Great proximity of about 5 minutes walk to Taipei 101 and easy access to shopping mall & food court in Taipei 101 and MRT station near by. The hotel’s breakfast menu includes local and international food. The restaurant is clean and servers were super friendly. The overall stay experience was excellent and highly recommended.

Wonderful stay at grand hyatt with family during lunar new year. The city is super congested with vacationing crowds but the hotel staff is handling all very well. Service at checkin, breakfast buffet, room cleaning is efficient and always courteous. Will definitely stay here again

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Taipei as a family and it ended up being a major part of why we enjoyed Taipei as much as we did. The location is outstanding, right in the Xinyi district, steps from Taipei 101, with easy skywalk access to malls, restaurants, and the metro. It made moving around the city effortless, especially with kids. We had a suite on a high floor, and it exceeded expectations: very spacious, great city views, and two large bathrooms, which made a big difference for a family. A thoughtful welcome setup (fruit, cookies, wine) was a nice touch after a long journey. Breakfast deserves special mention. The main buffet downstairs was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had anywhere: extensive, high quality, and worth paying extra for even though we also had lounge access. The lounge breakfast was perfectly fine and convenient, but the main buffet was on another level. The hotel itself is large and can feel a bit busy at times, but staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool and grounds were a great bonus, especially in the afternoon. Overall, the Grand Hyatt is an excellent choice for Taipei: comfortable, well-located, and reliable. We would happily stay here again and would recommend it as a strong home base for exploring the city.

We spent 6 nights here during our Asia trip. Even though the hotel has a bit of a dated feel to it, it also contributes to the charm of it. It truly is "grand". Our room was serviced every night and the amenities are top notch. Gym has modern equipment and is cleaned by staff soon after being used. Location is unmatched, if you care to be near Taipei 101. There's a direct access bridge to get to the mall, and it's also walking distance to the other mall and attractions near there. Of course, the MRT station is also down the block from the hotel. Only complaint are the pillows are quite flat, which I would expect a 5 star hotel to have more cushiony pillows.

I have not stayed at the hotel yet, so this review is limited to the reservation modification experience only. I booked my stay well in advance at a favorable rate. When I attempted to extend my reservation through the online system, the reservation was automatically repriced at a significantly higher rate. Unfortunately, there was no clear notice or warning indicating that modifying the reservation would result in a full rate reset. Once the modification was confirmed, I was informed that no adjustments could be made. I tried to call hotel and Hyatt world and recieve same answer. I am sharing this feedback simply as a heads-up for future guests: if you need to make changes to your reservation, it may be safer to contact the hotel directly rather than modifying the booking online.

Absolutely Excellent 5 star experience! Beautiful hotel located right next to Taipei 101. Because is a huge hotel I was expecting service to be poor, but was very happy and surprised with the service and staff. I wish they weren't all wearing masks all the time. Breakfast was amazing but if you come after 9am be prepared to wait in line. Wish the cool toilet had English so I could have pressed buttons and been impressed. Nothing to complain about! Even the price I paid via AMEX fine hotels program was fully worth it. Looking forward to staying here again during my next visit to Taipei.... As long as the mainland isn't going to cause issues (Jan/26).

Great experience. Very very luxurious upscale hotel. Super convenient location. Next to 101 and the trade center. Staff very friendly Continental breakfast is high quality and cocktail with hors d'oeuvres is a great touch. The amenities are good and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. That's why I feel like this hotel is great for business and also for personal travel with family. I came with my wife and my preteen kids and we really enjoyed it But I see plenty of people on business trips that also took advantage of the amenities

Stayed for 5 nights in January 2026. First impression were Wow for the entrance. Grand and large. Rooms were Club room with a view of 101. The room was large but outdated. Needs freshibg up as paint and water marks appearing around windows. Room large but not configured well and it seems smaller than what it is. Club is not worth it. Overcrowded for pre dinner drinks and cocktails. A lot of people use it as dinner and the staff cannot keep up with refreshing food. The place shows the worst attitude of people. The staff though are brilliant at attempting to please customers demands not withstanding the attitude shown by some customers towards them. Restaurants on the premises are very good. Used the services of Congierge and on the most part very helpful. Overall we felt that it was a Hyatt not up to the standard of the Grand Hyatt brand

Super convenient location! 5 min walk to the xinyi shopping district and the MRT Station. Fairly large rooms, enough to leave 3+ suitcases open.

Pricey, but worth it for the proximity to shopping, MRT lines, and 101. The lobby is super grand and much more updated than the rooms. I found the rooms quite old and ours smelled mildewy when the air was not running. I do think that guest services are really great though. Our room was always spotless after housekeeping, and an item of laundry I sent to wash came back perfect and hanging in the closet like it had never even left! I booked an extra room for my parents on one of the nights and mentioned it was for my mom's birthday, and they set out a complimentary birthday cake for her, which was very sweet. I had also booked them a room with lounge access, which unfortunately we didn't really get to enjoy, but for the brief moment I was up there, the view of 101 is really nice. Do be aware that given the convenience of this hotel it is heavily frequented by tourists and large tour groups. If this is not the vibe you are looking for, then I would not stay here.

Convenient location, walkable to Taipei 101, MRT station, and the convention center. Clean, beautiful lobby with nice bakery and drinks. The breakfast buffet is very nice as well. Lovely hotel, high end service and amenities. The rooms themselves are a little dated but they are well upkept. The hotel has a nice spa and gym.

We booked the grand executive 101 view suite for three people and it was very spacious. Staff had already set up a rollaway bed and it was fairly comfortable. Club access was convenient and we enjoyed getting breakfast daily. I didn't experience cocktail hour in the late afternoon/early evening, but I was told there are small bites to enjoy. The gym was extremely busy in the mornings. All the treadmills were taken and several of the machines as well. It's interesting how the gym is split up into several smaller rooms. Equipment was well-maintained and there's also an outdoor lap pool. We had read about "hauntings" for this hotel specifically, but are happy to report no paranormal activity during our stay here. Staff were all very friendly and eager to help. The daily complimentary cookies were a nice treat to look forward to.

Unbelievable place to stay in Taipei. This time I got lucky and was upgraded to one of the finest suite in the hotel. Needless to say, I am very grateful to those who gave me the eye-opening experience. Now my biggest concern is "being spoiled" and will only settle for one of the suites on 24th floor whenever I return again. My sincere thanks to the hotel staff for their above and beyond services to make my latest stay surpassed all my previous experiences. No doubt, I will be back!

This is a world-class hotel. Big modern rooms that are immaculately maintained, beautiful lobby and public spaces (with some amazing artwork), and warm and friendly front desk service. There's a nicely maintained outdoor pool (I think about 22 m in length), with the water temp being just about right. Spa is very nice as well (included in the room rate), with a big hot tub, cold plunge pool, dry sauna, and steam room. Location is hard to beat, with almost a direct connection with the big Taipei 101 complex, as well as the nearby Breeze shopping center and others. Breakfast buffet is impressive, with a huge spread of both Asian and Western cuisine (and unlike Japanese hotels, Taiwanese hotels know how to do Western breakfast!). We chose a room on the Club Lounge level, which was a little more expensive, but well worth it, since it gave us access to that lounge. There's a smaller but still excellent breakfast buffet there every morning, as well as a light dinner and happy hour that includes unlimited drinks. Sodas and other soft drinks, as well as the usual excellent coffee machine, are available throughout the day. Overall, had an excellent stay!

In December, I made my first visit ever to Taiwan. I had booked a room at the Grand Hyatt hotel and used a suite upgrade to secure an excellent one bedroom, suite. Everything was terrific and housekeeping did an excellent job. They were persistent each day to get in and clean the room. I appreciated their conscientiousness. The daily breakfast buffet was excellent, and always very crowded. The hotel offered a wide selection of breakfast choices both Chinese and Western. The location was excellent and just across the street from the Taipei 101 building. Access to the local subway system was just down the street. My only negative comment regarding the service was the check in late on a Sunday night. I had a very exhausting flight from Texas and I just wanted to check in, shower and go to sleep. The check-in desk took a very long time with each guest. It seemed very unreasonable. The amount of time to wait seemed excessive to normal hotel check-ins and there weren't that many people in line. It was further complicated, because there was a separate "World of Hyatt" line to service those members, but it really wasn't clearly marked. The gentleman in front of me, who also stated that he was a Hyatt Globalist, started yelling at the check-in clerks, because it was taking so long.. if there was any room for improvement, it would certainly be with the check-in process.

First time visiting Taipei and decided to stay at Grand Hyatt based on status. You can easily redeem rooms for 30K pts, but they were offering a Stay 2 Get 1 night free promotion that was a better deal for the Executive Suite Room. For $400/night, it's on par with the other high-end hotels in Taipei. Area: Located right next to Taipei 101 and other shopping areas. It's a bit more of a commercial area so you'll need to take transit to get anywhere. The MTR is a 5min walk. Room: The executive suite rooms are located at the end of the hotels (2 on each floor) and are super spacious. Comes with lounge access You can find videos online. There's a Nespresso in the room and complimentary water, welcome wine, cookies and fruit. It was plenty of space for 3 adults and a toddler. My favorite is the bathroom where you have floor to ceiling windows to enjoy while you are taking a bath. Rooms are a bit old, but still very clean. I appreciate that they have various chargers available in the room should you forget one behind. Club lounge: Complimentary breakfast (7-1030) and cocktail hour (530-730). Decent spread of hot and cold items. It can't compare to the options at the breakfast buffet, but it's much less crowded, which is nice. Outside these hours, aside from coffee and fountain drinks, there's very limited food/snack options. Club oasis: 5th floor is home to a nice gym split into 3 areas, outdoor pool with lanes enough to do laps (?20y; they also have floaties for kids), gender specific spa rooms (birthday suit only), and a kids play area that is fantastic for toddlers on rainy or hot days to get some entertainment. The spa rooms are fantastic with a lounge area, steam/sauna room and a jacuzzi and cold plunge pool.

We had a great four night stay at grand Hyatt Taipei. The hotel is nicely taken care of, our room was clean and modern, and we had a beautiful view of Taipei 101 and the mountains Checking in is faster with World of Hyatt membership especially if you arrive at the same time as a bus load of guests. Concierge is also very helpful with all types of questions. It was my son's birthday and they were thoughtful and sent up a cake for him. The hotel is also very conveniently located. Just outside is a walking bridge that takes you straight into Taipei 101 where you can shop, eat at the extensive food court, go to the top of the building, or hop on the metro. Shopping is also all around the surrounding area. We'll definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit

Probably one of the nicer hotels in Taipei walking distance to Taipei 101 and the World Trade Center of Taiwan sits very near the city hall. It's grand in its spectacular entrance and foyer but lacks the space and luxurious facilities that should accompany the grand hotel like this. They have very limited shopping space and have few interesting restaurants but the service is pretty decent and the prices are reasonably high. The lack of door wait staffs in side entrance and very few support staffs at the front lobby also adds to four stars. Overall very good place for stay.

4.5 stars. The hotel is showing its age but it's still an affordable luxury hotel and overall a lovely stay. We were in a standard room for our first 5 nights, and then we booked an Grand Executive Suite w/ 101 View for the last 5 nights of our trip. What an amazing suite that was, it's bigger than our apartment back at home in the Bay Area! A heads up though that the "Grand Executive Suite" and the "Grand Executive Suite w/ 101 view" are dramatically different rooms but the price points aren't too far apart, though confusingly the name is almost the same. So if you're booking a suite, go for the room with the 101 view because it is much more luxurious. Location - cannot get any better than this if you're wanting to be near major tourist locations, not only limited to the Xinyi area, because there is a MRT station in the same block. And it is right next to Taipei 101 and there is even a covered skywalk from hotel to 101, and that came in handy when it was raining during our trip. Hard product - loved the Toto bidet toilet seats (though in our first room the instructions were all in Mandarin so others in our party had a harder time understanding how to use it). Bed is comfortable and extra pillows were delivered upon request. Shower had decent pressure (stronger on the hand-held shower than the rain shower) and heated up fairly quickly. Mirrors in the bathroom were somewhat heated so they didn't fog easily. Waters were provided daily and there is a standard amount of fridge space if needed. We were on the 16th floor and were able to hear street noise (trucks beeping, construction across the street), but it was muffled enough that it wasn't a bother. Soft product - excellent service! In our first room, our AC wasn't working (it was hot and humid when we first got in) so I called the front desk and they sent someone from maintenance quickly, literally within 10 minutes, and he fixed the problem within 5 minutes. He said a water pipe got turned off in the ceiling unit so he turned it back on and all was well about 15 minutes later once the room cooled down again. Front desk (FD) was helpful in explaining things at check-in and throughout when we had questions about logistics around upgrading our rooms. Concierge helped me exchange some large bills for smaller bills. The only miss is that when we arrived around 7AM, someone at the FD said we should have our room ready by 10AM, but when I called around 11AM to check, they said it wasn't ready yet and to check back after 3PM, which was a bummer since our Amex FHR should get us noon check-in at the latest. Nevertheless we were out shopping anyway so it wasn't a big deal, and we came back at 2PM to find the rooms were ready and our luggage was already delivered to the rooms. I also appreciated that when we went to level 5 (the gym/spa) to brush our teeth and wash our faces after our flight before our room was ready, a staff member directed us to the restrooms and then came back with toothbrushes and a small tube of toothpaste. I loved that proactive and thoughtful service. In terms of logistics, I loved that when we upgraded our room halfway through the stay, the FD said to simply leave our zipped up luggage in our first room and they will move it in the afternoon to our new room, and they indeed did that as promised. That was extremely helpful since we didn't have to come back to move it ourselves and could spend more time out and about. Dining - The Cafe buffet for dinner was OK; there are better food options out and about in Taipei for a better price point, but we dined here on our first night out of convenience. Eclectic mix of international cuisines, though more quantity over quality. Free breakfast (we booked via Amex FHR) was also OK; we tried it once and then opted to eat locally at mom & pops in the area after that. We ordered room service (Taiwanese breakfast) one day and it was pretty good, though pricey for what you get. Anyway, I recommend this place. It's affordable (standard rooms when we booked were less than $200/night), comfortable, and in an excellent location. I did see that they're building a Park Hyatt and Andaz nearby so I'm curious how these hotels will compare, but for now this is one of the best value hotels in the area IMO!

Door to one room was broken. Let them know and they are fixing it now. Spacious room otherwise with bathtub and shower. There's even a bottle of wine in the room ready to go.

Used combo of points and cash to stay here for 7 nights. It's better than expected stay. Before coming, I read about how this place is very dated and rooms smell moldy. Also everyone kept telling me this place is haunted. We didn't experience any haunted stuff phew. No expectations no disappointments. I booked a king size room and got upgraded to deluxe king room. The room and bathroom are not bad. It's decent maintained. I don't think it smelled bad. Didn't ask for dehumidifier like some other suggested. Soundproof was fine. Bathroom is clean. Breakfast buffet was pretty decent and got tons of choices but it did get old after few days. Wish they would change the menu more often. The line to get in can def get long but we didn't have much issues with it. Service was fine as well. Good location. We took subway and Uber around. Club lounge on 22nd floor was decent as well. Pretty decent stay. It recently got downgraded from a category 4 to a category 3 property so it's a decent deal. Looking forward to Andaz Taipei and Park Hyatt Taipei opening in 2025 or 2026.

Loved our family's stay here at the grand hyatt taipei. Iconic location and property next to taipei 10. Beautiful and spacious high floor lounge with good eats for breakfast and what could be a light dinner. Hyatts are especially nice overseas and this one is no exception with expansive lobby and nice pool deck. We had larger rooms at both ends to accommodate more people, and everyone loved spaciousness of the rooms and extra bathroom. Gracious service at the front desk and concierge who helped get us some train tickets (for a reasonable fee) and saved us a lot of time.

For my first visit to Taipei and Taiwan, I booked here because it's part of a familiar worldwide brand, had reasonable rates and seemed well-located. I was pleased with my choice; the hotel is large, has many amenities (especially dining options), and is close to lots of luxury shopping, Taipei 101 in particular. Taking the MRT from Taoyuan Airport requires a transfer at the large Taipei Main Station, so I pre-booked a private transfer via Klook while still in the US. There is also a bus that apparently can take you from the airport to Taipei 101. I arrived very early, around 7 am. The hotel really does not do early check-in unless you reserve a room the night before arrival, so I lolled about for 4 hours and was allowed to check in at 11 am. I was able to freshen up in the fitness centre and did some exploring of the hotel and the adjacent neighbourhood. Some reviewers say the hotel is "dated", and it does have a 20th century appearance, but it doesn't detract from the hotel's offerings. It has a grand, soaring lobby, an extensive amount of event space as well as a plethora of restaurants located on 3 separate floors. The fitness centre, spa and outdoor pool are above the lobby. The fitness centre is divided into separate rooms for aerobic/yoga classes, cardio, and weights. Other reviewers mentioned long lines at check-in. The reception area is smallish with usually 2 staffers working, plus another at the separate World of Hyatt desk, used by guests with Hyatt status. I occasionally notices lines, but never huge. My room was a Deluxe King, similarly furnished but slightly larger that a regular King. It had a partial (angled to the left)Taipei 101 view. There's one of those card slots by the door to turn on the power. It was roomy enough, but the carpeting was stained and some of the furnishings had seen better days. Not all of the outlets/USB ports worked. The closet was sizable and the minibar fridge had space for your own items. The bathroom was pretty spacious with a Japanese-style toilet, a shower with 2 heads and separate tub. The hotel has 10 (!) restaurants/lounges, of which I tried 3 (multiple times). 1) Cafe. Extensive buffets for breakfast (hotel guests only), lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. 2) Irodori. Japanese seafood buffet for lunch and dinner, plus many sake choices. 3) Yun Jin. Fancy Chinese (Sichuan, Shanghai, etc.) lunch and dinner. 4) Pearl Liang. Slightly less fancy Cantonese Chinese, including dim sum for lunch and dinner. 5) Bel Air Grill. Fancy steakhouse lunch and dinner. 6) Ziga Zaga. Italian lunch and dinner. 7) Cheers. Bar/lounge with a light meal menu, outdoor terrace and live evening entertainment. 8) Baguette. Takeaway coffee/beverages, sandwiches, breads, cakes. 9) Cha Lounge. All-vegetarian buffet for weekend lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. 10) Club. 22nd floor for members or Hyatt elites only. Service at the restaurants I tried (Cafe, Iridori and Cheers) was great, but Cheers was understaffed. Housekeeping was also fab. Most of the nearby shopping is in the luxury category. Most notable are the shops at Taipei 101 (there's a covered walkway from the hotel), which also has restaurants and an impressive food court, including Din Tai Fung. Also notable are the Breeze shopping areas (there are several). Park Hyatt and Andaz (connected) hotels are under construction nearby, as is a Four Seasons. The closest MRT stations are Taipei 101/World Trade Center for the Red line and Taipei City Hall for the Blue line. The National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is a 10 minute walk and highly recommended. Overall great stay.

We paid A LOT of money to stay here when we went to JoJo's wedding. We stayed in a King Bed 101 View Room with club access. We got a discounted group rate arranged by the bride, which included the free breakfast buffet each day. When we made the reservation, we asked for early check-in because we were arriving in Taipei at about 6:00 AM. We were told that there was no early check-in and we would have to purchase another day, which is ridiculous. The front desk was also not helpful when we arrived. So we sat around the lobby for about 5 hours (leaving once to go to a convenience store). I usually just roll with the punches, but after 14 hours on an airplane, we were not in the mood to wander around a city where we knew no one and did not speak the language. I saw in another review that they were offered the opportunity to freshen up in the gym/spa. That accommodation was not offered to us. We finally got a room at about 1:00 PM after I literally camped out at the front desk. Honestly, that experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that it didn't get much better with me and the front desk. I know we're not the only people to arrive hours before 3:00 PM. But you'd swear this was a rarity based on their attitudes. The housekeeping staff was amazing when we called for extra blankets or coffee pods and creamer. They usually arrived within 5-10 minutes no matter what time of day. The "premium" room that we were in was decent. I wouldn't consider it 5-star accommodations though. I did love the heated bidet and toiletries in the room though. The channel selection was limited and some of the English-speaking ones went out a couple of times. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food, but I didn't like most of the stuff that I tried. So I stuck with the same thing most days, which was a made-to-order egg scramble, sambal veggies, toast, watermelon juice and coffee. There was a server named Elsa who went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. Bottom line: do I feel like we got our money's worth at this hotel? No. Would I stay there again? No. The third star is for Elsa.

We booked Grand Hyatt through Amex Fine Hotel program, which came with a complimentary bottle of red wine (though the wine wasn't very good). We had a room facing 101, albeit a lower floor but we didn't mind that much. The view was very nice, though the room itself showed its age (scuff marks on the walls, obvious stains on the carpet, decor a bit dated) and wasn't very large, but the bathroom was nicely upgraded. Check in took a bit of time as there was quite a line of people and each party took a while to go through the process. Staff was patient and friendly though. They will deliver your suitcase to the room for you, especially if they take it from you at the door before you check-in. The gym and pool are on the same floor and are fairly large, you do have to provide a card each time to access. If you're a Hyatt member, you can also take complimentary fitness classes, but we found it hard to make the schedule given our daytime activities (there's a few per day). The gym itself is fairly large with a good amount of equipment (two room, a bigger one and a smaller one with more free weights), though there were always a lot of people there as well. They have used/clean signs you can flip so someone will come around periodically and sanitize, though they also have wet wipes you can utilize on your own. Lobby of the Grand Hyatt was huge, had a fountain and ginormous Christmas tree. There's plenty of conference rooms on the first few floors. There's a bit of retail on the first floor, plus the bar/lounge and restaurant. If your stay comes with breakfast, definitely recommend coming early as it gets busy. They have lots of hot food, cold foods, breads/pastries, an omelet station (usually a line), espresso machines, juices, and fruit. Very large selection and some items change on a daily basis. All in all, nice stay but it is a bit more of a dated hotel. Excellent location, literally around the block from the 101 MRT station, and walking distance to all the nearby shopping malls.

Grand Hyatt Taipei has a few excellent qualities. It's located literally across the street from Taipei 101 and adjacent to an MRT station. From TPE airport, you'll have to switch at Taipei main station. Some rooms have excellent views. Overall, rooms are well furnished with beautiful bathrooms, great lighting, lots of outlets. I found the bed to be extremely comfortable. The gym is well equipped and there's a well maintained pool which is an awesome perk in hot and humid Taipei. A Globalist friend booked my stay using points as a Guest of Honor. The breakfast buffet was top notch. Not the best I've seen in Asia (which is a really high bar), but miles ahead of what you will be offered in North America or Europe. Tons of hot and cold options covering American, European, and Asian tastes. In contrast I felt that the club lounge offerings were a bit limited and it was really difficult to get a drink - the staff seemed really overwhelmed even though it was not full. They did proactively offer me late Globalist check out. This is still probably one of the best hotels in Taipei and competitively priced. However, I think there are service touches that prevent it from being a true "luxury" hotel. Staff members were aloof and weren't able to provide recommendations. On check in, there wasn't an overview of the amenities in the hotel like I would expect. I didn't learn that the spa facilities were available for use without a paid treatment (they have a Japanese style sauna, hot tub, etc). I was disappointed not to be upgraded considering there were many "base suites" available for the duration of my stay. I would stay again for the location, breakfast, and value.

We came back for our second stay and were even more impressed. Our deluxe suite with 101 view was fantastic and housekeeper Lan was friendly and such a breath of fresh air every day. Concierge Daisy and Roger were particularly helpful for any requests from helping our kids get registered for cooking camp, to figuring out laundry and how to get our international plans activated. Everyone was cheerful and so welcoming. The weather was so hot this time around in the summer but the hotel was the perfect place to recover from the heat. We enjoyed the lounge and the amazing breakfast buffet at the cafe each morning. Sometimes we had food we wanted out of the hotel but would still never miss the breakfast spread. The kids loved all the many options for traditional food, fruit and pastries as well as items they were familiar with from home in CA. I also purchased an Anta Teacup set and strainer from the lovely shop next to the bakery in the lobby. These ladies were so patient with me. We stayed for 10 days and I purchased the set after walking by and looking at it and chatting with them for 8 days straight! We know that there is a Park Hyatt and Andaz opening soon nearby but I think we will always be back to this property because of our fond memories and welcoming treatment for our family.

Hyatt always delivers in terms of experience and hospitaltiy. Conveniently located right by the Taipei 101, you're super accessible to all of the major sites of the city plus some really good restaurants, bars, cafes nearby. The hotel itself was super clean, big, and staff very friendly. Love the gym which I got to use their free weights and cardio equipment quite frequently. THeir outdoor pool was also supper nice especially if you wanted to cool off after a long day, and the massages that they provided were apparently very good according to my fiance. The breakfast - now that's next level. You have an assortment of high quality, foods in a buffet format from taiwan, china, western cuisine, a noodle bar, omelette bar etc. One of the best breakfast buffets that I have tried. Will love to stay here again when we are back

I don't often stay in hotels when I'm in Taiwan but my friend and I decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt for four days during our latest trip. The hotel itself is absolutely impressive in appearance. It's large and has some great amenities. I love the amount of elevators and speed of the elevators so you don't have to wait for long periods of time just to get to and from your room. Additionally, the rooms are so big and spacious. Everything was very comfortable. A huge selling point is their grand breakfast buffet. It does get crowded and you only get one hour to eat but it's more than enough. There are so many items to try from a traditional omelette bar, Chinese selection, congee bar, soy milk bar etc etc. Lots of items to please everyone. Try to enter the buffet earlier. It opens at 6:30 AM and there is always a line before it opens. All in all, a solid hotel option in Taipei and bonus that is so close to Taipei 101.

Definitely my go to hotel when visiting Taipei. This place is right in the heart and next to the 101. Here is why you should stay here: 1) This place has a delicious free breakfast buffet. Food is actually good and lots of selections. It does get busy so just know that you might have to wait in line. But honestly the line isn't that bad, even if it looks bad. Only downside is that you only get 1 hour to eat, but that was more than enough time for me. 2) There is a 7/11 in walking distance in the World Trade Center B3 - gotta love that 7/11 3) Skybridge to 101 accessible to all those expensive stores and AFFORDABLE food court food. And YES, you should eat their Ding Tai Feng, it's MUCH better than America's version. Disclaimer: there will be a 1-3 hours wait per usual. 3) Rooms are clean with a beautiful bathroom. They come to clean on Mon day and Wednesday (I think) and on the other days they just tidy up and refill towels etc. They have bath towels and slippers. The cherry on top was when they noticed I had two kids and they gave me two little toothbrushes and two little slippers. My heart.... 4) Clean beautiful hotel with friendly staff members. 5) MY ONLY ANNOYING part of this was... there are no trashcans anywhere... but thats pretty much all of Taiwan... LOL so keep a little bag of trash with you so that when you do see a trashcan you can unload it and not litter :) 6) Easy to get a taxi (highly recommended 7) Fast and MANY MANY elevators so you don't have to wait around... like some hotels 8) I could see 101 from my bedroom, had I stayed for New Years.. I would've had the perfect most comfortable view.

Truly a great 5 star hotel. The rooms are beautiful the service even better. The food in the restaurants amazing and I loved my two weeks there.

Beautiful hotel that is located walking distance to Taipei 101 and other great tourist attractions and popular restaurants. The hotel was decorated with a gorgeous Christmas tree in the center of the lobby which brought us in the holiday spirit. The helpers at the front desk were wonderful when helping us use our comped breakfast meal from booking with American Express. The staff went out of their way to walk us to the direction of the building crossing to get to the mall. The rooms were very comfortable with extremely modern designs for the shower and hallways. We enjoyed our stay!

I went to Taipei for the first time and this hotel added major points in my book. The customer service was so nice and provided you with anything you needed. The lounge had delicious food and drinks. Our master bedroom was giant. The bathroom had a bidet and an amazing window view! You get a lot of free things including lotion, cotton pads, slippers (with kids sizes), fruits and waters. Its also walking distance to Taipei 101 which is very convenient. Overall, an amazing hotel!

The one star is for the looks and location. Beyond that, this is not the service you should expect of a 5-star hotel. Furthermore, I asked to be billed in TWD at check in. I was charged in USD with a FIFTEEN percent markup. I am credit card savvy and used a 0% foreign exchange fee card, so I had a reason I wanted TWD. Unbelievable that several hundreds of dollars stolen from me.

Stayed here early Dec 2022 and glad nothing happened...Why did I say that? Just days before checking in the hotel, I decided to read the yelp reviews and came to realize this hotel is known to be haunted. Freaky! Pros: 1. Great location: The hotel was kind of a landmark in the Xinyi District. Pretty much adjacent to the Taipei World Trade Center and walking distance to many fancy and high-end department stores, plus Taipei 101 and several food courts. Couple MRT lines (Red and Blue) are in walking distance too. 2. Club Lounge is open: We've travelled many times and stayed at many Hyatts during Covid. Most of the lounges were still closed. It's great to find out they are open. My parents came to stay with us and they were impressed with the lounge and happily showed off to their friends after having the 5th cup of coffee.. 3, Valet staff are outstanding: They are very friendly and helpful. One petite lady insisted to carry hubby's luggage to the taxi.. 4. Breakfast buffet: It's rated one of the best in Taipei and we did enjoy it. Pro tip: Go early. We arrived at 7am both days and after we finished (1 hour 15 mins limit) the line waiting to get in were really long. 5. Rooms: Spacious, quiet and bed comfy. 6. Easy Check-out: Can simply drop off the card keys to a mailbox and no need to speak to any front desk staff. (My parents were pleasantly surprised.) Cons: 1. The hallways are very dark and creepy!! I do feel someone is watching me! I have eye condition (night blindness) and without companion, I had trouble seeing the room number signs. One time I had to ask the housekeeping staff to escort me to my parents' room. (The staff were very helpful!) 2. Wish they stop providing small shampoo/bath bottles and be more eco-friendly. Will I stay here again? Will have to think about it....As Andaz is under construction, maybe we'll consider it instead next time in Taipei.

I went to visit my sister who stayed here last weekend. The hotel is modern but kind of dark. I guess I like brightness more. It is very convenient to everything. I love the bookstore and food court nearby.

The hotel is itself a very nice property but hasn't improved much in the room upgrade or there restaurants like Cheers etc. The Gym is very nice and past covid they do have some hygienic protocols in place. The breakfast buffet is very lavish and the Indian selections are pretty good. It can get extremely busy and chaotic as it gets very crowded. They can improve there front lobby experience and train the staff to be friendlier. They do not honor the rate you book and you get charged higher few days depending on the occupancy of the hotel. It's an unfair way but no real answers were given as to why they charge a higher rate on certain days. The Pizza at Ziga Ziga is very delicious. Cheers has room for improvement in service and selection of dishes that are just okay. Hotel is very near to shopping (101 mall) and eating so it's very convenient. Airport is about 30 minutes away.

Stayed here for a four day period at the end of a two month around-the-world trip. A grand property with quality staff, the Grand Hyatt Taipei has so many dining options, a grand lobby, and a score of little details (bowl of fresh fruit, an earthquake safety card, electronic door "hangers" requesting room service or privacy, minibar, bathrobes, entertainment audio piped into the bathroom, etc.) that made the stay memorable. I loved being able to walk over to Taipei 101 using the adjoining sky bridge. There I found a good court full of affordable options and a grocery store. The room was spacious with a marble bathroom with separate tub and shower, a separate sitting area, and plenty of closet space. Overall, I would love to stay here again!

I've come to Taiwan many times but this trip was my first time in a hotel (I usually stay with family). The Grand Hyatt Taipei is the perfect hotel for travelers that want all the amenities of staying in a grand hotel in a location that is geared for Western travelers (Xinyi District). The hotel is located steps away from Taipei 101 and even has a footbridge that connects to Taipei 101 right outside one of the exits. The MRT station is also conveniently 1 block away and taxis routinely are parked in the rotunda for guests to take. The lobby is grand and exquisite. Service here is impeccable and all staff speak some if not good English. Rooms here are decent sized with nice modern decor. View we had was just so-so (got the side of TP 101) but that was minor. TV options in the hotel were kind of limited and the programming was honestly subpar but you really shouldn't be spending that much time in your room since Taipei is a great city. Location is really the key here. It's next to TP101 but also just steps from the Xinyi shopping district that has Shin Kong Mitsukoshi as well as Breeze. There should be no lack of shopping opportunities here. Dining options here are plentiful (but $$$ by Taiwanese standards) but there are good inexpensive local options if you're willing to walk a bit. There is always the TP101 food court or if you really want local, a bunch of restaurants on Keelung Road and some stalls right on the side streets behind the Sun Yat Sen monument and park. Overall, this is a great place to stay in Taipei. Prices are pretty pricey for Taiwan standards (about 250-300 US a night) but well worth it IMO.

After visiting Taroko Gorge for a few days, we took the TRA from Hualien to Songshan, and caught a taxi to the Grand Hyatt that's conveniently situated right across from TP101. We checked in the afternoon and were given a nice room on a higher floor, as requested, but no upgrades due to capacity at the hotel. Since we didn't plan on staying very long due to an early morning flight to HK, therefore we were happy with the accommodations as the room was spacious (as expected for GH line) and the hotel itself was very nicely done. The Hyatt Brands in Asia definitely blow the US ones out of the water! The beautiful lobby, friendly staff, clean rooms, and a nice box of chocolates as a welcome gift definitely makes this hotel a no-brainer for a repeat stay in the future the next time I'm in Taipei. It's also conveniently located right next to TP101, great eats, and public transportation too! Thanks again GH Taipei for welcoming us and the nice touch with beautiful red roses to celebrate our travel adventure with my 包子 bae uwu

The Grand Hyatt Taipei is a pretty luxurious option. I booked a Club Deluxe King room on points, so I was able to enjoy the complimentary club lounge. Holy moly, the Club Happy Hour alone made the upgrade worth it. You could eat a satisfying dinner here, and it looked like many patrons did. They had an extensive variety of snacks and hot food. Drinks are self-pour, and there were solid mid-shelf offerings. The Club Breakfast was good, but nothing to rave about. Apparently the main breakfast buffet is where it's at. I couldn't complain with free though. Other highlights: -Deluxe room was spacious and very clean. -Really soft, smooth sheets and comfortable bed. -Spacious bathroom with good lighting (why is this so rare) and rain shower. -Nice outdoor pool with poolside bar service. -Guests have complimentary access to their onsite membership gym, including classes and gender separate bath/spa. -Staff spoke good English. My only complaint was that they forgot to reset the room alarm clock. We were woken up at 4 am! When we informed the staff at checkout, we got a feeble apology with no clear commitment to do better.

Gorgeous lobby in this hotel with very attentive and helpful staff like Andy and Jess? The water fountain and ceiling lights are beautiful. We stayed here a week and the location is ideal as it's across the street from Taipei 100 where we had meals there frequently to try different things at the food court and to shop for food or tea items. The room was sunny with electric curtains and views of the mountains in the distance and city dwellers close by. The bed was comfortable but like most hotels in Taipei, the pillows were too soft or flattens easily. Just so bad for my neck. Bathroom was spacious with separate shower and tub, big towels, toiletries with mini Colgate toothpaste, Q tips, cotton pads, shaving cream, toothpaste in a storage box. There are soaps, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and the shower has interesting sliding doors on both sides with a regular shower head and overhead rain shower head. Housekeeping was inconsistent at times. We asked for extra towels but didn't get them. Then another day we got extra hand towels but no bath rug. There is an electric kettle for hot water, perfect for Hubby's coffee fix and a cup of Taiwan tea if I wanted. We had breakfast twice at their multicultural buffet approx $30 USD. I've never seen a buffet like this before at a hotel but we are not fans of buffets because we don't eat like football linebackers and it's just too much food. Not to be misleading with false impressions that this is a buffet comparable to ones you find in Vegas, but it is all you can eat. There are pastries, minimal Japanese style breakfast, Chinese, cook to order section for omelets, Indian, cold cuts with cheese and lox , juice and milk, fruit, bread, congee and miso soup. They made currency change for us and we bought our bus tickets with 5% added handling fee to take the airport bus when we left. The bus stop is right out front, curbside at the hotel side entrance and starts arriving on the half hour starting at 0800 and after making stops at various hotels, arrived at the airport in 1 hour for us that day. But they tell you to allow 3.5 -4 hrs to get to the airport in case of traffic. Taipei has approximately 2.6 million people and there is a lot of traffic.

Hyatt Taipei has great service! I am very impressed by their attentiveness and professionalism here. I will be always staying here for future Taiwan travels!! I stayed a little over a week and also organized a lunch symposium here on a Sunday. My co workers and the doctors were very pleased with their stay as well. The location is very convenient if you are here for the Taipei World Trade Center or shopping! The hotel is right across of the Taipei 101 building. The gym facility is a great experience. The machines are clean and they have separate rooms for stretching/ yoga, weight lifting and treadmill machines. The General Manager of Hyatt Taipei came to check on the lunch symposium and that everything was taken care of. You tell them what you need, and they will get it for you! He even helped me pick out a cake for a coworker's birthday when I was debating between strawberry cake and coconut and pineapple cake. Overall, great experience!!!

The Grand Hyatt Taipei is simply one of the most underrated and treasured gems in the Hyatt portfolio. Upon arrival, we were quickly escorted to the front desk and check-in was a breeze. With an Explorist status, we were given The Club Deluxe Room with the upgrade, which meant we had access to the club lounge for breakfast and late afternoon cocktails, as well as beverages. This was great for a quick bite or a light breakfast in the morning. The room size was just right for a place in Taiwan. Cozy and modern. The room had electric curtains and views of Taipei 101, which is awesome at nighttime. City views are amazing here. The bed was comfortable and we had requested extra pillows to be...well, extra. Why sleep with only 2 pillows when you can sleep with 6 pillows? The bed itself is like heaven, since we both knocked out within seconds upon contact. I really love the modern design of the Grand Hyatt Taipei's bathroom. The design was spacious and contained all the necessary components: separate shower (my God that shower is off the charts with the pressure and hot water!) and tub, towels, toiletries with toothpaste, Q tips, cotton pads, shaving cream, toothpaste in a storage box. In addition, there are soaps, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and a few other goodies. The gym itself is very nicely-equipped and contains all the right accessories. There is a full rack of weights along with several weight machines and a good number of treadmills facing windows to the city. Heck, I was lifting with some strong uncles and grandpas during the morning! The spa is on par with some of the high-end hotels in Japan. There are pools of all different temperatures along with a sauna and steam room, and the lounge has fresh tea and nice seats for you to unwind in before or after. Now about the breakfast. MY GOSH what a breakfast this place has! It's the best in the world, period. It's that amazing. The Grand Hyatt Taipei serves some of the most ridiculous spreads I've ever seen: it is simply phenomenal.One of the best breakfasts I've ever had in all the hotels I've been to. With so many variations and different areas of all kinds of food - Chinese food, Indian food, breads, cheeses, omelet bar, fresh fruit, cereal, Japanese everything, Korean assortments and kimchi and breakfast meats from Europe - all available for breakfast. I haven't even finished. They also had about 5 different kinds of juice plus tea/coffee, and a rainbow of fruits. How about some pumpkin/pork dumpling dim sum, french toast with berries and some amazing omelette bar? Yeah, I rest my case. It's the best. And yes, there are all these rumors about it being haunted. Well, I had a blast at this spectacular hotel in Taiwan. Amazing service for the price, one of the best hotel lobbies in the world, location is simply too good to be true (Red Line MRT Taipei 101 station is literally there) and all the good eats at the Taipei 101 food court is a Taylor Swift song away.

Beautiful lobby. Awesome location near Taipei 101. No "bar scene" like the W. But big comfy room. I'd give the water pressure an average rating. I prefer it to be able to hurt just a little bit. But the reason to pay the premium I was told is for the Sauna and Spa. The pool is outdoors so so-so weather will prevent you from even wanting to go to the pool. But... the 46*C steam room, 85*C dry sauna. And 46*C hot plunge and 7*C cold plunge will get the circulation going. I felt like I got a workout or at least sweated out some Taiwanese food with minimal effort. Except maybe on my heart. It's "Japanese style". So that means you're butt naked. It's also separated by sex. This was well worth 50 minutes of my time. I suppose ladies will particularly like the Sauna and Spa time! So TL; DR: come for the sauna and spa. Otherwise it's just a another fancy hotel with so-so water pressure. But a beautiful lobby!

Stayed for over a week in summer 2018 and have no complaints. The room was actually not super expensive, the amenities are good, the service is pleasant, the location is unbeatable, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. Pro Tip: There are elevated walkways from the Hyatt to three local malls (Taipei 101, Shin Kong, Att4fun) so you don't have to walk on street level or wait for crossing lights. This is very convienent. There is a nice outdoor pools up above street level as well. There is a nice spa and multiple restaurants. I didn't much like the one restaurante I tried; there are many bettery and more authentic choices nearby.

I was very happy with my stay. What was more impressive is that I had emailed their concierge to book me some reservations. They handled everything that when I arrived, they had the confirmations for me. Rooms are pretty spacious for a Hyatt and most of the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. I also like the fact that Taipei 101 was essentially across the street. Interior of the room was kept clean; good size desk area and also lots of outlet plugs for my many electronic devices.

probably my least favourite grand hyatt that i have visited. what makes this so? well it isn't the location nor the city. let's start with check in and consider that this is my second visit so at least they were consistent. no information provided, we had to ask what time cocktail hour is in the club, we had to ask restaurant times for breakfast it goes on and on. there is no thinking outside the box with the staff here (not their fault it's managements) no welcome back for returning to the property. considering they are just under 20% occupancy one would think they would focus extra love toward their current customers the club room is pretty basic and the food has no flavour. housekeeping are fantastic the overall impression of this grand hyatt is that it's pretty basic when it comes to service, i'm not one of those westerners that needs everything in english or westernised but when i'm paying so much for a room per night i expect (being a hotelier in the past as a career) that i shouldn't have to ask for a tea pot of hot water 8 times and have blank looks each time i do, i shouldn't have to act out like i'm making a poo because staff don't understand toilet paper. i shouldn't have to feel like i'm a stranger i should feel like i'm at home but a stranger it is because it's cold and void of warmth and personality here whereas every other grand hyatt is warm (even Beijing) and when you are a return guest even more so

Located within walking distance to Taipei 101 this hotel is a great place to stay while checking out Taiwan. I've stayed here several times and have enjoyed my stay. This time around I came in the end of November and the lobby was decked out with a festive Christmas tree and decorations. The rooms are nice and spacious and have been recently upgraded. My room had a view of the outdoor pool and they were very nice in allowing me an early check in at 8am. The service is generally nice although all the staff assumed that I did not speak Chinese because they probably have a lot of Americans staying. The staff also was not able to pass along my room key to my friend who was visiting which was annoying. But overall I had a good stay. Facilities I like the gym facilities because there are 3 separate gym rooms with different equipments if you want to avoid the crowds. All the equipment are pretty new and clean. There are also classes that are available but otherwise the room is free to use with some bikes. Right next to the gym is of course the spa. With your room key you are allowed access to the hottub/sauna/steam room. The space is relaxing and clean although the hottub area is a bit small. Restaurants We went to the morning breakfast buffet on the first floor for most days. The selection was ok it was porridge, bread, some stirfry and omelets, nothing too out of the ordinary. For the last few days it got really crowded so it was difficult to get food and the selection dwindled. Lounge Because of my boss' explorist status we had access to the 22nd floor lounge which gave us access to reserve a conference room for free. There is also breakfast and a meal served at 5:30pm. I did not get a chance to try either. The snacks that are served during non-meal times are mediocre, just some small pastries and cookies. The view is great because you can see 101.

I spent a week at this hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. I arrived late at the hotel after a long flight and was grateful for the hotel's quick check in process. My room was average size but very nice. As I walked into my room, there was a closet and coffee bar/mini fridge in the left, the bathroom on the right, and the main part of the room beyond that. As expected, the minibar prices were ridiculous, but I was able to use the fridge to store beverages I bought at local stores. The bathroom was very nice with a separate tub and shower. It looked like it had marble floors and walls, though I'm sure it wasn't real. I had a box of toiletries next to the sink with almost anything you'd need: comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, Q tips and more; I was really impressed. I also liked how they piped the sound from the tv into the bathroom, where there was a separate volume control. Very cool, it showed they thought of everything. As for the main room, I had a king bed. The tv was good and got a good number of channels in English, including 3-4 movie channels. The room had lots of places to plug in my phone, and I never even used my power converter! I had a sofa and table in my room, which had a decent view; I could barely see the top of Taipei 101. It turns out I needed the table, as there was nowhere else to open my suitcase; this was my only complaint about the room itself. The room was quite nice and very clean and I was happy with it. Outside of the room, the lobby was nice. It had a beautiful fountain with fresh flowers every day. There's a few stores and people selling things. The restaurant where they serve breakfast was phenomenal; one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. They had a buffet with many different areas with all kinds of food - Chinese food, Indian food, breads, cheeses, omelet bar, fresh fruit, cereal, Japanese salad, kimchi and breakfast meats - all available for breakfast. They also had about 5 different kinds of juice plus tea/coffee. My favorites were the Indian food, pumpkin/pork dumplings, Gouda cheese, French toast with berries and carrot juice. Other than that, the bar was overpriced even by American standards, the concierge was very helpful and helped me mail some postcards and arranged my transportation to the airport. The ride, one way, was $2770 Taiwan dollars (about $93 USD) but it was in a 7-Series BMW which was very nice. Overall I had a great stay here. I liked basically everything about the hotel. It may have cost 5400 Taiwan dollars (181 USD) per night, more than my usual budget for hotels, but in this case, I'd say it's worth it, and I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Its an overall solid 4 star hotel. Location is 5 stars. Service is 3.5 stars Noise level: 2 stars Hotel rooms: 3.5-4 stars What do Andrea Bocelli, Beyonce, Bill Clinton, Hugh Jackman, Margaret Thatcher, Snoop Dog and Jackie Chan all have in common.... They have all stayed here at the Grand Hyatt in Taipei. Rumored to be the 4th most haunted hotel on Earth. There is a famous story of Jackie Chan storming out at 3 AM after supposedly encountering a "ghost".....for me all this seeing dead people makes it more fun... The hotel is massive for a tiny country like Taiwan-852 rooms. It's actually owned by the Malaysian conglomerate Hong Leong Financial Group but managed by the Hyatt. Built on an allegedly WWII political prison camp and later rumored to be Gen. Chiang Kai Shek's personal prison camp (for people who dared to speak out aganist him or the KMT-Kuomintaig-the political party started by Sun Jiaoren and Dr. Sun Yat Sun-that first over threw the Qing Dynasty) So in other words the land itself has witness lots of death and misery. For the superstitious Taiwanese (the entire Asian population in general) this land was considered a "don't touch. Don't buy". So many Taiwanese were surprised when in 1990 a 5 star hotel was built on top of this land. Almost immediately strange and wild stories and rumors begin from the moment constructions begin. I talked to several people who worked at the Hyatt in the very beginning and they told tales of things moving on their own. Doors unlocking on their own, etc. The hotel management took all of these "hearsay" actually quite seriously because very early on they hired a famous Feng Shui consultant from Hong Kong whose name escapes me-to quiet the spirits. Immediately wind chimes and water elements were installed including the two massive fountains in the main entrance-one indoor and one out door. There are also two large Talisman guarding the front lobby and I was told there are talisman behind paintings in "certain" rooms with "active" paranormal activities.... I can say for absolute certainty that in all the nights I slept at the Hyatt I didn't hear one peep. Didn't see or even feel one thing out of place. Here is what I got out of several nights at the Grand Hyatt of Taipei 1. Good service: 3.5 stars. I think for the money (I paid a little under $500 USD per night) I got good service. Nothing to write home about but good service. I probably could of went down to Mandarin Oriental and gotten a little better but the MO location is not as ideal as this place. 2. Location....5 stars.. its 6 minute walk to the subway, Taipei 101, Breeze center (Taipei's high end shopping mall with stores like Fendi, Hermes and Chanel). 3. The hotel itself- *two 24 hr. gyms *a male/female separate sauna *at least 8 restaurants located inside the hotel including an award winning authentic French Bakery on the lobby floor. The famous Pearl Liang featuring some of the best Chinese style seafood you will ever have in Taipei or anywhere in Asia. Don't forget their afternoon tea service on the 2nd floor. *a pretty good breakfast buffet (I should note it's $30 USD per pop but when you're jetlagged and your Mandarin sucks this is a good choice) *the most spectacular front lobby *really affordable personal hair/make-up facial service *an outdoor swimming pool that has music playing under water (supposedly to quiet the spirits as well-a guest in a elevator told me) 4. The fluffy bed. 4 stars. If the Four Seasons is known for their beds then well the Grand Hyatt in Taipei can give them a run for their money 'cause it was like sleeping in a unicorn lair-so I've been told. 5. The rain shower-shower head. 4 stars.... The shower head also is worth the extra bucks. I took an hour long shower my first night...it was heaven. 6. The view. If you can afford it upgrade to a premium room (I paid a little under $500 USD per night.) where you can see the 101 at night. It's really worth it. The only down side is of course the loudness. I guess they didn't sound proof the rooms because I heard a lot of door slam. Luckily my floor had very few people staying there. Still....if you want quiet-check out Hotel Nikko. Its Japanese owned and lots of Japanese stay there so you can bet it will be super quiet with excellent service. Just watch out-the rooms are the size of your powder room... Over all. I enjoyed it. Even if all this ghost and dead people business is all urban legend it was a fun experience. Not sure if its worth what I paid for it. I think next time I will check out another hotel like Hotel Proverbs in Da'an or even Mandarin Oriental to see if they are less touristy.....

I have been going to Taiwan for the last 3 years working with the Taiwanese Army. I always enjoy my time exploring this wonderful country. I always stay in Taipei at the Grand Hyatt. Usually I am in country for 2 weeks at a time, so it becomes my second home. This place is simply amazing! The view from the windows is cool, as is the close proximity to the 101. Clean, quiet, luxurious, the food although expensive is fantastic in their restaurants. Their fitness center rivals a planet fitness in regards to machines and weights! The staff is amazing, the property cleanliness is impeccable. I get the deluxe King, and I feel like a king! My recommendation is to stay out of the restaurant and save money (though the food is good) At $30+ for breakfast you can see it will add up. Go across the street to the left of the front of the building (restaurant side of building) and try the Indian restaurant to the left side of the street. A few doors down is a great noodle shop. Keep walking and turn the corner to the right for more great eats. Walk in the alleyways for little food places and you can get meals for just a few dollars that will satisfy.

Wonderful experience and too notch hotel. The service was amazing and the breakfast was the best of our whole 2 week trip around Taiwan. A staple of you at in Taipei!

We booked this hotel for a large, about 1000 person, international business conference. The hotel conference staff was stellar, towards our English-speaking organizers, and our many international language-speaking participants. They have a variety of fine meeting rooms, including the Magpie room where we had board meetings. The conference staff supported our special custom security WiFi team if you need. Of course the hotel has public WiFi just about everywhere for guests and events. My room and bath were stellar. The main lobby is hugely spacious with plenty of conversational furniture settings which do not feel crowded. The buffet is very large, varied and very, very high quality. I had a chance to try some new items for me from the Taiwanese selection, like jellyfish! The location is perfect, as we used one of the Taiwan World Trade Center convention halls across the street. There is a park across the street too, always nice in a dense active city. It is very close to the National Dr.Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall (museum), which I was unable to visit on my schedule to see its collection of Chinese artifacts. It is almost next to Taipei 101, again, no time to visit the observation deck. It is also convenient to the subway. The hotel conference staff selected local experiences and arranged for our core staff to visit them as would a concierge, including Taiwanese bodywork, and of course, dumplings at one of Taiwan's finest traditional spots. Grand Hyatt Taipei a large 5-star hotel which deserves its stars. I'm always amazed that hotels of this scale can function at such consistently high quality, for individuals and groups. They do!

First off, let me say, "Wow." Anyone who complains about this hotel - believe it or not, there are such people - needs to have their head recalibrated. My trip to Taiwan was incredibly difficult for reasons beyond a Yelp review, however, this hotel was such a pleasure to wake up in and return to each evening. I have to start with my favorite, the gym. (Or was it the incredible rain shower? Or the ultra fluffy bed?) GYM/SPA ("Club Oasis") The gym itself is very nicely-equipped and provides great views. There is a full rack of weights along with several weight machines and a good number of treadmills facing windows to the city. The spa is other-worldly. There are pools of all different temperatures along with a sauna and steam room, and the lounge has fresh tea and nice seats for you to unwind in before or after. Word of caution: you must be naked to go in the pools. I learned this the hard way when the spa manager chased me down and started sign-languaging for me to remove my bikini. True story. (See why this place is so memorable? haha) My FAVORITE part of Club Oasis was Yoga. Yours truly took a yoga class...and ended up the only English-speaker there. (I didn't think this through beforehand). Yoga Basics with Eddy was the most fun I had during my entire trip. Eddy came in wearing a bright red spandex Superman shirt with his six-pack ready to burst out of it, and then led the most awesome yoga class I've ever been to -- partly because I was trying to figure out if this is real life, and partly because it was just so ridiculous (in the best way), I know it's one of the few things I will remember when I'm 90. Someone give this guy a raise, or a big hug, or both! SHOWER I am pretty sure I said, "Oh my god..." when walking into this bathroom for the first time. The shower has heads aimed in every direction - you won't miss a spot - and the best part is the gigantic rain showerhead coming from above. Heaven. It is also the first hotel I have ever taken a bath in. It's that good -- and I have lived in apartments with beautiful tubs that I never bathed in, haha. FOOD The breakfast buffet was amazing. For reference, my lifelong nickname has been "Picky Nicky," although I've gotten MUCH better over the years. ;) Let me list some of the items my tastebuds long after from here: smoked tilapia (Heaven. Absolute, total, complete heaven.), brie (briiiieeee! I love brie), croissants that you can smother with Nutella, a plethora of pastries, breads and rolls, loads of fresh fruit and fruit juices, cappuccinos... you name it, they probably have it. There are also cooking stations that will make you an omelet, etc. One word of advice: avoid the soy milk (if you're an American). It is nothing like US soy milk. BED So good, you can't get out in the morning. It is not just that you don't *want* to, but that you physically cannot. This bed envelopes you and creates your own personal marshmallow dreamland. Bed, I miss you. TECH The light controls in the room are spectacular. I meant to take a photo of the nightstand but forgot. You can access about 10 different controls from the comfort of your own bed, and there are more switches throughout the room. (The only funny part was the carpet being all cut up beneath my nightstand... they didn't quite finish that, haha.) LOCATION You can walk to Taipei 101 and just about anywhere else. Cabs are plentiful, and all the drivers knew "Grand Hyatt." If you ever find one who doesn't, you just say or point to the 101. Foolproof. There were a couple snafoos, but nothing that would dramatically change my review.

Stayed here with my USC MBA class, the location is pretty convenient and staff is friendly. Breakfast was pretty good and rooms are clean with a very nice bathroom. Overall I had a pleasant stay here and would return again. It's also literally across the street from Taipei 101 which is pretty cool
