My family & I visit this gorgeous restaurant with amazing service at least 5-6x a year. It’s a slight trek for us coming from South SJ but it’s totally worth it every time. Their food is absolutely scrumptious & their prices are very reasonable. It’s by far our fave dim sum spot in the Bay Area. Can’t recommend Grand Dynasty enough!

Have a Saturday brunch at this location with some friends and is impressed with the elegant settings of the dining hall which indeed has the look of a place where nobility and the well-off people will be dining in. In general, the food is great as compared to other locations that are selling dim sum dishes. However, the waitresses managing the dim sum carts are a bit too pushy in promoting the various dim sum dishes to us which is still okay for me as they are polite even when doing so. My only gripe is that the price for a few slices of roast suckling pig is costing $36.00 which totally ramp up the whole cost of the meal for a group of three.

Google
FOOD food was okay. personally i think it needs some flavor (and salt). SERVICE we ordered a set (like a combo) and a plate of walnut shrimp but they did not serve us our walnut shrimp so we ended up canceling it. they also did not serve us our dessert (which was included in the set) until we reminded them to. ENVIRONMENT VERY COLD. it is FREEZING inside. huge breeze blowing overhead. bring a jacket if youre easily cold.

Amazing staff and fare! We've had other dim sum but nothing quite like Grand Dynasty. Go at 11 if you can. The wait was quick considering the number of people waiting afterwards.. and a wedding getting prepared for it too. Beautiful place!

Google
We love carts Dim Sum! The place is very big, and while the wait was long, it was totally worth it. They have a great variety of Chinese small plates, mostly steamed dumplings. The service was quick, and we got to try everything we wanted. We also ordered some noodles from the menu, which were great too!

Classic Cantonese restaurant in Cupertino, possibly one of the largest Chinese places in the area. They have so many tables that it’s easy to make a reservation or find a table even on a weekend night, even for a larger group. Service was very attentive. Price is in the higher end but they offer dishes that use exotic and/or expensive ingredients that you don’t normally see in a smaller-scale Chinese restaurant. We tried their chicken and pork soup, Peking duck, steamed mullet, steak with morel mushrooms, lobster rice porridge, pea shoots with egg tofu and mushrooms, and pumpkin and shrimp coated with salty egg yolk. Everything was delicious. We had dinner there this time, but their large selection of dim sum is also worth trying. They also gave us complimentary sweet red bean tapioca soup and mango pudding for desserts. This restaurant has become our go-to place if we are in the mood for upscale Cantonese cuisine.

Google
This was our first time trying Grand Dynasty and we were so surprised by how delicious all the dishes were. Dim sum is normally quite heavy, but all of the items we had were flavorful and not too oily. The service was also excellent and the overall atmosphere was modern and clean. Cost ended up being about $45 per person (tax and tip included) which is similar to other dim sum restaurants. Definitely worth it for the quality and quantity of food you get. My family and I had such a great experience and we can’t wait to come back with more loved ones!

Come in on Tuesday for dim sum. So many options here, great choice. Great taste, not many people on weekdays.

Yelp
We intend to have a private party for 30 people - we coordinated with Annie and she is great to work with! She gave us a tour of the private room for 30 people, as well as bigger room up to 50 people. Deposit is 15% Minimum $2.5K spend (before 20% gratuity) for the private room with 3 tables Minimum $3.8K spend (before 20% gratuity) for the private room with 5 tables After our tour, we decided to have dinner. Annie made great recommendation and we are happy with what we ate - it's very tasty! I asked what region of China is the cuisine, and I was told that's its Hong Kong Style. We look forward to hosting our private event here!

Yelp
We tried to go at lunch time but there were so many people waiting outside we decided to wait until dinner to come back. We really wanted dimsum but didn't realize it was only for lunch. We came for dinner and was immediately seated at a large table. The service was fast and they were all nice and the portions were very big! Will definitely come back for dimsum

Yelp
We had our wedding reception at Grand Dynasty, and it was an incredible, lovely experience from start to finish, all thanks in large part to Esmond, the event manager. ESMOND IS THE BEST! First of all, Esmond is genuinely kind, professional, and so accommodating. He answered all our questions with care and made us feel completely taken care of throughout the entire planning process. Working with my mom isn't always the simplest task, but he handled it all with incredible patience and grace. He went above and beyond to make sure every detail was right and that our families felt comfortable and happy. The food was delicious; our guests are still raving about it! The favorites of the night were definitely the honey walnut shrimp and the sea bass, but every dish was fresh, beautifully presented, and so tasty. If you're looking for a beautiful reception venue with amazing food and a thoughtful, professional team, I can't recommend Grand Dynasty and Esmond enough. They made our wedding day feel extra special and worry-free , exactly what you'd hope for on such an important day!

Yelp
This is my first time dining at Grand Dynasty. It is located in the Orchard Farms Shopping Center. There is plenty of parking in this center. The place is so spacious and huge. They also have side rooms for parties of 25+. We were in the main dining area as we were here for a wedding reception. Decorations were nice and fancy. They do offer a small bar area. Two separate multi-user men & women restrooms. Live Seafood Tanks. The food was Cantonese cuisine and delicious!

Yelp
Food was fantastic. There were some gaps in service but when we called their attention- they were very responsive

Yelp
I have been here twice. The place is very spacious and there is a lot of parking but on busy days, might need to spend some time looking for parking or park a little further. I wouldn't say their dimsum items are way better than other places but it's decent. We got har gow, shrimp rice roll, fried pork ribs, xlb soup dumplings, and etc. We also got their special items such as the deep fried eggplant and the salted egg yok pumpkin. The fried eggplant was really good and would recommend it!

Yelp
Have been coming here on and off since they opened. The decor is pretty grand with high ceilings, kinda nice for banquets. They also have a few private rooms of varying sizes for smaller parties. Parking is usually hectic around there with a Safeway and several other restaurants. Came here for dim sum with two other couples on a Saturday. It was not totally full at 11:30am but filled up gradually towards noon. They actually took reservations also. The nice thing about coming on weekends is that they have dim sum carts running around. On weekdays when it's less busy, most items are cooked to order. Had a variety of the standard dim sum dishes like shrimp dumplings, Siu Mai, beef rice rolls, chive and shrimp dumplings, chicken feet, baked BBQ pork buns, fried taro dumplings, and bean curd skin rolls. Also had tofu pudding for dessert. Everything was quite good and authentic. The skin on the shrimp dumplings was a bit too thick. Service was average. Overall it is a pretty solid dim sum spot.

Yelp
Our friends invited us to our choice of either a dim sum lunch or dinner at Grand Dynasty, their favorite local Chinese restaurant. We opted for dinner, and we met at opening time on Tuesday evening. The restaurant is huge with multiple dining rooms. The main dining room was the only one open when we were there and then, only the front half. The tables are spaced well apart so there's plenty of room to walk. The four of us were given a table set for six. Because we sat close to each other, we only took up 3/4 of the table. We had pre-ordered a Fried Whole Sticky Rice Stuffed Chicken and needed to fill in the rest of our menu. The staff was patient with us and offered suggestions. Fried Whole Sticky Rice Stuffed Chicken - 5 - This was our favorite dish of the evening. Unlike other versions that we've had, this one was not as hard fried which actually made it more pleasant to eat. The rice was flavorful enough that I never used the sauce that came with the dish. Salt & Pepper Prawns - 4 - The texture was a little different in that the shell was not as crispy as we had expected. While the peppers were present, they didn't really add much flavor to the dish. The salt was also very subtle. Green Beans and Eggplant in Garlic Sauce - 4 - Second favorite dish of the evening. Good flavors and textures. Steak Cubes in Teriyaki Sauce - 4 - The steak cubes were very tender. The teriyaki sauce had a strong flavor but did not taste like teriyaki sauce to either of us. We found the American broccoli to be kind of odd as steak cubes are more often served with bok choy, which would have been preferred. At the end of our meal, we were served two desserts, probably because our friends were regulars. We got bowls of sweet red bean soup and plates of mango pudding. The menu is pretty and loaded with pictures of their offerings. We'll probably be back to try some other flavors some time down the road. We had asked for ice water for all four of us and were served cold water. When mine was nearly empty, I asked for iced water with an emphasis on ice. The young lady brought me a tall glass of ice, which I offered to share around the table, and a carafe of cold water. She and the servers also kept our tea pot filled. I don't understand why our table didn't have a lazy Susan in the center. These are common in many Chinese restaurants with round tables because it makes it easier for each diner to be able to get to each item without the passing around of dishes. While we only had four dishes, it was a pain to continually stop eating to pass dishes around. In one of my past jobs, I was part of the safety team and trained in assessing ergo practices in an effort to reduce injuries. I give Grand Dynasty kudos for the spaciousness of their dining room and allowing staff to use carts to bring out the dishes of food instead of having to hand carry them. On a side note, the restrooms were definitely the cleanest that we've experienced in a Chinese restaurant anywhere in the world!

Yelp
We hosted a small wedding banquet here with about 30 guests in one of their private rooms, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, the staff was extremely accommodating and incredibly attentive - I can't stress that enough! Whether it was refilling water, clearing plates, or swapping dishes, someone was always there without us needing to ask. It truly made the experience smooth and stress-free. We ordered the Longevity Banquet Package ($868) and substituted the "Long Live E-Fu Noodle" with the "Sun Dried Scallop Seafood Combination Egg White Fried Rice." We also had two vegetarian guests, and the staff kindly prepared separate vegetarian-friendly dishes that were beautifully presented without drawing attention or making anyone feel singled out. We also requested to use the two TVs in the room to showcase a short video, and the team was kind enough to help with the technical setup. Here's what we ordered: Roasted Pork Belly BBQ Combination Platter - 9/10 A guest favorite! The pork belly was perfectly crisp. The baby octopus was a bit sweet for everyone's taste. Dried Scallop Bird's Nest Soup with Bamboo Pith - 10/10 Rich, flavorful, and comforting. Red vinegar and white pepper were provided on the side. Sautéed Prawn & Scallop in Black Truffle Sauce - 10/10 This was devoured quickly. Even our more traditional guests who aren't used to truffle loved it. It was not overpowering at all. Braised #8 Whole Abalone and Shiitake Mushroom with Emerald Greens - 10/10 One of the standout dishes. This was cleared instantly by our guests. Steamed Maine Lobsters & Vermicelli in Garlic Sauce - 9/10 We were pleasantly surprised to receive two whole lobsters. The presentation was beautiful and stayed true to the anatomy of the lobster. Some cuts were a bit tricky to eat, which comes down to the chef's prep technique. Peking Duck with Steamed Buns - 9/10 A classic! Loved the sauce and accompaniments. We just wished there was a more generous serving of cucumbers and green onions. Some duck cuts were inconsistent in size compared to top-tier spots in SoCal. Braised Pea Sprouts with Fresh Crab Meat - 9/10 Delicious and well-cooked, though I didn't notice much actual crab meat in the dish. Steamed Fresh Catch of the Day - 9/10 Perfectly steamed. The fish was flaky and tender. Could've used a bit more sauce to better complement the thickness of the fish cuts. Sun Dried Scallop Seafood Combination Egg White Fried Rice - 10/10 Amazing substitute dish. I'd come back just for this dish. Dessert - Red Bean Soup - 9/10 A comforting, traditional end to the meal. Not overly sweet, just right. Overall, this was a flawless experience from beginning to end, and we're so happy we chose this venue for our celebration. Highly recommend for any private event or banquet!

Yelp
The last couple of times, I did not like their dim sum. Went in on a weekend at noon and the food was not even warm. How is that even possible? To top it off, the food was bland. Although the place was average price, I think they should still provide quality dim sum for their guests.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid dim sum spot. A little more pricy than other spots but good quality. I will def return in the future!

Yelp
Several of us gathered here for lunch and enjoyed some really yummy Chinese food. I especially loved the wide noodles with beef short ribs and the prawns too were delicious. The decor is elegant and unique. The main dining room is huge, but I usually like a more intimate setting. However, there seems to be other smaller rooms available for that. Also, a lovely bar with lots of flowers.
google avatar

Yelp
Huge restaurant with pretty good vibes. We visited during Saturday 11am, no wait. Lot of dim sum carts approaching us, even before the tea was served. We had the sucking pig, it's crispy on the skin and tender on the inside. Taste is good but small portion and expensive for $37! The rest of the dimsum items were okay. We also had the hello kitty mango pudding for dessert.
google avatar

Janey L.

Yelp
We finally tried dimsum here. Wait was not too bad because the place is HUGE. Food is fast and good. They still use the push carts here so you can see all the food variety. The bad part sometimes is all the carts want your attention at one time and it's just too much. The cart ladies try to oversell you items. Please be aware of over tipping- there is an automatic 18% service fee added to your bill so your dim sum lunch can be quite pricey.

Yelp
Phenomenal service. Amazing food. Lovely atmosphere. Incredible value. Went with a group of 14 for Chinese new year lunch with a reservation we only made the night before. Huge space very tolerant of walk ins. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came to eat with some friends. Service is good, considering that the place is bustling. We came on a Friday and there was a small line waiting for the place to open. By the time we left many tables were full. Casual ambiance. Food was pretty good. I got all the classics: rice rolls with shrimp. Rice roll with fried dough (crispy compared to Koi palace). Shrimp har gow. Siu mai. Veggies. Several other dishes. Overall, food quality and flavors were good. There is an 18% automatic service charge regardless of table size. For the 4 of us the bill came out to be $180 with service and taxes.

Yelp
We were invited to a Chinese wedding banquet. The restaurant was beautiful and massive located in a mall. They served 12 dishes. Here's the list of my favorites: Suckling pig - Enjoyed the crispiness of the skin and tender meat. A beautiful presentation. It also came with a sugared sculpture but no one dared to break and eat it, lol! Peking duck - Great flavor and excellent. Perfect with pancake and hoisin sauce. Shark fin soup - Nice, rich, thick flavor. Sea Bass - My favorite. Tender and delectable taste. One of the best I've tried. Deep fried sesame balls - Always a winner for me. The runners up: Conch with scallops - First time trying conch. Found it too chewy but the scallops were good. Crab claws - Massive and a bit hard. Salt and pepper lobster - Tasted good but hard to eat the meat. Abalone - Like jellyfish but the pea shoots were delish. Fried rice - It had shredded fish. Fruit platter - Nicely presented. Red bean soup - I passed. The service was quick and accommodating. They regularly changed your plates. Overall, it was a great wedding banquet and we had a great evening.

Yelp
Price: $$$$ (higher end) Service 5 out of 5, super attentive (but not annoying) Food quality: 4 out of 5 Ambiance: 4.5 out of 5 Parking: huge parking lot in fron I've been here a few times for lunch and dinner, and I finally got to write a quick review for this restaurant. This Chinese restaurant is BIG in size (top 5 in the bay area, I think). Dimsum quality is 4 of 5 to my standard, and I am impressed for the items that I had during my last visit. Surely, I will go back to try other dishes for sure.

Yelp
This dim sum place is nicely decorated and spacious but it can get pretty crowded and noisy at lunch. I've been here for both the carts and also for group dinners. It's definitely quieter and easier to talk at night. The prices are high but I actually don't mind because the food is good! There's a huge selection and variety that comes around in the carts and also dishes to order off the menu. Even at peak times on weekends, I think the longest I've waited is 30 mins. And it's worth the wait because you can walk around the plaza and check out other stores. Also know there's a 18% service charge that's added to the check. I recommend coming here at least once to try!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
nice restaurant with plenty of seats. We waited about 20 minutes on a Saturday. Upon arrival you put your name on the waitlist and they provide a number. You wait outside until your number is called. There was a good variety of dim sum options. You can also order from menu. The waiters were busy and not as attentive as I preferred. The whole dining experience felt a bit rushed, but overall was good food.

Yelp
We used to go to the Dynasty at Vallco and now it's reopened at this location and it's beautiful and much bigger!!!! Excellent Dim Sum and Chinese food, Top notch service, Angel didn't miss a beat. Nice and quieter on a weekday. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Yelp
My family and I must've come on a good day and a great time so lucky us. Almost all of our food was piping hot and fresh. The service was also fantastic which isn't typical for dim sum. The restaurant is so beautiful and spacious. I made a comment to my sister that the plates are still white with no cracks. This a very good restaurant. The only thing I didn't care for was how they made the beef offal stew. It was not very flavorful but the texture was fine.
google avatar

Vanny K.

Yelp
Great food and good service. The place is also roomy and clean, with plenty of parking. The food is a little on the pricey side, but worth it.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I was hoping to have a authentic Chinese food for dinner, but I was disappointed, poor food, mediocre service, and rocket high prices! The only plus is the spacious seating area. I don't recommend this restaurant!
google avatar

Hendo L.

Yelp
Not much to say here. Food is alright, but wayyy overpriced. This is definitely way to expensive for a dim sum. There are dozens of other dim sum places in the bay area which is more affordable with the same quality. Even the more upscale and modern Koi Contempo in Cupertino is cheaper that this place. The place is nice and spacious but has bad echo, so it gets noisy. Service is typical old-school chinese. Don't expect smooth experience if you don't speak Mandarin here.
google avatar

Scarlett L.

Yelp
Haven't had a restaurant as Chinese as this one in a while in the US. The food is decent, although I can't say it's very authentic tasting, at least for the string beans and the beef (this one even tasted like American bbq sauce was added) but the Peking duck is not bad and the chicken was very good. I liked the service actually, the waiter/waitress probably only speak Chinese though, they were very attentive.

Yelp
We were visiting the bay area and our relatives suggested we go for dim sum at GD. I love dim sum, so of course I had no objections. I was just surprised that I didn't know about this place before as I am quite familiar with the area. Located in a relatively quiet neighborhood shopping center, I was very surprised, at upon enteringthe restaurant, how huge, spacious, and luxuriously grand this place looked on the inside.....quite impressive. Even more surprising was that we had arrived at around 11.30am and the place was not crowded at all.....meaning, no wait, like you'd typically find at other popular dim sum places. Ok, so we ordered mostly the usual dim sum items like the Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), Shu Mai (steamed pork and shrimp dumplings), Rice Noodle Rolls with Shrimp, Veggie Pork Tofu Skin Rolls, Crispy Fried Taro Puff with Pork, Pan Fried Turnip Cake, Garlic Fried Eggplant and String Beans, and a Crispy Chow Mein with Chicken....oh, and we ordered a plate of mixed delicacies......made up of marinated baby octopus, jelly fish, and pickled seaweed. Ok, I am quite critical of my dim sum and must say the quality of the dim sum here is very good! Everything came out tasting so fresh, tasted so delicious, and served HOT! I really enjoyed the food here. So, why only 3 stars? I never expect great service from any Chinese restaurant as they're not usually very friendly, always look like they're in a bad mood, but I usually don't bother about the service as long as the food is really good. Yes, the food here is very good...the service, not so much. And to make matters worse, they use the California mandate SB 1524 to force you to pay an estra 18% service charge (plus taxes) that is automatically added to your check....20% for banquets and private room dining). I definitely wouldn't mind tipping well if the service was good, but the service was definitely not worth 18%! The reason given for this service charge is so that they can provide "equitable wages" to all of their employees.....eeerm, isn't this the restaurant's responsibility? If you're going to charge an 18% service fee, then please give better service!

Amanda B.

Yelp
If I could give them 0 starts I would, went in with my boyfriend in the morning at 11:30am on a Monday the place was not that busy, once we got seated getting our tea was fast but after we filled the menu no one ever came to collect it and get our order, employees kept on passing us and nothing we waited for almost 30min and again nothing, we eventually just left the money for the tea we order and left, I would NOT recommend this place.

Yelp
Grand Dynasty is my go-to spot for dim sum. If you go at the right time, there's rarely a wait -- which is a big plus. The dining hall is huge and can easily accommodate large parties, making it perfect for family gatherings or weekend catch-ups. They serve dim sum every day -- a rare find nowadays -- and still roll out the traditional push carts on weekends for that old-school charm. The menu covers all the classic dim sum staples along with fresh seafood options if you're looking for something more substantial. Ambience-wise, it's a typical Chinese banquet-style dining hall but with more elegant decor -- clean, spacious, and a bit more polished than your average dim sum joint. Prices are reasonable and not as steep as some of the trendier spots. Food is solid and consistent -- not overly fancy, but always satisfying. Service is standard, and do note that a tip is automatically added to your bill. Reliable, no-fuss dim sum in a comfortable setting -- definitely a staple for me.

Yelp
I've come here so many times and it's always been a Cupertino Dimsum staple (since it was back at Vallco!!). Super spacious, long waits on the weekend but pretty empty during lunch on a Thursday! On the weekdays, you order off a sheet but they still push around carts on the weekend that you can pick from! Food is very solid and always a great spot for dim sum :) FOOD: Beef Chow Fun (9/10) - Super solid with tender pieces of beef, large slices of green onion, and well cooked noodles while not being too oily! Very solid bites every time!! Rice Rolls + String Bean in XO Sauce (8/10) - Really good flavor, crispy string beans with very good flavor! Really like the texture in the rice rolls Steamed Pork Ribs (8/10) - Tender pieces of pork ribs with fatty bits Phoenix Feet (8/10) - One of my favorite dimsum dishes, made super well here!! Shrimp Dumpling (5/10) - Usually it's pretty good here, but today the dumpling wrappers were extremely thick and stuck to the bottom. Still recommend trying! Chinese Broccoli w/ Oyster Sauce (7/10) - Fresh vegetables well cooked and pairs very well with the oyster sauce. Turnip Cake (4/10) - Not the best here!! Steamed Rice Roll w/ Shrimp (8/10) - Plump pieces of shrimp with juicy, smooth steamed rice noodles Steamed Rice Roll w/ BBQ Pork (7/10) - Still good with BBQ pork, but prefer the shrimp much more Steamed Rice Roll w/ Beef (6/10) - The beef flavor is a bit too strong for the rice roll

Yelp
The service was excellent--definitely five stars. Even the food was bad , I need to thumb up for the service . Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. My family of four went for dim sum, and my brother, who was the only one to eat the congee, ended up with stomach issues for the rest of the day. The congee was very thin and watery, with hardly any ingredients in it. The rest of the food looked unappealing, as if it had been sitting out for days. The sticky rice wrap was unappetizing, and the beef tripe had no flavor at all. As someone who is Cantonese and values authentic cuisine, this experience was deeply disappointing. It's clear this place has gone downhill. We won't be coming back.

Yelp
Honestly some of the best dim sum I have had in the South Bay. I recommend their Chicken Feet, Egg Tarts, Suckling Pig, Chow Fun, and Gai Lan. Very traditional style and good quality all around. Flavored very well! Service is quick and fast. They still have cart ladies that come to every table too :) The dessert here is really top notch!! DEFINITELY order the egg tarts and custard buns! Incredible. They also had various jellies like mango, osmanthus, coconut, etc. The one dish that fell short for me is IRONICALLY my favorite dim sum item (normally): Shrimp Cheung Fan. This dish is supposed to have succulent shrimp wrapped in rice noodles and soaked in sweet soy sauce. However, the shrimp HERE was overcooked and the noodle had an odd texture. Very mediocre.

Spring C.

Yelp
It was very busy, and the staff seemed rushed, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal. Some of the food was good, but some dishes, like the xiao long bao, weren't quite up to par, the top portion is almost unbeatable. Overall, I'd give it a 3 out of 5, mainly because the experience felt a bit too rushed, almost like being on a battlefield, and it is a Saturday. In order to fit more tables, they get rid of the traditional food cart which discounted the dim sum Experian . Environment is packed not good

Yelp
We were seated immediately. The dinning hall is huge. Big enough to host events, parties celebrations or weddings. There are private dinning rooms as well. There was live fish tanks and an impressive selection of dim sum items. The salt and pepper shrimp were delicious. The staff always attentive and quick. The tip is built automatically add to the bill at 18%.

Yelp
Had a pretty good time overall, walked in and got greeted right away which was nice, sometimes places just let you stand there awkwardly but not this one, everyone seemed to be in a good mood which kinda rubbed off on me too, the person who took our order was really polite and seemed to know the menu well, didn't rush us and even helped when we asked about a couple things we weren't sure about, the food came out in a decent amount of time and honestly tasted better than I was expecting, flavors were balanced and you could tell they didn't just throw it together, you could taste the effort if that makes sense, not overly fancy or anything but really solid cooking, what stood out to me most was just how nice everyone was without being too pushy or fake friendly, felt like they were just being themselves and that made it more relaxed, I think it's a good spot if you just want good food and to be treated kindly without too much fuss, definitely not perfect but more good than bad for sure.

Yelp
Had a big family lunch here and they handled it well. Food was nothing memorable but everything was quite good. Main dining room is done up nicely, private rooms continue the them, and service was pretty good. Twin whole steamed fish, walnut prawns, beef and veggies, snow peas, shrimp fried rice-- as said, everything was tasty. We went with a pretty normal menu, nothing crazy, maybe if we'd gone with a different menu they would have done more to shine?

Yelp
Easter dim sum lunch for the win! Our family of 7 had a really fun experience and enjoyed the variety of dim sum. If you haven't tried dim sum from carts- I suggest you try this place first. Very helpful, even on a busy day. I don't know all the names of the dim sum but our favorites are the basics: ~Shrimp, hargow(?) ~Beef crepe, beef rolled into a noodle sheet (lol) ~Chinese broccoli ~Steam bun with bbq pork ~Steam bun with custard - sweet/dessert ~Egg custard - sweet/dessert ~Sticky rice From the menu, we always order: ~Whole roasted duck - sooo gooood ~Salty fish fried rice with chicken - the name says it all. Highly recommend. This can be a meal by itself. ~Honey walnut prawns - hubby's favorite! What to expect: ~During busy hours - parking can be challenging even though it's a decent sized shopping center. ~The restaurant is massive. They have other private dining rooms as well. They do have private events. Recommend reservations just in case. ~Staff is everywhere, just flag them down, get their attention if you need anything. ~Full menu is available, even when they're serving dim sum ~Dim sum carts have different varieties. Just ask for what you're looking for. It's also ok to look and see what's actually in each steamer basket. ~Bring a group! The more the merrier and the more dim sum you can try!

Yelp
Went here on a Sun around noon, which is a bit later for dim summers! Loved that there were people ready at the front to attend to you - handed out a paper with info such as time of arrival, # in party, and the ticket #. There was also a monitor showing the following categories: ticket # and # in party, so you weren't guessing as to when you'd be called. The service was great. It was extra helpful that the staff walked around to monitor if anyone needed anything when the carts passed by. The review is based more on the food, which was meh. Ordered our usual: har gow, shumai, tripe, egg yolk bun, soy sauce chow mein, bean curd wrapped rolls, xlb and shrimp rice rolls. Overall, the food lacked flavor. The egg yolk buns weren't what was expected. I was expecting for the yolk to be runny and the bun to be hot. The soy sauce chow mein had no soy flavor. There was no oomph to either the shumai, har gow, or the shrimp rice rolls (had a weird mushy texture). The tripe and bean curd rolls were good at least. Won't be find back but we got to try it.

Yelp
Dim sum gives me SIU MAI-ch joy. You dont understand. I LOVE dim sum. And it makes me happy I found this place. I know ya'll complaining about the pricing. But yo... if the quality is better. Im all for it. .:: Food ::. Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll $9.98: HEY, tell me where else you find churng fun like this man. THIN rice noodle roll, the biggest shrimp I've ever seen on a churng fun. Usually the places I go to, the shrimp is so small, and the rice roll is OVERLY thick. I thought they nailed this. Shrimp Dumpling (Har Gow) $9.98: good size, juicy big filling, thin translucent wrap. Chicken Claws Black Bean Sauce $6.98: I judge a lot of palces for their chicken feet. Well seasoned, juicy pieces. Black Truffle Cod Fish Dumpling $11.68: my first time trying this dimsum as I dont see it elsewhere. The black truffle really elevates the taste on this. Deep Fried Shrimp Balls $11.68: Crunchy exterior encrusting the shrimp ball. Fried Dough Rice Noodle Rolls $7.98: Well made. Translucent wrap, fried 炸兩 always gives a pleasant texture contrast. Steamed Custard Piggy Bun $7.98: The bun was a bit luke warm which was a bit disappointing. But cute little piggy buns with custard. Swan Durian Puff (3pcs) $13.68: cant go wrong, warm puffs enclosed with durian. Chrysanthemum $5.16: tea price for 2 people. .:: Service / Ambiance / Parking ::. We came on a Wednesday around 12:30pm. Got seated immediately for a table of 2. Mark what you want on the menu, theres description/name with pictures which should be helpful for those who arent familiar. **WARNING: AUTOMATIC 18% service fee added*** Our host was very nice and so were all the sweet ladies who brought the dishes out. The place is def very fancy. Very modern and new. Upscale dim sum indeed. Easy parking as it's in a parking lot, free.

Yelp
I have been here numerous times (for lunch and dinner). The GOOD: Dim sum is delicious and staff are super friendly. They have a good selection for dinner. I recommend order al la carte vs set menu. The BAD: If you come on weekend, prepare to wait even with a reservation during peak dim sum hours. For holidays, you can only order their set menu (which was ehhh)

Yelp
I'm a rather picky eater, and came to this one specifically before Grand Dynasty moved to West San Jose (talk about when Vallco was still open and there was still a lot of space left). The food was honestly meh to okay -- here's my take on this restaurant post-pandemic: Food: 3/5 The portions of these dishes got significantly smaller compared to the last time I went when they were last open in Cupertino. This time, we got the BBQ platter with pork and marinated ranch chicken, giant clam, marinated duck tongue, seafood pan fried noodles, satay dungness crab vermicelli, and mixed vegetables. The broth of the duck tongues was a little bland, and the bbq platter was a little too small -- I was hoping for a bigger portion honestly. The seafood pan fried noodle wasn't even seasoned enough, and the sautéed vegetables had too much garlic in them. The crab vermicelli had too much satay in them and it overcarried the smell of the crab, which made it almost overly impossible to finish. The only thing I thought was good was the dessert -- Service: 2/5 Barely any communication. For a typical Chinese/dim sum restaurant, they're not really gonna talk to you all that much unless you need something. However, the service we got showed absolute unprofessionalism -- they took my plate without even asking me first and I was still in the middle of finishing my portion.... like please do better. Atmosphere: 4/5 The only thing that I thought was quite well was how spacious it was -- considering before they opened, it was a Rite Aid with really dark lighting. I seemed to be impressed with the overall design of the place, and honestly, I give them props because it looks brand new and it looks so much better than the old Grand Dynasty before they closed in Cupertino. I'd come here for more social events and weddings, but not for a regular dinner. What throws me off is the fact that they include an 18% auto-gratuity charge... which is insane honestly. I don't even know if it's legal at this point, but I'm only going to come here once in a while.

Yelp
Delicious food and great variety of food. Service was amazing. The decor is more upscale than your regular dim sum place.

Yelp
Overall: 4.5/5 (dine in) Came here for Christmas lunch for a party of 7. The wait wasn't that bad. They have a great line system where you get a number and they show your status on the board as well as call your number + your party number on the microphone so you can hear. Grand Dynasty is HUGE and looks like an upscale dim sum restaurant. Also seemed like a great place to host large events like weddings. They also have private dining rooms for smaller parties. The only things to consider were that the food took awhile to come out and the prices are higher than your typical dim sum restaurants. Food from the cart was pretty fresh, and the people working the carts weren't pushy. The dim sum pricing is on the front menu page: S = $5.98, M = $6.98, L = $7.98, X = $9.98, K = $11.68, P = $13.68, SP = $15.68) Jasmine Tea ($1.98/PP): The jasmine tea was really good. A01 Steamed Shrimp Dumpling (X): Came with 4 pieces of fat har gow. Generous amount of shrimp and tasty too! A02 Shrimp & Pork Dumpling (L): Came with 4 pieces of siu mai. You know I love siu mai and always order it. Also really good here but not the best I had. A06 Mushroom & Vegetable Dumpling (L): Came with 4 pieces that were pretty big. The primary taste was shiitake mushroom but it's not umami or anything so I would skip it. A09 Bean Curd Roll With Pork & Shrimp (L): Each order came with 3 rolls that they cut in half. The bean curd roll is steamed and has a crunchy texture (from the black fungus mushroom). Nobody at the table was a fan. C01 Baked BBQ Pork Buns With Sugar Crust (L): Came with 3 buns which they cut in half for you. The buns were not overly hard and was the perfect temperature & texture. The BBQ pork was good but doesn't have that umami punch I was expecting. For the price, I would skip it. C02 Bean Curd Skin Fried Shrimp Rolls (X): Okay. I would rather get this as part of the Vietnamese broken rice dish (com tam). D01 Shrimp Rice Noodle Rolls (X): Okay. Skip for the price. D03 BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Rolls (L): Better than the shrimp rice noodle and had more flavor. F22 Honey Glazed Walnut Prawn (SP): Came with only 6 shrimps so we felt ripped off. It was okay. Depending on the location, Panda Express does it better. F30 Pork Dumpling in Hot Spicy Sauce (K): Eh. Nothing special. Would skip for the price. There are other dim sum restaurants that makes significantly better pork dumplings. F32 Salted Egg Yolk Fried Pumpkin Stick (K): Nobody in my family liked it but I thought it wasn't bad. The salted egg wasn't overpowering but I'm not sure it complimented the pumpkin. H03 Roasted Crispy Pork Belly (SP): Each dish came with 3 blocks of pork belly with each block cut into 3. It was better than expected but very fatty. H04 Peking Duck Slices With Sesame Scones (P): This was very different with the crunchy season scones. I think it needed a bit more hoisin sauce but it was still good. Although interesting, I think I prefer the soft white buns more.

Yelp
this rating is for Chinese New Year set menu only. it was over priced and terrible to say the least - costed us each $127 and there were 4 of us (20% gratuity already included) for these items here. it would have been ok if it was $200ish. every dish was like luke warm and even fried rice was tasteless and kind hard.......one of the friend came here for a la carte menu and thut everything tasted good so thats why we came here for the CNY menu. these were def mass produced and was jus kept on a warmer of some sort cuz everything came super fast. for $500+, i expected a little more than this. crispy pork was all fat no meat, and seaweed was def store bought. ONE lobster for 4, other places would give 2. yikes! sooo disappointed!!!!

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday, and it was really crowded. I've been here 3-4 times before and had good experiences, but the service this time was disappointing. We ordered several dim sum dishes, but some were mistakenly brought to our table twice. The staff only took them back after we pointed it out. A couple of dishes took way too long, and the siu mai still hadn't arrived even when we were about to pay and leave. The whole process felt very unorganized. As for the food, it was pretty average. The roast duck was on the fatty side, and the char siu was too tough. The rest was okay, but nothing stood out. Given the experience, I'd probably choose another place next time.

Yelp
I have not been to this restaurant for dimsum since its opening. Now that Grand Dynasty is fully in its groove, I am pleasantly surprised. We showed up on a weekend at 1pm for lunch. The foyer was empty which is never a good sign. However, that was misleading as we walked in to what was pretty much a full house. The main hall reminded me of the better, fancier dimsum places in HK. The energy was vibrant and ambiance is pretty swanky. The service was good - I was greeted 3 times on the way to my table which was unexpected. The servers with the carts were pleasant and helpful (shocked). They weren't pushy or too indifferent. While there were a couple who could not speak or understand Cantonese, this is par for the course in the South Bay. Overall the dimsum was very good. The beef offal was just the right level of tenderness with a good selection of different organs. The Chinese chive pan fried dumplings were tasty with a decent amount of chives. The chicken feet could have been a bit more "fall of the bone," but that's just a personal preference. The taste was very good. Anyway, I'm not going to go through every item we ordered. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to sample the dimsum staples of hargow or shiumai. But the food we ordered and sampled were tasty and pretty authentic. Kudos to the management for doing a good job running the place. It has been operating for a few years and still looks brand new - not at all run down. And it seems the service has only gotten better. I didn't pay for lunch so I'm not sure if the prices are inline with the experience. I'm sure it wasn't cheap, but the overall experience (ambiance and food) was on point.

Yelp
I haven't seen a Chinese "banquet hall" restaurant in this area for a long time; perhaps they went out of fashion or the pandemic affected them very deeply. Nonetheless, it is enjoyable to be able to dine again in an atmosphere like this. For our large party (around 15) centered around the table, it did feel like we all were only able to eat small morsels of each dish, and that is understandable. Coming to around $60 per person, I felt satiated but not quite full. We were served very politely, and overall, the food was enjoyable; it just didn't hit that point where I thought it was amazing.

Yelp
came here for my baby brother's graduation lunch. personally I think that the parking needs to be better but oh well Food tasted really good and the portion size was pretty good too. We were seated instantly, even though we were a party of six. Overall we all had a really great time and would definitely come back. I think this place is much better compared to other dim sum places.
