28 Hubin Road

"Perched on the shore of West Lake, this hotel restaurant is led by a local chef with over 20 years of experience under his belt. Traditional Zhejiang recipes are given a new spin – to great effect. The braised pork belly pagoda comes in two portion sizes: a mini version served with pumpkin flatbread and a regular one with chestnut pancakes. The wine list features a plethora of Chinese labels from Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Xinjiang and Ningxia." - Michelin Inspector

I had a wonderful stay at the Hangzhou Hyatt Hotel. The location is excellent—conveniently close to West Lake and major attractions. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with stunning views and thoughtful amenities. Service was top-notch; staff were professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of both Western and local options. Overall, a seamless and comfortable experience—highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

I had a fantastic stay at the Grand Hyatt Hangzhou. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and well taken care of. Everyone I encountered was courteous, professional, and incredibly helpful—whether it was assisting with local recommendations, handling requests promptly, or simply offering a warm greeting. We had originally planned to bring our son along, and the staff thoughtfully prepared a gift for him.

The hotel is perfectly located on West Lake, right by the famous lake light fountain display and street stalls. Also in easy reach of commercial shopping area, including international designer brands. The reception and lobby area is vast and beautifully set out with plenty of comfy sofas, plus pastry stall, cafe and bar (behind the antique door). We stayed in a River View Twin Room on 7th floor and had amazing views of the lake. The room was spacious with sofa and table area. The bathroom had a bath, single sink, and plenty of space for toiletries. The smart toilet and shower were each in their own cubicle, making it easy for privacy. The free swimming pool was a nice addition and not busy at all. We even got to use the jacuzzi in the spa as it was empty. Just remember to bring your swimming cap as it's mandatory for the pool! The highlight is the breakfast buffet....a vast array of stations with western and Eastern dishes, freshly made and plenty of cakes and fruit. Really fantastic quality and taste. As we had upgraded to Club status, we also had access to the 8th floor roof top which is brilliant for more sights of the lake, plus you get arrival snacks and drinks, and nightly happy hour for 2hrs. Do not miss this as it's not just drinks and alcohol - food is also included and it was enough for us as our dinner. Overall, we couldn't fault anything with this hotel. It was perfect for our 2-night stay for sightseeing Hangzhou.

Perfect location right at the lake front, making lakeside activities very convenient. The nightly music fountain show is just infront. Plentiful shopping at InTime malls just next to it and the Wulin night market 10” walk away. If you book the Club room with access to the Grand club, afternoon tea and happy hour is included. The spread of food during happy hour is so plentiful you can skip dinner after that. Service from the staff is friendly and attentive. Special commendation to 嘻嘻 , a service staff who went above and beyond his duties. He booked the Impression Hangzhou tickets for me using his own money and only expect reimbursement much later. A highly recommended hotel.

The hotel is in a great location next to the lake, however the views of it can be partially blocked by the swimming pool’s sail roof, so best book a high floor if you are paying a premium to look at the lake. The back of the hotel can be noisy.Taxis can take a long time as the way in and out of the cup the sac can be slow. The pool is big, but should have a separate pool for children, as the locals are very noisy and not well behaved, the sauna and hot tub are good and so is the gym. The ground floor Chinese restaurant is fantastic and the staff great, some even speak good English, which in China is very unusual.Overall a good hotel.

Pleasant rooms with decent to good service. I had a lovely view of the west lake from the 8th floor and enjoyed the gym on the second floor as well. The gym is a bit small but has everything you need to get a full workout Only negative experience that occurred was my room not being ready upon check in. I requested early check in but the room was still being cleaned. I wasn’t able to get my room until about 5PM which is 2 hours past regular check in time Location is top tier as you can browse the street stalls right outside and you’re conveniently located right next to a shopping district with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Breakfast food was very diverse but I felt the food wasn’t very noteworthy. Lounges were great and the folks there were very pleasant. I enjoyed their small selection of beers, wines, finger foods, and tea. The space itself is a bit small so during peak hours it can get busy Overall a very enjoyable stay minus the late checking experience.

I think the Grand Hyatt is the best hotel in Hangzhou . The view of West Lake from the Grand Ballroom Terrace is so beautiful. The staff at the Grand Club are all very friendly and professional. I hope to have the opportunity to come again.
