my daughter is underage. I called to get an explanation and am still waiting for a return call two days later. Our appointments were supposed to be this Sat. My daughter and I are very disappointed as this was supposed to be a celebration for her and we were very much looking forward to our spa day. With other plans booked, we are still traveling 7 hours but will not be able to have the celebration we planned. I understand if this is their policy but they should have been up front about it so we were not misled and had time to make other plans. I communicated her age at multiple points and they never said it was an issue until a week out with a nameless email to which they will not respond. I am a faithful Marriott customer and expected better service, even if the policy was not what we wanted. No excuse for misleading, lack of communication and last minute failure to deliver!

Yelp
I swear this is one of the best hotels we have in Charlotte! It has a restaurant on the bottom called Mico which is really good and the rooftop bar called Buho, you don't even have to leave the hotel. The rooms are also beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Valet and Front desk have great customer service as well. IG: @StephColleen

Yelp
The Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte was the perfect choice to stay for a friend's wedding weekend. The rooftop bar, Buho, provided ideal settings for wedding guest gatherings and post-ceremony celebrations. Our room was a luxurious retreat, beautifully decorated and offering a beautiful park view. The hotel's artistic decor, friendly staff, and convenient location made our stay wonderful.

Yelp
The Grand Bohemian Charlotte team was fantastic across the board and made hubby's birthday stay incredible! The property is gorgeous, the room was perfect, restaurants were delicious, and we had a blast. From arrival to the rooftop we experienced amazing customer care at this location with wonderful added touches that made our stay super special -- we are sure to return!

Yelp
Not worth the moolah. Restaurants and wine bar are good but would rather come and visit those two places without staying in the hotel. Hotel A/C was not working properly. So hot at night and didn't get below maybe 69 degrees in the room. Listen. I'm over 45 and a girl needs it to be lower than that or my body feels like it's going to ignite and burst into flames. (Drama queen is me) We did end up telling them that at checkout but by then it was too late. Another thing was at time of check-in, they thanked us for being reward members and told us they could upgrade us to a "higher floor with a better view". Wahoo! I never get upgraded with anything! Um...the view was looking straight into offices and the side of the building. *scratches head* um....so what was the other room y'all had us in?! I wondered what the view was in that room? I guess it wasn't necessary and the view wasn't better. Room service wasn't presented the best. It was good but just put in these plastic boxes. Our meat and cheese board was jumbled together when we opened it. Last...THE LOUD GUESTS roaming up and down the hallway at 2-4 in the morning!!! Slamming their room doors and talking super loud. I know it's a hotel but C'MON?! We ain't in the ghetto and we are supposed to be in a nicer hotel...why were the guests acting like they had never been in a hotel before?! And it was a Sunday night...go lay down! Not the hotel's fault per se but as you can tell...I didn't sleep well and woke up irritated. Stay elsewhere. We love doing staycations in Uptown and have visited several others for around the same price. This one was our least favorite. OH! One more thing....the bathroom lighting was "down lighting" casting shadows and it made it difficult to put on makeup soooo not ideal and extremely dark. Ok I'm done.

Yelp
Exceptional customer service. We're Charlotte locals but couldn't leave town for our anniversary so we chose to stay here and hang out uptown. Close proximity to everything uptown. Beautiful decor. Checked in on our phone. We chose to do valet. They (valet) sent us on our way at checkout with two bottled waters. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, Mico. It was restaurant week and Mico was on the list but we chose not to go simply because the dinner menu isn't my husbands style. But breakfast looked good and it was! Rene was the hostess and hands down the best hostess I've ever encountered. It was such a short encounter that left a memorable impression. She was friendly, engaging, it appeared she truly enjoyed her job, she seemed to love life and people without being over the top. Every establishment should have someone like Rene to welcome guests. She really set the tone. Then our server was Horace. He also was friendly, engaging, humorous, attentive to our needs. And not just ours, he provided the same level of service to all of his tables. Our food was delicious. We tried a few things: waffle, fruit (fresh), hot tea (wide selection), churros (they were ok but I've had churros in Spain so my standards are pretty high, the sauce is made in house). Our actual room was beautiful. Bed was comfortable. It was clean. This is definitely not your typical hotel experience. Perfect for our anniversary.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights and for the most part had an excellent stay. Location is fantastic and we could walk to everything we were interested in. It was also a nice easy drive to the airport when we departed. Staff was friendly and welcoming, and we had been upgraded to the 14th floor when we arrived. That came with benefits for the executive lounge which was actually 3 star at best. Light snacks is all you get here and there is no *continental breakfast* that they tell you is included. We found that they consider this Cliff Bars or they had some tiny scones laid out with coffee. The snacks were pretty good though for the day, and you do get complimentary water and non alcoholic beverages at your fingertips. The evening hors d'oeuvres were simply veggies/humus and crackers/pimento spread. Definitely not what I am used to for Marriott executive lounges which provide a bit more robust offerings... but we were not there for this so it was fine. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. Pretty standard but very nice in that they did turn down service and made sure we had water in the room. Loved the little Nespresso machine and sleep quality in terms of the bed/linens was great. One callout, that made me take it down a star was we were over the rooftop area where they were holding a party and the walls and/or windows were not sound proof by any stretch of the imagination. Until 10:30PM we heard the live band, then DJ for a party that was happening as if it was right in our room. We had an early wake up for our flight out so it was a tad annoying but thankfully it stopped at 10:30 or so. You may want to ask to stay on the other side of the building if you are sensitive to noise. We ate breakfast one morning in Mica. It was delicious and our server was phenomenal and attentive. He and my husband ended up gabbing about home improvements, he was such a pleasure to interact with. Oh and the Steelcut Oats here are exceptional! We had one of our breakfasts comped with a coupon provided at check-in. I was a bit disappointed at that as usually for my Marriott status, I am provided comp breakfast for me and one guest.

Yelp
Beautiful quirky eclectic hotel located in the heart of Charlotte. Amenities are in the room are plentiful and thoughtful. There is an executive lounge for elite members and a restaurant and bar. Every associate encountered was very friendly and helpful - shout out to Nolan who worked the exec lounge. He was wonderful and made thoughtful conversation and even remembered what I needed for my drink- ice!

Todd G.

Yelp
Very nice Hotel. Excellent service. All in the this very nice Marriott property. Attention to detail is present. Comfortable room and as a regular traveler... very comfortable beds and over all stay. I really enjoyed the decor and swanky vibe. i Have stayed here a few times and my goto hotel here. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Three words describe our experience: Disappointing...very disappointing. The two-night stay started out nicely. The desk clerk was smooth and we were in our room very quickly. We soon went out for the evening and didn't really notice the Not-So-Good items until the next day. Like the leftover trash in our room's recycle container. Like a carpet that hadn't been properly vacuumed. Like the floor in the Fitness Center that hadn't been cleaned in days. Like the ice machine on our floor that didn't operate. Like the roof-top bar that was closed. But the home-run in the Not-So-Good Department was the dog. In the room next to ours. Left un-attended. Barking non-stop, at 10 PM Christmas Eve. We promptly packed up and left the hotel, arriving at our home sometime around midnight. Finally, a good night's sleep was assured. So keep this in mind if you plan on staying at The Grand Bohemian Charlotte. It could be that nothing will prevent management from renting the room next to you to a guest who has an unruly animal with them. Who knows? Maybe an unruly animal was even with the previous guest who stayed in your room! Regardless of what you may spend, this is not a first-class hotel. I'm sure that you can do much better staying elsewhere in Uptown Charlotte. I know that I will.

Kyle B.

Yelp
Good stay. Staff at the desk was very friendly. Hallways and rooms were mordern & extremely clean. The bathroom is very large, and the shower was great. In a good location in the middle of everything. Very nice views of Uptown. Didn't get to make it to the executive lounge, hopefully next time.

Trish B.

Yelp
The rooftop restaurant/ bar at the Bohemian hotel has a swanky Latin atmosphere. The rooftop has good views and the service is decent with friendly staff. A couple of the bar tenders have bubbly personalities and give good recommendations. Make sure to try the flat bread and wine. This rooftop would be so lovely for a date right at sunset or a nightcap. I love how during the day the light comes in If you go enjoy.

Yelp
literally one of the best hotel experiences i've had in a while. business trip to clt and think i paid ~$250 but room amenities and overall experience better than ritz in town or elsewhere platinum lounge is super nice with a very cool host nolan and excellent espresso machine and the right treats fitness room primo room large and super comfortable what puts this place over the top though is the decor which is really interesting paintings and attention to detail, almost like a wes anderson movie. i've compared the luxness to the ritz but another relevant comparison is the W concept, which to me never felt homey, always felt a little too hip for its own good, trying too hard whereas this hotel is like your cool cousin who looks like brad pitt but has never settled down and had kids like the rest of us, and last we heard from him, he's teaching english and surfing nazare

Alex L.

Yelp
I stated at the hotel for a wedding. I left my dress in the closet and called back immediately after leaving, however, I was directed to a link to see if housekeeping found my item. No update on my item after almost 30 days. The dress was in a garment bag with my name on it. Unsure how this was not turned in.

Creighton F.

Yelp
Short staycation but well worth it. Loved all the snacks provided in the executive lounge.

Yelp
This weekend while driving from Atlanta to Boston by way of Washington, D.C., I realized I'd need to find a place to stop between ATL and DC as I was struggling to stay awake. Being the neurotic, hotel snob on a budget that am, I diligently researched the best hotel in the area from my Marriott groups and the answer was almost unanimous: the Grand Bohemian was the place to go. I used my FNA and for a total of 9,000 extra points, I checked into this hotel. Y'all. It's gorgeous, despite being incredibly busy with at least one wedding and one other private party, the staff is friendly and helpful - I'm schlepping two small coolers of food (chicken+waffles and several miniature pies) and they offered to keep the coolers in their walk in fridge/freezer, as the rooms only have wine coolers. Bed was comfy. Valet and front desk were incredibly kind and so quick. Hotel provided shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing and made my curly hair look fabulous and smooth. ONLY complaint which is the most first world problem ever: No ability to connect to Netflix without using Chromecast. Very mildly bummed as I've been wanting to finish Band Of Brothers. But really, I needed to sleep so that was likely a blessing in disguise. This hotel joins my short list of hotels I feel comfortable in (joining the ranks of Moana Surfrider, Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City, Renaissance Arlington Capitol View, and Newport Marriott). I'd give it 4.7 stars, as it was close to perfect and I gotta save my 5 stars so they truly mean it was all around exceptional.

Corey S.

Yelp
Beds are horrible standard Marriott hard AF mattress myswell sleep on a sheet of plywood. Exec lounge breakfast is a diabetic coma only crappy small pastries. Room service is a joke they have to text you a message for the menu which my anti spam was eating or thier service was broken sending the text. Just like every hotel Marriott touches anymore it's a 1-2 star experience at best in the United States. About time to go back to Hilton I guess.

Jim M.

Yelp
Pretty cool modern hotel. Not sure if it's worth to upgrade to the 16th floor. Nice folks. Great access to Morton's. Clean hotel. I will go back.

S C.

Yelp
Recently enjoyed a staycation here. Everyone I interacted with provided great customer service. Kori and Nolen in the Executive Lounge (they had on name tags but I didn't have my glasses on so hopefully I spelled their names correctly) were so friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was efficient. Keep in mind Valet is the only parking option and a bit pricey, and due to the location the street noise can be an issue at night if you're a light sleeper. The location is walking distance to so many things though so that's the trade off of being in the city.

Kendra B.

Yelp
Overall a nice, clean hotel in the heart of uptown. The decor was unique and trendy and the beds were comfy. The only con, and this isn't something the hotel would have much control over, is the fact that it is uptown so the outside noises may keep you up pretty late. We were on the 14th floor which gave us beautiful city views, but this was also pretty close to the rooftop lounge and the walls were pretty thin. We could hear conversations as well as noises from the traffic below.

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
If you are looking for a luxurious, unique and high-quality hotel, dinner restaurant and rooftop bar for a special occasion in uptown Charlotte, the Grand Bohemian, MICO and Búho are the perfect options! We did a one-night "staycation" at The Grand Bohemian to celebrate my birthday and were lucky to snag a reservation at MICO. We loved the vibe (Argentinian with tons of gorgeous original art everywhere), and all of the hostesses and waiters were very warm and friendly. We got a great bottle of Spanish wine, and our waiter brought us two yummy little biscuits and an "amuse-bouche" (a tiny complimentary appetizer - this one was a little lobster tostada and it was incredible), then we ordered the sausage croquette, which came with a poached egg on top and had a delicious sweet vinegar drizzled on top - SO good. We both agreed that our entrees might have been the best dishes we have ever eaten - I had the 6-hour braised lamb shank (which quite literally fell off the bone and was served over a flavorful polenta with mushrooms and carrots), and my husband got the KC strip with a homemade chimichurri sauce (that steak... WOW). We were so full from the meal but didn't even think twice about not getting a dessert, and we were thankful we did, because the "chocotorta" that we ordered may have been the best tasting thing of the whole meal. Absolutely exquisite. My only critique from the experience would be that the service was a tad slow (although I understand that this is likely due to staffing shortages), but honestly that just meant we got to spend more time in this gorgeous restaurant (before heading up to Buho, the hotel's amazing rooftop bar), so we didn't even mind. We will DEFINITELY make this our new special occasion spot!

Yelp
My favorite hotel in Charlotte, though a few small flaws. Grand Bohemian hotel is an autograph collection hotel for Marriott, their upscale boutique luxury chain. Located in the Heart of Charlotte, close to plenty of dining of attractions. The hotel facade hearkens back to classical architecture, but the interior is very modern. Valet all have signature bright red sneakers, and are very welcoming. Very small lobby, though there is a nice restaurant with an impressive bar located right next to the lobby and elevators. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially at all times of day. 16 or so floors, with a great club lounge on top (full of great snacks and drinks!). Elevators are quick so never a long wait. Gym is also at the top with every machine you need for a full featured workout. The rooftop bar / lounge is amazing when it opens, which unfortunately is only the latter days of the week. But some of the best views of Charlotte. The rooms are very luxurious, with comfortable sofas / furniture, plenty of space, and huge bathrooms. Windows are not floor to ceiling but close enough, though you are usually only seeing office buildings across the street. Wifi is excellent, free bottled water in the room, and excellent bath products. Only other downside is parking can be expensive (street parking is impossible, valet is astronomical). But otherwise an amazing stay.

M R.

Yelp
We prefer the Grand Bohemian over the JW Marriott when we are traveling through Charlotte. The lobby is quiet with a subtle trademark scent (that is available for sale). Street noise is minimal, bed is comfortable, and pillows are adequate. I prefer a dark room for sleeping, and there was a lot of light in the room at night from the air purifier, clock, glass door beverage fridge and the light switches. The bathroom is dark and moody. The shower was not great, and the shower floor was dangerously slippery, as noted in another review. Recommend placing a hand towel on the shower floor. There is no shelf or niche in the shower for personal toiletry items. Bathroom light had a dimmer, but makeup mirror didn't have a light. The spa was closed for renovations, so I wasn't able to check it out. The club level only has chips, snacks, beverages and a coffee machine and does not serve breakfast. The MICO restaurant is exceptional for dinner! Breakfast had the same exceptional service as dinner with food that is better than most hotels. The breakfast potatoes were dry and not worth the upcharge. Seriously, this restaurant is a factor in choosing to drive through Charlotte versus a more direct route on I-95.

Yelp
What a great experience at GBH Charlotte! Our party of 15, in town for business, were very pleased with our room rate given how beautiful the accommodations are. Thank you to Sydney Gorman for helping us make our reservation and securing our agreement for the event. At the venue, Lilia and Demetrius were absolutely BRILLIANT in their service and care and professionalism. Everyone loved their breakfasts and lunches. Rave reviews! Everything is made fresh on-site and you can taste the difference. A Starbucks is conveniently located on the first floor and Búho Bar is a rooftop treat. Everyone from the valet team to the Front Desk and housekeeping were the sweetest people. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here at GBH Charlotte - you will too.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Funky, luxurious and comfy the Grand Bohemian Hotel was my favorite part of visiting Charlotte. My husband and I took a somewhat random trip to Charlotte and since we're huge fans of Marriott's unique Autograph hotels we decided to stay at the Grand Bohemian. I believe the Grand Bohemian opened in mid-2020 and it is located in Uptown within walking distance to many great restaurants. We like Autograph hotels because they are always unique and have a boutique feel to them. Although Bohemian isn't a style I would choose for my own home I sure did love the colorful and funky decor throughout the hotel. We stayed in a corner suite which had a living room with a huge TV, a bedroom with a King bed, and a bathroom with a dual vanity, oval soaking tub and walk in shower. It was quiet, comfortable and spacious. As a frequent traveler I appreciate the details at hotels and immediately noticed Grand Bohemian's dimmable lighting, a lamp with a built in nightlight, TVs with screen casting and water bottle filling stations. I do wish this room had a few more USB ports though in the bedroom. The elevators at Grand Bohemian were really cool. The controls were on the outside and instead of pushing a button to go up or down you select your floor, the touch panel tells you which cab to get into and then its a private ride to your floor. That was really nice especially given the pandemic. Maybe I've been living under a rock but that is the first time I've seen an elevator like that. As far as hotel amenities goes we enjoyed the lobby Starbucks and the gym. We skipped the restaurants (Mico on ground floor and something on the rooftop) and the spa. The gym was decent with a handful of cardio machines, a Peloton bike, a cable machine, dumbbells and such. Also the views from the gym were nice. Having Starbucks in the lobby was nice so we didn't have to navigate the Nespresso machine in our room. We skipped Mico and the rooftop bar because we had a pretty casual wardrobe with us and thought we might be a tad under dressed. But given the hotel's great location we appreciated being able to walk to many great restaurants like Stoke, Tupelo Honey and Mimosa Grill. We also liked being able to walk to nearby attractions like the Levine Museum of the New South. Everything seemed very clean so kudos to the staff members who are responsible for keeping everything spic and span. Shout out to the front desk staff, valet staff and rooftop bar host/bouncer person. The front desk staff was always friendly and the valet staff were on it - quickly greeting guests, clearing cars and retrieving cars. One of the best hotel valet operations I've seen. Also, I want to thank the rooftop bar host/hostess/bouncer person (I clearly have no idea what the correct title is!) that stands in the lobby and manages the crowd waiting for the rooftop bar. They were great about creating a right-of-way for hotel guests to get through the crowd and on the elevators to get back to their rooms which I fully appreciated. I had some issues with the Marriott Bonvoy wifi working and I had to reconnect to the Grand Bohemian Guest wifi every time I came back to the room so that was a little bit of a nuisance. But, overall we had a terrific stay at the Grand Bohemian in Charlotte and really enjoyed the property and staff.

Yelp
Frustrated and disgusted with this hotel. the first night of my 41st solo bday trip I entered the right side of the bed and 5 minutes later decided to scoot over the the left side, pulling covers back and saw I was laying next to menstruation/period stains. I specifically flew in from Jacksonville, Florida, choosing this hotel to bring in my birthday with rest and relaxation in their beautiful, curated rooms. I was appalled, a hotel spends so much money and time on beautification, but misses the mark on cleanliness, which is the upmost important component. I asked that a manager call me to discuss and no one reached out to me. If I was an upper echelon guest I'm sure I would have gotten the attention I needed. I saved up my hard earned money to stay I. This fine upscale hotel to rest and needless to say this set my mental state off and I was uncomfortable for the duration of my days. Big vibe buster. I did the survey and got a generic we will let house keeping no. Like no personable care.

Yelp
We stayed at the Grand Bohemian in Uptown Charlotte for my husband's birthday. We were immediately greeted by valet when we arrived (after having a hard time figuring out how to get to valet/checkin). We finally found that the entrance for valet/checkin is on Church Street even though the address is listed as W Trade. I was assisted by Victoria at checkin and asked about an upgrade but none were available for the entire stay which was no big deal. Never hurts to ask...lol. However, they do have an amenities list which you can order items such as wine, French macarons, strawberry fondue, etc. to have delivered to the room. I found all of the options to be very pricey and opted not to have anything delivered. There are plenty of doormen/valets to assist with luggage and every time we left or came back they opened the doors for us. Valet is $35/night and they have a texting system to let them know you would like your vehicle. They advised to allow them 5-10 mins after you text to have your vehicle brought around. Masks are required to be worn at all times (both guests and staff) and social distancing is enforced in the lobby, as well as in the elevators. Internet is not complementary so we just used the data on our phones. We stayed in a king room and the decor is what I imagine boho chic/art deco to be. The bathroom has a "water closet" and then your vanity and very nice sized shower. I loved the toiletries by the sink (face soap, lotion and mouthwash) and in the shower (shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body soap). The room is nicely decorated with unique end tables, a dresser/desk combo and a fainting style sofa. The bed is firm. Very firm. We also found the room hard to get cool. We really enjoyed everything about the hotel from the staff to the location of it in Uptown. The only downside of the stay was the bed as neither of us slept well. I doubt we would stay here again but I do want to say that Matt Cahill with valet is one of the kindest people I have ever met in the hospitality industry and it is a genuine kindness which is hard to find anywhere these days.

Yelp
I live in North Carolina and read about the Autograph that opened in Charlotte this past summer so I thought this might be a nice local getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday. I have been to the Grand Bohemian in Asheville and absolutely loved everything about it. I was expecting the same level of style, service and hospitality yet Charlotte's Autograph does not come close. I save my Marriott Rewards points for occasions like this and thought it would be nice to use my rewards for a one night stay in the Queen City. Valet: The hotel is located on Trade Street in a busy part of town and has a parking deck where you can valet for $35 a night. The valet was very busy and cars wrapped around as the team was running around trying to get all the cars in and out. They are efficient with a ticketing text system and look sporty in the red and black uniform to match the branding of the hotel. Front desk: I have learned that the service here can either make or break the experience. We were greeted and asked if we were here for any particular occasion and I said a local getaway. I was asked if I am familiar with the Autograph collection as a brand and I responded that I knew about the art and boutique style. I am pregnant and really wanted a room with a bath tub. The front desk agent saw that I had an upgrade with my Marriott status and there are only tubs in the suites from what I understand yet somehow all 32 suites must have been occupied. I was thanked for my Marriott loyalty but it clearly means nothing if you don't receive any perks for your points or level. My profile also says "high floor" and we were put on the 6th floor where you do hear all kinds of street noise at night. Elevators: There are 4 elevators and for safety reasons, you have to swipe your hotel key card to access your floor. There is a lounge on the 16th floor and we wanted to go check it out but the lobby was so packed when we left for dinner we did not even want to try to go up with the security and busy elevators. Rooms: We had a simple king room, not bath tub. The showers are solid black and the floors are very slippery and dangerous. The beauty products appear to be Aveda's Rosemary Mint collection put in Kessler bottles. Comfortable beds, big television and a pretty turquoise Chaise lounge. Cleanliness: When I picked up a towel, there was a huge chuck of hair that was not mine or my husband's in the stack. Yuck. All in all, I will not choose this hotel when returning to the Queen City. It is not a 4 star in my mind and after staying at the Grand Bohemian in Asheville, I truly understand what the brand is about and should deliver from a service and hospitality perspective.

Yelp
This was a weird hotel. The room I had viewed a terrace that played rather loud music. Like loud enough that you cannot ignore it and enough that you have to pause a meeting adn run down to the lobby and tell them your conference call does not need to hear your music as nice as you think it is. I loved the decor, but the hotel fell short. I am a Hilton guy so I am biased but it was within our limit and i wanted to try it. The valet was quick so that was good and nothing more can be said about that. The check in girl was clueless. I asked her for an upgrade and she looked like I asked if she could give a $100 bill. She said no. The starbuck onsite was quite nice and aside from that, I did not eat their food but ordered ubereats. The desk and bed were nice. The appliances were unique and the one lamp I could not figure out to turn on and i like to consider myself a logical and intuitive person but devil be me I would not figure it out. I would save your money and go elsewhere. The kimpton was nice.

Yelp
I was so excited about getting to stay at this hotel. The only thing I was hating was that it was going to be such a brief stay. Now I doubt I will ever come back! The decorations and ambiance is great. Some of the fabrics are already showing as dingy though. The bathroom is spacious and has a lot of upscale features. Including a stand alone deep tub. But the linens are inadequate. They have mandatory vale. We are Titanium Elite and used one of our 10 upgrades for the corner Park suite. We got a great price deal on this. As far as money goes, it was worth it. But we should have stayed at the Travel Inn. I checked in originally around 1430. Which was an early check in that they granted. (30 minutes early). Good start. Then I had to leave at 1700 to start running the errands that I am here for. We got back to the hotel at 2130. I called around 2000 to ask what time the hotel restaurant stops serving meals. They said 10 pm. We went in there at 2140 and they said they weren't taking any more orders. He was kind enough to fix my child some lemonade. I pulled out the the pullout couch. There were sheets already on it. But no blanket and no spare blanket in the room. No extra pillows in the room either. I called down stairs for the items and it took right at an hour to get them. Shortly after I checked in there was chanting and yelling coming from the street. The Vallet said a football game nearby had just finished. Even after we got back hours later, there is still almost constant sirens. Police, ambulance and fire trucks. We used the TV for white noise. But noise is noise. Don't come here to rest. If it's conveniently located for something your doing, maybe. But will never be my first choice. And this is a $1200 a night room I'm staying in. I would have been outraged if I actually would have paid that much.

Yelp
We really liked our stay - but recognized we're probably not the target market for this hotel brand. The front desk girls were a bit clueless - and we were sadly forced to wait for our room in the awkwardly small and lavish velvet or beetlejuice furniture adorned waiting area. We watched lots of people going in and out of the restaurant and later recognized that was pretty darn tasty (I'll happily return even when we're not hotel guests). The hotel room itself was fine - clean and well equipped. I did like the modern and spacious bathroom situation, but regardless of your room or level, the sounds of uptown will sadly haunt you..... it's LOUD listening to trains, sirens and other nonsensical noise outside even if you're 8 levels up.... (Can't change that, but it's not for everyone, so be warned). I initially thought it'd only be that way on Friday or saturday evenings, but we stayed during the week and the sirens/trains and music were quite disruptive without some detracting white noise to drown it all out. The morning breakfast was expensive but delicious. Don't bother with room service - so many great places nearby that will doordash or ubereats deliver.

Yelp
Titanium Elite member here-we booked one night this past week using one of our yearly upgrades. The hotel is incredible! The valet parking was easy with the most helpful and kind staff. Check in was fast and simple. We used the keypad for the elevators (so fun!) and enjoyed the eclectic decor. Our room was spacious and fantastic! (For the most part). The incredible: -I appreciated the layout, with the coffee nook, bathroom, living area and bedroom. -the king size bed was super comfy -the espresso bar was fun to use -TVs has many options for shows and streaming -shampoo and bathroom amenities were high quality -shower had two nozzles -there were enough towels!! (My personal pet peeve is receiving one towel per guest) The not so great: -my husband actually left for a meeting, and I was so excited for a book and the awesome tub! Sadly, the water would not warm up to bath temperature. -the air in the bedroom did not cool properly, and refused to cool to less than 68. -the executive and rooftop lounges were not open yet. Also, I wish the Starbucks allowed mobile orders!

Yelp
We had a great experience. That service was amazing and they kindly permitted late checkout. I highly recommend GB for your accommodation needs in Charlotte.

Yelp
Overall the hotel is blah for $350 a night; however the staff is very nice and accommodating. Kim is definitely the start at this place, very personable. The rooms cleanness I would give a 3.5, the halls need a carpet upgrade and the rooms should always be without carpet.

Rich M.

Yelp
Incredibly clean, elegant and detailed. EVERY staff member was extremely gracious and attentive. The beds slept very well. I can not say enough good things about my experience at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Charlotte. 5+ stars out of 5!!! When I return to Charlotte, NC., I will stay at the Grand Bohemian!!

Yelp
We booked the room through American Express Platinum thinking it was an upscale quality hotel. When we arrived the valet was completely backed up. We needed to wait for 15 minutes to pull up to the entry way to check in. When we arrived at our room we noticed the comforter was stained with brown marks and hairs were present, so we called housekeeping and explained the situation. We had dinner reservations and left before housekeeping arrived; when we returned to our room hours later we found two folded sheets on top of the bed. Housekeeping didn't even change the bedding themselves, they instead expected us to change it for them. When we called the front desk to discuss the situation we spoke with Jamal who responded with a poor attitude and defensiveness. We don't feel that the bedding was properly laundered or sanitary. Additionally, when we were ready to head to dinner we followed the directions to valet our car by texting the code they provided but that didn't work. Instead while trying to meet our reservation time we had to call and it took them 20 minutes to get our car because their entry is not designed for proper check in with valet. They can only handle three cars at a time because they don't have properly managed staff to direct people where to go which would make things much more efficient. One last thing, in order to leave this review I tried to use their WIFI but they charge a fee so instead I had to use my hotspot. Is it unreasonable to expect that when you pay nearly $400 a night that WIFI be included? We will never be returning to this hotel. It's far from upscale, sophisticated and quality. You're better off staying the Best Western for a fraction of the cost.

Yelp
TO BE CLEAR. I WAS CHARGED 554$ and 545$. It wasn't until today after going through at least five different people, including the general manager was it actually corrected so beware of this place! Absolutely horrible hotel and service. There are far better hotels in uptown Charlotte! DO NOT STAY HERE! They charged me twice for my stay and did nothing to fix the issue. The entire staff is dismissive and frankly subpar for a hotel that claims to be luxury. If they hated their job you would think they would find another. I had to call the GM to get my issue resolved who also tried to blame my bank for the issue which was not in fact the case. Not even 10 min after speaking to him the issue miraculously was fixed. Although his attitude about it prior makes sense for the behavior of his staff. "City view room" is actually you staring at an abandoned building. The hotel doesn't have enough floors to actually have any sort of city view. Misleading and a bunch of scam artists to say it as nicely as possible.

Yelp
The ABSOLUTE WORST hotel in Charlotte!!! Customer service sucks!!! They don't care who you are or what status you are!!!!! They treat life time Platinum and titanium folks like they are no status!!! The valet guys smoked weed in our vehicle and also added 56 miles to it!!! Guess they were joy riding around smoking weed! When we complained to the night supervisor Trammel he laughed and got loud with my fiance about it! I told him and Quertine that we would be call Marriott and also calling back to talk to the GM!!! My fiance got so sick from the smell and even the security guy acted like he didn't care! But Trammel ran us out of hotel when we said to call the cops! We won't stay here any more!!!!!!! What a joke of a hotel and staff!!!!!!! Don't waste your money on this joke of a hotel!!! Stay at the Marriott on trade instead of this nonsense place!! The hotel is nice but service KILLS it!!!! I would have rated it a 0 if I could have!!!!!

Yelp
Do not make reservations here. I have reservations to stay on Saturday - coming to Charlotte for a friend's party. On Friday, my daughter and I are diagnosed with the FLU. I called 24 hours before, and they said that I can come with the flu if I want but they will charge me the full night's stay regardless. No waiver for the flu. I travel a lot and this is NOT professional. I hope that makes everyone comfortable staying and working there. It's simply reckless.

Yelp
An eclectic experience filled with glamour and elegance. We stayed in a suite with a corner view of the city and it was spectacular! Elegance through and through. My only concern with the room is I felt that the cleaning could have been a little more thorough but I admit I view things with a bit more diligence and paranoia then I used to. They also provided sanitizing wipes which was a nice touch. We dined at the hotel restaurant , MICO which was an awesome dining experience (see my review on MICO)!

Yelp
I'm not one to casually leave one-star reviews but this property is a travesty. It has so much potential and the location is great. But the service and amenities are terrible and worse. The best part was leaving the property. I hope the owner reads this so they can re-train Ms. Williams and Ms. McKinney at their front desk. Never have I been treated so bizarrely and poorly by Marriott employees. I'm still a loyal Marriott fan, but let this serve as a warning to my fellow travelers who enjoy Marriott properties that you will not find this property to your liking. Just book elsewhere. Also, the whole place smells like that funky scent you pick up from inside the old Eckerd's Drugstore chain.

Yelp
I am a big fan of all Grand Bohemians. I try my best to visit in every city that may have one. They are one of my favorite hotels ever. I have never had anything but stellar experiences at all of the Bohemians. That's what I want to start by saying. Now...this restaurant is so beautiful. I mean gorgeous and I expected nothing less. But the food, not what I hoped at all. I got the skirt steak for my main course, cooked medium-med well and it was completely burnt. The taste was char all the way. Black, burnt pieces stuck in my teeth and all. I don't have a lot of experience with skirt steak, so if it needed to be cooked less, I would've appreciated a head's up. The mashed plantains were not good. There was an unpleasant after taste that was hard to pin point. The dip trio was ok, nothing extremely extravagant. And I wouldn't get it again. Also the heirloom tomato dish was very boring. It looked so beautiful with a great presentation, but the overall flavor was disappointing. Even the fingerling potatoes with blue cheese were dry, overdone, and basically flavorless. An extra star added because of the presentation and gorgeous atmosphere. The sangria looked stunning, but was watery. The server was friendly enough, just not very helpful or knowledgeable. I felt like she only suggested items that were the priciest. A sad dinner and a huge let down. Also is the the page to review the restaurant ?? Because I found another page w/ the restaurant alone, but I see people leaving food reviews here instead. My food pics are on the other page for just the restaurant!

Yelp
It pains me to say this but this hotel has definitely slipped it's service standards. I arrived extremely late (I.e. 2:15 am) only to find an empty front desk with no associate in sight. Thankfully the valet was able to track down the associate after a long wait (15 min plus). The associate did not have the proper training to even check me in and a process which should have taken 2 minutes took more than 10 minutes. It was after 3 am when I finally was able to go to bed. Then in the morning, there was no hair dryer. When I called guest services, they said one would be sent right away and it was never sent. I called back and the phone rang and rang and rang. No answer. I finally as able to get ahold of someone and I insisted they bring up a hair dryer but i ended up being thirty minutes late to a meeting. After expressing my frustration to a manager, she asked how she could make ir better. I asked for the room to be cleaned only to come back ten hours later to a room that was not cleaned or tidied up. Beyond disappointed. This hotel has slipped in every way.

Esther K.

Yelp
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel as the staff are very accommodating and the lobby is stunning. The rooms are not only well-kept but also amazing. Overall, the service is good.

Yelp
This hotel is unreal!!! Not only is the ambiance and aesthetic the most beautiful in Charlotte. The people who run this Hotel are AMAZING. Shout out to Emma, Isrrael, Jaylen, Josh, Sarah, Autumn, Kaitlyn, Wesley, Kyle , Saurav AND so many others that made our stay flawless. It might be the safest hotel in all of NC, especially when traveling with your SO:)! I appreciate y'all and can't wait to come back

Yelp
My first time staying at this hotel. My only complaint was O don't believe the room was properly cleaned. The deco was off... some of the furniture and art was weirdly combined. The ac worked okay... but I wish my room was a bit colder. The staff were pleasant. The hallways to the rooms look like something from Steven King's movie... The Shining. I keep looking over my shoulder thinking someone was following me. The hotel was creepy.

Yelp
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a BEAUTIFUL hotel and restaurant! We dined at Mico for dinner and it was a 10/10 experience hands down! Parking/Location: in order to access the valet parking at the front of the hotel it is best to enter the main entrance located off of Church Street. Valet parking can be validated for up to two hours. The service was excellent. They asked if we would like our steering wheel and gearshift to be sanitized. They also offered us a water bottle prior to us leaving, for the road. Very thoughtful! Food: I can't say enough good things about the flavors and the beautifully curated menu. Everything from the appetizers, main course, dessert, and drinks was absolutely perfect. The food is bursting with flavor. There's so much depth in each and every dish, it is most definitely something that is hard to find in the restaurants of this area. The sweet plantains with coconut were my absolute favorite out of all the dishes. I could literally eat 10 bowls of it it was so good. The presentation of the food was spectacular. This was truly a very very enjoyable dinner. Service: we absolutely loved our server, Juan. He was knowledgeable and really took good care of us. The food was served in a timely manner. He was attentive and observant. Covid precautions: There was limited capacity in the restaurants. Social distancing was enforced and there was space between tables. All staff wore masks. However, they did not wear gloves. There were no temperature checks or hand sanitizers provided. Mico does not have outdoor seating but the other restaurant at the Grand Bohemian Hotel does have outdoor seating apparently and is pet friendly (Mico is not). Overall, we will most definitely be back. This was a wonderful experience and as I said before I just can't say enough good things about this place. I highly highly recommend everybody to try it as their food was just so good and bursting with flavor.

Yelp
Stunning restaurant. Staff was extremely tentative and kind. Food pricing was as expected ($45 for brunch), but beware if you order still water- expect to pay an additional seven dollars. Perfect spot for lunch with friends, dinner date, and beautiful background for photos. Lastly, valet parking is complementary if restaurant validates parking ticket.

Yelp
This is a recently built, well-appointed hotel with fairly attentive staff. A bit pricey for the location (uptown Charlotte, where the Ritz and JW Marriott are proximate comparables), but refreshing to stay at a well-designed location with tasteful decor. Strangely, my room did not contain the standard iron/ironing board combo which can be found in virtually any hotel room in the Americas, Europe, or Asia. Instead, my room had a non-functional plastic clothing steamer which was useless for smoothing wrinkles from my clothes. I made the front desk aware of this but nothing was done. Incredibly frustrating to have to attend business meetings in a rumpled suit because the hotel was apparently too cheap to outfit the rooms with ironing equipment. Shameful that the staff did nothing to address the issue. Lesson learned - I'll be staying somewhere else on my next trip to Charlotte.

Yelp
This hotel is very stunning and looks fabulous from the exterior. The interior is an explosion of colour and Klimt-esque paintings. To be fair, it does feel very feminine which was no issue for me but my partner found it a bit much. Horace at breakfast service was great and accommodating. There is a lovely bar downstairs and cocktails were good. We stayed for 4 days and I think the hotel suffers a few issues. The key card machine had an issue and so the first night we were issued no keys at all. We were told housekeeping only came when requested. There is a lovely rooftop which seems oddly managed at the downstairs. You couldn't charge spa services to the room. Just little things which are standard weren't really the norm here.
