"How did it strike you on arrival? The Grand Hyatt makes a strong first impression: As the bellhops open the glass doors and relieves you of your luggage, you’ll step into a three-story marble atrium with several desks at attention and classical music wafting through the air. Nice. What’s the crowd like? This is an ideal location for business travelers—connected to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and right across the street from a collection of government offices. It is also a walking advertisement for Ralph Lauren. Keep an eye out for guests in tuxedos and gowns, heading to the ballroom for a gala. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Renovated in 2016, the 524 rooms and suites combine contemporary style with Asian design elements. See the latticed-looking doorway, Chinese silk screens on the walls, and sleek furniture in muted tones. Every room comes with a Nespresso machine, online check-in and floor-to-ceiling windows, though you’ll need to request a “View” room if you’d like to admire the harbor. It's worth the upgrade: The gorgeous view showcases Victoria Harbour from the east, which means you’ll be perfectly positioned to watch the sun dip into the water at the end of the day. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The Hyatt’s 13-inch-thick Sealy Posturepedic beds will feel like home to frequent travelers and newcomers alike. The 250-thread-count linens and down duvet mattress amp up the comfort. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Inside the safe, we found a convenient jewelry tray that made it easy to keep track of our valuables. We also loved the design of the mini bar—you slide it open like a drawer, rather than a fridge, so it’s easy to see the gourmet offerings. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The rooms appear bigger than they are thanks to a glass-enclosed bathroom, where you can enjoy the view from a standalone tub. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free Wi-Fi all day, every day. Room service: Worth it?The in-room dining menu offers a taste of every kitchen—from Chinese to Japanese, European and more. We were most attracted to the western comfort foods (like burgers and pasta) as well as the “Hong Kong Flavors” page, where we found the hotel’s signature Hainan chicken rice and Hong Kong-style shrimp wonton noodles. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?We celebrated an anniversary at recently refurbished Tiffin, on the mezzanine floor. The extensive evening buffet overflows with freshly steamed lobsters, cheese platters, oysters, and beef Wellington. As we were winding down, the restaurant manager surprised us with a raspberry chocolate cake. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Travelers and locals equally love the dining options at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. There is the excellent Grand Hyatt Steakhouse; award-winning One Harbour Road, serving traditional Cantonese cuisine; Kaetsu and The Teppanroom, both serving Japanese; Tiffin, a classic and comprehensive European buffet; Grissini, an Italian favorite; and the recently renovated Grand Cafe, with harbor views and all-day dining. We’d also recommend popping into the Parisian Champagne Bar, which has one of the largest bubbly menus in Hong Kong, as well as live jazz, freshly shucked oysters, and caviar. Another of the hotel's attractions is the enormous wellness center, pool, and spa floor. The spa is known for its minimalist, Japanese-style suites; the heated outdoor pool stretches for 82 feet—ideal for lap swimmers. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The Grand Hyatt has much to recommend it—the classic marble lobby, live music, prime dining options, warm service, and smartly designed rooms. For business travelers, the location and 22-plus event and meeting venues are also major selling points. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Combining the efficiency of a business hotel with the indulgences of a resort, the Grand Hyatt is a well-oiled machine in the Wan Chai district." - Kate Springer

I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and had an outstanding experience. Emily from Club Lounge ensured my stay was exceptional. The accommodation was superb, boasting a breathtaking harbour view. The meticulous attention to detail and the warmth of the entire staff, from the front desk to the room service team, truly enhanced my stay. An unforgettable experience, thanks to Emily and the fantastic team!

Staff is excellent and friendly, very accommodating. Rooms are clean and spacious. The views from your bed are breathtaking. Great location. Easy to get around well worth your money. Don't miss breakfast. Afternoon, lunch buffet pricey, but well worth it.

We had a lovely stay at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, we had a upgrade room, perfect for our family, we love the habour view and enjoy the breakfast. Staff is very friendly and polite. We would love to come back again.

We chose this hotel for our Anniversary but we were very disappointed with the rooms given. Hotels staffs are friendly from the moment I arrived. Highly commendable. However, there were too many people hanging around the lobby. It was crowded and noisy. Feels like a market place. We have requested for Harbour view and we got 21st floor (initially was 11th floor) which was great but we had the convention Center right in front of us. I like the concept of the bathroom. It is modern and romantic but the bed was a disappointment. The pillows and the bed are relatively hard and totally not comfortable at all. It doesn’t tick the box for me as a luxury hotel. Should provide more drinking water in the room.

One of the best Hyatt hotels I have stayed in. I stayed there over a weekend to visit a friend. The service is top-tier. I also like the room design. It’s a short walk to the Wan Chai metro station, and you can also hop on a taxi or call a Uber at the entrance. Definitely recommend.

Google
An excellent hotel with spectacular views of Hong Kong Harbour. This was our fourth stay at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong; the first time with children. We booked two interconnecting rooms (2820 and 2821). The room sizes were great with all the amenities one would expect from a 5 star hotel. From the minute we checked in, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The breakfast was excellent as was the seafood buffet we had at the hotel on one of the nights.

Google
Everything about this place was phenomenal. The pool was very nice and the gym was large, with plenty of machinery. The breakfast was delicious. I would rate this hotel 6 stars if I could.

Had an absolutely wonderful overnight stay, checkin was brilliant and we could get into the room at 10 am. Shirley on reception was very efficient. The room was beautifully clean and very modern. We had access to club lounge which was well worth it. Scott and his amazing team provided exceptional service. Scott himself is extremely personable and nothing was too much trouble. Even after we checked out he saw us sitting in the reception area and came over to talk.

Yelp
The last time I stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hong was over 10 years ago and it was a 5 star experience. I took my family this time to enjoy the stay and view over Christmas holidays. The service, Grand Hyatt quality, staff and hotel haven't changed one bit. Everything about the stay was perfect. The fantastic views, to the helpful staff who brought all our luggage to our room and it was a lot of suitcases as we were only staying a couple of nights before flying back to the U.S. it was the last leg of our Asia tour so we had amassed quite a lot of souvenirs and shopping to bring home. The views from our room were spectacular! Especially during the golden hour where Hong Kong bay just seems to light up and glow. We took every opportunity we could to take in the views. I called the concierge desk to ask for help getting reservations to a restaurant I wanted to take my family. After many attempts, they couldn't connect with the restaurant, but they gave us 2-3 other options where I could go for dinner and they made the reservations for me. The dinner was perfect and we enjoyed the food. We hired the Grand Hyatt airport limousine van to take us to Hong Kong airport. The service was above and beyond. When we pulled up to the airport terminal there were two Hyatt staff members waiting for our arrival with two baggage carts. Once the van pulled up they unloaded our luggage and pushed the carts behind us to follow us to the check in counter and unloaded everything for us there. It was seamless and smooth to check in. We had a perfect stay there and can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
For over 15 years the service, food and elegance has remained intact. Prices are far more reasonable than but you must remember that in Asia, Hyatt a luxury brand and is 4-5 stars. Rooms recently renovated. Steakhouse still one of the best in HK. I haven't been here for 8 years and it's better than before. Stunning views, great location and and a staff that rivals any hotel I've stayed in for 3x the money. Breakfast buffet is stunning and often included in room prices. Outdoor pool Area is stunning. I don't care what's the cool new spot, the old guard can be counted on and I'll never stay anywhere else. One of the best run hotels in the world and certainly the crown jewel of Hyatt, along with the Park Hyatt in a Tokyo.

Christina W.

Yelp
Breathtaking property situated next to the HK Convention Center in Wan Chai, this is probably of my favorite Hyatt Properties in Asia. Nestled in a prime location on HK Island, this isn't exactly the easiest to stroll onto if you're taking the MTR, so be prepared to haul your luggage to get here if you're not arriving by car. The view from the higher floors are amazing during the daytime and nighttime, and the walls are thick so you'll definitely have some privacy *wink wink* The lobby is quite Grand, with marbled and some carpeting flooring that exudes a grandiose welcome or farewell, upon entry or exit, respectively. We enjoyed our one night stay here, and were welcomed with some fruit and champagne to celebrate. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom is spectacular with a separate tub and a spacious shower for ultimate luxury. Definitely on par with what you'd expect from a Park Hyatt, such as the PH Saigon. The grand king bed was extremely comfortable, to the point where we fell asleep early shortly after laying down! Access to the Grand Club lounge was great for appetizers/snacks during the daytime, while the morning breakfast spread was quite extensive. We may indulged a bit too much for breakfast, but I highly recommend checking it out if you're staying here as an Explorist or Globalist. Cheers to my ridiculously awesome dumpling bae for arranging this for our last night abroad before jetting back to the stateside!

Yelp
Grand Hyatt was a beautiful hotel! Stayed here for free when I used my Hyatt Credit Card free nights! I recommend getting the card if you plan on going overseas, 2 free nights and no transaction fees! The hotel itself larger then life and the decor is amazing. It was a luxury to stay here. The rooms were clean, large, and really comfortable. They provide free water bottles throughout the day which was great. The provide a cellphone with unlimited data all over Hong Kong for free! Such an awesome amenity. Service and concierge were very friendly and helpful. The spoke really good english. A lot of restaurants and bars throughout the hotel. Located by the shore and walking distance to the ferry if you want to go to Kowloon. Had a great time here and would stay again!

Yelp
We stopped by here for the famous hainanese chicken for lunch and the hotel is breathtaking! It's one of the most elegant grand hyatt's I've seen and I'm making plans to stay here next time we're in hong kong. As for the food - the hainanese chicken is famous for a good reason. It's one of the best I've had in Hong kong (which are in general better than the ones in the states unsurprisingly). It's priced fairly well too. The restaurant wasn't too crowded on a weekday for lunch so if you happen in the area you won't regretting enjoying a meal here.

Yelp
From the moment I arrived till the hour in left this hotel is five star all the way. The suite I had was perfection and the staff could not have been better. Not only will I stay here again but I have already told many of my fellow travelers to stay here. Its defiantly worth the money.

Yelp
This hotel was wonderful. Amazing customer service, great restaurants, nice view. Stayed for a week for business and was impressed. Room was beautiful, I would highly recommend! Love that you could lower the blinds down to close off the bathroom or keep it open. Conveniently attached to the convention center as well.

Yelp
Truly a grand hotel in a great location. Great views from the harbor facing rooms, especially at night. The lobby, expansive and soaring with gorgeous marble columns, exudes luxury. Visiting during the holiday season, I was treated to beautiful Christmas decorations, including an impossibly large tree next to the stairs. The rooms are rather large and tastefully decorated in muted tones. Bed and linens are as comfortable as they appear, and sleep is certain once the full blackout shades are drawn...once you figure out the somewhat complicated switch panel. The breakfast buffet is top-quality, with extensive selections from both Western and various Asian cuisines. Although a bit pricey (~$40USD), it's certainly a great way to start the day. One thing about the jazz bar on the ground floor (Champagne Bar.) I noticed that there were a couple of, um, "working girls" hanging. One with a client, the other on the lookout. I understand that the hotel is located in the Wan Chai neighborhood, notorious for prostitution, but thought that this hotel would be exempt. All in all, a great hotel choice in a city full of top-notch options.

Yelp
Upon arrival in Hong Kong, we checked into the Grand Hyatt where our room was located on the 31st floor (Grand Club level).  We enjoyed the hotel for 3 days. The Grand Club offers a nice breakfast spread ( you can even have things cooked to order) and a lovely evening reception with cocktails and appetizers.  Even better than the food was the excellent service by the staff there.   They truly went out of their way to make guests feel special.

James R.

Yelp
The Grand Hyatt has: * Large, comfortable rooms * Plush beds * Electronically controlled true blackout curtains (you don't realize how big of a deal this is until you experience them) * A very nice bathroom with a large soaking tub * A gorgeous view * A breakfast buffet that is the height of class and is truly delicious * A fantastic jazz band in the lounge * A truly comprehensive fitness center * Spa and sauna * And so, so much more... Every detail here seems to make your life better and more relaxed during your stay. It feels like they are one step ahead of anything you need. I would love the chance to stay here again.

Steve A.

Yelp
One of the best hotel rooms ever, and a truly cordial and welcoming staff. Really enjoyed the club level service. Front desk was very helpful. Very efficient taxi servicing. The only downside is the location, which is great for conventions, but difficult to walk to transportation due to the multi-level nature of the city and major construction. When the construction is complete access to the MTR should be much improved.

Tony L.

Yelp
If I could, I would rate the Grand Hyatt as 4 1/2 stars. We landed late at night on New Year's, and were really tired from our flight to Hong Kong. Once we arrived at the hotel, however, we were greeted with friendly and efficient service. Since it was the holiday season, we wanted a view. We were given the choice to upgrade to a remodeled room, a view room, or a remodeled view room. We just opted for the view room, and were led to a huge room on the 31st floor with an incredible view of the harbour. To be honest, the only thing that wasn't remodeled was the bathroom: while clean and big, it was definitely dated (unless you are into gold fixtures and black stone). With the view room, we got a front row seat to the fireworks the next night, so the upgrade definitely paid off. While the view was great, the service was great as well. With the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong outside, it was nice to head back to the hotel to be greeted in a friendly and helpful manner each time. In addition, the location is pretty convenient: we walked to the MTR station often, which was about 10 minutes away. If you are looking for a nice hotel in the middle of everything, you should definitely consider the Grand Hyatt,

Yelp
Fancy a three hour brunch on the roof terrace of a swanky hotel? Look no further. A friend who lives in HK arranged for a group of 10 of us to dine here one Sunday (it's very popular so be sure to book well in advance). The setting is fairly impressive, located in the centre of a lush garden by the hotel's pool - so expect there to be hotel guests lazing around in their swimwear whilst you eat! The weekend brunch and barbecue buffet includes a large range of salads, grilled meats and seafood, plus mouth-watering desserts - you're truly spoilt for choice. Oh, did I forget to mention the unlimited sparkling wine or Mimosas that are regularly topped up? (Albeit at a HK$198 supplement). The price for the brunch is HK$568 per adult and HK$269 per child. All in all it was a lovely way to spend a lazy day chatting and eating with friends. Would recommend.

Bob V.

Yelp
Definitely a five star hotel. The attention to detail is amazing. We've stayed here twice and loved both stays. The location is great - everything is walkable but bring good shoes. Friendly staff who was very attentive and eager to make our stay the best. We used the horizon club and had some really great food with a good selection of both western and Chinese foods. Weather kept us for the pool but it looked lovely. You can't beat the harbor views. They are stunning.

Veronica P.

Yelp
We arrived at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong shortly after 6:30 PM. The lobby is expansive with two sweeping staircases on each side of the lobby. Check-in was efficient with all benefits clearly explained. I was informed that I could take breakfast either in the Club Lounge or in the Grand Café Restaurant. I had used a Diamond Suite Upgrade for the stay, and was escorted to the room by the front desk associate. I had inquired about getting a suite in one of the newly renovated rooms, but that was unavailable. Upon entering the room these is a hallway with a dresser on the right that holds a stereo, coffee maker and several bottles of water. The living room contains a sofa, small coffee table and lounge chair with ottoman. There is a flat screen TV with DVD player. There was a bowl of fruit containing a banana, a couple of oranges and plums, and a dragon fruit. There was also a welcome amenity consisting of a bottle of wine, pistachios and some dried apricots. The view from the room is spectacular and partial view of Victoria Harbor can be seen. The bedroom was large with a nightstand on each side of the bed. The hotel provides in room adapters which is very convenient in case you forget to bring one. There is another flat screen TV along with a small desk in the bedroom. A small jar of cookies was on the desk. There were letters outlining the Grand Club hours, along with another letter informing guests of the ongoing renovations. There is a walk-in closet which has a dresser, shelf for luggage, portable luggage rack, ironing board, slippers and robes. The bathroom is adorned in black marble with gold fixtures, and multiple mirrors. It reminds me of a cross between "Enter the Dragon" and a room from Caesar's Palace in the 1990's. There is a single sink with a fair amount of counter space. The shower is a little hidden in the corner behind the bathroom door. There is a separate tub which is on the smaller side. The room smelled very musty, as if there was a massive water leak in the room at some point and felt slightly damp to the touch. The carpet also looked as if there were water stains. I called down to the front desk and informed them of my concern. The housekeeping manager arrived and said that the carpet was dry, and the look of the carpet was normal. An assistant manager also inspected the room, and he also stated that the carpet was dry and that the look of the carpet was normal. He did offer to send up another air purifier however, which sort of indicated to me that they did acknowledge that there was something "off" with the room but didn't want to say so outright. We arrived at the Grand Club just as they were about to close for the evening. Offerings were sparse and included salad, cold cuts, vegetables, hummus (which was not very good), fruit and a couple of desserts. We opted to have breakfast in the Grand Café. The buffet selection is expansive and includes Asian options, a noodle bar, a cooked to order egg station which also includes the option of having pancakes or waffles, salads, cereal, yogurt, breads, pastries, fruit and a made to order juice bar. Service in the restaurant was fairly slow, as drinks were not refilled frequently. The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is a very nice hotel, and once all of the rooms are renovated will be a large improvement. All employees were very friendly and helpful. Service in the restaurant could improve. The major downside to the hotel is its location in that nothing is really within walking distance, and the nearest subway station is about 10 minutes away.

Yelp
Note: this review is for the afternoon tea. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! A little outdated but gorgeous in a classic way nonetheless. I would rate this 4.5 stars if that were possible. Although my boyfriend and I were staying at the Renaissance just a few blocks away, my best friend picked me up to take me to the Grand Hyatt for my first high tea. Everything about it was made for Instagram. They have this crazy waffle bar in the back where a chef makes a warm belgian waffle for you and tops it with your choice of ice cream (I got strawberry and mango). There's also a gorgeous selection of chocolate, fruits, and cakes that come with your tea set as well and don't even get me started on the actual tea display. My best friend paid roughly $40 USD a person for us. This is probably one of the most gorgeous settings for afternoon tea as well with huge wall to ceiling windows overlooking part of the harbor. I'm docking a few points down for service because they could have been better but overall, I'd love to come back here in a heart beat.

Yelp
Holy mother of all things good in this world. When you think of the Hong Kong experience where you have an epic view of the harbor and of the city skyline. This is it. You end up paying for that view, but it definitely is worth it for the experience. It features large comfortable rooms, stellar service and the amazing harbor views. The grand staircase that greets you is reason enough to stop by for a cocktail. It greets you and almost says "welcome home." The large rooms are well appointed and filled with modern decor with small Asian twists that bring a special touch. However it is the large floor to ceiling windows that give you that panoramic view which makes an already large room, even larger. Service is legendary here and is what brings it to another level. The house staff were helpful and incredibly pleasant. They clearly know how to please and were very knowledgeable and helpful, especially when it came to finding new things about Hong Kong and the neighborhood. Its location is in the middle of the center of Hong Kong and adjacent to the convention center, however it can be a bit of a challenge when it comes to the subway. Its close, but not quite.

Grace L.

Yelp
What a beautiful property with top notch service! Celebrated my birthday here and they sent us an amazingly delicious box of chocolate truffles. Small touches like that really make this hotel worthy of its 5-stars. Our room was spacious and updated, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. As diamond members, we enjoyed the breakfast and cocktail hour daily. The dim sum coming out of the hotel kitchen is superb. Actually, EVERYTHING coming out of the hotel kitchen is absolutely delicious-- everything! From the cappuccinos, to the Cantonese cuisine, to American, it was all delicious delicious! We had a quick meal at the Shangri-La during our trip and the food there was barely edible. I get that most of this review is about food but that's what is most important to some of us ;)

Diana P.

Yelp
Proximity to the convention center made the Grand Hyatt a logical choice. Hyatt hotels are usually pretty nice...but wow. It a a beautiful hotel with top notch staff who take very good care of their guests. I upgraded to a Harbor view room (fantastic view!) and also opted for the Club access. Both were completely worth it. The room was a good size, very clean and modern. I would stay here again if I find myself in Hong Kong again in the future.

Hannah D.

Yelp
The best hotel in Wanchai. Located close to the MTR, close to the Ferry and within distance to Central. Absolutely beautiful and outstanding service. Beautiful room overlooking the harbor, stunning amenities (perfect gym!) and some of the best room service I've ever had. The staff was very helpful and always available to answer questions or assist. I was there on business for 7 days and never had an issue getting somewhere, making copies, using the facilities or reserving dining reservations or a car. Highly recommend. You definitely get what you pay for. Also, connects to the convention center for easy access!! Besides the renaissance hotel, all others are more than a 10 min walk!

Courtney L.

Yelp
A truly wonderful stay. We used a diamond member suite upgrade, and the view overlooking Victoria Harbour and the skyline was worth every penny. Breakfast buffet was also absolutely worth it. A made to order omelet and noodle bar, various dim sum, Indian cuisine, and of course, the traditional Western breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage and pastries. The lounge's happy hour was self-service which is always nice and the selection was wonderful. It also has great views and was typically very crowded. Get there early for a window seat. I really enjoyed our stay here, but the hotel is a little out of the way. It took us about 20 minutes to walk to the Star Ferry, but this will probably be a lot quicker once the waterfront construction is complete. Also as an FYI: you can't actually see the Symphony of Lights from this side of the harbour, so no watching from the comfort of your room. We could just faintly see a few flashing beams.. you need to cross the harbour to see the lights... My absolute favorite feature of our stay was that they provided us with a complimentary smart phone. It included all local calls, and while we already had wireless service since we use Google Fi, it was nice to have the ability to look up maps and google things when we typically would not have wifi or service. I am not sure if the phone comes with all rooms, or only for diamond members, or only for suites. Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Louis G.

Yelp
A great location for my first time in HK! The staff is amazing at every step along the way from check-in to check-out! The room is very comfortable and the Views are spectacular! I enjoyed the pool area with everything you could want- it was open early and closed late and the very well equipped gym is open 24hrs. I loved the fresh flowers in the lobby and the green plants though out the common areas. Thank you for a great stay-you made this trip even better!!

Sam K.

Yelp
I came to this Hyatt as part of my business trip to attend the Hong Kong Fair. This hotel is right next to the convention center, which makes it along with the Renaissance nearby the most convenient hotel for conference attendees. The restaurant is decent, but price is quite steep to eat within the restaurant. Instead right around the convention center, there are quite a few good eats for more local prices. But for this Hyatt, service is great and rooms are large. Can't complain if you are here for business travel :).

Sasha C.

Yelp
I would only choose to stay here over the Hyatt Regency TST if you have Diamond Status with Hyatt. The closest MTR station is Wanchai exit A or C. and then it's still a trek up and down overpasses for about 10 minutes. The cab line here is insane madness at times and poorly manned during peak hours. The bellboy is usually occupied and isn't paying attention fully. The check in desk was relatively smooth and we were promptly upgraded to a suite facing the harbor - gorgeous newly renovated rooms. Dark rich woods and modern furnishings. The breakfast amenity they allowed for Diamond was either full breakfast buffet downstairs or the lounge breakfast. We chose to eat mostly at the buffet - far better than the lounge. We got to enjoy the Canapes each afternoon, pretty tasty and the staff is efficient there. Very friendly as well. I defnitely can't say the same of the rep that I had during Check out- she was not knowledgable about Hyatt's program - misinformed us and I already knew - but was in a rush to cab to the airport. Good thing there is a Diamond hotline and they were able to fix it. We also lost an ATM card on the second floor and the manager was able to find out that the machine had suckered it up- good job on that! the clientele here though are pricks. they all think they're better than the next - not including myself of course. but whatever i didn't allow that to be a damper on my trip. Good try, but Hyatt Regency TST's location is far more convenient.
