Review: Hyatt Regency Bali, Bali - SilverKris

"Opened in 1973 as the island’s first international five-star resort, this long-established Sanur property retains old-world Balinese charm after a recent renovation, with guest areas by Geoffrey Bawa and a teak-and-bamboo lobby designed by Kerry Hill. The grounds feel overtaken by nature—giant gardens and ponds host over 500 species of flora and fauna—while the grand pool complex (two adult pools plus a dedicated kids' pool) is shaded by mature frangipani and accented by replica stone statues. Situated on the main street and steps from local restaurants, boutiques and surf and diving schools, the hotel also offers a 500m private beach. Its Shankha Spa, the largest wellness facility in the area, stretches across nine hectares and features a 15m reclining Ganesha statue, an adults-only pool, 10 spa villas, a sauna, steam room, 24-hour fitness centre and a kombucha bar; highlighted treatments include the Synchronised Four Hands Abhyangam massage and immersive Watsu aqua therapy, where guests are submerged in warm water (94–98°F) for shiatsu pressure-point work and assisted stretching." - Win Russel

Was told by a friend who’d stay the previous year about resort. |Trusted his experience and advice when booking our trip. ||We stayed for 6 nights in the pirate themed room with my two young boys. |The rooms were spacious and easy to manoeuvre. |Our adjoining king bed room was perfect too. |Ground floor with garden views in the south village, it took a little bit to navigate the resort but you get use to it. ||Pools are amazing. Staff are friendly. |Service is very reasonable considering the amount of people in one place. ||As a larger group we would also walk across the road from resort to the Bali collection for both shopping and cheaper food and drink. ||The restaurants inside resort are amazing but can add up quickly due to the area. |Next trip I will be looking at an all inclusive package with food and drink. ||Highly recommend grand Hyatt |Highly recommend becoming a grand Hyatt member for future benefits.

As a long-time Hyatt member who has stayed at many Hyatt properties around the world , including Bali. I can confidently say this specific Grand Hyatt truly impressed me. This was my first time staying here, and it is one of the most beautiful Hyatt properties I have experienced. The beachfront location is stunning, with direct beach access and a massive, beautiful pool that makes the entire property feel like a resort paradise. I stayed in a room with club access, which I highly recommend. The rooms here are noticeably newer, larger, and more modern compared to the other Hyatt in Bali (Sanur). While I have enjoyed my past stays at the Sanur Hyatt, this property definitely stands out for its updated design and spacious interiors. If you’re looking for a more modern and elevated room experience, this is the Hyatt you want to choose. Another big plus is the location. It’s very close to Bali Collection, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants, shops, and cafés, and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service. After a long international flight from the US, the manageable distance from the airport made a huge difference and added to the comfort of the stay. The staff were exceptional warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it and will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Bali.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Bali twice earlier this year — once in late February and again in March with my family — and returned once more in the last week of November2025 . Each stay confirmed the same impression: this resort is vast, beautifully maintained, and consistently welcoming. The staff are unbelievably kind — almost too kind in the best way possible — as if they stepped straight out of paradise. The property itself is enormous, the atmosphere is calm, and the pricing is surprisingly reasonable for a resort of this scale. It genuinely feels like a small piece of heaven. The babysitters are highly professional and made our stay much easier. I strongly recommend not choosing the all-inclusive option; the weather is hot, you’ll be outdoors most of the time, and you simply won’t have enough time or appetite to make use of it. Just book any plan that gives you access to the club lounge — that’s more than enough. This is an ideal place for families: no loud music, no inappropriate scenes, and a very relaxed, respectful environment. A special thank-you to Mr. Ari at the Pool Bar, whose kindness and attentiveness truly stood out. Staff like him elevate the entire experience.

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful place. All the staff are amazing and friendly and just so welcoming. The hotel grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed our veranda room (a bit noisy on the ground floor as we had a family above with furniture moved around early in the morning). We were All Inclusive with Luxury Escapes. We can't say enough about the quality of the food - Nampu and Salsa Verde are as good as any high quality restaurant in NZ.||The cocktails were lovely and good quality too. Not all drinks and food are included in the All Inclusive package but this information is available on the website.||The gym area is very modern and well decked out with sauna and cold plunge pool||Some cons for us. We are two people in our 50s who went without children. There is no adult pool with a bar area so you are in with all the kids and families. There is a pool for adults but it is in the gym with no bar. We didn't like having to book for dinner as this takes away spontaneity. ||Overall we had an amazing time but would not recommend for a romantic holiday or for couples without kids who want some space.

AMAZING experience here !! The whole resort is taken care of so well. The food and drinks were always tasty !! The staff here are next level. Our housekeeper ( fary) was the nicest most helpful gentleman. He took such pride in his work and was so gracious. Wish we had staff like him back home. The Hyatt here should count themselves lucky to have this gentleman representing them.

There’s something about the Grand Hyatt that just makes you instantly feel relaxed. The location, facilities throughout and pool are all great. Rooms easily cater for younger families of four. The food is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend booking an all-inclusive package - you’ll enjoy the value it delivers. Then there’s the incredible staff. They honestly are so incredibly lovely and generous. This is a must book for families of all sizes and ages.

We stayed 7 nights with an all inclusive package and found the experience really great. Few minor nuances to share - not complaints per say but things to consider. If you're wanting a quiet or adult only time, this may not be for you as there were alot of children. The air-conditioning in our room was poor but thankfully a fan was provided. The restaurants and all meals were outstanding. The staff and service was fantastic. Overall 5 stars and will stay again.

Just had a 7 day Luxury Escape package here and it was amazing ! Resort is vast and extremely well maintained. Staff are very helpful and extremely polite. The all inclusive package is definitely worth the money.|A few very minor issues - the room a/c is not great and we needed a fan for our entire stay and no drinks are available and served near the adult pool. It is also a very family orientated resort so if you do not like lots of kids this place is not for you. It did not worry us.|The Japanese restaurant is world class and you must visit !!
