The 16 Best Bangkok Hotels, From Grande Dames to Converted Canal Homes

"The Grand Hyatt Erawan offers a true five-star experience, from the house Mercedes to the helipad up on the roof. The over-the-top amenities, which make this hotel a favorite among corporate execs and stylish jet-setting families, also include the Erawan Spa Cottages, a cluster of resort-style villa suites that all face gardens. Oversize soaking tubs, rain showers, Nakamichi stereo systems, free-flowing cocktails, and a personal spa concierge are just a few of the many perks. Make sure to check out their Sunday brunch—it's regarded as one of the best in the city." - Jenny Adams

"Grand Hyatt Erawan epitomizes modern Bangkok —it's big, busy, and well-located. The hotel is almost its own stop on the Sky Train, and once you step outside, you're on one of the most active corners of metropolitan Asia. Although the Grand Hyatt is linked to a shopping mall via a sky bridge, the world slows down a touch inside the hotel. The comings and goings of suit-clad men and women and shoppers clutching huge bags creates a soft-edged urban atmosphere. The high-ceilinged, almost colonial-feeling lobby sets up a pleasing contrast with the clean lines, neutral tones, and natural light of the spacious rooms. The hotel is kitted out with lots of technological perks, such enhanced work desk lighting and LCD screen TVs, and the service is attentive."

Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

"So, anything special this hotel is known for? Grand Hyatt Erawan does one of the best Sunday brunches in the city, one that attracts a lot of locals. There's also the Erawan Tea Room, which does an award-winning high tea. We'll definitely have to try the Sunday brunch. What about the neighborhood? Does the hotel fit in, make itself part of the scene? Help orient us. The hotel is located right next to Erawan Shrine, which is a popular tourist site. It's also directly adjacent to all levels of shopping at Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery, as well as MBK, one of Asia's largest malls. It sounds pretty central; that's perfect. Tell us what we missed—are there any tips you'd like to offer up? The Erawan Spa Cottages are a cluster of resort-style villa suites that all face gardens. Oversize soaking tubs, rain showers, Nakamichi stereo systems, free-flowing cocktails, and a personal spa concierge are just a few of the many perks." - Jenny Adams

I had a truly wonderful stay at Grand Hyatt Erawan – thank you to the entire team for such a great experience! To give some context, I was in Bangkok for a medical trip and was mainly looking for a hotel that was convenient in terms of location, with easy access to food and shops. Grand Hyatt Erawan delivered on all fronts. It’s perfectly located, and everything I needed was within reach.I had a truly wonderful stay at Grand Hyatt Erawan – thank you to the entire team for such a great experience! To give some context, I was in Bangkok for a medical trip and was mainly looking for a hotel that was convenient in terms of location, with easy access to food and shops. Grand Hyatt Erawan delivered on all fronts. It’s perfectly located, and everything I needed was within reach.Because of its central location, the hotel is bustling and lively – almost every room seemed occupied during my stay. While it may not be the quiet, secluded kind of 5-star hotel some might prefer, I personally loved the energy. The constant flow of guests and families made me feel safe and never alone, even when walking through the corridors late at night. The breakfast buffet was a highlight – delicious and thoughtfully curated. I really appreciated that the chefs came out to greet guests and ask for feedback. It made the whole experience feel warm and communal, like everyone belonged there.Service was also impeccable. The staff were responsive and attentive, and housekeeping was fast and efficient. I also loved that the "Privacy Please" feature was connected to the front desk – the moment I deactivated it, my laundry was delivered right away. Little touches like this made a big difference.Although I didn’t get to try the spa, pool, or gym myself, my partner did and raved about it every morning. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the traffic – which is expected given the central location. Just make sure to plan your travel time, especially during peak hours. All in all, I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I’ll definitely be back for my next visit. Amazing 5 star hotel! Food, staff, service were impeccable! Great gym and spa! Breakfast buffet was wonderful. We especially loved the extensive Asian food items. 24 hour Room service was a great plus to the accommodations. The room service menu had many great food and dessert options. Service was fast and food was always delivered hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend this hotel. 5 out of 5 stars and a 9.8 out of 10

Great hotel! I truly enjoyed my 6-day stay at this wonderful hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I’m glad I discovered it during my first visit to Thailand. The hotel entrance looks like a castle, which gives a very unique and grand first impression. All the staff members here are incredibly efficient and professional—a top-notch team. I must say, the breakfast buffet was truly one of a kind. I’m a huge breakfast fan, and when a hotel offers a great breakfast buffet, it definitely earns high marks from me. The gym, spa, and pool were all clean and spacious—perfect for relaxing or getting in a good workout. If you’re like me and end up doing a lot of shopping (and end up with several suitcases!), I recommend asking the hotel to arrange transportation to the airport. I had three large suitcases and a small bag, and the hotel arranged a nice SUV for a flat rate of 700 baht (about $21 USD). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok. I guarantee you’ll enjoy some precious “me time” here!

The hotel is centrally located, with dedicated BTS access. All the common areas are flawless and the connected shopping complex is a good addition. The pool area is also one of the better ones in the city. Only minus are the rooms, which are already quite dated and below the quality what you’d expect at this price point. For instance, my toilet was barely working anymore.

This is by far the most amazing Hyatt be ever stayed at! It’s a gorgeous property! The staff is so friendly and accommodating! The rooms are spacious and has lots of toiletries! This was the perfect property for our weeks stay! Great location as well! The pool area and service were awesome as well! This hotel deserves 10 stars!

The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great décor and crisp bed sheets. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a huge variety of options! The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. I really like this hotel. Both beautiful and spacious You can do many activities and the staff also provide good service. The price is reasonable and can make my vacation very relaxing. If there is a chance, I would like to bring my friends and family to stay here. This hotel is a cheap hotel. And there are officers who provide good service. Located in a place that is easy to travel to. The area inside the hotel is clean.

One of the best city hotels I’ve stayed in! Just a 30–40 minute drive from the airport, making it super convenient. Despite our late midnight arrival, the staff welcomed us warmly, and check-in was seamless. Their hospitality? A perfect 10. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a beautiful touch of local culture, which I really appreciated. What stood out the most was their attention to detail—even the toiletries were elegantly presented and felt luxurious. Breakfast was easily our favorite part! As an Asian, I was beyond satisfied with the variety—from different types of rice and dim sum to fresh salads and even milk tea. Every craving was met. Plus, the hotel is close to malls and our meeting venues, making it the perfect place to unwind after battling city traffic. Absolutely loved everything about our stay! Would definitely come back.

Stayed here for 3 nights a couple of years back and look back on it very fondly. Grand is a great way to describe the hotel, with the high arching ceilings in the lobby. Rooms were nice and clean, location is top tier, and the breakfast buffet was just as good as any hotel we’ve stayed at anywhere in the world. For the cost, this is definitely one of the best value hotels
