Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte (Viareggio, Tuscany) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Apparently the prince prefers the coast. Though the hotel is called the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte, it stands on the central promenade in the picturesque town of Viareggio, on the coast of northern Tuscany. One glance at the building and you know what the place is about, its ornate 1920s façade rising in all its splendor above Viareggio’s long sandy beach and the Tyrrhenian Sea just beyond. In short, it’s a classic European resort-hotel in a classic European resort-town." - Tablet Hotels

Epitome of hospitality, absolutely stunning decor, beauty and art. One of the most luxurious places we have ever stayed. So glad we found this beautiful piece of gem in this vibrant seaside town Viareggio. We had dinner poolside with the most amazing view. Seafood was so delicious and fresh. Excellent service. Lovely Martina at front desk, beautiful and cordial and helpful. Breakfast buffet is unbelievable.

Stunning gem of a place in Varieggio, along the beautiful coast.|Ultimate luxury in every sense. Most important gracious hospitality. amazing restaurent terrace with sea view, most delicious grilled seafood. Brunch is out of this word with variety including sushi bar and all kinds of delicacy. Rooftop pool is absolutely stunning. So happy we found this piece of heaven and didn’t stay in touristy places like Portofino. |Entire staff and management team are like a family, from our first encounter with lovely Martina who ushered us into a beautiful drawing room for the smoothest seamless check in and showed us the most beautiful suite, with every possible modern amenity and decor. So many pieces of art and sculptor you feel like you are in a museum.|Chef Giuseppe Mancini has created the most delectable culinary heaven and he stands around his lovely breakfast buffet like a proud papa.

This hotel exceeded all my expectations in every possible way from our arrival to our departure. The hotel provides opulent surroundings, rooftop pool and restaurants with delicious food. The breakfast is the best I have ever experienced in my life. Offering a multitude of choices from sushi, scampi, cheeses from different regions in Italy and France, delectable sweets, fruits, several different breads and egg choices. The tea station was also a lovely surprise. Chef Giuseppe also went around offering freshly made ricotta to guests. The room was spotless and roses were given every night at turndown service. The bathroom products were amazing and the slippers were plush. The balcony had a wonderful view of the promenade and beach. The hotel bikes also were a pleasant surprise to ride along the promenade and see the endless beach clubs. Our stay at this beautiful hotel will be forever cherished. Grazie Mille!

Beautiful, artsy 5 star hotel with wonderful breakfast (won best breakfast in Italy for last two years). Great location with easy access to beach. Staff all wonderful - we enjoyed meeting Vicky, Abigail and small blonde lady who worked in two star Michelin restaurant on ground floor). Nice roof top pool and good meal at the Michelin restaurant. If I’m being nit picky, I’d say I found the room/ building fragrance too overpowering. I also didn’t like the fact the duvet didn’t have a cover on it (just one flat sheet above and another below an uncovered duvet). Gym room was tiny and the elevator space also very small.

Just a great experience from start to finish. We arrived slightly early and the hotel had our room ready within half an hour with an upgrade to boot. We were travelling with our 8 year old grandson and the amenities provided for him were top notch - I won’t spoil the surprise for other children but the Principe have kids very well catered for. And then there was the rooftop pool - wow! This was a fabulous space and made even more special by Vicki who worked like a Trojan up there making sure everyone had a great time. She provided towels, water, menus and frankly everything you could want!|The food and beverage offer was also first class - the breakfast lived up to the hype and surpassed anything I’ve ever seen and a sunset dinner on the rooftop bistro was similarly awesome. The only blip was a couple of dishes in the rooftop bar at lunch which were only average but were swiftly forgotten amidst the high standards enjoyed everywhere else. |The staff were uniformly excellent and really couldn’t do enough for you.

Best hotel we have stay in Italy actually one of the best we have stayed in the world, especially for service. Our experience at the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism, ensuring every aspect of our stay was impeccable. The breakfast was a culinary masterpiece, offering an extensive array of high-quality dishes that catered to every palate. It truly felt like a feast fit for royalty, with each item prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. The breakfast is shocking in the most delightful way!! We will never forget the breakfast. Ever! It wins our best ever in the world!! The rooftop bar provided a stunning panoramic view of Viareggio and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Sipping cocktails while watching the sunset from this vantage point was an experience we’ll cherish forever. The hotel’s blend of classic elegance and modern amenities created a luxurious atmosphere that made our stay incredibly comfortable. Every detail, from the decor to the service, was thoughtfully curated to provide guests with an exceptional experience. We wholeheartedly recommend the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte to anyone seeking a memorable and indulgent stay in Italy.

I had an exceptional stay at Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte—truly one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding, hands down the best I’ve ever had, even compared to top-tier stays at places like the Four Seasons and The Ritz. The variety, quality, and attention to detail were second to none. The rooms were fabulous, elegantly designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, with a refined mix of classic luxury and modern convenience. Stunning view from the window was a highlight each morning. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, going out of their way to make sure every moment was perfect. From the front desk to the breakfast team, their hospitality felt warm, genuine. The location is also ideal, just steps from the promenade and beach, with easy access to restaurants and attractions. Fantastic rooftop pool, balcony, overall the hotel offers a truly memorable and relaxing experience. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the bar prices, which felt a bit high. That said, the overall experience more than made up for it. Highly recommend

The rooms, the breakfast and the Michelin restaurant are amazing. The breakfast is as great as they say with a lot of quality products. The rooms look renovated and are beautiful. The chef of the restaurant downstairs is very attentive to details, he was very careful to adjust the menu to our intolerances and the waiters were kind. The only bad thing was the pool restaurant. Do not order there if you don’t want the stone hard bread and hair in your food. I’m genuinely surprised how an establishment that takes care of so many details allows to serve a food by the pool of such a low quality. Otherwise it’s an excellent hotel and restaurant, make sure to eat with chef Mancino present.

Yelp
The pros: Service in EVERY AREA of the hotel was 5 stars. Our Maitre D' said it best "we want the spirit of our service to match the manner of our service." The room was matchless, expect the normal wear and tear of a older hotel, we opted for the suite, good decision. I would visit here any time of year. Not just the summer, as I write this a thunderstorm rages in the ocean across the street. I am a steam room, (Turkish bath), aficionado, theirs is the best so far, (compare to Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara). The staff was matchless throughout the hotel. The breakfast was more than expected, They quickly learned how I liked my coffee and would bring it to me as I arrived, much to my delight. The food was more $ than I expected, however - it was less $ than it should have been, our best meal in Italy. The con: The spa needed some mild training, (I think if my Italian was better or their English was a piccolo better it would have been easier, but the facility was impressive. Expect function over form.

Yelp
We stay for a week until July 20,2018 We had a one bedroom suite. Rooms are okay, service is not. I think the management have to do some changes before they have other unhappy customers. For examples , the tv on the bedroom doesn't work properly, the entrance door handle was loose for a long time until broke done completely. We went to the pool and order coffee and the biggest surprise ( never in other 5 starts hotel uraound the world) after we give the bar tender the room number we had to sign first before the coffe was serve. Just doesn't make any sense. For the car parking we were told $29 per day. On the bill was $39 per day, the explanation was that the car was inside in the parking, not outside. That's okay if we were told up front and we can deside if he have choice.

Yelp
This hotel is lovely. The view from the rooftop bar is breathtaking and this location is perfect for walking and sightseeing. Their attention to our questions or needs was immediate. We will definitely stay there again!
