I have wanted to eat here for a while, and finally decided to do so for a family dinner pre-Christmas. We had reservations at 5 PM and were promptly seated in a very nice small private room (probably because our party included a young child, but we weren't complaining). Unfortunately, that was the last truly positive part of the evening. One of the things that should have been a tip-off was that the restaurant did not seem busy at all. On the Saturday before Christmas, that seemed to be odd. Everything took a lot longer than it should have. We were there for over three hours. Appetizers were OK at best. The one in our party that got a salad described the greens as "awful" and only ate a couple of bites. I got a soup that tasted canned. My wife described the way she wanted her steak (medium well with a char) and it came back on the rare side of medium rare and with no char. Desserts were OK. Everything was overpriced. One of the feature cocktails was not available as they were out of an ingredient. One of the whiskeys was likewise out of stock. The waitress, while friendly and pleasant to deal with, had not received enough training to know how to pronounce one of the specials, and had to check multiple times on other things. We will definitely not be back

Pleasantly Suprised! We were visiting Columbia and ended up at Grand Cru when our other dinner reservations fell through. The food was well prepared, staff knowledgeable, and made wonderful recommendations. Will definitely dine here again.

It had been a long time since I last dined in here. A couple weeks ago I was here for a social event, which was hosted in one of the private rooms. I ordered salmon and it was fairly decent; just wish the salmon wasn't coated with bread crumbs. My friend ordered the chicken dish and it was huge when it came in. We were all like 'where should we even start?'. Lol! I liked the dining atmosphere as it was very quiet and classic. The price here is of course at the higher end of my budget, but it won't hurt to return here once in a while.

I arrived with a party of five at 5 o'clock. We did not even get seated until 510. With water. Finally at 5:40 my daughter went and asked if we were supposed to get our own drinks Food was OK actually! But the service was horrible. We didn't even get out of there until 8 o'clock. I will never go to this place again.

Google
Not a bad place to eat maybe I just had a bad experience. It took a while for us to get our drinks and I think I know why. There was only 2 servers on a Friday night, and a big square footage area including a patio. Anyways to the food, I ordered a medium well KC strip as shown in picture it came out rare and bloody. The bacon cheeseburger and steak fries The steak fries were awesome yet the cheese on the cheeseburger seem to be over cooked really not there with a plain flavor. The lobster macaroni and cheese was average only a few pieces lobster on top. Was not really cheesy. There’s definitely other options on the menu I was interested in yet had to try the two main things. One last thing is the bread free? I seen other tables around us have some but we never got ours.

Google
The atmosphere was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The menu is diverse with some surprises like fried crawfish and Brie salad and timeless crowd pleasers like calamari and onion rings. The staff were efficient, professional, & knowledgeable about the menu. The beef skewers were seasoned and cooked perfectly medium rare. Soft savory meat in a delectable cream sauce with mushrooms and onions. I could eat that over pasta or rice as an entree, happily. The calamari was slightly over fried but not too tough and the sauce was like a spicy ranch/remoulade, it was delicious. The fish and chips were disappointing. The fish was fried quite hard and was dry. The chips were fried perfectly crisp. The tartar sauce had split and was warm & runny. The shrimp and andouille pasta was also underwhelming. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, bouncy and sweet. The entire amount of grease from frying off the sausage remained in the bowl, and the other flavors were hidden making it bland and greasy. The bacon burger and the black and bleach burger had a luxurious smoky grilled flavor but there was no sauce, dressing, lettuce, tomato, nor pickle. It was a very dry experience. Overall, they make some delicious steaks and salads, pass on the seafood items and definitely choose dessert!

Google
Holy cow!!!! This was phenomenal. Had Sea Food Fondue for the appetizer.. Wife had Free Range Chicken and Jalapeño Wafles. I had the Vegetarian Plater and the 8 once Filet ( I know...but I need to eat more veggies). The service and atmosphere is great and the prices are reasonable. This is one we will be coming back to on a regular basis.

Google
Food is kind of hit and miss, but the atmosphere and service makes it a good option for a quiet date night. We had the duck, fried crawfish bites and a buffalo chicken sandwich. Duck in the sauce was good. Crawfish bites are in cornmeal, which I don’t personally like, but were executed well. Buffalo chicken was pretty bad. You could tell by the hard and mushy parts of the batter that it was cooked unevenly, and the breading came off in one slimy sheet. Something didn’t agree with me and I spent the next few hours sick. Restaurant is pretty comfy and quiet. Nice cozy wood tones everywhere, white table cloth. Server was prompt and courteous. Was pretty empty for a Friday night, but that’s a plus for me.

Yelp
The Grand Cru had a very warm ambiance. Not as intimate as I had expected but very nice nonetheless. The service was adequate, but since it was a Tuesday night and they were running a skeleton crew I was impressed with the way things were handled. The food was in a word, epic. The filet was prepared to my preference and was tender as a good filet should be. I recommend the bread pudding as a finish. It was a very tasty way to close out my dinner. My only complaint with the evening was there was no bread service offered. If you are looking for a quiet evening with an awesome meal, the Grand Cru would be a great choice.

Yelp
The food was quite good. I had a steak and ordered it medium rare. It was cooked perfectly as requested. They do need a remodel on the interior. It doesn't match the food menu. It is hard not to judge the experience based on the atmosphere. The service was amazing and zero to complain about in that area. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
Our server was personable and friendly. Food was out to our table after a short wait. Was not feeling too adventurous, so just had fish and it was great! Date had a pasta dish that was also terrific. The dining area seems to be separated from the bar area and both appeared clean to me. Overall enjoyable meal with good food, will return.

Yelp
4 stars because service was VERY long. Atmosphere reminds me of senior citizen home but the food was nothing like that! Firstly the rookie ousters were delicious and well spruced up with seasonings and onions. I really enjoyed it. There was bo fresh ocean taste which is a plus. Main meal was the lamb chops which were tender and creamy mashed potatoes. My table ordered the lobster mac and cheese for us all to share. It was missing something in the flavoring, it was just very bland. I wanted to like it but it did not do it for me. Brussel sprouts were the veggie of the day. Not a huge fan but these were steamed on some sauce which I enjoyed.

John M.

Yelp
Terrific menu and chef. Steaks and salmon. Great wines by the glass. Ridge Three Valleys Zin. Good whiskey selection and cocktails. Not crowded.

Yelp
We visited this place for the first time this evening and let me tell you- it wasn't the greatest experience. When we first walked in, we immediately noticed large dark stains on the old, red carpet. The place also had a smell like a nursing home. It needs remodeled badly. There was only one person working that we could see, she sat us, she got our drinks, and eventually brought the food. Since she was the only one there, everything took at least twice as long as it should have. We waited for a good 30 mins before we could put our order in. I got the lobster bisque, which was ok, flavor was rich and slightly fishy, which I could handle. However there was only TWO small pieces of lobster. My husband got the 16oz Ribeye. It came out undercooked (he ordered medium rare and it was blue and cold in the center). The flavor was mediocre at best, with absolutely no seasonings whatsoever. Just a plain piece of meat. The best thing we ordered were the oysters Rockefeller - full of flavor and very good. All in all, I gave two stars due to the lack of service, overall ambiance, and mediocre food. We won't be back.

Yelp
The food was very good. Salmon cooked perfectly Good service and quiet atmosphere Overall very pleased

Yelp
Idk why this restaurant has only a 3.5 star rating because it's far better than most restaurants in Columbia and the prices are very reasonable. I think it gets overlooked bc the location is a little odd but the food is very good. We have eaten here twice and have really enjoyed all their dishes. The palette here tends towards sweet or salty and although I would prefer a bit more restraint I have learned that the Midwest is big on salt and sugar. They are very good at cooking their proteins just right. We ordered the shrimp risotto special without the bleu cheese because I'm not a fan of bleu cheese. Even with the special request to omit the bleu cheese it was really good I hade the ribeye with the broiled lobster add on and it was also perfectly cooked My husband had the tenderloin w Boursin and lobster cheese on the side. Lobster and Boursin surprise my goes well together and worked well on the corn on the cob I would totally recommend this place for date night. It's a great place to get a really good meal at a very reasonable price

James ..

Yelp
Service is crap wanted at the bar for twenty mins no hello, no water, not drinks. It's like I died and was a ghost just sitting at the bar.

Yelp
We will return again to Gran Cru! On a whim our group of four decided to try it, and we were delighted with the dining room's atmosphere, David's service, and the food. Well done!

Todd H.

Yelp
To many Cobb weds in the wine room. Need to be updated and refurbished. Appears to be needing need owners.

Yelp
We started with the Oysters Rockefeller which was made with decent size oysters for Missouri and full of spinach and bacon and were cooked perfectly I ordered the nightly special which was a ribeye and three Cajun shrimp with grill asparagus, wife ordered the rack of lamb with asparagus. We also ordered a side of creamed spinach. Steak and lamb were flavorful seared nicely and cooked a perfect medium rare. I am not a big fan of the stinky pee vegetable but it tasted like it was grilled under the steak making very good. Drinks were good a Basel Hayden on the rocks and a cucumber martini fit nicely with dinner. Little noisy with a couple of kids who must have had a few sodas but overall family friendly. Bathrooms were spotless. Their is a faint hint of cigar but it quickly goes away. Service was friendly and our needs were anticipated quickly. Probably could have used a full time bartender. We will be back again.

Yelp
The waiter was surly. The lights are blinding in this place. My friend really liked the salmon with squash. I wasn't impressed.

Yelp
We were there to celebrate 2 birthdays with a group of 14. It was a literal shit show from the very beginning. A comedy of errors. We did not get out of there for almost 4 hours. It really impeded upon the rest of evening. The food delivered was mostly incorrect and a lot of it was not good. It took almost an hour to get our checks after asking for them. Then all of the bills were wrong, every single one of them. Then the manager did nothing to make it better. Well, he tried to buy me a drink on the house, ended up adding a different drink to my bill, so I actually ended up paying more than I would have. His response, well I guess I didn't buy you a drink. No, you actually overcharged me in trying to do so. It was a complete cluster. Out of 14 diners, not a one said they would ever come back. Such a sad experience.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great ambience! Excellent value. Can't imagine why you would eat anywhere else!

Yelp
Went with another couple and was skeptical because some of the reviews. We were very happy with our overall experience. While it's a bit dated it works well and is very clean. The service was fast and friendly, they were also knowledgeable about the menu items and specials. One person in the group has allergies and the server and chef were very accommodating. We ordered prime rib, a duck breast and salmon (one of the specials) and everyone was extremely happy with the meals. For desert we had the bread pudding and cheesecake and again they were all very good. While it's a bit expensive overall, in our experience, it was well worth it. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Enjoyed are dinner. Steaks were really good. Bartender made a solid, unique Old Fashioned. My wife's cocktail was very good as well. Place is definitely dated and seemed to have a "regulars" vibe. That being said, everyone sitting around us was very kind. Good place for a date night, very little distractions. We will be back.

Yelp
Went here for Mizzou graduation dinner. Very disappointed!! They changed the menu without any notification to us ahead of time. (Prices went up on said menu.) We had to ask to get bread served. The Ono was DRY and under seasoned, garlic mashed potatoes were room temp and bland. Overall, it was not worth the money. Sad way to end an amazing 4 years.

Carl H.

Yelp
The filet with lobster tail was fantastic !!! Overall an outstanding experience! Worthwhile to check out the unique cigar and bourbon store affiliated with it.

John K.

Yelp
Elegant restaurant with good service. My wife had the chicken with broccoli and other vegetables of which there were few; mostly noodles and somewhat bland. I had the rainbow trout; overbaked and lacking tenderness. Asparagus side was excellent.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
This place was good not great. The prices are not too high but not cheap. I had a Cajun shrimp pasta. It was simple with four ingredients. Shrimp had its tail on in the sauce and I hate that. Wife had the Salmon and she said it was ok, not great. We noticed that all the other tables had bread, but not us. Lots of empty tables for a Friday night at 6 to 7

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend went here expecting a nice dinner. When we arrived we wanted to see the shop next door that's attached. So we went in there and it was completely trashed. There was stuff everywhere. And there "cigar lounge" has unclean tables and clutter everywhere. We should have left then but figured to still give it a chance. After about 15 minutes it was time for our reservation so we walked to the restaurant and we got seated immediately. I got the New York strip as well as my girlfriend and she added a lobster tail. The steaks were very bland and almost flavorless. The lobster tail was very small for a $26 lobster tail. Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. All I can say positive is the waiter was polite.

Yelp
We were searching for a nice steak place with other food options for our entire group and this place HIT THE SPOT! Their staff was amazing, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect! We are so happy with everything at the place. The fondue appetizer was "to die for" and the scallop appetizer was sooo yummy! Can't say enough good things about this place.

Yelp
First visit , nice place , service was excellent , food was good quality and taste, server was very friendly . Price on the high end but worth the setting and food quality .

Yelp
5/5 would 100% recommend. The waitstaff was impressively friendly and the food was excellent. There was a nice old timey vibe which has been slowly fading away but this resultant did an exceptional job of preserving it.
google avatar

Yelp
VERY GOOD FOOD!!!!!! extremely pleased with everything about our experience at this restaurant. Successful in giving me and my family a great dinner while following covid protocall. would recommend.

Yelp
I'd give it six stars if I could. Such a gem, only place you can smoke a cigar, drink a good whiskey, while watching the game.

Chad C.

Yelp
We made a reservation on an early Wednesday evening and was impressed with the overall quality and preparation of the food. Had several appetizers that were very good and everyone was very happy with the entrees (salmon, trout, duck, NY Strip, and ribeye steak). Steaks were well-seasoned and cut and cooked properly. The bread had a crispy crust and was awesome. The only miss was being out of ginger beer and having to order a margarita, which was cloying due to being a pre-mix perhaps. Service was attentive. It was not very busy (outside of the bar), but I largely attest it to the fact that this establishment does very little, if any, advertising. This is a place to go to take your time and enjoy a great meal.
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten at Grand Cru in the past and loved it. This time I was disappointed. My wife and I went on a Monday evening, around 5:30. Things started out poorly. They were clearly understaffed. We waited 5 minutes to be seated because the one and only waitress was also the Hostess. There were several open tables. The waitress did not take drink orders so we had to flag her down. The menu is nice and diverse. It would be nice if they would serve bread or rolls with the meal (or something similar as an appetizer. The food was poorly timed. We had barely started our salads when the main course was brought out. My wife loved the trout. My steak was dry and slightly over cooked. Overall I was disappointed.

Yelp
An extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime experience for me. Never went to what I guess is a "supper club" before, where it was like being a guest at someone's home. I'm talking about the dining area where you can smoke cigars and watch TV with the owners and the host's dog. Just an amazing environment, and the food itself was splendidly prepared and served. I don't live close by, but if I'm ever within 100 miles of this place I'm coming back!

Charlotte C.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We took a work group for dinner. Had the seared scallops for an appetizer and they were delicious. Variety of food was ordered for dinner with mostly being the steak special and the rib eye, everyone was very pleased with their meals. The wine selection was phenomenal. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This place is a "steal of a (delicious) deal"on a Monday night when a lot of restaurants are dark and closed. They offer an array of hot sandwich combos exclusively priced at $10 on Monday nights which includes a juicy 1/3 lb burger, a heap of potato wedge fries, and a glass of wine or draft of beer. All for $10! I ordered the Black and Bleu burger which has melted Bleu cheese with a drizzle of reduced balsamic vinegar on top - two of my favorite tastes! I got the Stella Artois on tap to round out my meal.....because although I do usually enjoy a glass of white wine with my meals. Nothing beats a burger with a beer....pub food must be washed down with a beer. My husband got the chef's special burger which was a burger with pepper jack cheese, mushrooms and onions. Delectable. Our son joined us and ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich, which he thoroughly enjoyed. There was no wait. Our server was friendly and accommodating- a refreshing change from some of our other favorite haunts - where you habitually wait for a table, and then feel like you get "the bum's rush" while trying to enjoy your meal at a reasonable pace. The decor is somewhat dated but it's cozy and almost retro....I'd rather have outdated decor and delicious food for a fair price, than have my meal price increase to cover an updated renovation! Hands down best burger&beer deal in South CoMo....!
google avatar

Lynne B.

Yelp
Great food-our waiter Wade was very good & attentive. He let us sample wine before we made a decision on which bottle we wanted to buy. The raw oysters were great! The carpaccio was a bit different from most because it was sliced thicker but very good. The atmosphere was nice & relaxing. When you come in, you definitely smell cigars but not in the dining area. We'll definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a treasure... ...especially if you like whiskey, cigars and character. The menu is moderately sized, but filled with great things. Order-- the osso bucco and a whiskey -- whether you like scotch, bourbon or rye, there's something to please. The real secret to Grand Cru is George's extensive stock of cigars and his impressive store of whiskeys -- tell him what you're partial to and let him guide your selection. You won't be sorry.

Mia D.

Yelp
This is the second time we have ordered and have gotten burnt steaks. The first time, the steaks were delicious and I gladly spent $100 more dollars days later and gotten perfect medium steaks. The third time we ordered, the steak was charred and well done instead of the medium steaks we've always ordered. We thought it must have been a bad night so we ordered again another day. To our surprise, more burnt steaks! My husband called and the manager, Tyler, said we could come in for a new one. Well, we just came home with the "new" ones (a week later) and they taste like the burnt, well done steaks from before. They are too burnt to even be edible. All the manager could do was offer a "sorry" since he already said that he paid for the steaks tonight. We've lost money (our $120), time (waiting at the restaurant for fresh food since he said the steaks cook for 30 minutes after being cooked and to not let it sit for pick up) and a restaurant that could have been our favorite. The unsatisfactory service and rude conversation with the manager seems to be unique and I hope it is not because of how I look.

Yelp
I have been here 3 times now. The food quality is great. 4 stars on that. However, the meals.... if the food could be served hot, or sooner than 45 minutes after finishing the appetizer or salad, I would rank the meals as 4 stars. But since they have troubles in this regard...2 stars. Food price...expensive for Columbia. 3 stars. Service...I have had good service on one visit. Bad on the other 2. I mean bad as though they had no waiter/waitress experience before. 2 stars. Drink selection...awesome! Expensive though and short pours. 3 stars. The last time we dined there, food was being delivered from the kitchen to the neighboring cigar bar through a patio area door a few feet away from where we were sitting. It was cold outside and a cold blast of air hit us with each exit and entry. Since we had a 45 minute wait between finishing ur appetizer/salads, and getting our luke-warm meals, this became extremely aggravating. 1 star. Disappointed is the best way to describe our experience here. This place has potential. Hopefully they will work out the details.

Brie C.

Yelp
My fiancé proposed to me here and the staff worked with him to plan everything so that it would be perfect. They had a private room reserved for us, and coordinated for our photographer to sit just outside the entrance to the room. Our waiter was Ricardo and he provided such quick and satisfactory service. He had a very pleasant attitude and made sure we had what we needed the entire time. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was so tasty! Our night was nothing short of amazing. Grand Cru made our experience so special! Highly recommend!

Pat C.

Yelp
Not for me. Ate at Grand Cru, and while the food was good, and reasonably priced, the whole place smelled strongly of cigars. There was no smoking in the restaurant section, but the odor wafted from the adjoining cigar bar despite the fact that they're supposedly separate. The service was quite slow despite the fact that there weren't very many patrons, but friendly nonetheless. The biggest knock I have is the stifling cigar smoke aroma. It permeated our clothes, and hair, so if you don't like the stogie aroma, you may want to try another place.
google avatar

Walter W.

Yelp
Not a bad selection. I want the vintage lighter that he has. If you like bourbon, they have a great selection that is VERY well priced. The owner is laid back and chill. You'll enjoy it

Yelp
Had a wonderful meal with friends Friday evening at Grand Cru! Our waitress was great and helpful and our food was delicious. My husband and I both had duck but we each had different preparations which we both enjoyed and I'd have again. Our friends all had meals they enjoyed as well, but my biggest praise is for the gentleman I spoke to Saturday morning when my husband realized he'd left his credit card there. We don't live in the area and we were at the airport when he discovered this. They are mailing it to us and we are so appreciative! Thank you Grand Cru! Next visit to Columbia and you'll be our first stop for food!

Ted S.

Yelp
I made reservations a couple days in advance thinking that such a nice restaurant would be busy any night of the week. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation time, but there was no wait and we were seated immediately. The waiter took our drinks and appetizers order and we got our drinks in a timely manner. The appetizers ... not so much. The appetizers took a little longer to show up than the longest time one would EXPECT them to take, which, said plainly was way too long. After making a good dent in our appetizers and talking about how long it took for them to be delivered, the waiter took our dinner order. The main dishes took a VERY LONG time to arrive. I didn't notice what time we ordered our dinner, but I did notice that we had been at the table for about an hour and 15 minutes before our dinner was served to us. We were getting quite grumpy by the time dinner arrived. I ordered the vegetarian plate and added a lobster tail as my main dish. I gotta say, I expected a lot more lobster for $26. It looked like a 4 oz tail which meant it had about 2-3 oz of meat in it. Not a good value at all. The vegetarian plate was also a disappointment. Imagine a meat loving cook who has been forced to include a vegetarian option on his/her menu. He/she throws some basic vegetables on the grill to warm them up and then serves them over some basic mushroom and (rice or quinoa or something??) goop. It's like he's/she's saying "Here's your !@#$ veggie plate!" AND it cost $14. I could have gotten a better vegetarian meal out of a frozen box for $4 from the grocery store. My wife got the rainbow trout with brusel sprouts as her side. She said her dinner was good, but there we only 4 brusel sprouts! Really!?! Four!?! They were good, there just should have been twice as many. Again, this is a premium priced meal. Don't skimp on the ... well ... anything. My mother got the salmon with brusel sprouts, and her plate was also light on the brusels. The dessert was FABULOUS!!! WOW!! Yummy awesomeness!! But then... My wife and mother ordered decaf coffee with their dessert. WITH THEIR DESSERT!!! Well no, all the dessert was gone and we were talking about just cancelling the coffee when the coffee finally showed up... lukewarm. It's supposed to be "coffee and dessert". Not dessert and then several minutes later lukewarm coffee. The waiter gave us a lame sounding excuse about a broken coffee pot or not enough water or no hot water or something. We were pretty discusted by that time so his excuses just sounded lame. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Grand Cru Restaurant in Columbia, Missouri. Very disappointed.

Yelp
First time at Grand Cru. Went for the Monday night burger special. Really enjoyed it. $10 for a burger, endless fries, and a pint. Good stuff. Saw several things on the menu I'd like to try. Wait staff friendly. Service a bit slow but the night we were there, their computer system had shut down and all orders were hand carried to the kitchen so I'm sure that slowed things down. Plan to go back.

Turner S.

Yelp
Went there last night for my fraternity Christmas dinner, a party of 32, and we had an excellent time. I heard 0 complaints about anything, and personally I loved it. We were in our own room, which was fabulously decorated, and we didn't have to worry about being disturbed or disturbing others. The food options varied enough that I was comfortable everyone's needs would be met, and they all received praise from our party. We had a strip steak, salmon, chicken, and vegetable based entrees that all looked fantastic. The wait staff were super helpful and polite, and quick to make sure we were taken care of, from changing my order last minute (sorry I'm a bad customer) to making sure we were comfortable (it was a little warm when we got in there). I said to a brother "I just want to plan a Christmas dinner at a place people want to go back to, not a place where they're ok with going back to." Grand Cru, you didn't disappoint. Half the guys said we HAD to come back next year. Can't wait to do future business with you!

Yelp
Ok let me start off by saying I wanted to take my wife somewhere fancy and fine dining this place looked perfect. It's beautiful on the inside and the mood is great romantic French music candles pretty made tables but let's get to the food. The menu made the food sound absolutely amazing and for the price we thought it would be. We got 2 of there 12 oz steaks with supposed to be hand cut steak fries and these supposed amazing onion rings. Again we are not your fancy dining people we where both raised poor but we had 100$ for an amazing date night and we were disappointed the steaks where about as basic as they get my wife wanted well done and hers was just charred the hand cut fries where just like bag potato wedges the onion rings looked fancy but where as bland as could be when we asked for sauces they had hidden valley ranch and some basic ketchup now I'm not one to complain but when I paid 80$ for 2 steaks 2 fries and a thing of onion rings I was more than disappointed and not blown away at all I could of went to Texas Roadhouse saved 30$ and had a lot more and better food needless to say I will never return to this place

Yelp
I almost don't want to tell you how much I like this place, you might go then you will tell your friends. The ribeye is my favorite, the osso bucco is very good, the duck is out of this world. They have a $10 burger and pint special towards the beginning of the week that looks like a great deal. For the cigar smokers in the bunch there is a world class cigar store and lounge next store, that also has some very hard to find Bourbons and Scotches.

Yelp
I love this place. We come here often for business meetings and I've never been disappointed with anything. The filet mignon was so tender, I could cut it with a fork. The desserts are all amazing. The staff is incredibly well trained and helpful. The atmosphere is right out of the 1920's. Everybody should try this place at least once!

Yelp
The atmosphere is generally lovely (white tablecloth), but the food is actually not that fantastic and when I'm paying inordinate amounts of money, I would expect more satisfying food. Go to Sophia's nearby or Sycamore downtown instead.

Yelp
The Ribeye was very undercooked and gristled. Kind of a weird vibe did not know if we should have dressed high end or more casual.

Yelp
Good wine and bourbon selection, disorganized and bad service, hit and miss food. Undercooked risotto? Rookie night here. Price down for predictable food and service and go to Sophia's or price up a bit and go to CC City Broiler to experience what this place claims to be.
