"This hotpot shop feels like a market holding a cornucopia of every ingredient you can think of – live seafood, mushrooms, meats, leafy greens…Try Australian Wagyu chuck, fresh goose intestines and minced shrimp paste. Top choices of soup bases include the old Chengdu-style mala butter base and the river fish broth with green Sichuan peppercorns and pickles. Don’t forget the sour plum tea brewed fresh daily. A minimum charge applies to private rooms." - Michelin Inspector

Loved our stay here! You can't find a better location, right in the heart of the action on Chunxi Road and with a great view of the famous panda. The breakfast was fantastic and the service from every staff member was truly exceptional. This is what made it a 5-star experience for us.||Just a small heads-up for other travelers, the AC in our room was quite loud. It would turn on and off periodically through the night with a noise that sounded a bit like construction, and it did wake us up. Honestly though, it was a minor issue in an otherwise perfect stay.||It's a wonderful hotel that offers amazing value, and we would definitely come back! Highly recommended.

I stayed here for four nights during my trip in Chengdu. The design is fab. Upon entering the lobby, there are gorgeous floral arrangement that extends to an outdoor garden, which immediately clams you down. The staff at the front desk was very attentive and considerate, who even upgraded me to a spacious suite. The hotel is also conveniently located, within 8 mins walk to TaiKoo Li, the most luxurious shopping plaza in the downtown. The public transport is also 3 mins walk away, which allows you explore the city in a seamless way. High recommend!

When traveling to China, Chengdu is a must-visit because of the pandas. ||I compared several chain hotels and ultimately decided to stay at the Hyatt Regency, which turned out to be the right choice. ||The room design is excellent; the designer skillfully uses light and shadow, blending Chinese and Chengdu characteristics with modern elements. The bedding is very comfortable. ||I also enjoyed the hotel's breakfast, lounge, and hot pot, especially the No. 8 hot pot, which is said to be from the Black Pearl restaurant, known as China's Michelin star. ||I didn't even need to leave the hotel! I absolutely loved my stay here and highly recommend it!

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just a few minutes walk from Chunxi Road and the metro. Check in was professional and efficient. The room was lovely - very comfortable bed, floor to ceiling windows with a nice view over the city, excellent bathroom with all amenities (including Balmain toiletries), mini bar with a few complimentary soft drinks, TV with several English language channels, tea/coffee, facilities and room safe. The only surprise I got was the WiFi. Most international brand hotels I’ve stayed at in China have found a ‘solution’ to the restricted internet access but not this hotel. This was disappointing and annoying. Breakfast is excellent with lots of Asian and western food options. Staff were very helpful and standards of cleanliness were excellent. The only other slightly annoying aspect of staying at this hotel is the two-elevator requirement to get from the bedroom to the ground floor - one elevator from the room to reception and then another from reception to the ground floor/hotel entrance. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay but would not choose the hotel again because of the internet issue.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hyatt Chengdu. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the bell staff who promptly opened our car doors and helped with our luggages. Every staff we encountered during our staff was polite and friendly. I can’t recall the name of the housekeeping staff, but she was especially thoughtful - leaving a written note and crafting a cute towel elephant for us. The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The hotel’s breakfast has a good spread too! The location of the hotel is also a big plus as it is situated right next to Chun xi lu where you can do all the shoppings. We will choose Grant Hyatt again when we visit Chengdu next time.

We paid to use the club lounge so the room given was big with bath spa but without bath salt given. I also can’t find the tissue paper in the bathroom and finally found it in the room. Overall experience was nice and location was really good. Many eatery and shops just at the door steps. Even the nearby Miniso closed at 2am so can shop till late.

This Hyatt stands out as the best of my four Chengdu hotel stays, thanks to its prime location atop a 10-story mall in the city’s premier shopping district, impeccable upkeep, and exceptional service. Shoppers and foodies will adore the immediate access to retail therapy and diverse dining options. Don’t miss the food court at the -2 level of the downstairs shopping mall.||Globalist Perks & Accommodations‌|As a Hyatt Globalist, I was upgraded to a stunning suite with walls of windows overlooking Chengdu—a serene retreat from the lively streets below. The 37th-floor lounge, staffed by a polished and attentive team (special thanks to Riya for resolving an airline ticket issue!), offers all-day coffee/tea and a satisfying happy hour (17:30–19:30) with well-curated drinks and bites. The 15th-floor breakfast buffet impressed with its abundant fresh fruits, balanced Chinese/Western selections, and delightful pastries.||Wellness & Hygiene Wins‌|The spa/pool area is a highlight: spotless, luxuriously appointed with hot/cold pools, sauna, and steam room. Excellent gym with top tier equipment and variety, as well as 24 hour access.|Notably, this was the only smoke-free hotel I experienced in Chengdu—a major plus.||Thoughtful details|The Grand Hyatt is one of those rare properties with plenty of places to hang towels in the bathrooms. The beds and other furniture are comfortable and look great. There are plenty of places to store things around the room. Lifts are plentiful and fast. Public spaces are well maintained and spotlessly clean. ||Tips & Areas for Improvement‌|Pro Tip‌: Snag 50%-off delectable cakes, both large and small, from the 15th-floor bakery display case daily after 18:30.|Check-in Patience Pays‌: My delayed room (2 hours past standard time) was worth the wait—flawlessly clean and upgraded.|Breakfast Hygiene‌: While lavish, uncovered dishes at the buffet risk contamination (observed other guests coughing/sneezing directly into food). Sneeze guards would help.||Langbo vs. Grand Hyatt for Globalists‌ debating which of the two top tier Hyatt properties to book|Langbo‌: Modern vibe, stronger afternoon tea and evening happy hour, and free laundry service for three items for Globalists. Suite upgrade.|Grand Hyatt‌: Superior breakfast variety, warmer and more engaging staff interactions, and minimalist elegance—but lacks WeChat service and complimentary afternoon tea presentation. Suite upgrade.|Verdict‌: the Grand Hyatt offered a near-perfect stay with only minor areas for improvement. Highly recommended for location, service, and decor, as well as its healthy smoke free environment, a hard to find luxury in Chengdu.

I stay here once a month and keep returning because of the location, service and overall atmosphere in the hotel. It’s a nice place to spend time. On this occasion I arrived late in the evening and when informed the hotel was at capacity I was offered a suite instead. Great stuff! But I was asked to pay extra which although stilll discounted, I didn’t think I should need to do. If the hotel is full then an upgrade is certainly welcome but as a regular customer I would have appreciated a no cost upgrade. Nontheless, it’s is a great place to stay and I will return again next month. Recommended.
