5 Michelin-recommended Steakhouses to Visit in Hong Kong and Macau

"This American-style steakhouse at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong employs the prime cuts from Canada, the UK, Japan, and Spain, with dry-aged steaks also available. The executive chef of the restaurant recently brought in the American bison and devised an array of dishes featuring this rare ingredient. The restaurant is divided into three zones and benefits from the elegant environment." - Michelin Guide Digital-Hong Kong Macau

My husband and I came here to celebrate his promotion and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The entrance is outside on the right side just before entering the hotel’s main lobby. I made reservations and emailed to pre-order a cheesecake, and requested seating overlooking the lobby. Everything was smooth and details were even confirmed via WhatsApp the day before. The lobster bisque was split into two portions which was perfect and just enough to share. It wasn’t the typical creamy lobster bisque I’m used to from the states but it was surprisingly good. The broth was rich and flavorful with generous chunks of lobster. The complimentary bread and butter were also excellent. My husband really enjoyed his ribeye and said it was the best he’s had since moving to HK. The mac and cheese was very good and the broccolini was cooked just right. I enjoyed my cod as well though it would have been nice to see another fish option on the menu. Desserts were delicious and the service was attentive throughout the evening. We genuinely felt taken care of the entire night. A photo was taken of us and printed out which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration feel extra special. We left feeling genuinely satisfied and felt the entire experience was truly worth it. I highly recommend this place and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

My parents and I were here for my dad’s birthday. Once seated, we were greeted by our waiter with the menu. The menu knocked off one of the wine glasses. The waiter picked it up quickly but nothing was said. We were asked what kind of water we would like and once the water is given, the next service was not for another 10 minutes after a lot of eye contacts made with the staff. We were told that the place is quite busy today and they are understaffed. Apologies were made but we had already felt a bit let down. We also asked if there would be a non-alcoholic drinks menu for my dad. The staff said yes but it was not given to us until we asked again and was explained that they actually don’t have one but they can make anything we want. The staff eventually recommended a non-alcoholic bubbly beverage and offered it as a complimentary drinks. After we finished the starters and the table was cleared, the staff then gave us the house bread and said we can eat it while we wait for the mains to come. We were actually already wondering before starters if there would be any bread basket but didn’t ask. Maybe every restaurant is just different when it comes to when the bread is served. Anyway, the food was not bad. The steak was great. The toothfish reminds me of Saikyo Miso Yaki Cod. The duck fat potatoes was not what I expected it to be. I thought it would be chunky crunchy potatoes but it turned out to be in the form similar to potato gratin. Desserts were great, the apple crumble was in very big portion. Overall, food is better than the service we received. It’s unlikely that we will visit again.

We had an unforgettable lunch here, with high-end service that was incredibly accommodating. Marvick took note of our food preferences, ensuring there was no cinnamon in any of our dishes. The service was genuinely warm; he even cut our hamburgers in half and offered more onion bread when we wanted it. The food was outstanding, particularly the customized beef tartare prepared by Marvick and the perfectly cooked wagyu sirloin. It was incredibly soft and tender—truly top-notch for a lunch set compared to other steakhouses. Lobster bisque is my personal favorite—it's a must-try!

I came here with family and we enjoyed an exceptional dining experience at the Grand Hyatt Steakhouse. We were seated in an elegantly decorated, semi-private section, which offered the ideal level of privacy we prefer. The food was delicious, and the service was top notch. We were thoroughly satisfied with the overall experience.

As a visitor from overseas, my recent dinner at the Grand Hyatt Steakhouse in Hong Kong was another highlight of my trip. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear we were in for a special moment. The ambience perfectly strikes a balance between classic sophistication and modern elegance. It's the kind of setting that feels luxurious without being stuffy, creating a wonderfully comfortable and intimate atmosphere for an amazing dinner. Of course, the star of the show was undoubtedly the premium USDA Prime Ribeye. Cooked to perfection, it was incredibly tender, flavourful, and truly a cut above. Beyond the exquisite food, what truly elevated our experience was the attentive and very good hospitality of the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and anticipated our needs without being intrusive. Their genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel incredibly well-cared for throughout the entire evening. Booking is required in advance and there are 6.30 ,8.30pm for 2 slots per day.

We had a wonderful experience at this steakhouse! We were guests visiting from overseas, just arrived in HK, very tried, we just walked in - and it was the very first meal we had when we arrived. Elizabeth and Maverick were the best! Their service was outstanding! We didn't have a reservation, it was fully booked, but they made a way for us to be able to get a table. Food was amazing as well as the atmosphere! Thank you again for the wonderful service - definitely a restaurant we would love to come back to in the future! :)

Comfortable ambience, friendly and professional staff (always present and helpful but not overly so), excellent food all executed very well and with generous helpings. For example, we've been to some fine-dining places where the fish option is somehow quite small, but here this is not the case. Goes without saying the steak here is executed to a very high standard. Sides are just as good: we enjoyed the mashed potato a lot. Brownie with soft serve is worth a try too: very decadent and enjoyable. Weekday lunch set is quite a good deal if you want to try a bit of everything on a smaller budget. Great place for celebrations, longer meals, special occasions. (Be sure to mention it when booking!)

Probably the best steak house experience in Hong Kong. Moody dark setting is a good start for any serious steak house. Seating is spacious and private. Food is excellent. Any cut is cooked to order and done with the expertise of a U.S. steak house. The service is attentive and not over bearing. We go back time and time again as it's consistently good. One of our favourite places given my carnivorous partner!

Yelp
Meeting Ronin at the bar was an enlightening experience. His depth of knowledge regarding the science behind crafting clear ice was truly impressive. Not only did he provide intricate details on the process, but he also offered invaluable insights on preventing ice from cracking. Then to the steak, Ronin got my attention with his explanation of the bloodlines of the beef featured on the menu. His ability to dissect and elucidate complex subjects in such a captivating manner was truly fascinating. The menu was impressive, making to want to try EVERYTHING, sampling each dish. So impressed that I found myself returning the very next day, eager to try more shit off the menu. My encounter with the steakhouse was nothing short of extraordinary, great food, amazing drinks, American music. Found bliss, reminded me of home. Made me miss home

Yelp
The Grand Hyatt Steakhouse does a real nice job of creating the ambience and atmosphere of a traditional steak house. The lighting selection and interior design are really spot on. The food I thought was a bit hot or miss. Overall, I did have a good experience here. Food: 3.5 stars Service/atmosphere: 4.25 stars Overall: 3.75 stars Recommendations: truffle fries, key lime pie, truffle musturd The menu has a number of options for steak. I opted for the John Stone Ribeye steak from Ireland. The steak was cooked medium rare but parts of the steak felt a bit closer to rare and was a bit chewy at some parts. The seat on the steak gave it a bit of a charred taste which I didn't like. It may sound like the steak was bad but that's not the case. Overall I did enjoy it but at this price point I do have high expectations. I would opt for the angus steak as the beef from the US is really the best aside from Japanese Wagyu. There are a wide range of choices for sauce and mustards. The crab cakes are also often sited as a must order. On the positive side there is a lot of crab and there isn't that much filler. However, I found them to be just ok taste wise. My favorite parts of the meal were the garlic bread, truffle fries and the key lime pie. I think I may have given a three star review if it weren't for the key lime pie. It is really good and if you like desserts that are a bit tart then please order this. The pie crust is fantastic and really is the star of this dish.

Yelp
This steakhouse is honestly phenomenal. I went for the Black Angus Beef 6oz tenderloin with Blue Cheese topping. Had some truffle mustard on the side as well. Cooked medium. The steak was SO perfect. Cooked perfectly, flavorful, the blue cheese they used was high quality and not overpowering. The truffle mustard...wow please try this. Wasn't expecting a mustard selection but was a nice touch. Sides are shareable. I had the truffle fries, very good, and the green beans which were also yummy. I tried the Spritzer as my cocktail and honestly one of the best I've had. Also went with the Canneles for dessert. They weren't too sweet, strong rum flavor that doesn't linger too long, and they catch it on fire which is fun. Please go! Worth every penny.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I went there with my best friend and we ordered a porter house, prawn cocktail and a small apple crumble. We also had red wine and it's really a fulfilling meal. It's pricey but if you're with your loved ones or just go there once in a while it's worth it.

Yelp
My favorite steakhouse in Hong Kong since they opened. The service is great; the ambience is classic steakhouse and the steaks are standout! We've tried a number of different steaks here, and they are all delicious. A point to note though, they consistently undercook the steaks so if you want a medium rare, order a medium. Great oysters and soups to start as well.

Yelp
Surprisingly poor service for a top rated restaurant within a five star hotel in Hong Kong. Food quality was very good but over shadowed by the rushed and indifferent servers.
