My husband and I went to the Grand Concourse for Valentine’s Day and could not have been more happy with our meal and server! Understandably, it was a busy holiday, so we waited at the bar for an extra 30 minutes past our scheduled reservation. During that time I had a delicious espresso martini and my husband had a beer. Once we were seated our server took excellent care of us and ensured we got our food quickly given our extra wait. We had the raw oysters, Cajun chicken tortellini, and the slow roasted prime rib. All of our food was DELICIOUS and we felt so full with the portion sizes that we had to take home leftovers. Not to mention the nostalgic environment of the old train station! So beautiful. While a bit pricy, I would say it is worth the price you pay. Overall, we had a great experience at the Grand Concourse, and would go back.

Went here for a dinner with my girlfriend and her friend on a Saturday night, this was a very very disappointing experience. Our waitress was very rude, untimely, and overall terrible. It took her 25 minutes to revisit us, and everytime we ordered a drink, appetizer, or bread it was minimal 25 minutes until she came back. She never apologized with how slow it was, and to make matters worse, they were out of prime rib on a Saturday night at 6 pm, and also wine choices as well. The food was average at best. I won’t be back due to the quality of what you get and the price that you pay. Service was poor. Food and drinks took forever to come out. Had a reservation and it took them 30 mins to sit us after our schedule time. Won’t be back. Seems as they rely on the atmosphere for traffic.

Google
Absolutely delightful dining experience. The whole concept of a restaurant in an old train station is incredibly unique and makes for a visually extravagant vibe that keeps you enticed with its architecture. On top of the awesome atmosphere, the food is simply spectacular. I highly recommend the crab cakes, or any of their seafood options as they are incredibly fresh and well prepared. Nothing let me down and i was happy with the price to portion ratio. Great place to have dinner in the Pitt area.

Delicious food! From the bread to the dessert and everything in between! Drink were delicious! The atmosphere feels like walking into the early 1900's! I highly recommend!

An interesting mix of experiences in one - incredibly beautiful location and best lobster bisque + bread rolls I’ve ever had. The service was friendly but I hate to say “amateur.” Reservation for 7:45, weren’t taken until closer to 8, things happen and not too big of a deal. Waiter took our drink orders (and appeared to write them down), came back 10 minutes later apologizing saying he forgot what our orders were. My drink (the mocktail “Desert Rose”) took 15+ minutes to get because they couldn’t find the right kind of glass I guess? Didn’t look anything like it did on the menu and didn’t taste anything like you would expect it to based on the destruction. They were gracious and replaced my drink for me with something else. We both ordered the filet mignon and lobster - the steak knives and butter were not brought out with them and arrived several minutes later. The filet mignon tasted more like an average steak, not a filet mignon, and the lobster was tough/chewy. The potatoes it came with were okay at best. Also since it’s a wedding venue - the music is SO LOUD it feels like you are at the wedding! They should soundproof that area, you can barely hear the person you’re next to at times. Absolutely stunning building, but overall disappointing for the price to not match the quality of the food and service.

Google
This place was absolutely phenomenal. To start they had balet, which charged us $15 to park. The gentlemen were friendly and wasy to work with. There was a wedding happening the night we went so the main area indoors was off limits but the place is big. We sat riverside by the window. It gives a beautiful view of the city and the water. If youre lucky youll see the gateway clipper! The staff was wonderful. We had a waitress in training and a gentleman serving us. They were so helpful and informative. The food was wonderful. I am a picky eater and absolutely loved the salmon sautéed. The asparagus was ok but the mash potatoes were wonderful. The bread they give wt the beginning was so so so good, im still thinking about it. They also include crackers in the bread basket, I wasnt thrilled about those Our drinks were great too. Took a little to come out due to the bar being backed up, but it was well worth the wait. A phenomenal restaurant to go to for an anniversary, i highly highly recommend

Google
Evelyn, our server, saved the day! We made reservations for a birthday dinner in the main dining room, only to arrive to find out it was closed because there was a wedding booked. The room we were seated in instead, was still pretty with a view of the river, BUT it wasn’t what we were expecting, and there was no mention of the main dining room being closed, thus the 4 for the review because I think they could have done better with communication about that. Otherwise, Evelyn was friendly, funny, and helped us forget about the inconvenience, and the food and cocktails were fantastic. We will go back as a result of still having a great experience, but we will be making sure proactively that there aren’t any events in the main dining room before we book next time.

Google
They seated us 45 minutes behind our 1pm reservation time, then after being seated we head to the buffet to finally eat and all the trays were empty. We told our waitress but they never refilled them. This was hands down the WORST experience I've had here. Very expensive, for absolutely no food.

Gage E.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal, service was great. You get what you pay for. Was in and out in a timely manner.

Jeanette T.

Yelp
Sous chef Phil was absolutely amazing. One of our members had very limited mobility. Instead of her going through the buffet lines, Phil put together a beautiful and delicious plate for her. He went above and beyond. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
This way my first experience at the Grand Concourse. My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays. We have a great time. It is quite loud in the restaurant but not overwhelming. They had things so nicely decorated for Christmas time. Including a great big tree for pictures. Our food was delicious. I ordered the blackened chicken tortellini. Such a good taste to it! Service was good but we both kept saying how our waitress kept leaning over the table. Not a big deal but definitely expected different from such a nice restaurant. The food. Is pricey so not sure when I will make it back but based on the food I would definitely come back.

Yelp
My family and I were visiting from Washington, D.C. and wanted a restaurant with great views, old-world atmosphere, and historical significance. After a last-minute search, we chose the Grand Concourse. While it checks those boxes on paper, the actual experience was deeply disappointing. Service was poor from the start. Our waiter was impatient and told us to "hurry up and order," even though we had already placed our food order moments earlier. Basic attentiveness was missing. I had to point out that our table did not even have a water glass. When the food arrived, it was fine but completely forgettable. Nothing special or memorable. That changed quickly when I found a red produce rubber band on my plate. I joked to my wife, "I wonder which part of the fish this is," before trying to get our server's attention. Despite being seated in a very busy area of the restaurant, it took a long time for anyone to come by. The server replaced the dish and offered an apology that felt more obligatory than sincere. He even told me to "double check it for rubber bands" when the replacement arrived, which did little to inspire confidence. He said a manager would come to the table. No one did. Instead, I was repeatedly told, in front of my guests, that I had been given a "huge discount," allegedly sixty to seventy dollars. This was uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially since the issue was still not resolved. When the check arrived, the wrong dish had been removed and I was still being charged for both plates. I eventually had to call a manager through another server. When he arrived, he seemed resigned, as though this was not an unusual situation. He apologized and ultimately comped my plate, but the entire experience left us drained and exhausted. For a restaurant that is often described as a "must see" destination, the Grand Concourse fell far short. The space is beautiful and historic, but that alone cannot make up for inattentive service, avoidable mistakes, and an overall lack of hospitality.

Yelp
Nope. Done. Not coming back - ever. My daughter wanted to give it one more try, so we did. Bad decision. Clearly they are, by my reckoning, just willy nilly taking far too many reservations for their capacity. It was over a half an hour after our 12:15 reservation before being called and seated. The overworked server was nice, but simply couldn't keep up with her table responsibilities, and that's pretty bad for a buffet style setting. Our table was improperly set, and it was a long wait for drinks or refills. Saw empty food trays on the line. Simply too many people. The food was okay, but just that. Sad to see what has become of what used to be a great spot for brunch. It was a mistake coming to this place again, and we all agreed (6 in our party) that it wasn't one we'll repeat.

Yelp
I decided to try this place again for Christmas. I really shouldn't have. It took 45 minutes past our reservation to get seated and then another 15 to flag someone down for a drink order. When we finally got the buffet, everything was old and crusty. What wasn't old and crusty, they were out of completely. They silently raised buffet prices and didn't alert anyone. This is honestly the worst dining experience that we have ever had. It makes it worse that it was on Christmas. I will not be giving this business another chance. The Wynn buffet is actually cheaper than this buffet, so it is insane to think about for this quality of "food" and horrible service. The place was also dirty and had toilet paper on the floor where the chocolate fountain used to be. Oh yes, they removed the chocolate fountain but still raised prices. The manager was nice and tried to help as much as he was able to.

Yelp
Great experiment for brunch around Christmas time! Food was fresh and stations a very clean. Plenty of options, and well stocked with busy it was. Will be back again for the holidays next year!

Yelp
We came to the Grand Concourse as a Holiday gathering with my entire family. There were 15 of us total. We did the Sunday buffet. The food was really good for a buffet and it was cool that it was spread out around the entirety of the restaurant. The following stations could be found Sushi Waffle Pasta Carving Seafood Breakfast And several other choice offerings The atmosphere is amazing and is a centerpiece of Station Square. The theme is an old time train station. I think it was very beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Yelp
Grand Concourse Restaurant in Pittsburgh, PA has got to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in America. The restaurant was previously a railroad station built in 1901. The inside of the building has original Victorian and Edwardian style architecture and design. In 1974, this beautiful building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The first time we tried this restaurant was 15 years ago for their AMAZING Sunday brunch which I highly recommend. Today we had a fantastic early dinner and recommend the following: *New York Strip steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. *Surf and Turf with Lobster, mashed potatoes and asparagus. We added shrimp scampi. Our complementary bread with salmon pâté was delicious. For dessert we had the banana creme brûlée and key lime pie. Everything was outstanding 5/5 stars!! We had excellent service with very friendly and attentive staff. There's indoor and outdoor seating with beautiful views of the city of Pittsburgh and Monongahela River. You can see the Steelers Stadium from a distance. We recommend trying this restaurant when in the area. Heard it's very popular for weddings and graduation parties. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Yelp
This place has seriously declined. It is no longer worth paying the 60 dollars per person for any holiday buffet. Did I say 60? They raised it to 72! We had reservations for 530, waited for over 45 minutes past the reservation to be sat. Once at the table, we sat for another 15 minutes before deciding to get up without putting in for drinks because the waitress didnt show up. We had to flag down the hostess just to get waters. The food quality is not that great either. All of the utensils were gross, food was dry and mostly inedible. I seriously try to give places the benefit of the doubt but this is just sad. This is my 4th buffet here and most definitely my last. Honestly, I'm so disappointed that I even have to pay for this. It's Christmas day, and I'm leaving hungry, at a 72 dollar a person buffet. What does that tell you? There used to be a chocolate fountain, this year it's an empty spot with toilet paper on the floor. Not even joking. I can't even say its worth it for the ambiance or the view, you can walk outside and see the city and not be sad that you spent money to be sad.

Yelp
Brought a group of 12 in for a work dinner, which everyone enjoyed and several locals commented that they would be back. The space is absolutely beautiful. The butternut squash soup was delicious - I wish I'd ordered a bowl instead of a cup. I had the jumbo shrimp scampi, which was also fantastic. The shrimp tasted so fresh and there was way more food than I could eat. Service was good, but with a group you need to devote a bit of time to your meal.

Yelp
First time at the Grand Concourse. Stopped in for Sunday brunch. Service was great, (Jennifer was amazing!) and the food was even better. I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy, prime rib, and the fresh waffles topped with banana fosters. The cinnamon rolls were one of my favorites as well. Plenty of different food items to choose from. Something for everyone. Nice spot, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Beautiful & iconic Pittsburgh restaurant in the old train station - especially decorated for Christmas. I was there on a business trip recently & we ate here with a group of about 16 colleagues. We confirmed in advance that they would be able to accommodate a vegan option despite there being no vegan options on the menu. Our server knew I was there when we arrived & came to talk to me about options. She then had the chef come out to confirm and he was really nice. I ended up having a salad (which was so huge I couldn't finish it) as an app. My entree was rice in a tomato sauce with veggies and it was so delicious!! I then had a glass of port for dessert which came in a larger glass than I was expecting and it was quite a full pour for a glass of port (couldn't finish that either) so maybe they're just generous. I was really impressed and would definitely come back here & would highly recommend it.

Yelp
An early birthday lunch with my girlfriend, my brother and his wife. My sister in law has been here many times before and suggested we come here for birthday lunch and she was not wrong. Service was outstanding, attentive, and they made Me a little something extra for birthday. The smoked Manhattan is made table side is a very nice touch. The meal was delicious, perfect ending to my birthday weekend.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful inside and the food was delicious. The lobster bisque was perfection and the king crab legs were remarkable. Paired with a glass of Caymus this meal was elite.

Yelp
We went to Grand Concourse to celebrate our friend's 40th birthday and it was a blast! The place is gorgeous! Beautiful bar and seating area, they also have a coat check in which is nice during the winter months. We were seated at the back where we had a nice view of the city, but if you're going there during the colder months bring a sweater. There was a bit of a draft there and could feel cool air. The service was fantastic, our server, Herb was personable, attentive, hilarious, and professional. He took very good care of our table! They bring out a bread basket that comes with regular butter and salmon butter. That salmon butter was delicious! We ordered the spicy tuna roll, calamari, and lobster bisque. All of it was delicious! Calamari was cooked perfectly and the spicy tuna had jalapeños on top which added to the spiciness. I ordered the ultimate seafood mixed trio which had grilled salmon, crab cake, and coconut shrimp with coconut ginger rice and vegetables. The coconut was subtle, which was perfect for me, and all the seafood on my plate was perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife ordered the cedar plank salmon and enjoyed her meal as well. We had a blast at Grand Concourse and it is the perfect spot to celebrate with family and friends! I highly recommend visiting Grand Concourse!

Yelp
First time here! Came on a Monday night not packed at all, quiet with beautiful views! The staff was beyond incredible and so polite! Start from the beginning, we're served a basket of homemade garlic rolls and sesame crackers with salmon spread which was exceptional! asked for another basket was so good! Then got the starter appetizer of the crispy calamari! Best I've ever had in my life! The portion was so huge it was made with a sweet chili sauce I could have had that alone! Then our dinner came, husband ordered king grab which was massive I got the salmon with coconut ginger rice it was so tender and delicious!! We were stuffed! Without asking our wonderful waitress brought us out a crème Brulé that said "Happy Anniversary" with a card signed by the whole staff!! It was so thoughtful and beautiful! They truly went above and beyond! Would absolutely love to come back! It's truly magical there this time of year, the holiday setting, the views the food! Just wow!! Thank you!!

Yelp
Stopped in for their Sunday brunch, do make a reservation and bring your patience with you, you'll NEED IT!!! Got there 15 minutes early, checked in and got seated around our reservation time. Things move slowly unfortunately, be it the lines, the service we got or trying to navigate around the people. Let's get to it. Food: nothing to write home about. My favorite was the freshly made donuts, outside of that, all others were just decent. I had high hopes for the prime rib, but it could be better. The ham was dried, and a lot of the sauces were out and weren't replenished. Salads looked like they had better days. Food Stations: Visit each food station to get an idea, if you want to try it or skip it, look at how many folks are in line, all the factors that's going to make you decide if you'll get the food or skip it. For me, I skipped the omelet station, as 10+ people were waiting just to place their order and a few waiting for their food. Service - nonexistent. We saw our server maybe 5 times, that includes asking for the bill, bill delivery and another time after the payment was processed. Depending on who you get as a server, it's night and day. Our server never explained anything to use, just asked if we wanted anything else other than water. I get it, it was super busy but at least try to show some effort. The place does have history, the interior was nice, and you get a lot of history. Worth visiting once, but just once
google avatar

Dimitri G.

Yelp
Nice interior ambiance is where the experience starts and unfortunately ends. Incredibly slow service, disappointing food, mismatched prices, would not recommend visiting other than for basic drinks and dessert. Do not order oysters, lobster bisque or apple crusted brie. Borderline gross, inedible. The main course never came, how is it even possible for a restaurant that claims to be the spot for the seafood to take 3 orders of sea scallops and then come back with "oops, we're out of scallops" after a long wait?
google avatar

Brendan H.

Yelp
The place was dead and we had extremely slow service. The server was depressing. She recommended a seafood on a seashell appetizer that was completely terrible white slop. The salmon was bland. My crusted mahi was decent. The 3 thin asparagus spears as a side was very funny to see on the plate. Made me lol. Beautiful place, everything else about it is so bad. Maybe they will get new owners soon?

Yelp
Returned here the other day, excited to be back in this beautiful venue, but chose the River Room which overlooks the River. Hate to say this historic site should have been a 5 star review but once again the service was lacking. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes for our server to appear at our table, and even had a lengthy conversation with the other server, Marsha, who took our drink order... Once our server did appear ( only know her name from the receipt), she was friendly but not as attentive as we would expect at a restaurant such as this. She was aware it was a special occasion, gave us our check, told us that a special dessert was being prepared, and didn't return to the table after dropping off a creme brûlée. Was not planning on spending 90 minutes for lunch, and it's beyond irritating watching other tables who were seated after us leave before us, including a large party of 8 or 9 right next to us... That said, good again was outstanding. Crab cake ( app this time) was delicious, Charley's seafood chowder tasty and full of seafood, and the Sunburst salad ( with chicken) yummy-- love the bleu cheese, mandarin oranges and cranberry flavors. We don't live in Pittsburgh so it's not like we come often, but very disappointed again.
google avatar

Evan F.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my family...what an intriguing old building and what they've done to the main station space to turn it into a dining space! Service was attentive and pleasant, but the food was more on the average side for what it was. Fresh bread came out to the table as we waited for our drinks to arrive, a basket of warm rolls and seeded crackers. We ordered a plate of calamari which came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. The squid was breaded and fried with a slight crunch, and not chewy at all. For a main dish, I ordered the parmesan crusted snapper topped with shrimp and served with rice and three small asparagus. Although flaky, the fish could have used a bit more sauce and the rice had very little of the coconut ginger flavor that was promised. Ambiance wise, this spot will blow you away, the food...not so much.
google avatar

Victoria K.

Yelp
I'd give the Grand Concourse 5 stars for the ambiance and experience, but only about 3 stars for the food. Some of the food was quite tasty, but some was fairly average to even below average (at one end, the salmon was quite tasty but on the other, the churros served at the chocolate fountain were unpalatable and extremely stale tasting). We sat in one of the side rooms but thankfully got a nice window seat and could look out toward the skyline. The best seats, albeit probably the loudest, would have been in the main hall with the grandest decor. There were many other side rooms that would definitely be less exciting spots to sit. It's just the luck of the draw. There is a LOT of variety at brunch, but the stations are spread out and some are located in areas you may not even realize they are. I'm glad our server chimed in with suggestions and let us know to explore one of the other rooms for homemade donuts and waffles. This is definitely a fun spot to get brunch with a unique experience. There is a variety of food that should suit just about everyone's tastes. That being said if you are looking for the best brunch food, you'd find better prepared dishes elsewhere.

Yelp
Attended my first Thanksgiving buffet with a friend. They certainly know what they are doing. Our reservation was at 3:30 and it was bustling. We were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation time and had a great table with a view of Station Square and the river. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. I got a mojito which was very refreshing. The serving stations were abundant from salads to rolls to a carving station to the regular buffet line to desserts to a pasta station. Items included turkey, prime rib, shrimp, freshly made pumpkin donuts, among all the rest. Our server checked on us without us feeling rushed. It was a very worthwhile experience in a classic architectural building. Oh, and they have valet parking. I wish I had known beforehand to have saved us a walk from the parking garage.
google avatar

Tabitha W.

Yelp
A lovely spot for a Sunday brunch with an unbeatable view, inside and out! The architecture is incomparable to anything else you'll find in Pittsburgh. I'd recommend being the first reservation, it gets busy and fills up fast. I'd put my things down at the table, then grab your plates and enjoy your surroundings. As far as options go, they have a wide selection of sweet and savory falling under breakfast, lunch and dinner. As far as buffets go, it was pretty good! They had a nice balance of made to order versus plate and go. The one complaint I had was that nothing was labeled. It would be nice not to have to do detective work to figure out the options, but beyond that it's not great for anyone with a dietary restriction! My partner has a walnut allergy and another person in our group is vegetarian. It limited their experience, especially with the nut allergy and no labels on the desserts.

Kelly B.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and it was stunning on the inside. The staff were very attentive and friendly. And the food was amazing. My medium steak was actually medium which never happens. It was the best steak I've ever had. The lobster tail was the only thing that wasn't perfect but it was still good!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Recently had dinner here and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the view of Pittsburgh was amazing. The repurposed building being converted from an old train station into a beautiful restaurant was a treat.

Brenda W.

Yelp
As far as buffets go, I would say the food was very average. We drove a couple of hours on Christmas Day for the buffet. Of course it was packed, but that was to be expected. The venue is interesting in that it is a historic train depot, but the food was not worth a two hour drive. We elected to use valet parking since we were not familiar with the area. That was a bit of a mess. We waited quite a while to get our car when we left the restaurant. They seem to be very disorganized. Overall, keep your expectations low and enjoy the historic aspect of the restaurant.

David T.

Yelp
Came here for a staff holiday lunch. They had one waitress handle a group of 20. They probably should've had one more waitress help, but perhaps they didn't have enough staff to do so. I had iced tea to drink and what they brought out look like light-sepia colored water. And it tasted like it too. Later in the meal between the time they served the entree and dessert, they brought us a refill, and the tea had actually had time to steep. I don't know why their tea wasn't done in time, but they never should've served us that tea. The dynamite snapper wasn't quite dynamite. It was OK and the crab meat was probably the best part of it. But again there was nothing dynamite about the fish. The sides were an uninspired and flavorless, mashed potatoes and green beans. The dessert look good, but I couldn't eat it because of my dairy intolerance. I brought it home from my girlfriend and she said it was good. A little disappointed in what used to be a really special place to have a meal.

Hannah G.

Yelp
Visited for the first time for the Sunday brunch buffet when family was in town. We made reservations and seating went smoothly. Service was slow and it seemed like other tables around us continued to have faster service. The staff were friendly though. As for the food, incredibly mediocre to downright bad. There were a few good things such as the craved turkey and ham, fresh donuts, and omelette station. Otherwise, it was glorified hotel breakfast quality. The churros and pretzels at the chocolate fountain were hard and stale. A lot of the food and desserts felt like they lacked any flavor. It is not worth the $45 price per person. Overpriced for what you get. The only redeeming thing is the building itself. It's beautiful and cool to see all the history it holds. Maybe regular lunch or dinner service is better than the Sunday brunch but we don't need to go back.

Anna V.

Yelp
Everything was absolutely delicious. We had the calamari as our appetizer (recommended by our server Jesse) and it was absolutely to die for!!! Every entree we got was so delicious. I absolutely recommend the tortellini and the shrimp scampi. Our server Jesse was wonderful. So attentive and took our photos on the steps at the end. The female bartender with long brown hair was also brilliant. I absolutely recommend this place for any celebratory dinners or special occasions. Ask for Jesse!

Yelp
Terrific hosting of our 24-person family get-together at this elegant venue! We had a wonderful event with delicious food and a perfect hostess! Right from the start, communication with their events team was always prompt, clear, and efficient. Price options were exact and reasonable. Room options and deadlines were clear. Their great event manager, Brian George, was friendly, available, and responsive. The restaurant is easy to find, just off E. Carson St. under the Smithfield Street Bridge, about a 500-ft walk from the Station Square station on the Silver, Red, and Blue lines. $12 Valet parking on the east side of the restaurant was quick and easy, and not much more costly than the $8-$10 self-parking about 0.2-miles up the street, and they would have discounted $8 off the self-parking fee for the event. The Grand Concourse is a truly majestic restaurant and bar, in a train station on the National Register of Historic Places built in 1901, where the patriarch of our family took the train to summer camp in his youth. Stained-glass ceilings, marble columns, ornate brass and dark-wood (mahogany?) decor with historic photos, and a long elegant photo-ready staircase up fromm the main dining concourse. We were in the spacious Board Room off the main concourse, slightly less ornate but still lovely. In addition to ample comfortable seating for all of us around a U-shaped table, they provided appetizers on a side-table and a large-screen TV for a slide-show we put together. The high ceiling didn't echo, and we all could hear each other, even while we played a self-made playlist. The kids danced a lot, and the most-fun guest danced with them! (Shout-out to you, Duncan :-) Staci, our event hostess, was excellent! She was ready when we came in the door, helpful in setting up our A/V, and always attentive with prompt friendly professional bar and food service. She and her staff made sure we were happy every moment, providing personal touches that made each of us feel welcome and valued. We'll ask for Staci when we return! Food was delicious, from a varied and generous charcuterie and hot flavorful chicken satay, to endless fresh breads, bright maple-vinaigrette salads, our selection of perfectly cooked tender moist bronzed salmon and blue-cheese-buttered sirloin, with roasted vegetable ravioli for our veggie guests. They made spaghetti for our 4 and 5-year olds. (Thank you Staci for that timely child-friendly offer!) Key lime pie was enjoyably tart and sweet and fresh-flavored. Several of us came back to the pleasant Gandy Dancer Saloon for the weekday 3:30 to 6:30pm happy hour (as of early Sep 2024). Nice selection of known brands and tasty well-drinks, tasty small plates (plus the full restaurant menu which we didnt indulge this time), friendly efficient service and well-crafted cocktails. Pro-tip: The bar stools have backs! There are some booths, too. Thank you Staci, Brian, talented kitchen and bar staff, and the beautiful Grand Concourse for a lovely memorable event for the whole family.

Yelp
Venue is beautiful up to date decor. Entering the private room for our Mom's 90th birthday party we were met by Stacy. Stacy was snippy and unfriendly. Stacy lacked patience with our guests while taking orders. Stacy's demeanor and tone was negative. Stacy never smiled or gave a simple greeting. The appetizers were terrible. Egg rolls were nasty and lacked flavor. Chicken kebabs were horrible lacked flavor and the presentation was horrible. The crackers for the cheese and crackers were stale. The pink lemonade was toooo sweet. The steaks were rare although we requested medium well. Upon the party ending Stacy would always come to the table that myself and my siblings were taking decorations from instead of going to tables that were ready to be cleaned. Definitely DO NOT recommend and will never return!

Yelp
I had a VERY bad experience at Grand Concourse tonight. We made a reservation for 4:45pm, called to asked if we could push it back to 5:15pm. The hostess said yes, but didn't ask for any information. Thought that was odd so I asked, "do you need my name or anything?" And she explicitly responded "nope". I showed up, and they said they canceled my reservation.....HEH? We told them what happened over the phone, and one of the three hostesses looked at me, in the most "I don't care, what do you want me to do?" look. I know mistakes happen, and maybe I should have pushed harder to provide my information when changing the reservation. But I was very disappointed at their attitude and how unprofessionally they had handled the whole situation. Anyways, they had a booth seat available at the bar -- so we took the spot. Waited 30minutes for our waiter to come and take our order. 30 minutes. With just two glasses of water. No starter bread, didn't take our order, no silverware, nothing. We were told to wait twice in the 30 minutes of time. At this point. We were obviously frustrated. We were visiting from out of town, and it was our last night. The whole night felt ruined with a series of bad experiences. My husband was VERY upset at this point. Our reservation cancelled, restaurant acting like it was our fault, our server not serving us for half an hour. COME ON. What is going on?! He spoke to our server about how this entire experience at the Grand Concourse did not feel acceptable, a restaurant that we expected to have a certain level of attentiveness. Thankfully, he understood - and everything was fast from then on. We got the Schnitzel, a Prime Rib, two draft beers. Beers were good, prime rib was pretty great, and I would skip the schnitzel. The venue was beautiful. Train station themed which I thought was very cool. I really wish the management sees this and addresses this with their front staff.

Yelp
Had reservations at 7:00, was immediately told it would be a 20 minute wait due to "graduation dinners". We weren't seated until 8:10. Food was cold, mediocre. This place lost its luster two decades ago. Never again.

Yelp
Our recent family celebration at the Grand Concourse was marred by subpar service. Despite the delicious food, the evening began poorly with the table being set for the wrong number of guests. The server corrected the setting but failed to remove the extra chair, creating unnecessary congestion. Furthermore, one of our drinks was initially forgotten and had to be requested again. The service continued to falter when our main courses arrived shortly after our salads, despite a significant wait between ordering. This resulted in a cramped table and an unpleasant dining experience. To add insult to injury, my father was served the wrong meal - prime rib instead of the steak he ordered. Despite his insistence, the server initially insisted he had ordered the prime rib. After a lengthy wait, the correct steak arrived, but unfortunately, it was not cooked to his preference. While mistakes can happen, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of apology or acknowledgment from the server. At a restaurant of this caliber, we expect both excellent food and impeccable service. We were unable to speak with a manager during our meal, so I am posting this review in the hopes that this feedback can be used to improve the service at the Grand Concourse. At a restaurant we that is considered fine dining, you expect expectional service or at least acknowledgement of mistakes.

Yelp
My mom and Love the brunch buffet we've done it five times now the food is always good as well as the staff and each time we get their we always end up outside with the view of the river and some parts of downtown which makes it that much better to be honest I look forward to doing this brunch every year when I do it.

Yelp
The food, the service, the atmosphere was amazing during New Years Day !!! WhT a wonderful place for family and friends to gather during the holiday !!'n I loved the Martha's Vineyard Salad, and the applejack Sea Bass was excellent , I truly loved the key lime pie. The girls enjoyed the chicken fingers. The steak was prepared well. The bread was warm and delicious! This is a must bust restaurant located in station square, highly recommend !'

Yelp
I'm giving two stars because our waiter and the manager were great. The ambiance gets the second star. Cool building great views however the food killed one star. The wait time for food and drink killed another. The dirtiness of the bathrooms take away another star. Food- Had to send two 22oz ribeyes back. Ordered medium rare and the first came out 30 seconds short of being a hockey puck. Next one came out and I think it was cooked for a total of 30 seconds as it was so raw the steak knife wouldn't even cut through it. Lobster bisque was good but lukewarm at best. Smashed potatoes could've used some seasoning and they were very hot either. Are the scallops but they were a little overcooked and chewy. On the bright side everyone else enjoyed their food but disappointing to have a $105 steak dinner and didn't get to eat it. Thankfully it was comped. Wait time for food was crazy long despite the place not being very busy. We were there for just over two total hours. Cocktails also came after a long wait. Bathrooms were dirty and unkept. Too nice of a place to have them not attended to constantly. Again thank you to the manager for comping the dinner and a drink. Still would have been nice to be able to eat dinner big after the long waits for the food originally I wasn't waiting any longer. Definitely would not go back after this experience

Yelp
Blatantly dishonest, shady, and downright infuriating. The owner messaged us on Yelp claiming they'd follow up--we've heard absolutely nothing. My friend has called multiple times and been completely ignored. No response, no accountability, nothing. They secretly added a $40 tip to our bill without our knowledge or consent. That's not a mistake--that's theft. This place doesn't just have terrible service--they flat-out don't care and operate with zero integrity. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague. I repeat, DO NOT DINE HERE!!!

Yelp
Well came back as a request to see if a normal Sunday Brunch was going to make a difference. Food was much better than Mother's Day in the sense: replenished, hot, plentiful and was not appearing like the savages just took over. The donuts always great and the waffles were the lightest I have ever had. The Prime Rib yet again was a disappointment. Near rare and that was on an end cut. The crust was a bit salty and just lacked the flavor, since it was still out in the fields. The one photo you can see the beef in the lower right hand corner. I was not photographing a butcher shop. I was told that the chefs/cooks were working on doing better. Well first off, turn on the ovens and leave the meat in there until it reaches an internal temperature about 145. Complete lack of knowledge, or is it lack experience? I gave it a 4, as the other items were good (5 stars to omelet and pasta stations). I asked our server, Taylor (highly suggest requesting) how many Prime Ribs were taken back, since we had one at our table be sent back to the kitchen to be grilled and the table next to us had two sent back. Eight, and that was from one server. How is that efficient? Will I go back? Sure, possibly. Though I may stick to a sit down meal instead. Kudos to managers Colin and Taylor.

Yelp
I was part of a group of about 30 people for a wedding dinner. We had about half of a room to ourselves, with a physical separation between us and the rest of the room. A choice of four entrees was offered. I picked the prime rib, a large slice, roasted medium and well seasoned on the outside. Included a skewer with two large shrimp and two fairly small scallops, also well roasted. Plate also included green beans, quite tasty, and mashed potato. First course was Martha's Vineyard Salad, surprisingly tasty odd greens with chunks of blue cheese, sweet red onion slices, and a lightly applied maple raspberry dressing that probably made the salad. But not only was the food good. For a large group meal the key is the service. They were fast and efficient, taking the individual entree orders and bringing the food with dispatch and accuracy, and coming by to remove used plates, refill water carafes, etc, with frequency. Very satisfying occasion. Fantastic view of the river and downtown from the windows of our well-appointed room, too, did I mention?

Yelp
Still haven't heard back about the server ringing up my check wrong, from anyone other than the robo response on here. I'm starting to think they're sending my refund by carrier pigeon. Or maybe smoke signals? Who knows! At this point, I'll probably have to go back in person; because nothing says "excellent customer service" like a scavenger hunt to find someone who cares. Can't wait to awkwardly explain it all again while pretending this is totally normal. Cheers!

Yelp
The service is above and beyond with food that will send your taste buds to a new galaxy. If you enjoy eating at fine dining establishments then this is a perfect place to visit. As a side note, this is a Landry's owned restaurant which is another perk. When you walk in you'll immediately feel and see the magnificent ambiance. This is a must go-to restaurant and enjoy a fine dining evening.

Yelp
Fantastic Sunday Brunch!!! So much food! Beautiful presentation. Great flavor! Many options! It was cold inside of the restaurant which made us uncomfortable. We needed a warm beverage. Our server was attentive. Better than Fogo de Chao and a much better value.

Yelp
The atmosphere at this fine restaurant was luxurious with high ceilings and lots of wood used in the era. It was once a large rail station. The menu contained a continental cuisine with an array of special spices, marinated meats and seafood. The "sesame crusted ahi tuna" caught my eye and was sumptuous. Crab cakes and shrimp were chosen by others. Neil was our waiter and told stories about the Pittsburgh area and described the entries with clarity and humor! The service he provided was complete and timely! We will return soon on our next trip from Cleveland. Enjoy the Grand Concourse anytime and for special occasions!

Yelp
The food was amazing especially the filet mignon, that just melted in your mouth like butter. The building was just beautiful since it was built into an old train station. And the view of the river, was magnificent. The only thing that wasn't as up to par as rest would be the service. We were there for three hours after only ordering two menu items. I just don't find it fair that they're asking for 50 dollars a plate and then it take two hours for the food itself to come out.

Yelp
DO NOT LEAVE STATION SQUARE OR PITTSBURGH WITH COMING HERE!!!!! Grand Concourse is located at the end of the Smithfield Street Bridge, close to the famous s South Side or East Carson Street. This gorgeous work of art is inside of one of thee most beautiful official landmarks in Pittsburgh. Collin was our waiter who took amazing care of us! If you do go in to enjoy this fabulous atmosphere and phenomenal food, ask for Collin. He will give you amazing wine recommendations and will give you the best options that pair soooo well with different menu items!!!! Collin was absolutely spot on!!! 10/10, will recommend to a friend.

Yelp
We had a reservation here for Sunday brunch and it took about 20 minutes after the reservation to be seated so that was disappointing. However, our waitress was attentive though for how busy it was. The overall Sunday Brunch selection was decent. There was a bunch of hot breakfast selections, a few meat stations, a delicious pasta station, a chocolate fountain and other desserts. The food was pretty average, I thought that the pasta station was the highlight. The space itself is really beautiful and we sat towards the back with views of the river, bridges and city. One thing I would recommend would to be to have labels at the dessert station. There were a bunch of items on one table that didn't specify what was what/any allergies.
