Such a fun happy hour! Miguel was our server and he was so kind, recommended the best dishes to us and even brought my dog a homemade treat. This place is such a hidden gem, we’ll absolutely be back. Thank you Miguel :)

Google
I love the Grand Casino!! It is such a quaint local spot with a very European feel. Affordable prices, great food, and an incredible staff always make a visit worth it. Special shout out to Miguel, who is one of the main reasons why this restaurant is so great. He is always attentive and so incredibly personable that you can't help but leave with a smile on your face! He really makes you feel like family. Thank you Miguel and the rest of the team for everything you do!!

Google
Food’s on point. It tastes as it should taste. Como sentarse casualmente en un bar en pleno Buenos Aires (like casually sitting at a bar in the city of Buenos Aires). Some pastries are more traditional than others. Chorizo con papas its the key to success. The mate cocido and the alfajor de maicena are the best way to close a meal.

Google
Had a great time eating here. Manny was our server and he was very helpful with recommendations and accommodating to our big group. Great spot!

Google
Lovely empanadas here, which is why this place is in my regular rotation.

Google
Easy to miss so keep an eye open for the painted logo. Ordered the empanadas, fried steak with Russian potatoe salad and of course a couple of draft Stella's to wash it down. Food portion is nice and very flavorful. Outdoor and indoor eating options. There is a small bakery as part of the restraunt with a nice selection. I say check it out.

Google
We just picked up several empanadas from the bakery as a quick lunch and they were delicious! My partner liked the ham and cheese, I really liked the beef, but my absolute favorite was the chicken with pepper. So juicy and tasty! I should have had 3 of those to myself. Next time!

Google
My favorite place in CC!! It's a humble place that has been around for about 35 years! No scene and it reminds me of a cafe in Europe. Food is amazing, dog friendly patio and good happy hour! Just go!

Yelp
This place literally has the absolute best happy hour deal I've ever seen. Happy hour is 3-6pm everyday. The house wines they offer on the happy hour menus are SO good. Usually happy hour options are teensy for food, but I got the picada and was pleasantly surprised! I'll definitely be back for the steak tacos. They're also connected to a bakery that's great for grab and go foods. It always smells delicious in there, and the prices for grab and go drinks are cheaper in the bakery section. I've brought my family (elderly and children), and the restaurant portion is very family friendly. Service was kind and timely as well! Free parking is available in the structures nearby as well!

Yelp
Love this place! I've been maybe 3x this year so far. You HAVE to get the empanadas, chicken with chimichurri sauce and mashed potatoes and those cookies with the dulce de leche. The service is great until it's time to get your bill. One Sunday my party of 3 waited about 30min to get our bill after requesting it 3x. We had to pay extra at the parking garage lol. Other than that, the food is delicious. Yay for free bread! Make sure to check when important soccer games are being broadcasted bc it gets PACKED

Yelp
I was introduced to their empanadas during a farmers market years ago - they set up a table outside their store. Boy, not only did I enjoy the empanadas but they have the best chimichurri sauce to compliment it. Over the years I've tried various baked goods and their sandwiches all were good. I especially enjoyed the Milanesa sandwich, it reminded me of chicken fried steak and the chimichurri chicken sandwich which is also a delicious and much healthier sandwich to eat. As I mentioned, I really enjoy their empanadas. It might be one of my favorites in the area. It comes with different fillings - I especially enjoyed 2 versions - the beef and the spinach/cheese. There are 2 sections to their restaurant - the sit down restaurant and the casual bakery. Parking can be busy in the area but you can easily find something within a few blocks. They have plenty of lots with the first hour free.

Yelp
It is truly unreal how heavenly their ham and cheese empanadas are on a cold morning, or warm morning, or really any kind of morning. They're a crusty baked empanada that's perfectly crisp around the edges and just a little doughy on the inside, with a juicy filling of ham, finely chopped onions, and some sort of perfectly melty cheese. Their other empanadas are great too, but the ham and cheese are off the charts and just so affordable at $2 apiece. Their steak and eggs and other breakfast entrees are also fantastic and it's such a lovely little spot to sit and enjoy the scenery in downtown culver.

Yelp
Both the bakery and restaurant are excellent. Going to Grand Casino is like going to a place in the middle of Buenos Aires. Excellent food and service.

Yelp
Attending some sort of function where you need to bring desserts? Look no further this place has so many delightful treats to choose from. Need a breakfast pastry in the morning grab it from here too! I bought one to eat the next day and it was perfection. I am looking forward to returning for the empanadas. Respectfully Reviewed.

Yelp
WHEN: Sun @ 3:30pm I wanted some sweets after lunch and decided to try this cute spot that has outdoor patio seating to enjoy my pastries. This Argentinian Bakery seems authentic, and I'm so happy they have a chart of what's what to help guide my decision, which I ended up with: BIG ALFAJOR - $2.50 It's like 2 shortbread cookies sandwiching a salon of dulce de leche (caramelized milk) covered with lots of powdered sugar, which will get everywhere and all over you! It's pretty sweet and messy, and I enjoyed it. I can see this going well with coffee. VIGILANTE - $1.05 I got this because of how light it looks and the custard parts to is. I appreciate how it is not too sweet. It's a very soft pastry too. APRICOT SQUARE - $1.05 I love me a flakey danish with a bit of fruit filling and this was it! Course I'd like more, but this is just how they make it and I'm okay with that! I appreciate the small portions of these pastries which allowed me to try more, and how reasonably priced they are! The staff is super friendly and patient. Next to the bakery is a full restaurant you can dine in at, and the bakery has boxed treats you can order to go.

Yelp
I thought I already posted a review of this place. In case I haven't it needs to be yelped about. Love this restaurant. They have a really nice front sidewalk patio. Food is outstanding. Best empanadas I've ever had. I normally get the skirt steak and mashed potato's. Plenty of bakery goods to choose from too. Several brands of Yerba mate !!

Yelp
First time trying Argentinian pastries...i tried ones with more bread than filling. So it wasn't too sweet and went well with coffee. Wish i knew what i ordered so i can label them. This place is a bakery and restaurant. Only got to check out their coffee and pastries. They have options for soy milk on vanilla late for those lactose. Friendly staff since my sister knew the lady at the counter. She was so friendly and even shared with us some of her favorites to try. She went over which items had fillings of guava, tres leche and custard. The place had a homey and welcoming vibe.

Yelp
Ambiance: the establishment is operated in two sessions restaurant and bakery, with outdoor dining tables setup Service: very fast but also rushed, not patient with questions or lack of hospitality for orders, had to remind a few times to get water Food & Drink: variety choices on the menu CHIMICHUDDI CHICKEN - *** thin cut and dry Beef Empanada - *** ground beef fillings with eggs inside Chicken Empanada - **** recommend Spinach Empanada - ** so so Ham & Cheese Empanada - * served cold Fries - *** soggy and flavorless Iced Latte - *** with hazelnut, bland taste CHAJA - *** white cake, meringue, dulce de leche, peaches and whipped cream, sweet taste MILHOJAS - *** 1,000 layers Napoleon with alternating puff pastry and dulce de leche, dusted with powdered sugar, soggy texture Palmerita - *** not crispy Price: moderate portions and affordable prices, about $25 per person

Yelp
Came for Sunday brunch with a group of 3. Not very busy and seated right away. Our waitress was very kind. The food was great! I would definitely recommend this spot and come again. Street parking available nearby.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by Grand Casino for brunch on Labor Day. It was a nice day out, so we wanted to eat in their outdoor patio, but unfortunately there was a 30 min wait, so we sat inside where there was plenty of seating available. They offer a good selection of brunch and lunch/dinner dishes. I went with the ham and veggie omelette for $15.95, while my friend got the breakfast burrito for $11.95. The omelette was pretty basic but well executed. They included a ton of veggies and ham inside, and the hash browns it came with were nice and crispy. I wish I had tried one of their empanadas, which is what they seem to be famous for, but I was trying to save my stomach for some ice cream afterwards. Alas, next time!

Yelp
Excellent food, service and most important the cost is very reasonable. I love their chilaquiles, bread and cafe. The kitchen staff is amazing at cooking with sason!

Glo M.

Yelp
I love the chimichurri sandwich, but even better than that is the attention that the manager took to provide great customer service. I appreciate the time and actions that the manager took to make my experience there great. I can't wait to have another chimichurri dish!
google avatar

Stephany B.

Yelp
The empanadas are so delicious! I had the beef, chicken, spinach, and ham and cheese and all were amazing.

Yelp
Can only attest to the yummy goodies sold here and not the cafe food as I have never eaten anything here other than the desserts The first time I ever tried Grand Casino was February of this year. I was searching all throughout the west side for a decent single serve slice of tiramisu Was so happy to have found GC I entered about 30 min prior to their closing and recall the lady that helped me was so nice and sweet. She even complimented my valentines day nails The tiramisu was perfection. Fluffy clouds of the perfect amount of coffee liquor in between the layers. Not overly soggy like some places Then i nearly forgot about this place till last month (i dont frequent dtcc as much as i should) I went back last month to grab a couple more goodies to say thank you for a 3 part seminar i attended around the corner at blank space I nearly kicked myself for forgetting that this place existed Got a couple of the halloween sugar cookies and a couple chocolate covered crumbly cookies 10/10 recommend grand casino for their baked goods and cant wait to try their cafe food

Yelp
The classic bakery/patisserie environment with everything you could want: great pastries, bread, savory empanadas- all served quickly by friendly people. Todays win was a 6am inspiration, then to check when they would open -they were already open!!! An absolute winner.
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
Our family loves the empanadas and sweet baked goods from here. Pro tip - 10 empanadas is the same as a dozen so just get 12! I've never had something from here that I didn't like.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Grand Casino Bakery is best as a to-go place, as I've been getting their empanadas as takeaway. I'm in love with their beef empanada: well-seasoned, tender, and with olives, it packs a punch: I could eat a dozen of them and be very happy. The spinach and cheese is decent, but I do feel like frozen spinach is being used, which isn't as good. Overall, a decent Argentinian restaurant for to-go orders!
google avatar

Yelp
Not in Culver City much but had heard about Grand Casino, and finally came by for breakfast. The Argentinian style Empanadas were fantastic, had a couple of those seated outside along with coffee on a nice morning. Would recommend if you are in the area and looking for breakfast.

Yelp
Manny was great ! The empanadas were delicious with the chimmichuri. The omelette was good too. I cant wait to go back.

Chelsea W.

Yelp
Best empanadas I have ever had!! The man upfront was super super helpful and sweet. Me and my friend both got 1 empanada, tasted them, and came back for the 4 for $12 deal!! The dough is amazing and the filling is even better. Come here if you want good empanadas :)

Allie A.

Yelp
Best brunch in LA for a great price. Our waiter Manny was incredible and very attentive. Try the abuela pascalina for breakfast
google avatar

Esther L.

Yelp
Saw that they made empanadas and came by to try a few. They had a few different options which tasted pretty pretty decent.
google avatar

Kris H.

Yelp
I always have an amazing time here at Grand Casino. Their empanadas are amazing. They have beef, chicken, ham and cheese, and a special spicy beef (only on Farmer's Marker Tuesdays) options. Happy hour is very good as well with affordable and yummy sangrias. Try their sweet potato fries as well! Staff is friendly and makes you feel welcomed off the back! The environment in the restaurant and bakery makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food is excellent, I always take my clients and out of town guests to Grand casino bakery. I'm extremely satisfied with the service and how professional all of the workers are. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
This review is just for the bakery section. They've been around for around 40 years and while the interior is modest I would definitely return for the desserts and next time, empanadas. I think it's also important to support independent businesses. Everything we bought was delicious. -Milhojas (layers of light flaky pastry with heavy but not that sweet caramel de leche). It was unique texturally. For the size I expected to pay more than $4.50. -Deco cookie - shortbread sandwich with same caramel de leche. Copito - shortbread with apricot (?) thumb print centers. Ate them too quickly for photos. :) Prices range from great to reasonable. My friend loved her almond croissant at $3.65 a bargain. NOTE: It would be easier and quicker to choose the items if they were labeled with description and prices. Service was good. Seems the owners are of Argentinian descent as one copito had the country's flag on it. We saw next door a dance class (forget which Latin dance). The employee said the same kind of music is played on days without lessons. I am curious to try their empanadas and maybe even breakfast. They have a large front patio. I need to give more attention to small businesses on Main St.!

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience ordering a birthday cake for my daughter. The whole process was really easy (all done over email), and Linda made the Kitty Cake of her dreams!
google avatar

Alexander L.

Yelp
If you are craving a perfect Argentinian steak, the entraña (skirt steak) was cooked perfectly medium rare. The potatoes were hot and the chimichurri was the perfect touch to drizzle all over everything! They also honored the complimentary drink when you check in which was a bonus. Plus, they love soccer! I am coming back soon!

Cs C.

Yelp
This is an authentic Argentinian restaurant that's not overly pricey. My Argentinian cousin and I were hunting for a good Arg place in LA County and finally found this one after visiting a handful of other places. The food is delicious and their facturas are great as well. Service can sometimes be a bit slow tho but overall amazing place that reminds me of home.
google avatar

Daisey H.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for breakfast after our hike, but after exploring the menu a bit, we got intrigued by their pasta section. We asked our server Manny for his recommendations and he suggested the spaghetti with the Portuguese chorizo and also the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. We also got a cafe con leche, cortadito, a ham and cheese empanada and a basket of delicious bread to start, that came with chimichurri, butter and jelly. Everything was delicious and the service was stellar. The food, drinks, ambiance and service was amazing, so it's needless to that we will be coming back again real soon! My leftover dinner was just as delicious! Thank you Manny!

Denisse S.

Yelp
I've been here twice and I really loved the alfajores. I'll definitely come back for some more. I was recommended this restaurant by a friend and it's amazing!
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
I love, love, love this place... for the empanadas, coffee and laid back nature of everyone here. Sitting on the sidewalk especially during the Farmers Market on Main in Culver City is one of LA's simple and great pleasures.
google avatar

Mia L.

Yelp
Really cute place-- I liked the vibe of the bakery area in particular. I had the spicy beef empanada and a lemonade-- both were good.
google avatar

Gary D.

Yelp
I can only speak on the assorted sampler of pastries that I picked up today. I have a friend who is from Argentina visiting and I thought that I would pick up some pastries that reminded him of home. He gave his seal of approval! The pastries tasted fresh and were delicious. I will definitely have to come back at some point and try the other offerings that the restaurant has to offer.
google avatar

Jetrina M.

Yelp
This is a great place for affordable brunch food! We went here on a Sunday morning around 930AM and it wasn't too crowded. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was efficient. I ordered the huevos rancheros and my boyfriend got the Argentine sausage with eggs and potatoes. Both were ~$10 each and portions were a good size. They also had a free drink with check in on Yelp, and I ordered a sangria. Overall decent food at great prices. They also have a bakery next door that has the same menu for takeout and a bunch of pastries. I ended up getting 4 pastries and 4 empanadas to go. Only downside is that there are no prices listed, so you have to ask about each one or just be surprised when you checkout. Free parking at the garage on Cardiff. They allow dogs on their outdoor patio.
google avatar

Mel V.

Yelp
Delicious pastries, desserts, and especially empanadas! Love their spinach and cheese empanadas, always made fresh and served warm. They are super filling, and served with a smile. Highly recommend checking out this bakery/cafe for their great service, comfortable seating, and tasty food items. Looking forward to coming back
google avatar

Yelp
Been here many times and it's good spot with good prices. Happy hour is definitely a deal with draft beers and small plates for cheap. Pastries, baguettes, finger sandwiches, empanadas and coffees are also priced well and fresh. Table service is always polite and professional. Breakfast is also good. Nothing to complain about here. I wouldn't make it a destination for dinner but for morning, daytime or happy hour it's a great choice. This isn't personal but our honest experience experience.

Terren R.

Yelp
these spicy beef empanadas brought me out of my depressive episode. didn't realize i could be attracted to food until i looked at these empanadas

Eileen H.

Yelp
Best EMPANADAS anywhere! I choose the baked ones, but they also do fried empanadas, and both are divine. Beef is my fav; their spinach one ties with ham & cheese for second place. Lots of other kinds, too! The happy hour is from 3 to 6 pm a full 7 days a week with lots of tasty food and drinks. If you haven't tried this place, you are missing out! P.S. The people who work there are very nice as well, which elevates the experience.

Ruby T.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, service, and food. We went on a Tuesday and got to browse the farmer's market. A great location to spend the day.
google avatar

Josef K.

Yelp
A great place for south of the hemisphere treats. And remember to ask your server about happy hour specials, who may cut you a deal. Been a standard for ages in downtown Culver City, renewed and popular now with the area's renovations.
google avatar

Mason W.

Yelp
Initially came to this area for the "deli" across the street but the menu was trash so we looked around. Found this little gem, it felt so homey inside. The bakery was very enticing. We were waited on by Manny, who treated us to a cheese and spinach empanada which was very very good. I ordered the cheese and spinach ravioli with peso sauce, the Mrs ordered a skirt steak with a salad and rice. The ravioli was easily the best ive had in years. The sauce is surprisingly creamy and easily addictive. The steak was cooked well and paired nicely with the rice and salad. Manny really was the best though and recommended a few things that didnt miss. Will for sure be coming back!
google avatar

Infernio C.

Yelp
Love this place, I've made the drive from Cerritos for the last 15 years at least once a month. My wife and I love this place. We always stop here whenever we're in the neighborhood. Service is awesome, the food is excellent, The baked goods are amazing! Most try! We prefer to sit outside on sunny days, inside when it's a chilly.
google avatar

Patrick g.

Yelp
Good food and like home made breakfasts. People in our office eat her a couple times a week. Just good food. The baked items are good for the kids.
google avatar

Ian B.

Yelp
Love the food and the ambience! Great for kids and families. Orders come out very quickly.
google avatar

Olivia H.

Yelp
I ordered 4 dozen empanadas for my birthday from Grand Casino. The ordering process was incredibly smooth, and the woman who took my order was very kind and helpful. I was scheduled to pick up my order at 4 pm, but was out and about earlier so I stopped in to see if the empanadas were ready by chance, thinking I'd just come back later if they weren't. The woman at the bakery counter worked quickly to get my order ready, even though I was very early for pickup, so that I wouldn't have to come back later. Excellent service, and the price for 4 dozen empanadas was quite reasonable! Will definitely be ordering from Grand Casino again for future parties!
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
Definitely the best deal you can get for Happy Hour in the area! Ive been coming here for happy hour every time there farmers market every Tuesday. All their happy hour items are excellent, drinks and food. I would highly recommend everyone to give this place a try especially for the happy hour. Great price and portion.
google avatar

Dan Y.

Yelp
The Argentinian food was very good, the service was good, and the atmosphere was good. The dessert was very good. It was an hour drive to get there, but because of my company it was worth it.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
I usually come to this bakery for the empanadas they sell during the farmers market in front of the place. He's up and the is quite good and they come with a sauce that's excellent. I'm sure all the other bakers are tasty as well but I only get the empanadas especially on Tuesdays during the farmers market. The woman that serves him is quite nice!
