This place was a total surprise—in the best way! Tucked in the back of the mall near Target, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once inside, it delivers big laughs and a great atmosphere. The lineup featured three comedians—two openers and a headliner who had the crowd laughing non-stop for a solid 45 minutes. We sat right up front by the stage and got hilariously roasted—so if you’re sensitive, maybe avoid the front row! The venue held about 100+ people, with a fun, diverse crowd ranging from 21 to 75, and a chill vibe overall. Tickets are $17 per person and must be purchased online, which gets you on the list—no line, but if you want specific seats, arrive early and ask. The food was surprisingly good—I highly recommend the garlic breadsticks -guaranteed to be finished before your pizza arrives. Drinks are on the pricier side ($11 for a draft beer), but it’s a fair trade for the entertainment value. Pro tip: park behind the restaurant, not in front of Target. Target closes at 10 PM, and the show runs later, meaning you’ll have to walk around the mall to get back to your car otherwise. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

Google
Grand Comedy Club delivered! Great venue, not a bad seat in the house. Drinks are fantastic and food is really good. The comedians we saw, even the openers were amazing. Thanks Steve Byrne and Camille Waters for putting on a great show. Good work Grand Comedy Club We will be back.. often!

Google
Been to the new location twice and had a GREAT time. The pizza is amazing, the comics were great and the atmosphere is inviting. Yes, it's in North County Mall...but it's a great space down by Target and Adam has really stepped up the game. All the TVs for sports, bar open 7 days a week, happy hour specials -- all awesome! Thank you Adam for being dedicated to not closing Grand Comedy Club and relocating it to a much more convenience place right off the freeway! Love it! Will be back often!

Google
Great comedy and good food. get there at least 30 min early to get a good seat especially if your in a group of four or more. food and drinks didnt come out until comedians were on stage. they could use a few more wait staff but the ones that were working were friendly and as fast as they could be. Great stage area with a good amount of seating. great prices as well. highly recommend going.

Google
My son was starving after Apple Camp and even though there was a comedy show the staff made him a pizza to go. On top of it they were so sweet and funny and engaging. It's so great to see such awesome customer service. Thanks again from a mom of a kid with a full and happy belly.

Google
We love Grand Comedy Club and have gone back even though we moved out of Escondido. But…they have to figure out a way to get drinks and food to people’s tables faster! We were hoping the new location would be better at this than the old, but it seems to have gotten worse, sadly. We didn’t get a chance to even place a drink order until the second comedian was on, our first drinks came about 30 minutes later as the headliner was on, and we didn’t get our food until there was only 20 minutes left in the show! They were getting the table next to us’ order out as the show ended! Maybe QR code ordering from the table or take first drink orders as people are being seated? They could sell a lot more food and drinks - we would have had at least one more round if we had been able to!

Google
This particular review is just for the bathroom DURING the comedy show tonight. I love that you can still hear the comedians when you're peeing without missing anything. Also the new venue is great. Pizza is WAY better than the previous location too. Get the Blanco pizza with a side of marinara. And if you have to pee, do it, show is still great.

Google
The new venue is a great space, better seating, expanded food and drink menu. They have a good draft selection along with wine and cocktails. And opening weekend had great comedians! Now that its a full time sports bar with a ton of TVs and great A/V system I can't wait to return for some March Madness next week and Football in the fall. If you have been to the old location you will enjoy some of the expanded options of the new location and you will still laugh your arses off with solid comics every weekend.

Yelp
Been here several times now. Solid line-ups, staff's really cool. One of my go-to spots for a fun night out.

Yelp
Won free tickets to a show Friday! Laughed so hard! The comedians were great! Headliner Monty was hilarious. Venue was well run, easy to find , park & clean. Highly recommend attending. Plan to go again soon! Couple things to Note: -its in the old location where California pizza kitchen was, next to old Nordstrom. -they look you up on a list when you arrive. Great smooth process -2 item purchase required per person, water bottles, tea, soda was reasonably priced at $6 each -food was ok but pricey, I would eat & drink prior next time & just stick to 1 cocktail or a diet coke & water Must try place!

Yelp
My husband & I went last Friday to see Lachlan Patterson & had a blast! It is located in the mall, & also has a main entrance from the parking lot. If you arrive early, they have a bar you can enjoy drinks at. However, do not order a lot because the club has a 2 minimum drink/food per person, & the drinks from the bar do not count. The food & drinks are pricey too. Check in early to get front seats & the club gets packed quick. There had a few stand ups before who were funny, & then Lachlan stole the show. He was hilarious, interacted with the crowd & was overall just a great time. If you get the Clipper Magazine, look out for a BOGO for the club.

Yelp
Located on the east side of the Escondido Westfield mall. Yes this club moved from grand to the mall. The entrance to the club can not be accessed via exterior wall. You need to enter the mall and then enter the comedy club. They have a waiting and bar area in the middle of the wall. We came on March 15, the second grand opening day of the new location. Positives: the shows were funny. Plenty of parking. Michael palascak was the headliner but all the comedians were amazing. I have been to a couple of shows in LA before and the quality here is so high. Remember, it's going to be adult jokes, sex, death, jobs, marriage, funny as hell. Negatives: need to order 2 items. Doesn't have to be two drinks. It can be 1 drink, 1 food. Price of the ticket to enter was reasonable. But one vodka sprite is $15. One lemon drop is $19. One pizza which comes with two large slices is $16. I forgot the price of beer. I would recommend stay away from cosmopolitan, lemon drop, Long Island, drinks with names as it's $$$. Just do rum and coke or vodka sprite. May come again if I can figure out how to minimize the drink cost.

Yelp
Fun date night spot! It's in the mall so parking is abundant. Good show, nice staff, fairly priced. The one thing is the food/drink situation. 2 item minimum but the food is...meh. Mostly pizza and it wasn't very good or fresh. I'll be back though for the comedy
google avatar

Yelp
We enjoy sitting at the bar, getting a drink, a pizza and a salad. Also love the meatball sandwich. Fun place for people watching.

Yelp
Love this new location! Great parking and nice roomy set up. Staff is super friendly too. We went to the clean comedy show last night and it was very good! We don't have kids but wanted some less raunchy content than the usual comedians. It was nice seeing families laugh together! The pizza was delicious and came quickly but we waited almost an hour for our sodas - despite asking a few times. Finally I had the mime bring it to me. I went to a regular show there last Saturday night and saw Rick Voss. He was great but the two comedians before him very very raunchy- maybe I'm just getting old. Still, I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Rebekah B.

Yelp
Love the decor, the fact that it's in the mall now and not on a sketchy street (that always made for an easy joke), and they have some good comedians come in! They have random dollar deals for those signed up to the email system. Full price, you're gonna pay $25/person plus 2 food or drink items- so total bill after tip will be around $100 for a show for 2 people. On dollar show deals, it's half that. You will laugh, though some comedians are more explicit than others. Also, they do (not often enough) have a clean joke night directed towards kids- though we haven't tried that yet. Overall, it's a fun experience- especially if you stand out to the jokester on stage

Yelp
It's been a minute since I came here but had to see the new location at the the olda CPK. As always I was not disappointed! The host had more jokes or funnier ones I'm not sure but I appreciated it. I wish I could remember the opening comic's name because he was hilarious! I was laughing so hard the entire time honestly. When JC came on he also had me dying. There were times when I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard! It was such a blast and the white pizza and Hawaiian were both great slices at $16 for 2 each. We got discounted tickets through VIP mailing list online while I've had every time I've gone! The bar out front is a good spot. I like that they have more stuff going on during the week at this spot too. Trivia, karaoke, and open mic night in addition to the comedy shows Friday and Saturday. I will keep recommending them to others and would love to come back and laugh some more!

Yelp
Super convenient location (in North County Fair). Good beer, good food, great people. Came for Wednesday Karaoke night. Saw a bunch of people having a ton of fun! Need to make this a regular stop.

Yelp
Went here the first time for my first date with my boyfriend a couple years ago. We went and saw the super funny Erik Griffin and had an absolute blast. Since, we have been back to see many comedians here. The comedians are actually funny for starters. Service is prompt and they're well organized. Clear view of the stage. Yummy pizza and a drink selection to suit everyone's tastes. Staff have always been friendly, as well as the owner who's gone out of his way to get us the best spot. This place is great for parents wanting a night out, dates, family gatherings (I brought my family here, we loved it) and we've also had fun evenings with our friends. We're super grateful for this spot. Escondido, get tickets to a show here, you'll have a great time & you'll be supporting local!

Yelp
Highly recommend! Excited to finally go to grand comedy... the new location at the mall is easy access/plenty of parking, reasonable prices (all comedy clubs have 2 item min w drinks a little above avg), good food (made it easy and basically limited to salad and pizza), and good drink selection... I'm excited to try trivia and karaoke nights at some point!

Yelp
Overall, I love this place, its great having a comedy club in Escondido so close to my home. Adam is awesome and I very much appreciate the talent which he brings in. They have a two-drink minimum, which is to be expected at ANY comedy club, the staff there is friendly, and they have a good enough selection of food and drinks to ensure you are catered to well for your evening. My only complaint is that there tends to be the same comedians quite a bit, I am sure that tends to be the same as most comedy clubs, I just check the calendar all the time here as it is so close! There is a VIP list, which you should 100% get on, as you get emails for upcoming shows with a chance to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the public, as well as discounted shows and events. I highly recommend checking it out as you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Went opening weekend with my good friend from Hawai'i. Good venue, good show. Still gotta work out the kinks and the flow. Need a few more bartenders at the outside bar. Bartender was overwhelmed with the crowd ordering drinks and the people sitting at the bar never got served until another guy came out to help her. Paid cash for our drinks (no change required) which seemed to irritate the bartender. Luckily we got there early and the guy at the door told us to get a number and come back as they were running about 1/2 an hour late for the 2nd show at 8:30. Went to eat and have drinks at Red Robin (lost revenue for GCC). Couldn't really see the drink menu or our bill in the dark. Comedians (4) were as expected (some funny, some not so funny) but that's based upon your personal preference. Overall, fun night out. Can't wait to go back after they've been running awhile and see if they get the kinks worked out!

Yelp
Finally visited their new location in the mall in Escondido. As much as I love the charm of Grand Avenue, the ease of a mall location is really nice. Tons of parking!! I hosted a party of 18 for my husbands birthday. I emailed the club in advance to request reserved seating. Adam, the owner, responded immediately and made that happen. I hope this place stays open for years to come!

Yelp
Such a great local spot! So many reasons to love it! 1. Early shows for people like me that can barely stay awake after 9pm! My friend and I caught the 6:30 show. Score! 2. Reasonably priced tickets- 10 dollars! 3. Two item minimum...but it's not just drinks! Not a drinker? No problem! The show had 2 opening acts and then the headliner came out. Such an enjoyable evening! 5 stars!

Yelp
My wife and I love this place and love that it's in Escondido! Went to see Carolyn Raye last night, and like always, had a blast! Great service, comfortable inside, nice cold beers, good crispy BBQ chicken pizza, large and great anti-pasta salad with good dressing. The 3 comedians before her were all very funny, and she was too. It was cool she was taking pictures with those who were there after, and we got 1 with her too. Already picking out our next comedian to see.

Shelly B.

Yelp
I'm so happy they are open again and stayed in Escondido! I've been going to their old location on Grand since they first opened and have been so worried when they announced the closure and relocation since so many other businesses seem to be struggling. As a born, raised, & current resident of Esco and lover of comedy, this makes me so so happy. This past weekend was their opening weekend AND my birthday. It was perfect timing for me to bring 15 friends out to celebrate and share one of my favorite local spots. We got there shortly after the doors opened and got seated quickly with food/drink orders within minutes. There was a couple gaps in service but for opening weekend it's bound to happen as they get the employees adjusted to the unique demands of a comedy club. Andy now has another manager on board and after meeting him I could tell they are both eager to provide great service and a fun experience. I am so excited to see their success and growth!

Yelp
Craig Shoe"zero talent " been saying same jokes over a decade. Super fast delivery and just needs to slow his roll.....after you hear his show, then comes the owner to put you to sleep begging for advertising
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
I've been coming to Grand Comedy Club for years and I recommend it to anyone who is in town visiting. To my knowledge, it's the only comedy club in North County and it consistently brings in solid acts. You can't go wrong with a night out with friends and laughs at Grand Comedy Club!
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
I've been coming to Grand Comedy since the original location and so happy to see it grow and expand. Adam brings comics to North County, Taylor Tomlinson, Adam Ray, Neil Brennan, Jay Mohr. New location is super convenient and a fun hang out in Esco. Love Grand Comedy!
google avatar

Ed O.

Yelp
Love this place for many reasons. They have great comedy acts for reasonable prices, free parking, nice seating for a comedy show where you actually face the stage, and you see so many up and coming artists. Drinks are good, food is solid and overall very good.
google avatar

Jean K.

Yelp
Let me start out by saying the comedians were great. Pizza was delicious. No problem parking. But the place seems...chaotic. We had tickets but were seated without anyone ever asking for our name or proof that we had paid. The group at the table next to us got in for free while it cost us $80. They decided to attend the show at the last minute and were told to just walk in. Didn't seem fair. Pizza and drinks took over an hour to arrive, and by the time we were able to get someone from the wait staff over to us it was too late to order other drinks. We arrived early, hoping to have pizza and drinks before the show started but that doesn't seem possible - at least it wasn't when we were there. Not sure we would go back.

Jazmyne B.

Yelp
Saw Paul Rodriguez last night! Great Show! Food options are minimal. I suggested you have dinner before a show, just remember there is a 2 minimum purchase per person at the comedy club.

Yelp
EJ works the bar and she is amazing. We come back just to see her all the time. Never a disappointment. Definitely deserves a raise !

Yelp
I have to say, this is a date that my wife and always have a great time and laugh at. We went this weekend to the new location in the mall. I like it a lot better due to proximity to the freeway, availability of parking, great food and drink, and still great comedians week in and week out. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a night out with a lot of laughing.

Missy R.

Yelp
So excited for The Grand Comedy Club to reopen in the North County Mall! Excellent location close to the 15 freeway, lots of free parking, great lineup, great stage lighting, lots of seating, easy to buy reasonably priced tickets! I love that the stage was higher than ground level which made it was to see. A couple times I forgot I was at the mall! Amazing to have you back Grand Comedy Club! Great job with the new location! It's beautiful!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Glad to see Grand Comedy back! We were lucky to get to attend on opening night at the new location. The new venue is very spacious and welcoming. They did a great job making it feel like a real comedy club. They have a full bar now! Looking forward to seeing the big name comics come to North County again. They handled the opening night jitters and worked around first night obstacles like champs. Welcome back!

Cathie S.

Yelp
Saw Jesus Trejo as headliner and had a great time!!! 2nd time to the new venue in the North County Mall. Service was great, love the venue size and both times were a blast. Ready for a laugh, go to Grand Comedy Club (even if you've never heard of the comedian) it's always good for an affordable great time!!

Ingrid R.

Yelp
We had a great time! Impressive comedians were brought to this venue. I highly recommend coming here. Great owner and staff!

Yelp
Exceeded expectations. What to know and what to expect: * It goes without saying but there's a two "item" minimum here. That's standard for all comedy clubs. Food counts toward your minimum and you could technically purchase waterbottles at $7 each which I believe is the lowest price ($14) you can have to meet their minimum. Everyone seemed to be ordering drinks + food. * The food - The is provided by the adjoining thin-crust pizza shop. Pizza, salads, basic appetizers and some dessert. A personal pizza consists of two large slices from a large pizza. More than enough for one person. The pizza itself was really good, very flavorful (Margherita and the Works). I'd definitely come back to their pizza shop in the future. * Drinks. I don't have an issue with their alcoholic drink prices. I would say that their wine-based drinks like Margaritas and Long Island iced-teas really won't deliver a buzz, even after two of them. I'd recommend a white claw or wine if you're looking to artificially enhance the comedy. By comparison I had a happy hour margarita at Miguel's ($6) that was way stronger than both their "Sake" drinks combined. Just saying. * Comedians- Hats off to Grand Comedy Club's booking agent. From the host to the headliner it was quality and consistent laughs. I really didn't know what to expect as this was my fist time at a smaller, unknown club. The comics were on par with Las Vegas clubs and with places like the Comedy Cellar in New York. Location: Formally an Italian Restaurant called "Taste of Flourance". Remember that place? Well after 15+ years of abandonment it was successfully turned into a comedy club. Man, back in the day Maria made the best foccacia bread I've ever had.. Parking isn't too bad. You can enter the club through the patio underneath the marquee (correct way) or through the pizza shop. In summation, this was fun. I highly recommend taking in a show...

Yelp
Was a great show, with two headliners . Food and service was spot on. Great place to go for a fun time! Brought my spirits up!

Yelp
Adam, the owner, puts in 110% each and every time we go to Grand Comedy. For a new location grand opening, it went very smoothly and we enjoyed celebrating my husbands birthday there and he got a shot out:) You would never know you were in a mall with the curtains, lighting and acoustics. Simply a great way to spend time with loved ones with and get a good laugh. So glad we have a place like this in North County~

Tyler B.

Yelp
The new location felt a bit odd at first but as soon as we sat down, it felt good. The pizza came with two LARGE New York style slices and were delicious. The atmosphere was great, the sound was clear and crisp, and the prices are fair. Will for sure be back.

Kimberly L.

Yelp
First, get on their mailing list to learn who will be making an appearance! Second, more IAN BAGG! He calls it like he sees it, and 90% of his gig is what he gets from the audience and, man, was it HYSTERICAL last night! Third, new venue is fabulous - spacious, full bar, pizza is great! Adam and his team are working through the kinks, but couldn't be happier that it's right down the street. More than ever, we need LOTS of laughter in our world!

Shelly B.

Yelp
The four of us checked out this comedy club in their awesome new venue and had a ball of laughs among a full house! Conveniently located in the North County Mall, in the former California Pizza Kitchen. They have awesome cocktails! Next time, we will also try the food. Ticket price is very reasonable and the 2 purchase minimum is on par with other comedy clubs in San Diego County. They also keep the talent coming. As a longtime fan of stand up comedy, I'm happy to have a spot in North County to frequent.

Yelp
Went tonight for the first time to celebrate a friend's birthday. There was a group of 14 of us. The service was quick, the Mexican Mule was tasty. The acts were really good especially Mary Upchurch she was fantastic and quick witted engaging with the audience. Paul Ogata was the headliner who we came to see. He was also very interactive with the audience playing off several members, very funny. The room is a great size, comfortable with great viewing for all. A nice lobby and cool courtyard with exposed brick, from the adjoining building. Something different and fun to do in Escondido, check it out!

Yelp
I decided to try this place for my birthday. I purchased tickets on eventbrite which is cheaper than the direct site. When we arrived the owner came out and yelled at the young man working the register. It was very off putting. Awkward for us and disrespectful to his employee. However we went inside and didn't let it affect us but we were seated in arguably the worst seat In the house. But when people coming in started getting the center tables even though all of those around us were empty it seemed as if it was intentional to sit us there. Then some people sat in front of us and the owner came by and made a big deal about how they were given terrible seats and yells at the gentleman who seated them and moved them to a center table. The service was pretty bad as well. Everyone getting seated after us was served before us. All I ordered was 2 simple waters and everyone else at the table had food before we even had any of the drinks. Overall the place seems to be ran very unorganized. I don't put any blame on the servers. The drinks were coming out and the worker was going to multiple tables asking did you order this? Like no real system of how to serve who when and how to know what goes to what table. The owner obviously blames his staff instead of taking an accountability which was evident in how he treated those working there in front of customers. Not to mention his terrible attempt at stand up at the end of the show. I came to Yelp after the show and even though there are surprisingly few critical reviews, the business owner responds very unprofessionally and defensive which if I had seen first would have led me to choose a different birthday outing. So check em out yourself if you want proof of his attitude. I'm sure I'll get a response on here. Most of the seats were filled so I'm assuming this guy doesn't think anything could be improved. 3 stars because my hubby liked the pizza and the performances were great. But i definitely won't return nor recommend.

Yelp
I was happy to find out about this comedy club in downtown Escondido. We need more comedy presence in North County. The Grand Comedy Club has a very laid-back atmosphere. The comedians were hilarious on the night I went. I had a super great time....lots of laughs and uncontrollable tears. Our waitress was very pleasant. They don't have the usual "two drink minimum" like other comedy places. It's a two ITEM minimum! We ordered refreshing palomal/strawberry margaritas, caesar salad and Hawaiian pizza that were all tasty. If you want to have a fun time with a bunch of laughs, Grand Comedy is the place to go to. I'll for sure be back for more laughs!!

Jeff M.

Yelp
Grand Comedy Club is a quaint venue that is definitely worth the visit. Here you can see budding and established comedians roast a myriad of life topics. Food is available primarily in the form of pizza from an adjacent pizzeria. The pizza is tasty and they have gluten free options. Adult beverages are also available. On the night we went, there were three local comics and the main act, Danny Jolles from LA. Overall a hillarious night. For a grand night of laughter, this is the place. NOTE: Grand Comedy Club is moving to the North County Mall in January 2025. Support you local comics.

Yelp
My husband and I had so much fun here during an Escondido date night! We didn't know much about the headliner and just walked in and bought tickets since the winery closed at 8 and the show started at 8:30. Would not do that again because the only tables left were only about a foot away from the stage. Thank goodness the comics didn't do audience work because I was NOT prepared for that. So definitely doing will call next time, especially with some bigger names coming through that will probably sell out. The space is very intimate and cozy, which lends itself to a more better comedic experience in my opinion since I think it makes the comics feel more comfortable and let loose a little more. The openers were hilarious, the main show wasn't really my style of comedy but enjoyable nonetheless. Love that the late show is at 8:30 perfect for us tired suburban parents. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
So much fun!!! And the owner is such a hard worker! It's so great to have this place here in Escondido! We always have a really great time here!

Yelp
Great comedy!! Every time we go, we have a fun time!! The comedians make you laugh out loud!! The people that you sit by are fun as well!

Yelp
Fabulous spot in escondido! Lovely space to sit outside for pre-show, affordable ticket prices! We had a blast seeing Ian Bagg.....soooooo funny, my new favorite comic; just brilliant!! Sad to hear that the landlord is making them move on (it's like they want escondido businesses to fail). Plan to follow this business wherever they end up to help support local comedy.

Yelp
Great pizza and love seeing top rate comedians in a local club. This is the place to go for fresh comedy!

Yelp
The new venue is a great space, better seating, expanded food and drink menu. They have a good draft selection along with wine and cocktails. And opening weekend had great comedians! Now that its a full time sports bar with a ton of TVs and ... More

Yelp
We had a great time at the Steph Tolev show and laughed our asses off! I was so stoked that we got sat right in front! Getting to meet her afterwards was the highlight of the night too!!! Tickets were very reasonably priced, free street parking and such a gem of a comedy club here in San Diego! Two things we thought this place could do for "room for improvement" is some better lighting on the stage for the comedians. It's a very small and intimate club which we loved but the lighting was very bland. Just an idea to maybe get some nicer lights for a warmer tone on the comedians faces? I think it would really make a difference in the experience for the audience, would look more professional and the comedians themselves will get better photos and footage of their sets for social media content. Another thing we noticed, just because Steph Tolev was nearly knocked over by an employee when heading to the stage is having a better walkway path for the comedians when being called up to the stage? Or just making sure an area is cleared for them and employees are in the know/aware of what's going on during the show. The owner of the club, Adam was super funny and very accommodating. Great email communication from him because there had been so many postponements with our show. On the day of the show we asked if we could move our tickets to the later show and he was very flexible about this. Staff was very nice and friendly as well! Looking forward to coming back to this club. I have a feeling this place is going to grow and will continue to get established comedians as well as up and coming names in the comedy world.
