Grand Hotel Union Eurostars

Really enjoyed this hotel! The rooms (at least ours on the 3rd floor) are modern and spacious and nice modern bathroom. Well located one elk from the three bridges city center. Staff is superb with special call outs to Tara and Dejan at the front desk, so helpful and personal in their efforts to assist. Ljubljana is a spectacular town, lots to see, superb restaurants including "Most" Restaurant, among others. The 1 hr river cruise from. the Boat that departs from the same side of the river as the hotel but up river just before the 2nd bridge was totally worth it (wine & beer and light bites. But, we will stay at the Grand Union Eurostars again. Also had coveted parking!

We spent three nights here and found the hotel to be perfect for our requirements. It was nicely located and within easy walking distance from the city centre. |Check-in was friendly and efficient, and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The only negative thing was the position of the shower over the bath. I likened the decor to something from a Gerry Anderson TV series. |The breakfast selection was good and better than anticipated. |Overall, a good place to stay and I would use again if ever in Ljubljana

This is a 5 star hotel in a 5 star location a short walk to the city center and close to the train station! On the checkin the young lady kindly without being asked upgrade our room to a large room with a balcony, great view and nice sofa. The room has a real kimg bed which is the first ive seen in europe; all the other hotels have pushed together two twins. The bed is very comftorable with amazing soft linens and pillows. The breakfast buffet this morning was delicious and had a great selection. After a great day in the city center I stopped back at the reservation desk and the same exceptional young lady from the day before kindly extended my checkout tommorrow to 1 pm! When I arrived back to my room there was a beautiful choclate dessert waiting on the table for me as a birthday treat! The hotel must have pulled my birthday from my passport. Very attentive service. I cannot give this hotel a high enough rating !

A modern hotel providing everything expected from a 4* hotel. |Excellent breakfast buffet.|Some improvements needed to make this a return stay: our beds were too soft, you roll into the middle. Airconditioning was just about adequate in early june. Toilettries were provided but only 1 toothbrush, 1 shower cap, etc. Odd for a double room. The same for drinks, only one ordinary tea bag, one coffee, one mint tea. No milk. There is a fridge so we bought our own milk. Cups provided, no saucers.|Dressing gowns and slippers provided. Spa has to be booked. The spa consists of a rather cool pool and a warm, not hot, sauna. Very limited space but adequate. Positioning of hotel is excellent. A few steps from the main square and a 5 minute walk from bus and train stations. Reception team all have excellent english and were very friendly and helpful. Small book swap available. We were able to keep our room slightly longer than main check out time which was extremely helpful.

What an amazing find! Every member of the hotel staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful from the very moment of checking in. We had a family two bedroom suite which was perfect and spotlessly clean. The location was incredible, directly in the heart of the town with all attractions, restaurants and bars only a few minutes walk. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to all my friends!

I stayed here for five nights for a conference with a number of colleagues. The hotel is well located just steps from one of the main squares of the city and within 15 minutes walk of all the main sights of Ljubljana. It is an older building, and you feel that in certain places, though my room (and especially the bathroom) felt very up-to-date. The highlight was the breakfast buffet which was far above average -- freshly cooked eggs, wide selection of fruits and breads. The hotel staff were very helpful. The only slight drawback was the (at times) painfully slow elevators.

We were four male friends on our annual weekend away. This hotel was excellent for us as it could provide twin-bedded rooms. Location was excellent, rooms were large and clean, shower was very good, staff were helpful and the breakfast was good, if very busy.|Only drawback is that they don't have a proper bar.

Just completing a 7 night stay at this hotel. The rooms are modern and housekeeping was excellent, keeping the room spotless and supplying us with clean towels, sheets and bottled water. We had a small refrigerator. Breakfast is excellent with a variety of options. Staff is very helpful and friendly. There is no AC during the work fee months and our room was a bit stuffy so we had to crack the door to keep cool. Unfortunately there are some crazy church bells that are a bit bothersome. I’m glad I had my white noise machine. ||The hotel is centrally located, close to bars, restaurants, central market, the castle. All are within walking distance. The city is very charming. There is a grocery store around the corner and a pharmacy on Presseran square.
