Took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner last night. We had the best time. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful. And the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Amber, was fun, friendly, quick and supper attentive. We’ll definitely be back.

Used to really love the brunch here, but I was a bit disappointed on my most recent visit. We had a party of 11 for a friend’s birthday and our reservation was for 1:15pm and we didn’t get seated until 1:45pm. Parts of the buffet looked good and had been restocked with fresh items, but others weren’t refreshed the entire time we were there. Waffle station is always the best part. For $45 you hope for a bit more. Even though the food was just okay, our service was great and Neal took good care of us.

We went here for their Sunday brunch buffet. We made reservations but still had to wait for about 20mins. The restaurant was really busy. Noelle was the staff that took care of us. She’s nice and friendly. Also very attentive and observant. We didn’t have to ask for coffee or water refills. Food selection was good. There’s an omelette station, pasta station, a whole table of different salmon dishes, breakfast items, carving and salad area, waffles and bread area and desserts tables. There’s not much variety at the carving station - prime rib, ham, chicken. Also seafood is very limited to salmon and shrimp. The fresh homemade donuts were good though. The architecture inside was amazing. Great for photos and can also imagine for it to be great for events. Price for the buffet was $45 per adult. For me, this is a special occasion only restaurant but a good choice for Sunday brunch buffet. Definitely want to go back and try their lunch and dinner offerings.

Didn’t dine in—just wandered through to soak in the atmosphere and get a glimpse of the old-time train station charm. The architecture is full of history, and you can almost imagine travelers from decades ago bustling through with their suitcases. A quick stop, but worth it for the vintage vibes. ✨

Birthday Dinner was epic! I didn't know they had a great view of the river til we were seated, wow! I've only been inthe main dining room, so what a surprise! Everything was great, but the view really made our evening special.

Google
An early 1900s beautifully detailed and ornate train station was the setting for an absolutely perfect meal! Stand outs were the fried calamari and the carrot cake, easily the best I have ever had! Our server Staci was fantastic and guided us through the amazing menu as well as giving us history on the building. I highly recommend!

Google
Visiting from out of town and we happened across this beautiful building on father’s day. It was quite crowded, so we came back for a late dinner and were seated within 5 minutes. They were still serving the buffet. The service and atmosphere were the wonderful. The food was hot and good with a well rounded variety.

Google
Our experience here was wonderful. The restaurant is a repurposed old train station, and it is simply beautiful. The waiter was an older German man who was cheery and nice. We ordered seafood, in addition to appetizers and dessert, and found the food overall great.

Yelp
Not my first time here by any means but.. The service was the worst I've ever had here. The table wasn't 'set', there was no sugar, salt and pepper, knives After asking for salt, she took it from another table. So from then on, I just borrowed things from the empty table beside us. No coffee refills offered, long delay when we requested some. Had my teenage grands with me, the service was the first thing they told their parents about, not the experience. Disappointed as this was a celebration but it fell flat.

Yelp
Well our food was absolutely amazing, but what made this experience so great was our server Justin Fox. He was so great, attentive, joking around with us, making sure to double check with the kitchen when we had questions on the menu. Absolutely made a wonderful meal even better.

Yelp
Visiting for 36 hours for a Pirates game, J somehow missed this restaurant ( my husband is a huge train nut), and my friend recommended it as we were on the south side of the river. This repurposed Pittsburgh and Lake Erie train station is absolutely stunning. My photos do not do it justice. Can't say much about parking as we walked from the Duquesne Incline ( approximately 1 mile). We explored a bit before being seated ( anyone who knows me knows I love taking pics of interesting restrooms); even the original P&LE insignias are on the restroom door handles!!) Apparently there are several dining areas, and after we ate we saw several full tables in a large patio-like side area, overlooking the River. We were seated in the large concourse area, or specifically the head house of the former station. We were served warm sourdough bread and butter, had drinks and waited for our food. It was very quiet this particular Saturday ( we arrived around 12:30) and didn't get much busier. We had no reservations but I would most definitely recommend them for dinner and Sunday brunch which my friend said was quite popular. I ordered the seared scallops and risotto which was delicious, warm and contained several scallops. My husband enjoyed the Maryland style crab cake, and I had a bite and it was incredible! He said it was surprisingly good for being outside of Maryland ( where his family is from).Highly recommend both. My friend ordered the Sunburst salad, which was very large and looked amazing. Everyone finished their respective meals and there was no room for dessert. Unfortunately, our server, although nice, was not as attentive as she should have been, especially for a restaurant such as the Grand Concourse ( for this reason I've downgraded my review from a 5 to a 4). We had more drinks afterwards at the bar ( Gandy Dancers ; see separate review), and the bartender, Jacqueline, was professional, friendly and attentive). There is a lot of history on the walls : photographs, old news articles, and proclamations. We would definitely return.

Yelp
The atmosphere at this fine restaurant was luxurious with high ceilings and lots of wood used in the era. It was once a large rail station. The menu contained a continental cuisine with an array of special spices, marinated meats and seafood. The "sesame crusted ahi tuna" caught my eye and was sumptuous. Crab cakes and shrimp were chosen by others. Neil was our waiter and told stories about the Pittsburgh area and described the entries with clarity and humor! The service he provided was complete and timely! We will return soon on our next trip from Cleveland. Enjoy the Grand Concourse anytime and for special occasions!

Yelp
Fantastic Sunday Brunch!!! So much food! Beautiful presentation. Great flavor! Many options! It was cold inside of the restaurant which made us uncomfortable. We needed a warm beverage. Our server was attentive. Better than Fogo de Chao and a much better value.

Yelp
Stopped in for their Sunday brunch, do make a reservation and bring your patience with you, you'll NEED IT!!! Got there 15 minutes early, checked in and got seated around our reservation time. Things move slowly unfortunately, be it the lines, the service we got or trying to navigate around the people. Let's get to it. Food: nothing to write home about. My favorite was the freshly made donuts, outside of that, all others were just decent. I had high hopes for the prime rib, but it could be better. The ham was dried, and a lot of the sauces were out and weren't replenished. Salads looked like they had better days. Food Stations: Visit each food station to get an idea, if you want to try it or skip it, look at how many folks are in line, all the factors that's going to make you decide if you'll get the food or skip it. For me, I skipped the omelet station, as 10+ people were waiting just to place their order and a few waiting for their food. Service - nonexistent. We saw our server maybe 5 times, that includes asking for the bill, bill delivery and another time after the payment was processed. Depending on who you get as a server, it's night and day. Our server never explained anything to use, just asked if we wanted anything else other than water. I get it, it was super busy but at least try to show some effort. The place does have history, the interior was nice, and you get a lot of history. Worth visiting once, but just once

Yelp
We came here for a Sunday morning brunch. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the building. The carpets need a little love and the place needs dusted. There was glass broken on the floor by thr step up to our seat and I was in sandals so I had to be careful not to step on it. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I came back to give this place a second chance after not having such a great experience the last time. My opinion remains the same, it is not worth the price. We were some of the first people there for the breakfast buffet and the ham was so dry. Everything was cold and dry like it had been prepared a day or two before and then refrigerated, heated back up and put back out. It was not pleasant and I am sorry to say that I was just as disappointed as the last time.

Yelp
The place was dead and we had extremely slow service. The server was depressing. She recommended a seafood on a seashell appetizer that was completely terrible white slop. The salmon was bland. My crusted mahi was decent. The 3 thin asparagus spears as a side was very funny to see on the plate. Made me lol. Beautiful place, everything else about it is so bad. Maybe they will get new owners soon?

Yelp
Visited for the first time for the Sunday brunch buffet when family was in town. We made reservations and seating went smoothly. Service was slow and it seemed like other tables around us continued to have faster service. The staff were friendly though. As for the food, incredibly mediocre to downright bad. There were a few good things such as the craved turkey and ham, fresh donuts, and omelette station. Otherwise, it was glorified hotel breakfast quality. The churros and pretzels at the chocolate fountain were hard and stale. A lot of the food and desserts felt like they lacked any flavor. It is not worth the $45 price per person. Overpriced for what you get. The only redeeming thing is the building itself. It's beautiful and cool to see all the history it holds. Maybe regular lunch or dinner service is better than the Sunday brunch but we don't need to go back.

Yelp
Three hours. That's how long it took to our meal and then I still didn't get mine. 20 minutes later after the rest of the party had finished, I got my steak which was a nice cut but overcooked. I also ordered it with a vegetable substituted for potatoes but guess how it came? You got it with the potatoes instead of the vegetables. The place is a beautiful old railroad terminal. It was virtually empty except for our party. Certainly they should not have been overwhelmed but clearly where. I do not recommend and will not return unless it's just to look at the historical architecture. Eat elsewhere.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my family...what an intriguing old building and what they've done to the main station space to turn it into a dining space! Service was attentive and pleasant, but the food was more on the average side for what it was. Fresh bread came out to the table as we waited for our drinks to arrive, a basket of warm rolls and seeded crackers. We ordered a plate of calamari which came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. The squid was breaded and fried with a slight crunch, and not chewy at all. For a main dish, I ordered the parmesan crusted snapper topped with shrimp and served with rice and three small asparagus. Although flaky, the fish could have used a bit more sauce and the rice had very little of the coconut ginger flavor that was promised. Ambiance wise, this spot will blow you away, the food...not so much.

Yelp
I'd give the Grand Concourse 5 stars for the ambiance and experience, but only about 3 stars for the food. Some of the food was quite tasty, but some was fairly average to even below average (at one end, the salmon was quite tasty but on the other, the churros served at the chocolate fountain were unpalatable and extremely stale tasting). We sat in one of the side rooms but thankfully got a nice window seat and could look out toward the skyline. The best seats, albeit probably the loudest, would have been in the main hall with the grandest decor. There were many other side rooms that would definitely be less exciting spots to sit. It's just the luck of the draw. There is a LOT of variety at brunch, but the stations are spread out and some are located in areas you may not even realize they are. I'm glad our server chimed in with suggestions and let us know to explore one of the other rooms for homemade donuts and waffles. This is definitely a fun spot to get brunch with a unique experience. There is a variety of food that should suit just about everyone's tastes. That being said if you are looking for the best brunch food, you'd find better prepared dishes elsewhere.

Yelp
Attended my first Thanksgiving buffet with a friend. They certainly know what they are doing. Our reservation was at 3:30 and it was bustling. We were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation time and had a great table with a view of Station Square and the river. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. I got a mojito which was very refreshing. The serving stations were abundant from salads to rolls to a carving station to the regular buffet line to desserts to a pasta station. Items included turkey, prime rib, shrimp, freshly made pumpkin donuts, among all the rest. Our server checked on us without us feeling rushed. It was a very worthwhile experience in a classic architectural building. Oh, and they have valet parking. I wish I had known beforehand to have saved us a walk from the parking garage.

Yelp
A lovely spot for a Sunday brunch with an unbeatable view, inside and out! The architecture is incomparable to anything else you'll find in Pittsburgh. I'd recommend being the first reservation, it gets busy and fills up fast. I'd put my things down at the table, then grab your plates and enjoy your surroundings. As far as options go, they have a wide selection of sweet and savory falling under breakfast, lunch and dinner. As far as buffets go, it was pretty good! They had a nice balance of made to order versus plate and go. The one complaint I had was that nothing was labeled. It would be nice not to have to do detective work to figure out the options, but beyond that it's not great for anyone with a dietary restriction! My partner has a walnut allergy and another person in our group is vegetarian. It limited their experience, especially with the nut allergy and no labels on the desserts.

Yelp
Came here for a staff holiday lunch. They had one waitress handle a group of 20. They probably should've had one more waitress help, but perhaps they didn't have enough staff to do so. I had iced tea to drink and what they brought out look like light-sepia colored water. And it tasted like it too. Later in the meal between the time they served the entree and dessert, they brought us a refill, and the tea had actually had time to steep. I don't know why their tea wasn't done in time, but they never should've served us that tea. The dynamite snapper wasn't quite dynamite. It was OK and the crab meat was probably the best part of it. But again there was nothing dynamite about the fish. The sides were an uninspired and flavorless, mashed potatoes and green beans. The dessert look good, but I couldn't eat it because of my dairy intolerance. I brought it home from my girlfriend and she said it was good. A little disappointed in what used to be a really special place to have a meal.

Yelp
Venue is beautiful up to date decor. Entering the private room for our Mom's 90th birthday party we were met by Stacy. Stacy was snippy and unfriendly. Stacy lacked patience with our guests while taking orders. Stacy's demeanor and tone was negative. Stacy never smiled or gave a simple greeting. The appetizers were terrible. Egg rolls were nasty and lacked flavor. Chicken kebabs were horrible lacked flavor and the presentation was horrible. The crackers for the cheese and crackers were stale. The pink lemonade was toooo sweet. The steaks were rare although we requested medium well. Upon the party ending Stacy would always come to the table that myself and my siblings were taking decorations from instead of going to tables that were ready to be cleaned. Definitely DO NOT recommend and will never return!

Yelp
I had a VERY bad experience at Grand Concourse tonight. We made a reservation for 4:45pm, called to asked if we could push it back to 5:15pm. The hostess said yes, but didn't ask for any information. Thought that was odd so I asked, "do you need my name or anything?" And she explicitly responded "nope". I showed up, and they said they canceled my reservation.....HEH? We told them what happened over the phone, and one of the three hostesses looked at me, in the most "I don't care, what do you want me to do?" look. I know mistakes happen, and maybe I should have pushed harder to provide my information when changing the reservation. But I was very disappointed at their attitude and how unprofessionally they had handled the whole situation. Anyways, they had a booth seat available at the bar -- so we took the spot. Waited 30minutes for our waiter to come and take our order. 30 minutes. With just two glasses of water. No starter bread, didn't take our order, no silverware, nothing. We were told to wait twice in the 30 minutes of time. At this point. We were obviously frustrated. We were visiting from out of town, and it was our last night. The whole night felt ruined with a series of bad experiences. My husband was VERY upset at this point. Our reservation cancelled, restaurant acting like it was our fault, our server not serving us for half an hour. COME ON. What is going on?! He spoke to our server about how this entire experience at the Grand Concourse did not feel acceptable, a restaurant that we expected to have a certain level of attentiveness. Thankfully, he understood - and everything was fast from then on. We got the Schnitzel, a Prime Rib, two draft beers. Beers were good, prime rib was pretty great, and I would skip the schnitzel. The venue was beautiful. Train station themed which I thought was very cool. I really wish the management sees this and addresses this with their front staff.

Yelp
The food was amazing especially the filet mignon, that just melted in your mouth like butter. The building was just beautiful since it was built into an old train station. And the view of the river, was magnificent. The only thing that wasn't as up to par as rest would be the service. We were there for three hours after only ordering two menu items. I just don't find it fair that they're asking for 50 dollars a plate and then it take two hours for the food itself to come out.
google avatar

Johannah C.

Yelp
Blatantly dishonest, shady, and downright infuriating. The owner messaged us on Yelp claiming they'd follow up--we've heard absolutely nothing. My friend has called multiple times and been completely ignored. No response, no accountability, nothing. They secretly added a $40 tip to our bill without our knowledge or consent. That's not a mistake--that's theft. This place doesn't just have terrible service--they flat-out don't care and operate with zero integrity. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. I repeat, DO NOT DINE HERE!!!
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
Went for the breakfast buffet. Service was great, coffee was good but with small cups so we had to wait for refills. The food was, ok. My ham was so dry I couldn't eat it. The view from our seat of the river and city was beautiful.

Yelp
I was part of a group of about 30 people for a wedding dinner. We had about half of a room to ourselves, with a physical separation between us and the rest of the room. A choice of four entrees was offered. I picked the prime rib, a large slice, roasted medium and well seasoned on the outside. Included a skewer with two large shrimp and two fairly small scallops, also well roasted. Plate also included green beans, quite tasty, and mashed potato. First course was Martha's Vineyard Salad, surprisingly tasty odd greens with chunks of blue cheese, sweet red onion slices, and a lightly applied maple raspberry dressing that probably made the salad. But not only was the food good. For a large group meal the key is the service. They were fast and efficient, taking the individual entree orders and bringing the food with dispatch and accuracy, and coming by to remove used plates, refill water carafes, etc, with frequency. Very satisfying occasion. Fantastic view of the river and downtown from the windows of our well-appointed room, too, did I mention?

Yelp
Terrific hosting of our 24-person family get-together at this elegant venue! We had a wonderful event with delicious food and a perfect hostess! Right from the start, communication with their events team was always prompt, clear, and efficient. Price options were exact and reasonable. Room options and deadlines were clear. Their great event manager, Brian George, was friendly, available, and responsive. The restaurant is easy to find, just off E. Carson St. under the Smithfield Street Bridge, about a 500-ft walk from the Station Square station on the Silver, Red, and Blue lines. $12 Valet parking on the east side of the restaurant was quick and easy, and not much more costly than the $8-$10 self-parking about 0.2-miles up the street, and they would have discounted $8 off the self-parking fee for the event. The Grand Concourse is a truly majestic restaurant and bar, in a train station on the National Register of Historic Places built in 1901, where the patriarch of our family took the train to summer camp in his youth. Stained-glass ceilings, marble columns, ornate brass and dark-wood (mahogany?) decor with historic photos, and a long elegant photo-ready staircase up fromm the main dining concourse. We were in the spacious Board Room off the main concourse, slightly less ornate but still lovely. In addition to ample comfortable seating for all of us around a U-shaped table, they provided appetizers on a side-table and a large-screen TV for a slide-show we put together. The high ceiling didn't echo, and we all could hear each other, even while we played a self-made playlist. The kids danced a lot, and the most-fun guest danced with them! (Shout-out to you, Duncan :-) Staci, our event hostess, was excellent! She was ready when we came in the door, helpful in setting up our A/V, and always attentive with prompt friendly professional bar and food service. She and her staff made sure we were happy every moment, providing personal touches that made each of us feel welcome and valued. We'll ask for Staci when we return! Food was delicious, from a varied and generous charcuterie and hot flavorful chicken satay, to endless fresh breads, bright maple-vinaigrette salads, our selection of perfectly cooked tender moist bronzed salmon and blue-cheese-buttered sirloin, with roasted vegetable ravioli for our veggie guests. They made spaghetti for our 4 and 5-year olds. (Thank you Staci for that timely child-friendly offer!) Key lime pie was enjoyably tart and sweet and fresh-flavored. Several of us came back to the pleasant Gandy Dancer Saloon for the weekday 3:30 to 6:30pm happy hour (as of early Sep 2024). Nice selection of known brands and tasty well-drinks, tasty small plates (plus the full restaurant menu which we didnt indulge this time), friendly efficient service and well-crafted cocktails. Pro-tip: The bar stools have backs! There are some booths, too. Thank you Staci, Brian, talented kitchen and bar staff, and the beautiful Grand Concourse for a lovely memorable event for the whole family.

Yelp
We went to Sunday brunch for my great-grandmothers birthday, and it was delicious! The food was kept hot & fresh and stocked throughout the entirety of the morning. There's lots of different stations, and something for everybody! Sheri was our waitress and she made our experience even better.

Mary Catherine O.

Yelp
We had a dinner reservation for 5 PM on July 12, 2025 for my best friends birthday!! Beautiful place, for the most part everything else about it is so bad. This was my very first(and last)visit, but what an intriguing old building and what they've done to the main station space to turn it into a dining space! Too bad the service didn't live up to the expectations of the grand building. Fresh bread came out to the table as we waited for our drinks to arrive. The fresh bread was sourdough(wouldn't have been my choice to be honest), it was too hard to bite into and the sour taste was strong. We ordered salads to begin, my choice was the Iceberg Wedge Salad, pickled red onions, roasted grape tomatoes, herb oil, applewood smoked bacon, point reyes blue cheese, blue cheese dressing, everything spice cost $13. I thought this was fantastic! Others ordered the Sunburst Salad, a spring mix, mandarin oranges, point reyes blue cheese, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, watermelon radish, signature maple-raspberry vinaigrette cost $12. This was also a good choice. Two guests ordered the Classic Caesar, a house made dressing, parmesan, croutons, anchovy(without the anchovies) cost $12. They did not like it at all. For a main dish, I ordered the Filet Mignon, a maître d'butter, (medium well) cooked perfectly but the smashed redskins were cold as ice (asked for extra butter, but never received), asparagus (only 4 were on the plate and tasted like there was nothing added to season. cost 8oz $49. Not worth the cost in my eyes. Another main dish ordered was the Slow Roasted Prime Rib, with smashed redskins (were cold as well), au jus, horseradish sour cream. cost 10oz $36. No complaints other than cold potatoes. Another was the Smoked Mozzarella Ravioli(only 5 in total). with red pepper & smoked mozzarella, tomato cream sauce, shaved parmesan, basil chiffonade. Cost $22. (complaint was ONLY 5 ravioli's). Another was the Jumbo Shrimp Scampi, white wine garlic sauce, linguine, spinach, grape tomatoes, shaved parmesan. Cost $27. Another was the Cajun Chicken Tortellini, with blackened chicken, mushrooms, cilantro, grape tomatoes, cream sauce. Cost $23. Not one complaint. And last but not least...The Maryland Style Crab Cakes, with sweet corn emulsion, warm buttered crab, whole grain mustard sauce, sweet corn salad, coconut ginger rice(which was cold as well), and asparagus. Cost $48. They enjoyed the crab cakes but the rice was cold. Our dining experience would have been more tolerable if we had a server (her name was Stacy), that was not so depressing and slow. When I asked for a little more information she looked like she did not want to be bothered. It took so long to get our drinks all the times we ordered. It's like she didn't want to come to our table. So in conclusion this was a very big disappointment and we all made the best of it, but I guarantee you we will not be back!! Try to do better Stacy and Grand Concourse!!

Yelp
Still haven't heard back about the server ringing up my check wrong, from anyone other than the robo response on here. I'm starting to think they're sending my refund by carrier pigeon. Or maybe smoke signals? Who knows! At this point, I'll probably have to go back in person; because nothing says "excellent customer service" like a scavenger hunt to find someone who cares. Can't wait to awkwardly explain it all again while pretending this is totally normal. Cheers!

Yelp
Our recent family celebration at the Grand Concourse was marred by subpar service. Despite the delicious food, the evening began poorly with the table being set for the wrong number of guests. The server corrected the setting but failed to remove the extra chair, creating unnecessary congestion. Furthermore, one of our drinks was initially forgotten and had to be requested again. The service continued to falter when our main courses arrived shortly after our salads, despite a significant wait between ordering. This resulted in a cramped table and an unpleasant dining experience. To add insult to injury, my father was served the wrong meal - prime rib instead of the steak he ordered. Despite his insistence, the server initially insisted he had ordered the prime rib. After a lengthy wait, the correct steak arrived, but unfortunately, it was not cooked to his preference. While mistakes can happen, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of apology or acknowledgment from the server. At a restaurant of this caliber, we expect both excellent food and impeccable service. We were unable to speak with a manager during our meal, so I am posting this review in the hopes that this feedback can be used to improve the service at the Grand Concourse. At a restaurant we that is considered fine dining, you expect expectional service or at least acknowledgement of mistakes.

Yelp
Nice place. Building is old and historic. Food is terrible, service is worse. Everything is overpriced.

Yelp
The food, the service, the atmosphere was amazing during New Years Day !!! WhT a wonderful place for family and friends to gather during the holiday !!'n I loved the Martha's Vineyard Salad, and the applejack Sea Bass was excellent , I truly loved the key lime pie. The girls enjoyed the chicken fingers. The steak was prepared well. The bread was warm and delicious! This is a must bust restaurant located in station square, highly recommend !'

Yelp
Well came back as a request to see if a normal Sunday Brunch was going to make a difference. Food was much better than Mother's Day in the sense: replenished, hot, plentiful and was not appearing like the savages just took over. The donuts always great and the waffles were the lightest I have ever had. The Prime Rib yet again was a disappointment. Near rare and that was on an end cut. The crust was a bit salty and just lacked the flavor, since it was still out in the fields. The one photo you can see the beef in the lower right hand corner. I was not photographing a butcher shop. I was told that the chefs/cooks were working on doing better. Well first off, turn on the ovens and leave the meat in there until it reaches an internal temperature about 145. Complete lack of knowledge, or is it lack experience? I gave it a 4, as the other items were good (5 stars to omelet and pasta stations). I asked our server, Taylor (highly suggest requesting) how many Prime Ribs were taken back, since we had one at our table be sent back to the kitchen to be grilled and the table next to us had two sent back. Eight, and that was from one server. How is that efficient? Will I go back? Sure, possibly. Though I may stick to a sit down meal instead. Kudos to managers Colin and Taylor.

Yelp
I love this place including the happy hour. Beautiful and just a good use of a great landmark. Food and drinks are good. Brunch on weekends are decent.

Yelp
The service is above and beyond with food that will send your taste buds to a new galaxy. If you enjoy eating at fine dining establishments then this is a perfect place to visit. As a side note, this is a Landry's owned restaurant which is another perk. When you walk in you'll immediately feel and see the magnificent ambiance. This is a must go-to restaurant and enjoy a fine dining evening.

Yelp
I hope my account exists just to boost this place. Best steakhouse in dt Pitt and it's not close. They do everything well and some things exceptionally. Highly recommend eating steak of any variety. Cocktails don't miss either. Service is always professional and the views are truly hard to top.

Yelp
Although most of my table enjoyed our food, it took nearly 45 minutes to get... Not only this, but one individual at my table ordered a steak salad, only to find four measly chunks of steak in the entire thing... our server was understanding and apologetic, but unfortunately, when my table mate was told half of the cost would be comped, that wasn't the case... The rest of us enjoyed our meals, but the service was definitely a letdown. Beautiful building, but service and quality control need to be monitored

Yelp
I'm very disappointed in the level of customer service that I received. I have a medical procedure that prohibits my eating. I called this establishment to ask it they would make an accommodation for me so that I would not miss my friends' birthday party. The first young lady did not seem to understand what I was asking; I asked to speak with a manager, held for 10 minutes and disconnected the call. I have now called four times; because calls 2 and 3 were "put on hold". But were actually hung up. Hold time now is now 20 minutes. All I wanted was to ask a question. Now it's just the principal of the matter. This is a iconic establishment in the Pittsburgh area. And I'm so disappointed that they have little to no respect for their patrons.

Yelp
We had a reservation here for Sunday brunch and it took about 20 minutes after the reservation to be seated so that was disappointing. However, our waitress was attentive though for how busy it was. The overall Sunday Brunch selection was decent. There was a bunch of hot breakfast selections, a few meat stations, a delicious pasta station, a chocolate fountain and other desserts. The food was pretty average, I thought that the pasta station was the highlight. The space itself is really beautiful and we sat towards the back with views of the river, bridges and city. One thing I would recommend would to be to have labels at the dessert station. There were a bunch of items on one table that didn't specify what was what/any allergies.

Yelp
I brought a group of people in for brunch on Sunday and told them how amazing the place is... Well we arrived and barely had our first plate of food when I assume a chef? (He had a chef uniform on and was bald) Started just screaming at the employees like he was unhinged or something, it was honestly very scary. My guests were horrified and wanted to leave immediately because they felt so bad for the staff. The server we had was amazing for the short time we were there, I hope she finds a job where she is treated well. I was so embarrassed to have brought people there, I'll never make that mistake again

Yelp
Have been going to The Grand Concourse Since Chuck Muir owned it!! Love the Brunch!! The ambiance is timeless.

Yelp
I have visited this location in Pgh a few times in the past year for special occasions. From the service, to the management, to the food & the cleanliness, this place is nothing short of exceptional. During my last visit for Sunday brunch, the place was packed & the manager Taylor D really kept everything in order. My reservation was for 1030 & she got my party sat right away. Her smile & friendliness really made my day because I have been to plenty of restaurants where it almost feels like customers are an inconvenience. My last experience was so great that I decided to book again this Sunday for my birthday!!! 10/10

Yelp
The Grand Concourse restaurant opened in 1978, and it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner for dining in, pick-up, and delivery. The restaurant is located in the former Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Station that was built in 1901 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building has beautiful cathedral stained-glass vaulted ceilings, marble columns, and a grand staircase. The buffet brunch on Sunday costs $42 per adult and includes foods such as fruits, salads, potatoes, bagels, donuts, pecan rolls, apple strudels, waffles, French-toast sticks, biscuits and gravy, pastas, cheeses, scrambled eggs, omelettes, bacon, sausage, chicken tenders, smoked salmon, cocktail shrimp, mussels, prime rib, a chocolate fountain, etcetera. The menus for lunch and dinner list foods such as salads, clam chowder, ahi tuna poke, calamari, oysters, scallops, crab cakes, lobster, Alaskan king crab legs, snapper, salmon, sea bass, mahi mahi, duck, filet mignon, etcetera. For many years, my husband and I have eaten meals here. For our most recent visit, we ate the Sunday buffet brunch. After we checked in with the seating hostess, many other groups of customers arrived. We felt thankful that we were toward the beginning of the line so we did not have to wait long. My husband and I each filled up a few plates of food from the breakfast buffet. We really enjoyed the flavors of everything that we ate. The best aspect of this buffet is the very large and varied selection of foods. (If you look at my previous reviews, you will see that 8 years ago, I rated this breakfast buffet as 3 stars. Clearly, the employees have improved their performance since then.) During our meal, our waitress brought us a second bottle of water. At the end of the meal, she promptly brought us our check, took our payment, and thanked us. Note: Customers may use either valet parking or self-parking at a nearby garage.

Yelp
I must say, I was quite disappointed at the brunch today. Been here many times over the years, but our last visit was probably half a year back (traveling, trying other options, etc). Our reservation was at noon, and we arrived and checked in ten minutes early. We were finally seated at 20 after 12. It took the server another 10 minutes to show up. The breakfast station was poorly attended, the food...blah unkept...the first coffee served was hardly warm, the server far more unseen than attentive. Quite frankly, I don't see any value in the brunch and I wonder if they've started gliding on their long-standing reputation than current merit (or lack thereof). It used to be great, but if today was any indication it may have sequed to "Let's cram in as many people as we can (and for goodness sake, this isn't Walmart people...they need a dress standard here!), not have enough staff to keep up with them, and still charge a premium because we seem to be getting away with it!" Some decent desserts...so there's that. And my second and third coffee was warmer, as I asked the server to make sure it was. I think we may be done here.

Yelp
Since I was here 20 years ago, the place has gone downhill. It seems old and worn out. The food was ordinary and some overcooked. The service was excellent. Our server was cheerful and the best part of the experience. I had clam chowder that had an unusual almost smoky taste. The Caesar's salad was good. Right amount of dressing and anchovies. My wife had coconut shrimp that was overcooked and dry. I had pasta with shrimp and artichokes. There were 4 shrimp but a lot of artichokes. The sauce was watery and a lot ended up at the bottom of the dish. The portions were adequate and the prices were fair. They didn't have valet parking on Monday and parking was on the next block. In summary, better to walk through the place and look at it's former grandeur, but go eat somewhere else. Sorry to report.

Yelp
Went for Sunday Brunch buffet. Reservations were for6 ppl at 1 pm. We got there at 12:45, sat us exactly at 1. The last time I had brunch here was 5 years ago. I will say they're very consistent with the quality and taste of food. So many options to choose. Waffle station, omelette station, pasta station, and donut station, kids station and dessert station. Also had plenty other options such as salmon Rockefeller, scrambled eggs, many breakfast meats, different potatoes and backed chicken and green beans. There's also a carving station, where the prime rib was delish. There's so many other options I didn't even mention. It's $45pp. However worth every bit of it. I will always recommend brunch here. I also recommend making reservations. You can attempt a walk in however I wouldn't try it. The building its self is beautiful. They do offer valet, but there's also a parking lot that's 2 min walking distance. For 2 hours I paid $8.

Yelp
I've had their Sunday brunch before and it's amazing, only I didn't realize it was a buffet as was my first time and so - ensure to go hungry if brunch. This was my second visit with this time being the fall menu. I had family in town, set a reservation online and added in the comments requesting table by window and they made sure to do so as well as photos. The seafood here is soooooo fresh, I've found so few restaurants have fresh tasting and cooked just right, was to die for. Service was good and we had a lovely time!

Yelp
Booked a reservation for lunch on a Saturday, however wouldn't say one was needed! I was surprised the restaurant was not crowded on a weekend, however it was a freezing cold day. Started with the Blood Orange & Sage mocktail ($5.50) and it was delicious! I love with menus offer non-alcoholic drinks, especially at great prices. The table started with 2 types of seafood soup: Charlie's chowder (red Mediterranean fish stew) and New England Clam Chowder (classic white chowder). The Charlie's chowder had a bit of a kick, but both were favorites at the table! I got the Bronzed Salmon as my main, and it was cooked perfectly! The dry rub combination with the mango salsa was fresh and delicious, and I was thrilled to see the seasonable vegetable was broccolini. There is valet parking for $13, or a parking lot nearby that is first 2 hours free, then $6 for the next hour.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. I have fond memories of my mother taking me here for a special treat when I was a child. The place is simply gorgeous, whether you sit in the main dining area of the old train station or you sit in the side room with an incredible view of the city. It's a great place to take visitors to show off our city. I had high hopes and I was very optimistic as we dug into our calamari appetizer. It did not disappoint. The calamari was nice and tender and the Napa slaw was a really nice touch. Their bread is always tasty. They used to serve a fresh garlic roll which I remember from my youth but they have since changed to a sourdough, which was almost as good. Next I got the Martha's Vineyard salad, another classic from their menu of years past. Just as I remembered. Unfortunately, that's where the wheels fell off a bit. Not more than 30 seconds after they served me my salad, they gave us our main course. That's a pet peeve of mine and something I'd expect at a local diner, not the Grand Concourse. Maybe they should have held our dinners a little longer because my daughter's smoked mozzarella ravioli was delivered ice cold in the middle. They were very likely frozen and reheated. So now we have me, trying to scarf down my salad so my main course doesn't get cold, my one daughter nibbling on her Cajun chicken tortellini, trying to stretch her meal while my other daughter waits for the kitchen to reheat her meal. I suppose we could have lived with that little juggling act if the meals were good, but unfortunately they were mediocre at best. I got the shrimp and crab bucatini. The noodle came with a red pepper cream sauce - the same exact sauce as my daughter's ravioli. Then they added some spinach, a few whole tomatoes and slapped a dollop of crab on top. Then they put deep fried shrimp on top of everything, completely separate from the pasta. It just made no sense. Nothing went together. And to use the same sauce as another dish? Humor us and at least make some sort of effort to conceal that fact. The other dishes were equally average. My own homemade Cajun chicken pasta recipe is better than what my daughter got and costs a whole lot less. To cap off the evening, while we were eating our main course, the waitress asked if we wanted more bread to which we replied "yes". Fifteen minutes later, after we were done with our meals and ready for the check, the bread was delivered to us. It was just that kind of night.

Yelp
Great building with a rich history as a former railroad station. The attached saloon (The Gandy Dancer) has a happy hour, which was a pretty good deal! The food was the star of the happy hour. The happy hour drinks were just meh. I had the margarita and the sparkling sangria ( (both $7). Not impressed. The seafood roll ($15) was pretty good, it was a decent size and had enough seafood- lobster, shrimp and crab. It needed a little more seasoning! My friends enjoyed the roll, as well as the crabcake sliders. We also had dinner that same week in the riverfront dining room. It overlooks the city and is a fantastic view! I had the crab crusted mahi mahi ($35), which was a great choice and very filling! I also tried the goat cheese appetizer, which was yummy. I had wine by the glass with dinner, which was around $12 a glass. Service was pretty good, we did wait quite a while for some items to be delivered when it got busy in the dining room.

Yelp
First off, this place is stunning. I love the details and the historical touches. We started with the almond crusted baked Brie. Greta taste with the topping on the cheese. Loved it. I ordered the scallops with dynamite topping and hubby ordered the mahi mahi with the dynamite topping. Both our entrees were excellent. Sides were just ok but how great can you really make mashed potatoes and asparagus. Dessert we shared the bananas foster crème brûlée. It definitely was a unique taste, while I didn't love it, I also didn't hate it. Service was a little slow but we were in no rush.

Yelp
Wow, where do I even begin? We got to the Grand Concourse around 3:00 in the afternoon--hardly peak time--and still had to wait 45 minutes to get a table with a reservation. I had my pregnant sister-in-law and a toddler with me, so sitting around that long wasn't exactly ideal. Once we were finally seated, it took another 20 minutes just to get some water. Twenty. Minutes. The service was super slow and the staff seemed like they couldn't care less. On top of that, they were already out of kids' mac and cheese and meatballs. At 3 PM. Seriously? When the food eventually showed up, it was cold and looked like it had been sitting out for way too long. Honestly, I'm not sure if they're overwhelmed or just phoning it in, but either way, I won't be back. Total disappointment. Not worth the time or money to me! Colin the GM has a lot of work to do!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this restaurant with "Grand" in its name. I was here for dinner and the Sunday brunch. Dinner: waitress forgot to put in a big appetizer so half the table ate while the other half had to watch. When the main dishes arrived the servers just tossed the plates at us. The food was OK, not great. The osso buco was under seasoned and tough. It was presented in an unpleasing to the eye. Sea bass was good, so was the bread. Brunch: Roast beef was perfect if you timed it right. It could be medium rare, or well done. They had overcooked peal and eat shrimp, pasta salads, smoked salmon, fried chicken. Freshly made omelets, the veggie one was too runny. The green clam pasta sauce was runny too, salty and very garlicky. The freshly made donuts is a pass too. Service was attentive, and they earned their tip. Overall it was expensive $45/person and you have to force yourself to over eat to make it worthwhile.
