Absolutely fantastic BBQ at Grand Champion! Friendly staff, fast service, and a fun, casual vibe. Great sides, too—mac & cheese is a must. Definitely my new go‑to spot for BBQ in Atlanta!

Father’s Day Experience Arrived around 3:30pm on a Sunday, maybe 4 customers ahead of us with it being my Mother’s first time and my third time, happy to have the menu posted on the wall but disappointed that an announcement wasn’t made that only 2 options were available, now customers have to decide at the register what they want after having their decision already made and being their first time. We were only left with 2 options ( turkey or pork sandwich ) and 4 sides ( collards, chips, chilli & cole slaw ) with not one suggestion. When you work at a smaller establishment, employees should help with suggestions if asked. This partial employee didn’t help with suggestions knowing the full menu wasn’t available. His response “ we have been busy all afternoon “ …. What does that have to do with helping someone make a decision? If you want someone’s business, you help someone make a decision instead of saying “ I don’t know “ .. I’ve worked in customer service for 15yrs and management for 13 of those years. Train your employees on how to make suggestions. My first time eating at this establishment the employee helped us make suggestions knowing, it was my first time and even gave us a sample of the banana pudding, just being kind to us. With that being said as we were walking off my mother wanted to make a separate purchase to take home but once again that option wasn’t available because no one made that announcement, the person behind us made a nasty comment about how we need to hurry up and MOVE IT .. It was uncalled for but that could’ve been prevented if someone would’ve stated to everyone in line that only 2 options are available. I will not be back after that experience. Great food but that experience turned me off from coming back.

Great customer service and it was very clean throughout the place. The meat was very good and it was very tender. However, the collard greens and baked beans were just average. Lastly, the food wasn’t really hot. 2nd visit - I had to another star because the wings are really that good and they are a nice size.

Seen this bbq place everyday after work. So decided to check it out, the vibe was on point. The owner was actually doing the ordering and told us what was on special and on the menu. Was very greeting and polite. Overall ordered the pull pork and brisket and cheddar and jalapeño and man I know a good food and it did not let me down. The food was scrumptious. I would return and would recommend it.

The food was great but we were starving so we got the big platter that came with a little of everything. My favorite was the ribs and brisket, hers was the ribs and the sausage. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Having lived in GA, Virginia and Texas I can assure you this is quality bbq. Half of the google reviews of this place are complete bullshit. Yea, white bread is commonly served with bbq in the south, the food is not at all bland, in fact the brisket is the best I’ve had since leaving Texas. If you’re comparing this pace to Jim N’ Nicks you’ve got no idea what good bbq is. The owner is amazing. Service is spectacular. Try their burger if you get the chance too!

I love the brewery next door, but not a super fan of this BBQ. I actually go out of my way to eat elsewhere and come to the brewery after. Ordered the BBQ plate, which looks like the photos accompanying this reviews. Sides are collard greens and Mac n cheese. The collard greens are ok. The mac n cheese, which is a “premium” side, is truly abysmal. Honestly the worst mac n cheese I have ever tried. There is almost no cheese, and the pasta is over cooked (and completely the wrong shape for this type of serving). It was served very sloppily - touching the metal trays which probably do not get washed after every customer (even if they do, food is not supposed to directly touch them). The pulled pork tastes pretty good. It only comes with one piece of white sandwich bread, which I don’t really get. Maybe it’s a southern thing; I grew up in the south but I’m not especially well-versed in BBQ norms. I personally don’t prefer white bread with my BBQ, but that’s personal preference. Overall, it’s just ok. If I ate here again, I’d just get the pulled pork itself. Avoid the mac n cheese at all costs.

I actually don’t get to eat there because they ran out of food. At 5:45 pm. On a Saturday. And it wasn’t even crowded. Smelled good though, so 3 stars and a wasted dinner trip because there are no other options there.

Grand Champion BBQ is my new "OFFICIAL" favorite BBQ spot. My great friend Marcus D. Jackson Sr. Invited me to join them, its so good they were there for the 2nd day in a row. The brisket was expertly seasoned & very tender, with a perfect layer of fat that made my mouth water. 5/5 The Mac & Cheese was excellent, I havnt tasted better. The macaroni shells used hold a lot of cheese & sauce. So delicious! 5/5 The Turkey slices had the perfect amount of pepper seasoning, and it was unbelievably tender, with some sourdough bread this Turkey will make a great sandwich as well. 5/5 The sausage is made in-house, I enjoyed the smokey flavor, but it wasn't too spicey, a perfect blend of ingredients, what I imagined a "KONTRY" sausage should taste like. 5/5 The greens were "good" a little too much sweet with a hint of vinegar. Personally i love stems left in the greens,(more nutrients) but wifey isnt a fan of stems in greens. 4/5 Brotwurst Stew Wonderful, but needs to be served in a "BIGGER" bowl, bc its so flavorful, but maybe not as many hot green peppers. 5/5 Grand Champion BBQ You have been Tongue Tested!

If you like OverPriced & BAD BBQ !!! This is the place for you !!! The food cost is higher than the cost of living! & the absolute worst part is the food is bland ! This business goes by 2 different names. 1 has all positive reviews & the other has a the true! They are duping their customers with the fake reviews to get us in the door. To serve you meme BBQ! The food is overpriced & bland ! They need a new chef.

Straight to the point bbq. Executed well, but stacked up against the competition in Atlanta, leaves more to desired. I'm used to seeing and/or smelling the smoke from the pit when eating at a bbq establishment. It tastes great, but feels like it was "revived to order". I can imagine it being far better fresh off the fire, after resting.

The BBQ here is amazing. We like to eat here when we visit the neighboring brewery. Their hours are kind of weird during the winter so make sure you know before you go. Grab a plate, grab a beer, sit in the shared dining rooms and have a great time with friends.

1/2 Rack of Ribs -Great Brisket Sandwich -Great Potato Salad -Good Baked Beans -Good Mac n Cheese -Good Service -TERRIBLE. The African American mid/late 40s gentleman is terrible rude. Makes you feel like an idiot if you pick something off the menu that they no longer have available. It's not my fault you don't have an updated menu. This guy acts like he is the king of BBQ but all this location is is a dumping ground to sell end of day/old catering BBQ from their main location. They do not cook anything in-house. Don't be get me wrong, it's good food but the service and ambiance makes me want to patronize elsewhere. That guy sucks

Yikes. This used to be one of my favorite bbq places. I took a friend here for dinner and we were both disappointed. We both had the brisket and it was so dry, even with bbq sauce we didn't finish it. The coleslaw and green beans were so bland. Potato salad was the only thing that actually had some flavor.

Food is ok tasting but drastically overpriced. The $7 side of macaroni and cheese is literally a single scoop in a 3"x2" container. Should be 1/4 the price.

I've had their food at some of the other locations, although it's been awhile. It's exciting to have more food options in this area so I wanted to give them a try again. As I remember, they're food is on the mediocre side. We got the baby back ribs, collards, and Mac n cheese. The rub on the ribs had a good flavor that needed a little more salt, sadly, the ribs were kind of dry. I didn't care for the red BBQ sauce. Mac n cheese lacked seasoning and the kinds of cheese were not the stronger cheeses that make Mac n cheese tasty. The collard greens weren't well seasoned either, I wouldn't have known that they were cooked with hamhocks if I didn't see it on their menu. They do have family meals available with a meat (no ribs) and two sides.

They have good brisket but this place is very overpriced. Sides need improvement, bland and not tasty. No fresh ice tea either (weird for a bbq place). Hours suck too.

LAWRD!!! GC BBQ made my night!!!!! I was browsing on yelp when I saw it popped up on my list as a new restaurant. Its right off of Bankhead Highway/Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. It is below The Eddy Apartment complex, a nice up and coming area. I ordered online the brisket sandwich $8.99 and my husband had the pulled pork sandwich $6.99. I ordered a medium mac and cheese $7.99 for us to share. I selected curbside pick up but they are open for dine in with social distancing. The area seems to be a little gem and I cant wait to visit again. I use to frequent the location in Milton, Ga because of work. I am so happy there is a location so close to me. Thank you Grand Champion for making my husband and I night a success!! My husband is officially sold on the BBQ! I see some catering in the future.

Food is average but overpriced and staff is rude. Not very clean and they close very early.

The service at this location is horrific. The guy whose usually there is rude as heck. He knows who he is and is usually there on sundays. So not only is the food extremely expensive the service is so bad it's not worth it. I would suggest avoiding this place like the black plague. Lots of better bbq with better service. You have an entire community that would bring business if your staff wasn't a jack - - -

The food is so bland I almost thought I had Covid again. Employees were very nice but the food was't great. Very bland brisket and mostly flavourless. The BBQ sauce is very sweet and they don't have a variety to select from. Don't recommend at all.

Probably top 5 worst BBQ out there ... everything tastes stale including briquet, chicken and all sides were horrible ....

Mac and cheese was on point and the brisket was good however a little dry on the pieces with no fat. Prices are a little hefty, for what u get but all in all good service and nice location. We will be back!

The food was ok. I went on a Saturday afternoon and the only thing that was available was pulled pork and a couple of sides. The soda machine was out of CO2 and the counter person was rude. He complained about being the only person that was working there for 2 months. He seemed bothered that we even showed up. I was disappointed because I wanted to try this place for awhile. I heard good things about the brisket but the service makes me not want to come back. Maybe I'll try the Milton location.

The food was mediocre. The food we received came out cold and had obviously been left out for some time. The older gentleman that took our order was extremely unwelcoming. Finally, the menu is extremely limited with there being just 3 side options and few variations for entrees. Definitely a regretful Friday night dinner choice.

Great curbside service with mobile ordering. Part of the Eddy, great area to visit near the river. Service is prompt, friendly, and lives up to the name. All their meat stands alone as excellent. The traditional sauce is very thin and tangy - which is perfect for any of their meats. The NC sauce is a mustard dressing with some sweet heat. Our favorite was the half slab of pork ribs. Just perfect, like candy. We also enjoyed their brisket. While I love it fatty, they do offer the lean option which is made perfect to order. All their pork and smoked meat gives you the option of outside/inside. Baked beans are simple, delicious, sweet, and compliment the meats versus being being the same flavor, as some places prefer the beans catch the smoker drippings. I love that style too, this is just a great version that is based on their traditional sauce. Will try the sausage and SC sauces next time. And we definitely recommend supporting this business and it's adjoining brewery or coffee shop.

The brisket is so good! Also really liked the potato salad. Love this bbq and how close it is to a brewery!

We really enjoyed our lunch here! I ordered the salad with smoked chicken, My husband ordered ribs with the Mac&cheese and collards - both were great! It was out quickly and they brought it right over to us at Reformation. We will definitely make this a rotation in our weekends.

The guy serving tonight was super nice! But whoever owns & officially runs this place must not give a d*mn. One person taking orders & serving the food, he said he wasnt feeling well & closed for 2 hrs, Ive been here twice & I'll be nice and say the food is mediocre. Its the only option (when going to to Reformation Brewery) so I guess I'll take it.

Have driven by Grand Champion BBQ a few times, decided to try it recently. The bbq joint is attached to Reformation Brewery Smyrna. It's clean and friendly service. Has a cool modern vibe to the place. I ordered the chicken plate with green beans and potato salad. The green beans had a slight spicy taste to them but other than that, tasted like any green beans. The potato salad was ok. The texture of the potato was perfect, not too hard and not too soft, however it was on the sweeter end. If you like that type of taste then you may like this potato salad. The Chicken was ok as well. Overall, this BBQ place fell short in my expectations.

Just one of those days I craved bbq and this was the closet that I knew of with brisket. Ordered 3 brisket and 2 pork sandwiches with a side of coleslaw. I saw another review where someone said the meat was tasteless and it was exactly that. All I can really say is I have it a try. I'll leave it at that other than it was a waste of money. Ate 1/2 a brisket sandwich and 1/2 off the pull pork and the remainder went to the trash.

Food wins (that's why I go out to eat). Brisket was flavorful and tender. Pulled pork sandwich is excellent. With patience you'll be rewarded.

I love this place. The location is so random and I'm the middle of nowhere but once you get there it is worth it. The outdoor dining and river views make this so fun and there is a beer hall next door and a coffee shop with treats also. Such a bomb southern bbq spot and that Mac n cheese is incredible ! Best Mac n cheese I have had in Georgia so far. The chicken sandwich is perfect and so is the potato salad

Solid BBQ with Reformation Brewery attached. This location is a bit hidden for now, so not as busy as the other locations. Plenty of open air seating, and a river park for the little ones to run around after eating.

Came on site today and they are Closed at 2:30 pm on a Thursday because they have no food. Hit or miss. Check out Atl Fusion or TDT bbq, if you want some good bbq.

First time going. I do plan to go back just in case it was a bad day. I had the beef brisket, which was super dry. I mean super dry! Ribs were OK, but not worth the price. Baked beans were horrible. The best thing was the Zapp's chips. I also understand it's COVID, but all employees should wear a mask. All! The two guys at the front, no mask. None. If I go back and try the food again, I won't order if no mask. They also didn't have their seats at least 6 ft apart. I didn't eat there because of that. I want to like this place. Please be better.

I used to love coming here for the beef ribs and brisket. I've been following them since Krog Street location. Today I was disappointed to find out that there's no beef ribs. Normally it would be ok, but the guy sold me the rack saying they were beef. When I got home (30 minutes away) I opened them to see no beef ribs. Wasted money, time, and gas. I called the establishment for the young man to say sorry we only sell pork ribs and he can't do anything about it. Why didn't he say that when I asked? Even after I specifically said my sons allergic. Very disappointed in a place I've been going to since they opened at Krog.

I was excited to see a bbq spot near my home so I didn't have to drive to Heirloom all the time. I was so very disappointed! Everything lacked flavor in a MAJOR way. . The slice of white bread had more flavor than the brisket and pulled pork. I was not a fan of the sauce, but I'm very picky about sauce so no stars deduced for that. It was just the meat. It had no smoky flavor, it could have been baked in the oven with zero seasoning. Ugh! Guess I'm going back to Heirloom. Their meat never disappoints.

Great visit wonderful food you can tell they really enjoy what they're doing. We had the Pulled Pork Nachos, and Bavarian Pretzel for appetizers for the main course we had Baby Backed Ribs, Pulled Pork, Brisket, Cole Slaw, and Potato Salad followed by the Banana Pudding for dessert EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS

Relatively new place. Prompt service. Very friendly staff. Fair priced. We had ribs, pulled pork & brisket. The Q was excellent. When you can cut Q with a plastic fork, you know it's going to be good. The only thing that was not quite so appealing was that the brisket was very fat which is a shame because the smoking and the flavor were otherwise excellent.

The food was okay and the atmosphere was nice. We got the pulled pork plates with collard greens, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and Brunswick stew.

The inside of this location was really nice - we really liked the atmosphere and the idea that you could play games while waiting on your food. I ordered the rib and meat combo (pulled pork) with greens and coleslaw. The ribs and pulled pork were tender, but wasn't hot. The coleslaw was okay (but I wouldn't get again) and the greens had no flavor - kinda like they just cooked them in water with no seasoning. My husband had the low n slow (brisket) with Brunswick stew and mac & cheese. The low n slow was over saturated with the BBQ sauce, the meat in the Brunswick strew lacked flavor, and the consistency of the stew was more like broth. The "award winning" Mac & cheese needed salt and pepper. The customer service was good, but we won't be back.

I love this place! The food is great and the service is awesome. Jack always provides great hospitality. I took my friends here when they came to visit and they loved it as well!

Ordered delivery through website and was pleasantly surprised. The twice cooked brisket is awesome, and so are the ribs and shredded pork. Potato salad and Cole slaw are also awesome and I am picky! Would definitely order again.

The food is good, but the service is awful. They never seem to have the full menu available and wait times are awful. A pulled pork sandwich to go shouldn't take 30 minutes to receive - especially when the pork is readily available.

As great as the food and menu options are, the prices are far driven up and staff are not wearing a mask anymore. If your willing to pay high expenses this place is perfect! The food is normally fresh and hot, but always is the best bbq!

My sweetie is a BBQ connoisseur, so we couldn't wait to try this new spot in our own backyard. We loved the convenience, but our BBQ ribs & chicken meal, Mac & cheese, & greens were just okay, not memorable. We wanted to try the brisket but they ran out, they didn't have whole chicken pieces, and the collards were a bit bland for our tastes.

The service was great but the food wasn't good, the brisket was extremely dry and so was the chicken I had the best part of the meal was the baked beans.

I decided to try the BBQ out of Curiosity and it was the worst mistake. I ordered chicken, spareribs, baked beans and coleslaw and it came with a slice of bread. The spareribs and chicken was dry. There was no seasoning on the meat-0. The baked beans were ok but I didn't finish. They had a odd taste. The coleslaw was horrible. Now the bbq sauce was ok and the slice of bread was they best. The one thing they didn't make was great. The food is so terrible- if they decided to offer me another meal for free I'd say "No". If you like bland and dry food you will like this place. If not stay away!

Yummy BBQ for sure. The atmosphere is very cool. Sharing space with Reformation Brewery, the vibe is great for a sunny Saturday. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious food, but giving 3 stars because 2 staff preparing food weren't wearing masks and 1 separate from them had a mask on but no gloves and she was restocking the food. In addition, the line was very long to order and no one was practicing physical distancing because the layout of the restaurant isn't great for this and for some reason the garage door was shut. Why aren't they following proper guidelines?

Absolutely love this bbq joint! Not only is it the best brisket I've had to date, but now I have added chicken salad to my weekly meal plan. All staff is extremely helpful. Alex has become my go to server and proving himself to be management material.

The food and atmosphere was perfect. I had the ribs and they were amazing, my friend had the brisket which was just as good. Alex made our experience even better it felt like I was at home in my own backyard. We will definitely go again. Thank you guys for being open and being great host.
