Grand Salon Algarve

Our dining experience here was top class 👏. Everything felt personal, from the bespoke cocktail we had made, to the chef coming out to explain and present some of the dishes. That's always a nice touch. The service throughout was excellent and as the restaurant was quiet (November), it was nice to chat to the head waiter. Food, service, wine environment, all perfect! Definitely recommend.

Fantastic! This restaurant takes you back in time with its elegant and high standard interior. It’s very romantic and the perfect place for a special occasion. The food is absolutely top notch with interesting and tasty combinations of flavors. Good size portions. The staff is friendly and very service minded. High knowledge about wines. The bartender made me the best mocktail I’ve ever had. This place take notice of the details and it makes all the difference.

Compliments to the chef! Our dinner was truly divine. The food and wine was absolutely amazing; delicious, creative and tasteful. We drove 80 km to have birthday dinner in this wonderful restaurant. It was just perfect. I highly recommend! We will return.

We have had two meals here, one in December 2020 and one in November 2021. Both were exceptional. This is not only very good food, it is also very refined and prepared with great care. The menu is also interesting, although based on local produce, it is inspired rather than reproducing the same, usual menu items. The presentation and service are exceptionally high. Even the bread, the salt, the olive oil are of the highest quality. It makes for a delicious and memorable experience. You too will want to come back!

This place is truly remarkable, boasting a captivating and chic ambiance. The location by the window, with a charming river view, added to the experience. The service was impeccable, offering attentiveness throughout. While the wine was outstanding, it's worth noting that at 18€ per glass, it was a tad on the expensive side. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the same standard, as it lacked excitement and flavor. The pata negra starter was disappointing with its minimal pata negra, and the octopus rice was a letdown with overcooked rice and an abundance of prawns over octopus. It's a shame, as we had higher expectations.

We stayed at Grand House and, as had been recommended by a number of travel sites, we dined one evening in the Grand Salon. We really wanted to love it but couldn’t: the food was unremarkable and while the staff themselves were friendly and kind, the service was really below par: slow and inattentive. We had to ask over and over again to have our water glasses refilled (we were told because it’s “fine dining” they don’t leave the water bottle on the table) and it was near impossible to get the attention of the servers who stood in the corner seeming to avoid anyone’s gaze. In addition, the dishes came out very, very slowly, even though there were very few people dining that evening. The whole restaurant is a nice idea but unfortunately really poorly executed. P.s. if you’ve heard about the bar and are coming for that, know that it’s tiny (two small tables only) and was oddly unstaffed on the Saturday night we were there.

Amazing Food and Service Been there end of last year after a friend´s recommendation and he was totally right. Lovely food with local ingredientes and very flavorful, beautiful presentation. We had an amazing Cocktail as an aperitif and Wine paring for our Dinner. Service was very friendly and top as well. As it was my wife´s Birthday they surprised us in the end with a small cake and singing, even the Chef came out! We will be definitley back when they reopen as it was for as a Michelin Star experience.
