"Part of Oriental Plaza, the country’s largest commercial complex, this curved glass tower is "one of the places to be in Beijing." Its "excellent location" places it minutes from the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the Wangfujing night market. Along with floor-to-ceiling windows, rooms have wood accents, goose-down duvets, marble bathrooms, and Chinese artwork. Some suites have abstract art and designer lighting, while the Presidential Suite has its own sauna. "Don’t miss the best Peking duck in their Made in China restaurant." Staff are "very efficient."

"With abalone as its self-proclaimed theme, Top Feast not only serves a variety of dishes made with the treasured shellfish, but also displays an impressive collection of dried abalones from around the world. The butler will customise the menu to diners' liking. Try the chargrilled abalone with goose liver, flambéed tableside. Those without deep pockets can opt for the set menus of regional flavours or the Cantonese à la carte. Extensive wine list." - Michelin Inspector

We stayed 3 nights and would highly recommend! The spa, gym and pool are some of the best in the world. Our room was beautiful and great location- the hotel had bikes to use as well. The only downside was WiFi did not work well

This is a good hotel, located close to the Forbidden City and the tourist areas. The breakfast buffet is a notable highlight, as is the pool/spa area (although they force you to wear a swimming cap which was a little offputting). Concierge/porter/doormen were not that helpful (perhaps not helped by limited English) and sometimes it felt that certain locals at the hotel were prioritised over foreign visitors. There is little point in doormen if they ignore guests and simply talk amongst themselves. Some on the rooms need updating and the beds very hard (although they were able to offer a mattress topper to make it slightly softer). Overall a good hotel but not on par with other Grand Hyatts around the world.

I have stayed at numerous hotels around the world ( around 60 -70 days a year), and the Grand Hyatt in Beijing continues to be one of top 3 hotels that I have ever stayed it. The pool has been recently renovated, and is absolutely breathtaking. It has Jungle, water fall motive, with an amazing ceiling. The breakfast continues to be great with a huge variety of foods available.

Had a lovely stay here in April 2024 - rooms, service, dining - everything was fantastic. We arranged our accommodation ourselves and were apprehensive on what it would turn out like but we could not fault the hotel and had the best time! We had arranged private tours for our stay in China in all the cities we visited and all of our hotels turned out to be great.

Amazing hotel. Can’t really fault it. The suites are amazing. The only real problem is that the hotel has no staff that speak English. They don’t really care. It appeared to me that the whole city is designed to make foreigners feel very unwelcome. There is no desire to serve like they do in Istanbul. And the room service and food prices are just over the top.

This is a good hotel with top-notch service! But the hotel is old (>10 years) and is in a dire need of a refurbishment! For example, the facilities bathroom are dated. | Also, because of its location and brand name, it has been able to attract relatively VVIP guests, but yet again because of its location, it is not so accessible to the vehicular road area by foot for tourists like my wife & me!||Had also used the pool on a Saturday, but a lack of clear directions led me to embarrassingly wear the bathrobes into the hotel lobby, when there are changing lockers provided in the pool area. Also, the pool was crowded; think (not certain) the hotel may have opened the pool to the public and sell them for public use!

This hotel is superb- sheer luxury. The location is great for seeing the main attractions but also it is a tranquil haven to return. The pool is one of the best hotel pools I have ever been in. Definitely visiting again.

Arrived in Beijing and was met with a friendly check in agent who recognised my status and said I had been allocated a suite. The room was dated and in the older part of the hotel, but apart from this the stay was great and staff always approachable and there if needed.
