The go-to spot for Buffalo Bills fans offers hot wings, burgers, and upstate favorites like beef on weck sandwiches and marinated skewers of Spiede chicken, with 21 TVs and DirecTV packages for major sports leagues. Adams Morgan Bar Grand Central Lands Coveted License to Add Sports Betting - Eater DC

"After becoming the first D.C. bar of its kind to win a coveted sports wagering license last week, Adams Morgan standby Grand Central plans to have a staffed ticket teller window and two betting kiosks up and running in by October. Once it opens for betting, Grand Central will run a sportsbook at 2447 18th Street NW seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Co-owner Brian Vasile says the bar, which acts as a second home for Buffalo Bills fans with hot wings, beef on weck sandwiches, and marinated skewers of Spiede chicken, has tripled its number of TVs from seven to 21 and boasts DirecTV packages for major sports leagues." - Gabe Hiatt

Google
Had an excellent experience hosting a large birthday party at Grand Central on a busy Saturday night! The staff was communicative, accommodating and the bartenders even developed drink specials for our event. Thank you Jonathan and team for an unforgettable evening!

Google
I visited while in town from AL. Great experience. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, and the service was excellent. I love the music!!!

Google
Did not even go in, was looking for something fun to do with a friend after leaving madam’s organ. We saw a lot of people outside on the line for this place so we decided to check it out. I had a drink in my hand that I was finishing before going inside and the bouncer just started cussing me out, out of nowhere, in a really disgusting way. Mentioning it was because we wouldn’t buy drinks inside and he wasn’t gonna let us in and saying really nasty things. Meanwhile, we were literally looking for a place to have fun and buy drinks. So we just got in an Uber and left because it wasn’t worth it. It was a Caribbean man I believe he was Jamaican. Disgusting experience. This also is not the first incident I heard about a bouncer.

Google
They allowed us to host our own pubquiz for a big group of students from Amsterdam and it was really amazing! The bartender was fantastic, and the owners were so kind. Thank you for making it such a great night!

Google
I love Grand Central! The vibes and energy are GREAT, the food is delicious, the music doesn’t miss and the service is fantastic!!! If you want to have a good time in AdMo you should definitely come to Grand Central— I can’t recommend it enough.

Google
Our student group held a pubquiz here, they were so hospitable to all our students. We could take the whole second floor. They helped us with anything we needed and were very helpful over the phone as well.

Google
Burgers were not great, sweet potato fries delicious. Really. Really loud basketball game no one was watching. Drinks blah

Yelp
Food was delicious. We got the nachos and the bacon chicken ranch loaded fries with two sides of the local IPA. My whiskers were off the roof. The bartender who served us was talkative and really friendly which made us extremely happy. We shared similar career paths and in my kitty world, that felt comforting. We got some IPA's and were pretty drunk. SHOUTOUT KEITH. he was so friendly! We felt safe the minute he welcomed us in. He recommended the bacon ranch loaded fries and man!!!!!! They were SO GOOD!!!! The vibe is super comfy and relaxing. If you want a good photo, def come for the photobooth. Please come and please say hi to Kieth :))

Yelp
This is a nice Bills bar that has a nice set up and good food but some operational issues. Some of my positives are the little free photobooth which is fun and both the nachos and tenders taste really good. I've come here a couple times for games though and they do not have an efficient system and major timing issues for getting food out. When you order, you don't get a buzzer or anything and it's up to the poor bartenders to try and remember who got what. The first time I went it took about 40 minutes to get my tendies. The second time, it took an hour before I finally asked about my order. The owner? I think went to check and came back and told me that they were out. My friend also ordered tenders before me and they were out and she had to ask after 45 minutes about her nachos. If Grand Central can get a better system for their kitchen they'd be such a powerhouse for games.

Yelp
love it there jello shots are always great you just need a fun group #GrandCentralDC #buzzybooth

Yelp
If I could give it zero, I would. The management is absolutely terrible. Food is disgusting. Beyond dirty. Throw up was covered all over the floors. Would not recommend for anyone.

Yelp
This place has a bar and we got our drinks at a good time considering how busy it was. They had a Photo Booth which did cost money to use (less than $10) however the pictures came out beautifully and I have them saved for memory. They had a video recording system and we were able to record a short video and have them sent to our phone for memory. They had some arcade games in here which looked fun and neat. The place has a huge dance floor and is overall beautiful! It is located in Adams Morgan right next to literally everything (walking distance).

Yelp
Grand Central is another bar. It has a few greasy food options. This is like many on 18th. It has the main bar below. There's a deck that overlooks the street. It functions best as a sports bar. It should be called Party Central. That name might be taken. It seems to be a good place for watching a game. This was what most people were doing the last time. It just is a lot less hectic since people are sitting around. There's the blast of TVs instead of club music. It seems about the same as price as other bars. They have a few simple food items. Most are fried. They have a few that aren't drowning in grease or oil. A couple soft pretzels are $8 and comes with cheese or mustard. These are a pretty big size. I like coming here to see a game. It's a popular place for the Capitols. They also get some to watch the United.

Yelp
Came for a Bills football game on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived about 25 min before kickoff to grab some space on the lower level of the bar. We got a bunch of buckets of Labatt Blue light bottles, 20 wings and fries, with celery, carrots and bleu cheese. As a Buffalonian, the wings were alright, the sauce was too much butter and not enough Franks, not hot enough but they were meaty and very saucy and well fried. The Bleu cheese was not dank/moldy/stanky enough, more like white goop, no chunks of cheese. Fine amount of celery and carrots, fries basket was hardly filled. The place was lit with fans and it was hard to get service at the bar, only two bartenders!!!? They did play our fight song after every touchdown which was a blast, lots of TV's, lots of fun. Although it would be nice if they turned down the volume during commerical breaks. Woof, just a lot of noise! Alas, it was a game day

Yelp
I loved it. Went for dance at night and music is great. Drinks is decent price and strong. Will go back again.

Yelp
Tasty food and great staff who pass the greatness to the drinks. Definitely a great spot to come and catch a game!

Yelp

Yelp
Arielle is the best bartender ever! She was a great sport with our scavenger hunt! Love her!

Maya M.

Yelp
Mariah was amazing. I came in letting her know it was my birthday and she was in point with everything that I asked her for. Some of the best service I have ever had. If you haven't you definitely need to come check out the bar and if you can get Mariah definitely treat her right because she gone treat you right!!!!

Yelp
Grand Central is a multi-story bar with a dance floor located in Adam's Morgan neighborhood of DC. Upon entry, expect to be carded at the door. If the TVs are on, then it's usually sports. At the bar, they have a $10 minimum to use credit card. Their drink specials include $5 Fireball or Lemon Drop Shots and $3 Jello Shots. On Friday nights, there's a club vibe, as there's popular music blasting out and patrons singing and dancing along to it.

Chequelle C.

Yelp
I would rate zero stars if I could. First of all a large rat ran across the bar as I was getting my drink. The bartender was extremely rude and out of pocket when a white customer bumped me out of my seat and didn't acknowledge the accident he gave me a speech for approaching the lady about what she did. He told me she was ob drunk and I should have left her alone and not spoke on what she did to me. He told me I was a trouble maker in his establishment and put my friends and I out after we spent hundreds of dollars for a friends celebration. Grand central needs to be reported to the health department as well as have security and training for the staff and customers.

Yelp
It's an average spot to go out with a group of friends on the weekend. I've been there a couple times now and it's never the same experience. On crowded nights, people are friendly and it seems to be a more younger, cliquish environment, with everyone going to have fun with their circle. The security is somewhat strict there (which could be a good thing) since I've seen people getting kicked out on several occasions for pretty much anything like touching the chandeliers. Plusses are that there's no cover, and a bit of music for everyone with the DJ usually spinnin' pop, hip hop and R&B.
google avatar

Vanessa G.

Yelp
I wouldn't bother going here if you expect good service or polite staff. I also wouldn't bother going here if you're from Connecticut. Their head security guard, Jermey, isn't well educated on IDs and is extremely aggressive in his delivery. Its silly to watch a "professional" reject a valid ID, claiming it's fake, when even a police office is vouching for its authenticity.

Yelp
Great music, great food, and amazing staff. Manny was super nice and we absolutely loved his hospitality. #GrandCentralDC #buzzybooth

Yelp
Was amazing! Great music and cheap drinks. Only problem was that the floors were a little slippery. Overall great place for a girls night out #GrandCentralDC #buzzybooth

Yelp
I like how nice the bouncers were. Plus it was no cover . Me and friends were pretty toasted by the time we got here. And the staff was ssssssssoooo cool. We will definitely be back. A fight broke out but the staff cleared the scene so fast we had no worries.the atmosphere was very cool.... very chic. I loved that it looked like the subway inside . Plus I met some Very gentlemen like fellows here. And the pizza spot next door was a great post party treat

Yelp
First time out in Adams Morgan -- didn't disappoint! Can't go wrong with $5 lemon drop shots. We didn't pay cover nor wait in line because we registered ahead on their website. Fun dance floor starting around 10:15ish. Reminds me a bit of Federal Hill bars in Baltimore, but a bit cleaner. All around great experience for a night of dancing and drinking.
google avatar

Ambriehl H.

Yelp
A pretty fun spot in the heart of Adams Morgan. Came here with a group of 5 on Saint Patrick's day weekend. We walked in at about 8:30-9ish and it was pretty empty which worked for us. Drinks aren't bad. My go to for bars is a tequila tonic, simple, strong and tasty. They were $7 a pop. We were also able to play beer pong on the lower level. A pitcher and cups were provided for $14 (your choice of beer). We eventually opted to get a pitcher of water and drink the beer. By around 9:45-10 the place was way more crowded. Music was good and we all made our way to the top floor to dance and people watch. They had a good amount of security, but we all left before things ever got wild. I'd go again, it seems like a pretty solid spot

Stephen H.

Yelp
First night at this bar and was not disappointed. Being a Bills fan, my expectations were that this would be an inviting atmosphere, which is what it was. The other reviews mention rude staff and slow bartenders, but we experienced the employees going above and beyond. Will definitely be coming back here again!
google avatar

Nikita J.

Yelp
Good drinks, a good bartender, and a good happy hour specials! Happy hour lasted until 9 when we visited. Shoutout to bartender Chris who kept our drinks full and was so friendly! He suggested some delicious shooters and we just had a great time with him. I don't know about the food or late night vibes but when it comes to basic drinks and a solid local bar hosted by a friendly bartender, this hits the mark!
google avatar

Billy R.

Yelp
I have an eye condition and the bouncer accused me of being extremely drunk just because my eyes were squinting. Absolutely do not appreciate being discriminated against. Never coming back here

C S.

Yelp
We went here to have a good time with me and my friends and my non-binary friend was called out for being in the womens bathroom and subsequently dragged out violently(by the neck) by the bouncers. When I approached a manager about this she was offended I would call her out on this clear bigotry instead of actually addressing the problem. Will never come back here!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Always have a good time here. Yes, the bar is just your standard stuff, for the most part. But there are always people dancing and having fun. If you want to drink and dance, this is definitely the place for you. And the photo booth is just icing. They do try to trick the drunks with a large "Just $3!" sign on it, but that's per photo, and a strip has four. So $12 to get your strip of photos. Ugh. My gf and I like to just go in there and snap some pics on my phone. It always makes for a good time the next morning when we have 15 random pics on there. As for the layout, you've got three levels - when you walk in, there are two bars, with people just standing around chatting. There's the downstairs where most of the dancing is going on, and then you can go upstairs for a smaller dance area as well. They usually have top 40 playing, and no cover! Bonus points for serving cheap mixed drinks with Van Gogh espresso vodka. You can get it at a few other locations around, but it's such a fantastic drink that's too hard to find in liquor stores. It's always what I go with when I'm here.
google avatar

Toya D.

Yelp
Nice little chill spot. I wasn't ready to leave Adams Morgan yet, so we came here for more cocktails and such after leaving The Diner. Didn't even bother looking at the food menu. went straight for the gusto. I had two Michael Phelps (some secret recipe with jeremiah weed sweet tea vodka on ice). Yeah. I was NICE and tipsy that evening. My word. Dancefloor is the size of my bathroom, so I probably wouldn't even bother. There's outside seating for those of you who don't mind people and their pets coming up to you for affection. (I'll stay inside, thanks.) I'd go back for some more drinks and to snap some shots in the photo booth.
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
Recent grad bar, all top 40 music, reasonably strong drinks, average prices. Forgettable but not regrettable.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Cheap beer can never steer you wrong. Wait.. actually it can.. but it *does* always easily steer you into the facility that is offering it. And this is where Grand Central fits into my book. Their happy hour runs nice and late (I want to say 8?) and they have great deals. All of their draft beers are cheap, same thing with rail and wine. It's nice to see a place that has more than a few beers on draft offer them all up at happy hour, far too many places will only let you skate away with their cheap domestic offerings. This about sums up my experience with Grand Central, as its always a start of the evening kind of place, but I really need to go back for a longer stay. I really want to try out their tap tables, as well as some of their games downstairs. One thing that they really need to get on top of though, are the acoustics. They seriously are bad. You can hear everyone at the bar due to the rounded ceilings, and its always loud and owww. Their food has always looked decent for bar food, but can't say I have ever indulged.
google avatar

Tova M.

Yelp
Come here for the games or the drinks. Do not come here to eat. It's a decent bar in a great location - centrally located on 18th street.
google avatar

Asiya A.

Yelp
It was a Tuesday night and I was hanging in Adams Morgan with a couple of college acquaintances. We stopped by Grand Central for the happy hour specials which go on until 10pm...pretty sweet if I do say so myself!! The bartender, Janelle (sp?) was down to earth, attentive, and considerate (reason for the 4th star). I ordered the funnel cake, which tasted great with a couple of beers and my peeps had the wings. To top it all off...the DJ was spinning some great tunes (and he was cute). Overall, a decent spot to chill at during happy hour. Oh, and it just so happens that Tuesday is 50 cent wing night--the wings are about 30% larger than a particularly popular establishment's wings....and from what I'm told they're good.
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
A++++ on service. I can't remember who our waitress was, but this Ellen Page look-alike was the bomb. She talked to us, gave us free shots, explained the menu, and didn't even flinch when we gave her a Scout Mob coupon (that's usually a deal breaker). Not to mention the food, which came out hot, fresh, and delicious. The menu isn't perfect, nor particularly wide ranging, but the burgers (mine veggie, my friend's sliders) and fries really hit the spot. We also got the Funnel Fries, which were abundant and delicious. We're still confused on how they actually make them... The atmosphere is dark and chill and it was really empty on the Sunday night we came. I'd be interested to see what it's like on a busier day, but for now GC is pretty damn good in my book.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Will definitely stop by here when I visit D.C again. Why? I ordered a cider, gave the bartender a $20 and she gave me back more than $10. $4 more in fact. On a Saturday night. At 11:30 PM.
google avatar

Erika T.

Yelp
Last night was my first time at Grand Central. I went for an event I learned about through a third party. The World Series was shown on all screens and a lot of people were there to watch the game. We stood for a while because there were maybe 20 chairs available in the whole place including the upstairs bar area which was semi-closed off. I was with a friend who has a disability and we were going to leave so she could sit down somewhere because she was in a lot of pain from standing. A large group left and some seats opened up at the bar, so we decided to stay. We ordered some drinks - which were completely watered down, by the way...I watched her pour from a vodka bottle into the cup, but tasted no vodka, just a watered down cup of cranberry juice - anyway we were about to order food when security came over to ask for our chairs. At this point it was maybe 9:30. I asked why, he said he needed to pick them up. I asked why again and he said they had too many people in there. The bar was nowhere near full. There was a ton of room and a lot of people were in the upstairs or downstairs areas watching the game or hanging out. My friend said she can't stand because of a disability and offered to move the chair back toward the wall. He said no. I told him there was a lot of space elsewhere and asked if a chair could be moved somewhere else. He said no AND STARTED TO PULL THE CHAIRS WE WERE IN AWAY FROM THE BAR! The lack of compassion was bad enough, but not allowing us to get out of the chairs before trying to put them away was egregious. Cool atmosphere inside, friendly bartenders, terrible ADA policy. Won't be back.

Yelp
I have gone several times and it has always been a pretty good time. We recently visited for dinner and the meal was better than I would have expected! It was great because we were able to get a table close to the front and people watch while we ate. If you come on a weekend night prepare to be hot and it will be super crowded. We also had a wait to get drinks and they seemed fairly decently priced for this area. I like that is has 3 floors and 2 bars so there should be plenty of space, but like I said before-it does get crowded. However, it only has one bathroom and if your a woman you know how crowded it can become on a busy night. I like the music the DJ was playing because it was mix of today's top hits(hip-hop, rap, some classic throw-backs) and he kept the mood very upbeat.
google avatar

Sean F.

Yelp
Grand Central can be considered an Adams Morgan staple. It's larger than most of the Adams Morgan bars and comes complete with 3 floors of music, drinks and fun. There is enough space for the folks that like to dance and a few fans that can help you cool off. The drinks are okay and usually they have different specials available. The music is a pretty good blend of everything top 40, sometimes the dj has been fire and other times lackluster. I enjoy the space, the fans and the fair drink prices. It's a good place for a group. I came once on a date during the week and the place was pretty dead but they did have good drinks specials and the bartender poured up a pretty good drink. Overall with respect to other bars in AdMo I'd say Grand Central is an above average bar worthy of a stop during your late night bar hopping.
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
I came here last night to see a few buddies and watch the UNC-Dook game. I don't normally come to Adams Morgan, since it's not very metro accessible. I liked the vibe of this place, however. There were a decent amount of places to sit, and it wasn't overly crowded.
google avatar

Jeremy M.

Yelp
This place always reminds me of frat parties. It's always a packed, busy and drunken night. It is Adams Morgan so if that's what you're going for, check it out. I will say they never seem to have enough bartenders. It's usually a fight or long wait to get a beer. If you get drinks, I'd "stock up" with a pitcher or getting 2 at a time.
google avatar

Andy P.

Yelp
Probably the best bar in Adams Morgan. Drinks were awesome and service was great. I'll be back.
google avatar

Alyssa K.

Yelp
Wow. Stepped foot in this place after literally almost 4 years after moving out of DC and it was like a damn time warp. No cover here is a huge selling point to this place, but the multiple music floors also is sweet since it brings different crowds. The basement playing gangster rap that has kids grinding like an unchaperoned middle school dance, upstairs with a mix of top 40 and edm stuff and the main level with whatever the Dj spits out. The service is fast and the drinks aren't horrifically expensive (from what I see on bar tabs?) I remember coming here in college and after and there are a ton of broke 20 somethings so it's your typical watering hole. The ceiling is architectural, looking like...omg...Grand Central. The ironic part is that this is DC and that's why it's supposed to be funny. So go sit in the photo booth and order a RumChada college style even if you're not.

Dan C.

Yelp
Vanessa is the best bartender ever! I was there last week and she did not miss a beat; honestly this chick deserves a promotion lol. Will be back again soon.
google avatar

Haiku review guy ..

Yelp
Dark, grimy dance floor Cheap booze, hip hop, pretty girls Regular for life
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
You know, I'm going to keep it real and honestly say that I NEVER remember much about this place other than the fact that the drinks are pretty good and there's no cover because I have usually had way too many of those drinks to have any recollection. If you don't walk out of here with blurry eyes, then something is just not right!. With that being said, as many times as I have been here, I NEVER noticed that it was supposed to look like a train station on the inside. Wow, I fail! haha
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
Ooh, is it a train? Is it a bar? Is it a train-bar? Color me confused! It's new and different and exciting and omg there's a train on the wall! And once you get over the initial novelty of being in D.C.'s alcoholic homage to the Metro, you realize it's just another bar. The on-tap beer selection is not impressive. Decent happy hour deals (which go until 9 p.m. on the weekdays; that actually makes it worth going to). There's a few small tables out front for warm summer days. The server I had was reasonably attentive and friendly. I'd go back if other people were going, but I wouldn't make a special trip for it. As far as transportation themed-bars go, I'd rather spend my money at Fly Lounge.
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
The security guys are rude, the bartender was a jackass about it when he screwed up our order and the music really isn't my bag, baby, and, you know, I should really just stop going out in Adams Morgan altogether because never, ever, ever have fun (exceptions made for: Toledo, Pharmacy, Blaguard). Drinks are not cheap and the rail vodka tasted like it was brewed out back in a large copper pot by a one-eyed hillbilly under a full moon, and then put into a plastic jug covered with cyrillic gibberish. BUT the male patrons here don't hassle you. They just line up along the walls and stare, much like prepubescents at a middle school dance. Extra star!

Yelp
Gentlemen: Dash your loins with Johnson's baby powder. Put on your newest drawers and amply splash yourself with Cool Water cologne. Put out that hand and let it bob slowly to Wale and Kanye West. Cause, son, you about to get laid. Ladies: Throw on that skank ass blouse you bought in the clearance aisle of Forever 21 for $7. Don't worry, your mother ain't watchin. Hose yourself with JLo's newest fragrance. Time to get rid of those inhibitions, girl. Slip on those black stiletto fuck me boots (you gotta take out those ho-hoppers some time) and hump someone's knee like you're at a Prince concert and its 1999. You know its true.
google avatar

Sara U.

Yelp
It's a place like GC and a review like this that make me question my sanity. You'd think with all of the awful experiences I have had here, I would hate this place, but for some reason I keep going back... by choice! So the bartenders are assholes, plain & simple. I have been yelled at here before, and I am not that awful of a person... I swear! But apparently if you try to order a drink here and you challenge the bartender's action to help the girl with no bra who walks up to the bar and immediately gets served, you're going to get yelled at. I suggest you double-fist like I do (not a sexual term) and order 2 beers instead of 1. Btw - if you go upstairs, that bar is smaller, but you tend to get served quicker. So the dance floors are grimy and dangerous. There are spilled drinks and beer bottles everywhere. I have literally cut my foot from kicking a broken beer bottle as I was trying to get my groove on. I still have the scar on my big toe where blood gushed - btw, thank you to you 3 random drunk girls in the bathroom who actually helped me with my bloody toe by ensuring I had sufficient amounts of paper towel. Anyway, your shoes will undoubtedly get sticky from all the spilled beverages, so I highly suggest you don't wear your fancy shoes to this place. So the majority of the patrons here are grimy. I have been acosted too many times to count.. anywhere else I'd file a police report and probably have my likeness featured on an episode of Law & Order SVU, but this is just how GC is... so like it or leave it. You will get bumped and grinded on, fondled, and maybe even impregnanted, so if this scares the shit out of you, avoid the downstairs dance floor at all costs. It is too dark to tell who the culprit is anyway. After all that, though, liking GC to me is like having a crush on the popular guy who - even after he treats you like shit - you still kinda wanna get with him. Here's why: most of the bars in AM are all the same: bars filled with frat boys or girls who are so overly dressed, you'd think it was prom. Every other bar will undoubtedly start the night with Beyonce's Single Ladies.. and end with Journey or Bon Jovi as last call is announced. Some of the other bars further down 18th street try to be classy and charge you a cover --- seriously?! All in all... GC is just what people say it is. If you like to dance and you do not mind being humped from the front and back simultaneously, you will have a fine time. Go upstairs where it is less crowded and you will have a better time.. and if you don't, these words are not intended to be a verbal contract and, thus, are not legally binding.
