The Best Hotels with the Best Restaurants in the World

"A hotel with Three Keys, and within, restaurants with six total Stars: This is not by any means typical, but the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is no typical resort. Dating back to 1868, it’s the pinnacle of the Swiss mountain spa concept, with its ornate bathing hall fed by natural hot springs and its treatments including everything from massage to medical care." - Alexis Benveniste

13 Ingredients Chefs are Prioritizing in 2024

"The use of tempeh, a fermented soy product, is grounded in my personal connection, stemming from the time I spent living in Indonesia. Having been exposed to tempeh as a staple in Indonesian cuisine, its familiarity adds a cultural touch to the resort’s culinary offerings. Additionally, seeing as tempeh can be easily made by hand aligns with Grand Resort Bad Ragaz’s commitment to sustainable and wellness-forward ingredients. Its familiar taste and texture make it the perfect candidate to replace more complex meat alternatives. The nutty flavor and firm, yet chewy texture makes it an excellent ingredient suitable for a wide range of recipes."

Grand Resort Bad Ragaz

"In 1242, a bird hunter in the Tamina Gorge discovered a pure hot spring with healing minerals and a consistently toasty temperature of 97 degrees Fahrenheit. Visitors have been traveling to take advantage of the thermal water’s healing properties ever since. Today, that “blue gold” is one of many draws of Grand Resort Bad Ragaz in eastern Switzerland, about an hour’s drive from Zurich. Comprised of four interconnected hotels, the resort offers guests two thermal spas, saunas, steam rooms, and hammams, as well as its signature NEWYOU Method. This holistic, evidence-based approach uses the latest findings in medicine and wellness to help each individual reach their goals. For dining options, you’ll find at least six Michelin stars among the seven restaurants, including the three-Michelin-starred Memories. There, Chef Sven Wassmer uses the Alpine region as his seasonal pantry." - Caitlin Gunther

"While the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is widely known for its health spa, based around the healing waters of the town’s Tamina Gorge, it is also becoming increasingly renowned for its food. Even if you’re not staying at the property, we’d suggest booking a table at one of its Michelin-starred restaurants."

The resort is set among the pine trees and mountains. The views are stunning. Check in was friendly and pleasant. A staff member showed us to our room and gave us a tour. The room was wonderful with great views of the alps. Everyday fresh fruit and nightly turn down service in the room. First class. The restaurants and the food, amazing. The Roman style pool out of this world . Spa and fitness top notch. I highly recommend this resort. My wife and I were so impressed and we had such a relaxing stay that we’re going back in January 2026 for a week. I highly recommend this place, you won’t be disappointed.

The staff is very cooperative. The prices are high. We find indoor and outdoor swimming pools. There is a club and activities suitable for young and old. Find a Michelin star restaurant

I stayed in one of the best rooms for several weeks. What I do know about this Grand Resort is that it is the benchmark of great service. Yes, improvements can be made, even by the Grandmaster or Virtuoso. I am glad I had such experience in addition to other great experiences. I have always referred people to GRBR and other great resorts if they need to know about great service. Thank you!

Grand Resort Bad Ragaz is the premier hotel in Bad Ragaz, a beautiful spa town in the heart of the mountains near Liechtenstein. I went here to speak at a business event and stayed for two nights. The hotel was fabulous and has a Michelin star restaurant. The highlight of this hotel is the spa which is one of the best in the world and has highly extensive facilities. The business facilities here are excellent for an event and we combined it with a hike up the mountains. The hikes around here are lovely and you can visit some of the natural springs and hot waters. All in all a great hotel and great location.

With beautiful trees and outdoor arts dotted all around the hotel, the grand resort also boasts a well kept, 18 holes golf course that hosts the annual Swiss Senior Open. It’s also nice to have a lap pool with cool water in addition to the two warmer family pools. Our two young boys enjoyed the mini golf on site, and the kids club with amazing staff managed to keep them engaged for a few hours with arts and craft which is a godsend for the parents who immediately went to golf and spa, separately. You can also rent e-bikes on site for a ride to the beautiful highlands across from the resort or climb the trail in the back of the hotel. One small blemish are the few flies in the resort which can probably be taken care of by some traps. I was shocked to find one of them also favoring the soft cheese over hard at breakfast.

From the moment we pulled up to the moment we left (sadly) the whole experience was on a totally different level. We went as a big birthday trip for myself and my son, there was 8 of us altogether. All of our rooms were absolutely beautiful my son had a family room for himself his wife and their 3 children, and we had 2 deluxe rooms for the remaining 3 of us. There was fresh fruit and soft drinks, immaculate every where and beautifully appointed but best of all views like we were in a movie. Breakfast was fabulous every morning the staff were so good with the children as well which was nice to see. We ate at Olives and Verve while we were there and all of our food was delicious my son and his wife had a meal at Sven which they said was unbelievable a nice treat. |All of the pools are beautiful my personal favourite was the adults only pool and the relaxation room beautiful place to chill. You feel your blood pressure lower and your whole mood lighten the whole time you are there, it was planned to be a one off for all of us my son and family have been 5 times before but I honestly feel I have to return and I can’t wait.

Overall it is a very beatiful hotel. The facilities, including the pool, are outstanding!||I have a sugguestion to improve accomadations. The light switch in the bathroom (touch-based with pictures of the moon and the sun) was not working properly. If your hands are wet, it does not work at all. It looks sophisticated but is not functional. Sometimes, you need your mobile's phone's flashlight to use the bathroom. It is also was difficult to turn the light off, which also does not help to save energy.||The people who work in the hotel are wonderful. |Thank you very much to Vlada, who works at the breakfast buffet, for making our mornings enjoyable and always meeting us with a smile!|Thank you, housekeeper Joaquin, for going above and beyond to help us!|Thank you to all the wonderful people in the hotel who did their best to make our stay effortless and enjoyable.

My wife and I stayed for our third visit to this hotel on the 23rd and 24th of May - we enjoyed our previous two visits immensely. The reason for this poor review is as follows. |When my wife was paying our bill on departure, she noticed that a charge of 432 CHF had been added to our room's account for use of the hotel's driving range. My wife pointed out that neither of us plays golf and had not used this facility. The disputed amount was deducted from our account, and my wife paid the bill. Or, so she thought.|On returning home, we checked our Amex card account only to find out that we had been billed twice for our two night stay. How this occurred I haven't a clue as my wife only entered her pin number once when settling our account. My wife contacted the hotel immediately to point out this error. However, the response from the hotel was not as we would have expected. It was verging on treating the error with disbelief. We emailed the hotel with copies of our paid room account and the duplicate payment on our Amex statement as was requested during my wife's telephone call. This did not elicit the response I would have expected from the hotel management. Despite contacting them twice ( the first email attachments would not open, but the hotel did not inform us of this problem ) therefore we had to get back in touch six days later to be told to re-send the attachments in a different format, which we duly did.|I can only commend the Amex team for their excellent response to this issue. Reporting the disputed payments on live chat took all of three minutes, and it was done and dusted. The payment was suspended from our account pending Amex contacting the hotel. The credit has now been posted to our account.|I accept that mistakes can occur, but this has tarnished our view of the hotel. |

Yelp
A must go place for its architecture alone, not to speak of it first class, luxury appearance, and supreme hotel and medical spa services. But even the corner Café is a place to relax and grab a small bite to eat.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat. I was there for the evening session of the thermal pools / saunas, but I got there an hour early so I wandered around the hotel a little. Saying it's very nice would be an understatement. It's beautiful! I'm saving up for a stay there sometime... until then there's always the amazing pools and saunas.

Yelp
Fantastic baths. Wonderful service. The most relaxing part of our trip to Switzerland.

Yelp
The hotel and spa is a paradise. Restaurant is excellent and you will not be disappointed. Very close to Heidi land. Had some friends from Almaty and they enjoyed discovering the area.
