Grand Hotel Union Eurostars (Ljubljana, Slovenia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels
"Since 1905, Grand Hotel Union has stood at the heart of Ljubljana’s civic and cultural life. Its Vienna Secession–style façade remains a local landmark, while interiors feature high ceilings, Art Nouveau flourishes, and updated rooms with modern amenities. Guests have included Queen Elizabeth II, the Dalai Lama, and Bill Clinton, all drawn to its central location, elegant spaces, and storied Grand Union Café. With a wellness centre, a pool overlooking the castle, and the city’s largest event hall, the hotel remains a pillar of Ljubljana hospitality." - Tablet Hotels
Location was perfect. I booked this hotel after much consideration and am giving it 5 stars!!! My husband and I went for four days and it is in the city centre in picturesque old Ljubljana. Our room faced the cobblestone street and castle. We faintly heard the church bells Iand t was perfect for exploring the city centre. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. We loved the authentic Christmas market that was a 3 min walk from this lovely hotel. I don't usually review hotels but loved our stay. The staff were friendly and amenities were great with a pool and gym. I will definitely be coming back and will only stay at this hotel while in Ljubljana.

Everything was amazing. Loved it. They upgraded our room for free, staff was so nice, room huge, breakfast amazing, great location right near the center, great food nearby, wonderful breakfast. We could see the big pink cathedral from our room. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful and immaculate rooms. The breakfast is complete. The personal is very nice and helpful. There are shops and a barber at the lobby.
But the swimmingpool is too small to be shared between two hotels. Therefore, you need to book your visit.

Superb hotel located spot in the middle of the city. Great rooms and spa. Friendly staff. There are 2 adjoining hotels, so make sure you know which one you are staying in. The one we stayed at - Eurostars - apprar to be the more upscale, and was great.

My stay at the hotel was excellent. The staff were wonderful, especially Mr. Tomi. He was extremely helpful, spoke English very well, and took the time to explain all the details about the city and its tourist attractions. His cooperation and kindness made my experience even better. The room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast was enjoyable. I truly appreciate the efforts of the hotel management for maintaining such a high standard of service. I look forward to returning in the near future.

We stayed here for 2 nights while on a tour. The rooms are very roomy with a TV, desk and a refrigerator but not many decorations. Our room had 2 twin beds pushed together to make a king and it had balcony. The shower in the bathroom is not totally enclosed so care was needed to no have the water spray everywhere. The hotel location was excellent for walking to the Old City, walking to the Castle and to the many restaurants along the river. It was especially nice walking down to the pedestrian way at night on the river when all of the lights are on. As to breakfast, the buffet was very good with many choices. There was a specialty coffee machine too.

Excellent hotel! I thought our room was a great size. We had a king sized bed and was very comfortable. I enjoyed the breakfast here very much! It was large variety! Very good location too! Remember that cars cannot pick up or drop you off right in front. You will get dropped at the hotel next door.

This is a more modern version of the more grand and old fashioned one next door - Eurostar Union hotel. It doesn't look as impressive on the outside but the rooms are large and have balconies - although if you face the back and sides there's no view other than windows of other buildings around it - 12th tier. The interior has a hollow center design so from the top 9th floor you can see all the way down to the second floor which is the only guest floor that has couch seatings in the spacious public area. Room has wood floors, lower ceiling as it's not an old building. Safe doesn't work. A few drinks in minibar which is unnecessary. Lighting good. Bed very firm without much padding. Good quality sheets and pillows - very good neck support. Good shower in bath tub. Small tv but enough desk and floor surface to spread things out - only thing is not to put things you don't want heated on the vents over the fridge. Location is very good right on the other side of the bridge to old town - very walkable. Small pool and two tiny saunas that can only fit 3 (there is also a VIP room with its own sauna). Could get really crowded (with line outside sauna) and not relaxing when the weather is bad and everyone is indoors. But the small pool area does have large slanted picture windows - perfect to watch the pouring rain. You have to make a reservation although it doesn't seem to help with the crowd. Breakfast is ok, not fancy but a good spread. Not the best sausages. Plastic packaged madeleines are not bad. No fresh juices.
