I'm actually kind of surprised I had never reviewed this place until now. We thought it was pretty average the first time we dined here many years ago, so now we go back every few years thinking something is going to change, but it never really does. It has a huge menu with a wide variety of options. The whipped feta appetizer was new, so we gave it a shot and it was quite good. My side caesar was also good. For my entree I had the Maryland salmon. The sauce and crab were good, but the salmon itself was pretty dried out. My wife had a salad with salmon on top and had a similar experience. On the positive side, our server was very friendly and attentive. Also, they have a large quantity and nice variety of outdoor seating options, which is the primary reason we visited. Overall, it's not a bad spot...it's just nothing memorable.

Came here on NYE with a small group of 4. The experience with our server, Mimi, was arguably the best service I've ever had. She was absolutely incredible in her attentiveness and menu suggestions. The food overall was pretty good and worth the prices, but the highlight of our night was having Mimi as our dining liaison. Please recommend her, you will not be disappointed. Our entire party will be back!

Google
Mediocre at best the food for the buffet isn’t labeled. Flies are flying around uncovered fruits and vegetables. The chairs and plates are dirty. This place could be nice but needs major upgrades to their buffet, and the inside of the building.

Had a nice casual dinner for a reasonable price, two alcoholic drinks and a sandwich and a burger for under $50. Was pleasantly surprised they had gluten free buns for burgers and also cauliflower crust for flatbreads. Food was tasty, service was friendly, and nicely decorated for the holidays. We'll be back.

Google
This place was absolutely terrible, food AND service. My family and I are very understanding and patient. Who wants to risk complaining to someone handling your food? Not us!!! After an hour of sitting and waiting for our food to come out and not one person approached us to check on us to see if we needed refills etc we finally mentioned to the waitress when she FINALLY came over that we were not satisfied with our service. She got defensive and had an attitude and said she had another group to wait on and “couldn’t we see she was attending to the other group?” We were completely ignored with an almost empty dining room at 7:00pm at night. We were offered no refills on drinks or checked on the entire hour wait for food to come out. Prior to the mentioning of the bad service we had ordered soup and side salads. One salad was ordered without onions, when it was pointed out that the salad had onions the waitress said “can’t you just pick them off or do you want me to have them make a new one?” Why is that even a question? MAKE A NEW ONE! It should be common sense in customer service to automatically get a new one when the order is not correct. While half the table ate their salads the other half of the table NEVER got their soups, that is when we had it and mentioned to the waitress we were not satisfied with the service. About 5-10 minutes after we spoke with the waitress the food came out and was disgusting. STONE COLD mashed potatoes. I went to smash my mashed potato pile down and the entire lump of mashed potatoes was so hard and cold the entire thing slide across the plate in one large lump. Honestly, I should have taken a video of it, disgusting. I resorted to stealing a piece of my son’s bread that came with his dish (how can you go wrong with bread right?) that bread was the most tasteless flour and water combo ever. How can you mess up bread?! Thankfully the waitress finally got the hint and was very pleasant and active in waiting on us which I was happy to see that she changed her attitude. She offered us a free dessert that was also disgusting! (Not the waitresses fault) the chocolate cake tasted like hostess cakes smashed together with Hershey syrup poured on top with side sprays of canned whip cream. I mean how can you mess up chocolate cake and bread?! The whole experience was terrible and I 100% will never go back here and will definitely recommend family and friends to steer clear of this place.

As soon as we arrived at the door, we could smell something good! Greeted right as we came in. Asked if we’re here for the buffet. We were not but it definitely looked like a good spread. This place is the place to be by the looks of it. Lots of party’s and events going on. Our server, Jack was great. Very friendly and informative. Was quick with it all and was very attentive while there was so much going on. I had the Reuben with onion rings and they were the rings I love. They were breaded and perfectly and with a touch of seasoning. A zesty dip was provided which also added a flavour pop. The sandwich was very filling and had the right amount of corned beef. My son had a Caesar salad with sweet potato fries which he also had me try. They were very good and salted just right. Service was very quick with all that was going on. I would definitely consider the buffet if I was back in this city

This was our first time dining here. We reserved a table last minute using open table. We had the calamari for an app; delicious! Not rubbery, and no fish taste. I had the lobster and goat cheese salad as my entree. My husband had the shrimp and chicken with veggies. Both dishes arrived quickly, were presented beautifully, and tasted very good! The vegetables and seafood were so fresh - we were both impressed. Total bill came to $63, which was a deal considering the level of service and quality of food. The clientele was diverse and the dining room had a very welcoming feeling. Our server, Gabby, was attentive, helpful and positive. Highly recommend.

Google
This is actually a nice casual place. Great atmosphere with a nice staff. The bathroom was super clean. The food was delicious! I only had a problem with the fish not being crispy..it was slightly soggy. The lamb chops and the burger were very well made. My dinner came with 2 sides and 5 lamb chops for $36, which is competitive pricing. The fish and chips were $19. All in all, I'll definitely go back there.

Yelp
Wonderful, not only were they able to accommodate our party of twelve they did so gratuitously. Best of all the food was fabulous, not one complaint from our large party. Ed the GM and Jack our server couldn't have been better. The entire staff went out of their way to make our time there enjoyable. Keep up the good work. We will be back to enjoy another great evening.

Yelp
Needed a late lunch while in the area. I wanted a cup of soup and to relax a few before on to the next adventure. We were seated in the bar at a booth. Very comfy. Good menu with a lot to offer. My order was small but the soup was hearty and thick. The chicken had the protein I needed. All and all a great visit for lunch. Service was the bartender and she lost track once in awhile but fine enough.

Yelp
I placed a carryout order and was disappointed with the "owner" response or lack of service regarding a mistake they've made. As you can see in the picture, I ordered a regular size chili @ $6 and paid an extra $ to add cheese and onions. Mind you, I ordered the same exact chili yesterday and even interacted with the same young receptionist. However, when I got home and saw that they had given me the side potion rather than the regular portion, I called and some woman said she is the owner and get this, she said we don't have anything larger than the side size!!! I called her out on the lie and said I got the $7 portion yesterday and it came In a bowl not in small side container. She took down my number and made a big deal out of refunding me the difference in price. She still HAS NOT called back. Let me tell you something, you can keep the $7 but you will NEVER see me placing orders at your location ever again. Your loss because my order from today was over $80. Keep your poor customer service lack of skills going because you are very good at it. :)

Yelp
My favorite local happy hour. Huge menu, large bar with plenty of seating and the staff is great. The bartender was super helpful picking out glasses of wine and the food came out fast but didn't sacrifice flavor. The burrata and wings are a must, but the menu is big and you'll probably need to come back a few times.

Yelp
A friend treated me to brunch here for my birthday. It stands alone in a strip mall off of Coolidge just south of Maple with plenty of parking. Brunch was buffet style with many selections. Cheesy hash browns, shrimp and grits, salmon, prime rib, omelette station, fruit, and more. We had mimosas served in a tall slim glass. The server was pleasant. The ambiance was very casual. I enjoyed my experience enough to go back.

Yelp
We had a great brunch buffet at Grand Tavern. They had so many breakfast and lunch options and it was a great price for everything we got. A full crepe and omelette bar and a prime rib carving station were also included. Our server was nice and fairly attentive. Our dirty plates were cleared before we returned with another plate of food. We also enjoyed a bottle of champagne which came with 3 juice options - pineapple, orange and cranberry. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
We had a wonderful first experience at Grand Tavern! Although the service was a bit slow and inattentive, we really enjoyed the food and menu!! We both got burgers with fries (the regular fries were just okay, but the sweet potato fries were wonderful!!) We indulged in the vanilla bean cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert. Both were delicious! It was pretty busy when we came, due to the Sunday brunch. Still, we were seated quickly. The restaurant was clean and like any average tavern!

Yelp
This was a great dining experience at Grand Tavern - Troy! Jesse was an excellent waiter, who provided us with great service and a peaceful vibe. The food was delicious too. We started with the spinach artichoke dip. I love that the saucers were already on the table with our cloth napkins and silverware. I decided on the cedar plank salmon, a side salad, fresh vegetables and rice. One family member had the special cut New York strip with colossal shrimp and Yukon gold mashed potatoes and the other had the chicken pesto pasta farfalle with the soup of the day. The food was delicious except the potatoes were a little salty. This location has two party rooms and both were occupied. It appeared one was a corporate affair and the other was a birthday celebration. They also have a patio with outdoor seating. They also have brunch on the weekends. You might want to check them out!

Yelp
I decided to have my Retirement Dinner on November 22nd at Grand Tavern Troy, and it was an amazing experience. The wait staff was awesome. Thank you Jesse and Elvis! I would like to also thank the managers Anton and Eddie. They were extremely helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful. All my guests were very happy.

Yelp
Hats off to all the chefs. Consistently great food. I love the salads and homemade bread!!! Hamburger, sandwich, appetizer are all good. Happy hour is fantastic with half off appetizers. The service was great, attentive and spot on. The atmosphere is nice. The bar is noiser than the dining room area but we like bar area when there is only 2 of us. Great restaurant.

Yelp
2024-08-01. Grand Tavern Troy. It is with a heavy heart when I say this, Grand Tavern has discontinued their Fried Oyster appetizer... it was one of the reasons why we come here. Happy hour just got a little less happy for us... On the bright side, they still have the prime rib dinners on Thursday nights, so we were at least able to still enjoy that. We went with the 12 oz portion to share and also ordered a bunch of appetizers: Calamari, Tenderloin Tips, Whipped Feta, Crabcakes, and Nachos. The crab cakes came in two small medallions and there was quite a bit of filler to them. Served with a side of greens and a Dijon mayo. 2.5 stars. Calamari. These came in strips rather than the traditional rings. The breading was heavier and crustier than I remembered. Served with a side of marinara and a wedge of lime. 3 stars. Nachos. These were actually made with won ton wrappers, but it was a nice surprise as they put a twist on the traditional. It worked well IMO. 5 stars. Whipped feta. Wasn't sure what this was going to be, but it was feta with honey and served with pita chips. The feta/honey mix was better than expected. 3.5 stars. Tenderloin tips. Smothered in a mushroom gravy, served with garlic mashed potatoes and topped with fried onions. It wasn't overcooked and was fantastic! 5 stars! Prime Rib dinner (12oz). Served with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The Prime Rib was cooked to a nice medium rare. The best part is that this location has real horse radish you can get if you ask for it. 5 stars. Overall, Grand Tavern Troy is still my preferred location. The ambiance is nice and so is the staff. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great for warm summer nights. We enjoy many of the items on their menu, the dishes are flavorful, and they rarely disappoint. Did I mention that they also have a weekend brunch? I'm still a fan. 4 stars. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

Yelp
I have always loved their brunch buffet and have brought many of my friends and family for that exact reason. But this time I came for the dinner. The service was nice as always and my friends and I were quickly seated. The menu is very extensive with something for everyone. I opted for the chicken Alfredo and it was very delicious. The Alfredo wasn't the typical thick cream sauce that you would typically see but it was oil with spinach and mushrooms. I was very flavorful.
google avatar

Jim I.

Yelp
Meh. We ordered the crab stuffed shrimp with rice pilaf and a vegetable medley. Quite honestly the cream of mushroom soup was the star of the show as the entree was boring and lacked enthusiasm. The entree was presented well it just wasn't great. As simple as that.

Yelp
I came with my local friend after I arrived in town after a nine hour drive from the east coast. Location was convenient to her place. We sat on the covered patio which was nice. I don't remember that being here when it was the former restaurant. Food came out quickly. I ordered the brussels sprouts based on another picture posted here as I only like my brussels sprouts if they're super crispy. They were, but they must've been put under a broiler instead of baked at a high temperature because they were still very hard in the middle. I took most of them home, but did not end up eating them. The fish and chips were great. The cod was thick and tender. I liked the housemade tartar sauce and the addition of malt vinegar. My friend enjoyed her meal which I didn't capture. I will definitely be back in December.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! Just ask about what drinks they have because it's not accurate apparently in the menu. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating too! In my group of 4, we had a great time with the drinks they had to offer and our different menu options we had. I went to order a Blackrock beer that was on the menu and our server said they haven't had it for a while, as well as purge beers that might not be accurate on the menu. They should probably update it. Service was pretty good. Our servers (ordering and getting our food) didn't say much which was strange. The guy who brought us our food simply put it on the table and left. Overall though, a pretty good place! It's changed names a few times but this menu I think is the best of them all! Was hard to decide what to get.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Updating my previous review to give them another star because the buffet brunch on the weekends is pretty good. I've gone a couple of times for brunch here with friends & the food is always on point. $25 for all you can eat brunch isn't terrible (in my opinion). Drinks are extra but I never drink in the morning/early afternoon lol
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Interior is nice. Service was poor, wait about 10 minutes before a server stopped by to give us water and take drink orders. We were not offered a bread basket although other tables were delivered a bread basket. French onion soup was very bland, onions were still on the raw side. Chicken parm came with a cream sauce which is odd. The au jus with the French dip was extremely salty. Prices were very high on top of having to pay extra for fries with a sandwich. Hard pass on a return trip here.
google avatar

Yelp
Pleasant dining experience from the moment we walked in, felt very like being home. Seated as soon as we walked in, attentive hostess. Witnessed no lines waiting for a table despite a lot of vehicles in the parking lot. (My wife and daughter were with me) Eden our waitress was a hit with her suggestions as we all enjoyed the Spinach Dip, which while it looked more pesta green had a very good taste. Which the ladies enjoyed with a class of wine. Dinners included Cuban Ciabetta for me, delicious. My wife had the Garden Veggie Risotto, also a big hit, minus mushrooms and mini corn on the cobs, in a creamy sauce. Daughter enjoyed a Bowtie Pasta also a big hit. Service was great and so was the food. Also loved the interaction with guests other tables, great vibes.
google avatar

Greer J.

Yelp
Mello vibe. Promptly had to return a dirty plate. Every other place was closed so we tried it. Overall, very good. We created a side sampler of crispy Brussels sprouts, fresh veggies and fries, plus the American Waygu burger and sweet potato fries. All good no complaints. Attentive service, although we were the only ones outside. We appreciated that they seated us outside, given we were the only ones. Outdoor seating was great on the last night of summer.

Yelp
i ordered carry out last night. First let me share I would not recommend getting carry out during happy hour , these employees have so much going on that I believe offering carry out is not fair to them. regardless I finally got my order to be taken and it was delicious. I had the French dip and a side salad instead of fried chips. The restaurant was packed and regardless they pulled it off. Side note if you're interested in happy hour try to get there when it begins. I see a lot of customers trying to walk in the door at 5:45 and demand to be seated in time for the deals. NOT FAIR TO STAFF Be Kind

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE. The menu is so random feeling in the best way, anyone and everyone can get what they want here. The food comes out SO timely. Their "new" item chicken Alfredo is actually sooo good. Not traditionally seasoned, but sooo yummy in the best way. The chicken tender and well seasoned, almost outshined the pasta and sauce (which were also soooo good), also comes with soup, very good. My bf has gotten the burgers on multiple occasions, we both love em. Well cooked to order and gourmet feeling to the pattys we always have been sat in the bar area where the servers are very timely and attentive. Never a wait even though they look so busy. Cant wait to go back The once we tried, the french dip sandwich (au jus) was inedibly salty. We didn't complain, due to the pack restaurant and overall great sandwich lol. The Ambiance is casual, no need to dress up vibes. You could watch a game here in a tee and whatever pants no sweat
google avatar

Amy B.

Yelp
My friend and I like to check out new places around town that we've never been to before, and I randomly picked this one since we I've been to the one in Rochester Hills before. I knew what I was walking into, but thought we'd give this location a try. Compared to the Rochester Hills location, it seems way busier than I was used too! (that's a good thing.) it also happens to be in a busy shopping district, so I'm sure that's a factor in the amount of people we ran into. We got seated immediately even though there was a ton of people here which we were really grateful for. The menu seems the same to their Rochester Hills one, but I noticed they have a buffet! woot. It was kind of expensive at $21 a person, but it was jamming so we passed. I went with the slider dish since I didn't feel like a huge meal and it came with an upgrade of sweet potato fries. My friend went with a chicken Caesar salad which she loved, and both were worth the money and delicious. Our server was on point and did a fabulous job of making sure we were well taken care of, which we really appreciated. Overall a really nice experience and way busier. I guess they also recently opened for lunch after having abbreviated hours of being open only for dinner service. Will gladly return when on this side of town.

Yelp
They have a great happy hour 3-6 Monday-Friday. Most drinks half off as well as most appetizers. They also have a large patio area. Half is exposed with umbrella tables and the other half is under a roof and open on two sides. The roofed area has plastic shades to pull down if needed. Salads are good, sandwiches are okay, appetizers are very good. Prices are reasonable. Sandwiches and salads in $14-15 range. Service is there when you want it but they don't hover, which is what I like

Yelp
Went here on a Friday evening and the place was full but were seated immediately. We sat for a long while and were finally met by our outstanding waiter who was running between way too many tables. Why is it EVERY restaurant I go to since Covid is ridiculously understaffed?!? We could see he was busy so we ordered right away, he had a drink for another table but put it down and graciously took our order. We ordered some drinks along with the food and they didn't come for at least 15 minutes. My beer was not very cold but my friend's Manhattan was delicious. Salads came with the meals and weren't anything special. I ordered a chicken parmigiana which arrived well later and was slapped on the table by someone from the kitchen. It was supposed to be breaded but was slathered in so much sauce and some cheese that it didn't appear to be. The pasta that came with it was so overcooked it was mushy. I ate half and boxed the rest for my dog. The price was reasonable as there was a lot of food. Unfortunately it wasn't very good.

Yelp
Went to Sunday Father's Day brunch... overpriced garbage. Service slow... it's a buffet, could you perhaps clear dirty plates or refill drink? Also surprised to have completely different food than the online advertised menu.... No crepes, no biscuits and gravy, the list goes on. all the food was smothered in cheese. $40 is a rip off. Hey, waiter, were you curious about how the food was? Do you know it's Father's Day?

Yelp
5 Stars What a gem Grand Tavern Troy turned out to be! My husband and I stumbled upon it a few months ago during Happy Hour. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how warm, friendly, and efficient the staff were. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance--a pleasant hum of conversation without being overwhelmingly loud. It just feels good to be there. The food? Fantastic. The Happy Hour menu is generous and full of flavor, which made it an easy decision for me to host a surprise Happy Hour birthday party for my husband there! Eddie was amazing to work with in planning the event. We chose the private side room, which features two TVs on opposite walls--perfect for our group. Eddie was patient, helpful, and incredibly responsive throughout the planning process. He helped me set up a continuous photo slideshow on the TVs, making the celebration feel even more personal and special. The appetizers were a hit: chicken skewers and chicken tenders (so juicy and flavorful--not dry at all), Brussels sprouts, burrata salad, and whipped feta with pita chips. Every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and thoroughly enjoyed by our guests--many of whom are still talking about how great the food was and how much fun they had. Two servers were assigned to our party, and they were wonderful--consistently replenishing the buffet and making sure everyone had a drink in hand, all with a friendly smile. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Grand Tavern Troy has become our go-to spot, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Definitely a 5-star+ experience!

Yelp
Chicken Parmesana, their spin on a classic Chicken Parmesan which was really good I would definitely come back and get this dish again

Yelp
I was here with my husband on Tuesday, July 23 and while we were waiting to order, a roach ran across the table. My husband killed it and I quietly brought it to the attention of the waitress. The manager never came over but at the end of our meal, the waitress said the manager was sorry and offered us free drinks which we declined. We did take a dessert home. This was around 5 pm in the evening. Unpleasant, didn't want to eat when the food arrived. When we said something to the waitstaff, they didn't clean the roach off the floor.

Motria S.

Yelp
Have been dining @ Grand Tavern for many years. Food and service are on point! Wine Wednesday's ( 1/2 off bottles of wine $50 or less. Prime rib specials on Thursday's. Happy hour M-F 4-6. Eddie, the maitre'd, is an excellent addition to the staff. His attentiveness to detail is much appreciated! Strongly recommend for a fun evening out or date night. They do have a spectacular outdoor patio area as well. However, if you're anyone like me, it's been way too hot for any outdoor dining.

Jonathon V.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the service was fine. Nothing spectacular but he was nice enough. The real problem was the food. The over arching theme was SALT. I started off we the soup of the day, chicken tortilla and SALT. Next had the spinach and artichoke dip with SALT with STALE chips. For the main meal I had the filet which was so SALTY and a little overcooked. The only thing that didn't have salt was the bland mashed potatoes which could have used some more seasoning. Overall, I will not be going back. Disappointed.

Yelp
Sunday brunch was incredible. Menu options, waffle and omelette station, covered outdoor seating. Made for a wonderful 50th anniversary celebration for my aunt and uncle!

Yelp
Nice dining experience, this was my first time here and it was good. The dining area was nice and clean, if I had one complaint it would that they had the football game on the tv which made me feel like I was at a sports bar. Also the menus were very old and almost hard to read. Our server was nice, he took our order quickly and made sure to check on us while we ate. I ordered some spinach and artichoke dip, it was good but it had alot of butter or oil in it. I ordered the filet medallions and I added some shrimp to it. The shrimp were a nice size but they were boiled and I would have preferred them grilled. The veggies that came with it were really tasty overall the meal was good. My husband had the lamb chops and they were a nice size and for the price it was a steal. I would most def go back to try other menu items.

Yelp
I rarely do these reviews but after waiting 45-50 minutes for an order that had 3/4 meals wrong, a flat beer with 1/4 foam and a manager that never showed after the server said they were coming, I felt the need to. The whole meal and experience was horrible. We ordered two medium rare "inferno burgers" that were well done that were missing the jalapeños and not only didn't have any Cajun seasoning but tasted like they had no seasoning at all. Also had a kids meal, asked if it came with marinara (was told it did) and it came out with a creamy white sauce completely mixed in and a scoop of marinara on top. After we mentioned what was wrong, waited 10 minutes for a manager that never showed and then paid for our 2 beers and the correct kids meal.

Gaile P.

Yelp
Our reservations was for 11:00. My concerns the buffet the food wasn't warm and some trays on the buffet were empty. However the service was great and our waitress was customer friendly and I will return. We had good seat for a friendly luncheon.

Yelp
I love this place! The food was very flavorful. The fruit was fresh. The desserts were sweet. This was my first and I will be back It is a must-visit, especially in the summer when you can sit on the patio. The food is good-they have a great variety. The atmosphere inside is bubbling and outside is chill, and the servers and staff have been so friendly and warm. They have never once given me an issue with the accommodation I need for my disability, which says a lot because many restaurants do! This is one of my favorite places to eat and I always request it when I'm home visiting my parents. Highly recommend! This Tavern is located in an out lot in the Midtown Square shopping plaza. It is on the west side of Coolidge N of 14 Mile Rd, south of Maple Rd. This restaurant was once a Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurant. The Décor is modern and what you would expect. Late lunch, let's try something different. First off, holiday weekend and seems like no one is in town. Hence, no waiting for a table. Plenty of staff on hand and we ended up with a great server who was passionate about the food when asked. Believe her name was Eldon, could be wrong. But her passion for the Shrimp Tacos made me try them and love them, I did. My wife had a salad with steak and she ate it all. Our daughter had a wrap and she too ate it all. When prompted our server showed and told us all the great things to eat here. All I can is... WE WILL BE BACK!

Yelp
A great spot for a weekend all inclusive brunch buffet. Super nice patio and an upscale interior. Good for a date night or large group

Yelp
Such a great meal! Salads were chock full of all the specified components which were very fresh. The chicken was very moist. Brussels sprouts appetizer was fabulous. Served very hot, as it should be, and charred just right with not too much glaze sauce. Monday night specials were a very good deal. Happy Hour includes half off appetizers. Service was excellent. I live across the country so, unfortunately, I can't be a regular

Yelp
We were here for Saturday brunch and had another really good experience with both food and friendly service! Our group was a mix of teens and adults and we all enjoyed the buffet choices! We'll return!

Yelp
Visited Grand Tavern in Troy last Saturday with my family. We opted for the breakfast/brunch buffet. The food offered on the buffet was hit or miss. Unfortunately, with any buffet pancakes, waffles and the like will lack while sitting in a warmer for several minutes instead of being served immediately. Both of those items were really inedible. Besides that, nothing was terrible. The items that were really good were just that, really tasty and worth returning for seconds. Other items included cold cocktail shrimp, bacon, sausage, a Cajun-style shrimp, Parmesean grits, desserts, breakfast pastries such as a spinach filled pastry and a cream cheese blintz; fresh fruit, and scrambled eggs. There was also a steak carved to order. The star of the buffet was the omelet station, where two cooks prepared omelets to order. They were really great. I had a delicious strawberry mimosa with my meal. Service was excellent. We were allowed to stay there for hours waiting on late party members and talking. I'll definitely dine here again, and try their other menu options.

Yelp
The staff is super friendly. They have a big meeting room for dinners for a large group. The chicken fajitas portion was off the chart good... The steak fajitas portion over cooked and tough to eat. Get the chicken fajitas and you won't be dissatisfied.

Yelp
Came here for a Christmas dinner with some friends. Our hostess, I think her name was Maggie was warmly greeted by her. They have an extensive menu, reasonably priced. I had the pecan crusted whitefish dinner for $20. It was absolutely huge, a whole half of a whitefish. Came with soup or salad and 2 sides. It was very good, had a lemon butter type of sauce. My girlfriend had the quesadilla, it was good. This place was very busy which is a good sign, people must like this place. They have a good beer menu draft menu. Our food did not take long at all, was hot when it came out. The manager Joe stopped by a couple times to make sure everything was good. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had a taste for fajitas and quesadillas but the Mexican restaurant nearby was closed for Dr Martin Luther King Jr holiday which I respect! We will go there another day. We had to run to Kroger so we went to Grand Tavern for carry out and you can always count on the portions being large and the food being good here. We were happy with our food and the service. Can't speak to the ambiance that day because I didn't pick it up but I have been there before and the restaurant is well decorated and everyone was polite.

Yelp
They are open until 9pm. Alyssa waited on us tonight, she's nice enough. We put in our drink orders. Asked for lime too. Took a bit to get the drink. No lime. Learned my lesson from the RH location; but there's no grand nacho here. We ordered the station nachos with corn chips instead of corn chips and two lobster goats cheese salad. The station nacho comes out on a large platter, just like the grand nachos at their RH location. The station nachos so cheese covered and has a ton pulled chicken, although it's bone dry. The toppings are plentiful and enough to cover all of the chips. We asked for salsa. Our waitress realized she forgot the salsa when we were done eating the nachos. She said she spaced out. The lobster salad wasn't bad. The red leaf lettuce pieces are liquified and nasty though. They gave us a lot of langostinos, yum. The lobster salad is goods other than the rotten red leaf lettuce.

Yelp
We're lucky to have so many great restaurants in Oakland County! THIS place is not one of them, though! Food was terrible. My side salad consisted of a few pieces of limp greens and a lot of stems, with 2 cherry tomatoes and a couple cukes. Totally skimpy. I wish I had sent it back. Lettuce is cheap. Why skimp? I love flatbreads. Mine was undercooked and limp and way too doughy. Waitress took a drink order and forgot about it. The women's bathroom was DISGUSTING! The toilet leaked. The faucets only pour ice-cold water (so how are employees getting hands clean?) Paper towel dispensers empty and trash on the floor.

Yelp
Great menu with tons of options for seafood and meat lovers alike. We have been coming here since it opened a few years ago and it never disappoints. We love the Station Nachos which uses wonton chips and an Alfredo for an Italian spin. French onion soup was also very good.

Yelp
I was attending a bridal shower on Feb 22 and was entering building with 2 large heavy boxes one at a time. I struggled opening double doors and to my surprise there were two female employees standing at hostess desk watching me. They never moved a muscle. nice customer service Grand Tavern. Do Better .

Yelp
This review is based on 2 different type of visits, happy hour and brunch buffet. The happy hour menu had many choices, but I choose the wrong one. The duck with Asian sauce was below average and so was the broccoli but the rice was good. Reheating the duck and broccoli didn't help. No French dressing and ranch made the side salad average. Others said the French onion soup was too salty. But the prime rib was a big hit. Other choices also enjoyed. The carrot cake was some of the best I ever had. I will be back to try some of the other choices. Now the brunch buffet, one of the best I have had. Ranks right up with Weber's. Lots of choices of meats, sides, salads, and desserts. Crepes made with your choices. Every thing I tried was worth going back if 2nds if I ate like too many normal Americans. The set up and the use of servers made it safe in this time of Covid-19. Had to wear masks unless you were sitting down eating. The price was $18 for the Sunday brunch. Saturday has a few less choices but a fewer choices. EBS would have loved going here is and I plan to bring my best friend back with me. I only took the 1 star off because of the duck and broccoli.

Yelp
The wife and I came to the grand Tavern and Troy at happy hour time and we got the appetizers. Got the chicken skewer appetizer and the wife got the steak bites. Both were excellent. Then we ordered the barbecue chicken flatbread and the crabcakes again both were tasty well done. Our waitress was also excellent very knowledgeable and pleasant. Her name was Ellie. We will definitely come here for happy hour again.
