McDonald’s Workers Demonstrated Outside Shareholders’ Meeting in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"As McDonald’s executives and investors attended the company's annual shareholders' meeting at the hotel located at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, McDonald’s workers—taking part in a 13-city “week of action”—marched to the meeting room, presented a list of demands, and demonstrated outside with posters. The protesters were calling attention to workplace violence and sexual harassment while advocating for a $15-per-hour living wage and the right to unionize; the demonstration in Dallas coincided with a Bernie Sanders video town hall in the city." - Adele Chapin

This hotel was perfect for a long layover. It was very easy to find, located right in the terminal where my plane landed, with signs marking the directions the entire way. I'm not sure why others would complain about issues related to the airport that have nothing to do with a hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the in-room dining experience excellent. The staff sent periodic messages to make sure all was well, so the service was great too. As far as the construction, it was very noisy, but only occurred during the day, so there was no problem with sleeping at all.

New rooms look nice but aren't ready for prime time. Outlets didn't work, some bath fixtures were already loose, TV didn't work. "Restaurant" wasn't great and very slow service. This may improve once the permanent restaurant is open. Might return once it's ready but may also stay at the Regency and save a couple hundred bucks.

Super convenient location inside Terminal D at DFW airport. So easy for late night arrival or early morning flight. Check-in staff were friendly and offered bottled water and snacks, and upgraded us to a runway view room, nice.Room was clean and spacious, beds were comfortably firm. Decor is the black dominant era Grand Hyatt style. Note that this hotel started renovations in mid July and several floors have been removed from service. Look forward to a more modern update following this.Bottled water inside the room is complimentary only for higher status World of Hyatt members. Seems a little petty for a Grand Hyatt - it's water not champagne, you can do better Hyatt!

Date of Stay: Friday, 8/8/25 - Sunday, 8/10/25|Length of Stay: 2 Nights||In a nutshell, the Grand Hyatt DFW is the best option for anyone that is traveling to, from or through the DFW Airport. Its direct-connection to DFW's Terminal D make it an ideal place to stay before or after a flight, and the service offered is vastly superior to that at most airport hotels. If you need a room before or after a flight, do not miss a chance to stay at this truly amazing Grand Hyatt property!||Now, for my detailed review:||First and foremost, I must address the elephant in the room -- yes, the Grand Hyatt DFW is currently in the midst of a complete transformation of the property. This property is very open and transparent about this process, as you will see the notices everywhere on the Hyatt website -- but, do not let this concern you, as the Grand Hyatt DFW remains fully operational and throughout this process, it remains the same beautiful property that it has always been! Do not let the construction deter you; construction noise is only noticeable during the daytime hours, and even then, it did not seem bad at all. ||Honestly, having stayed here multiple times, the Grand Hyatt DFW always looked fresh and modern and did not feel in need of a complete refresh, but Management is being pro-active to keep this hotel one of the top airport properties in the country! ||Additionally, Management at the Grand Hyatt DFW has gone above and beyond to keep the beautiful atmosphere of its property intact during the renovation process. It has relocated its wonderful restaurant and bar, the "Grand Met" down to one of its beautiful ballrooms. I was a bit unsure of how this might look, but upon entry, I was amazed at how much effort was made to make the ballroom look like a truly high-end restaurant, with an absolutely beautiful bar set-up. Service remains excellent, with wonderful food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, the property maintains its excellent full room-service dining option. Even in its temporary location, "Grand Met" still serves up an excellent buffet breakfast that will vastly exceed anything that you would get in the terminal or in flight. Definitely make sure to take advantage of the wonderful dining offered at the Grand Hyatt DFW!||With that said, let me explain how wonderfully convenient this property is! It is directly connected to DFW's Terminal D, the International Terminal, making it extremely convenient for early or late international flights. Should you need a place to stay prior to an early/late flight, a place to stay upon arrival, or if you get stuck due to cancellation or connection issues, there is no better choice than the Grand Hyatt DFW!||You have quick and easy access to security on the Terminal Level, so you will have no problem getting to your flights after spending a restful night at the Grand Hyatt DFW. One minor caveat -- as someone has posted and many are aware, the layout of the DFW Airport is rather "unique" with its numerous separate terminals. If you are departing on a domestic flight with any airline other than American Airlines and need to check baggage, you will need to take DFW Airport's complimentary shuttle bus, the Terminal Link; this can be found curbside on the arrivals level, with pickup every five minutes, and it will take you to any other terminal for check-in. However, if you are traveling with American Airlines or any other International Carrier, there are full-service check-in counters in Terminal D. Additionally, if you do not have any baggage and are utilizing a mobile boarding pass, PreCheck Security is located directly beside the hotel in Terminal D. Finally, upon arrival you have two ways to get to the property; if you have no baggage, you can simply take the SkyLink Train within security from your arrival terminal to Terminal D. However, if you are traveling with baggage, you would need to exit security to utilize the Terminal Link Shuttle Bus. Either way, the Grand Hyatt DFW is a very quick and easy shuttle away from any flight that you might have via DFW!||The Main Lobby at the Grand Hyatt DFW is generally a quick escalator ride up from Terminal Level; however, during the renovation, check-in has been relocated to the Lower Ballroom Level. Still very easy to get to via either escalators or elevators, and Management has gone out of their way to make this temporary "Front Desk" look quite nice. You will find it always well staffed with extremely helpful and friendly agents -- our flight was very much so delayed and we arrived after midnight, but still found two wonderful agents that were able to assist us as we checked in. Within a matter of minutes, we were to our beautiful Runway View Suite!||As for Rooms at the Grand Hyatt DFW, you will find them to be very large, as they start at 450-square feet. You have essentially two View options, "Runway View" or standard. Personally, we love to plane-watch, so we always book a Runway View, but views of the airport property and parking lot on the other side are likely just as nice. Currently, the upper-floors are closed for the renovation, with rooms located on Floors 1-4; we were assigned a beautiful King Suite on the 4th Floor. The King Suites are wonderful split-room layouts, sized at around 670-square feet. I have attached several photos of our Suite and its runway view. The Suite itself was very spacious and modern, with large televisions allowing for ChromeCast connections to enjoy your own streaming while delayed. And, for those needing sleep between flights, the Suite offered excellent electronically controlled black-out curtains. All-in-all, the Rooms and Suites at the Grand Hyatt DFW provide a wonderful place to rest before or after flights!||And, should you have a bit more time to relax or wish to work out, the Grand Hyatt DFW offers a very well-equipped rooftop gym and an excellent rooftop pool -- both of which allow for excellent relaxation and plane-spotting! ||In conclusion, the Grand Hyatt DFW is a truly wonderful property, offering modern and spacious accommodations with friendly and attentive staff. It offers great convenience to all flights at DFW, and wonderful dining and drink options. The next time your travels take you through DFW, do not miss a chance to stay at the Grand Hyatt DFW!

Great hotel! Convenient for early flights. Staff was very helpful. Modern rooms, big bathrooms with a shower and a tub. Cool watching planes take off and land. It wasn't noisy either!

The main draw of this hotel is the location and proximity to the airport. I had to stay here last minute, so the price was exorbitant. The room was incredibly spacious, but a bit dingy. Not a whole lot of lighting, but was comfortable enough for a night before my flight the next day. The breakfast at the hotel is pretty decent, though my room service food wasn’t great, especially for the price.

I got a room to kill a 6 hour layover at DFW, thinking I could nap. The construction noise immediately above my room made that impossible. Fine, I figured I'd order room service and watch tv. No room service was available either. Non existent view., couldn't even watch planes. This was a total waste of a LOT of money. I would have been more comfortable in the terminal.

i have stayed here a number of times. all have been fabulous. i do not hear any airplane noise. i do like to watch the workings of the airport, including planes landing and taking off. my most recent stay was june 7. i had been traveling 24 hours. i had one more short leg to my home. however, it was the last flight of the day, the flight that will most likely to be canceled, esp on a saturday night. i knew i would not handle it well if that flight was canceled after my long travel day! so, i decided to stop at DFW and stay at the grand hyatt and then fly out early the next morning. it was easier to get over jet lag that way. also, i would not have the anxiety that my flight would be canceled or even worse that it would be canceled. the rooms are always very clean and well appointed. the lobby is beautiful. i have eaten at the restaurant before and it is surprisingly good. no need to go anywhere else. some people say it is expensive. i don't think so. i think it is totally worth it. security is just very few steps away. very convenient. no shuttles. no extra travel time to get to and from the airport. you are already there. on top of all of this, i was completely surprised that Anthea, a front desk host, chose me as her guest of the day! i got an upgraded room with runway view and she left me a lovely large bag of snacks. it was a very welcome sight!!! the upgraded room had a booklet of plane models to help identify planes on the tarmac. so fun! i love this hotel.
