"Take a seat in the warm, welcoming interior (with exposed beams and stonework, marble table tops and velvet upholstery), or on the pleasant terrace in the picturesque, cobbled courtyard of the Marais Dance Centre. The brainchild of Mauro Colagreco, the pedigree Gallic recipes come with an international, often Italian twist… Examples include stuffed confit of lamb in a provençal sauce, Taggiasche olives and a gutsy gravy – high-flying culinary art!" - Michelin Inspector

Grand Cœur is a must while in Paris! As a foodie, I was amazed from start to dessert the flavors, presentation, and atmosphere were on point. The beautiful alley and building already set the mood, and the warm service from Leo, Mariah, and Joseph made the experience even more special. Truly memorable. I’ll be back!

This restaurant came highly recommended by a foodie friend, and it absolutely lived up to the praise. After days of eating average food around Paris, I was so pleased with this dining experience. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The wait staff were attentive, cheerful, and seemed to truly enjoy their work. You could feel the positive atmosphere among the team. Service was excellent, and it was refreshing to experience such genuine hospitality without any expectation of a tip at the end of the meal. Highly recommend!

Google
2nd time and still just as lovely and delicious. The first time I went after work at the nearby dance studio, sharing the same quarters as GrandCœur. I took my mom who was visiting last week and she adored the atmosphere and seasonal dishes. We had a very sweet waiter and look forward to next time dinning.

Google
I rarely feel the urge to write reviews but the experience of dining at GrandCoeur was exceptional. The staff is lovely, the atmosphere and lighting are just right, the food is delicious, and the wine pairing recommendations were spot on. Three courses and three hours flew by. One of our best eating experiences in Paris to date.

The food was amazing and the wait staff were all spectacular. Great wine list and helpful staff to make our choice. Sitting in the terrace on a lovely evening added to the pleasure.

I have never written a bad review about a restaurant in my entire life, but I’m going to do this now! We came to this restaurant mid August and can only assume that the Chef was away for his summer vacation. It was without a doubt the worst food we have ever eaten. Usually we were just pay and go however it was so unacceptable and so revolting that we just had to say something. Having been seduced by the rather pretty photos and website as well as the reviews we were very excited however upon entering the rather grubby courtyard we were disappointed by a very underwhelming exterior dining area. It feels rather like a catfish – the reality does not match the rather bucolic scene that they portray. We were also bombarded by music being played from a dance studio overlooking the courtyard all evening drowning out any kind of ambience. This is however the least of our concerns. When finally a waiter came to our table they told us approximately 50% of the menu was sold out and we were left with a few slim pickings from a very reduced and small menu anyway. We were also told that the only rosé that was available was a Magnum and they had no rosé available by the bottle which seems rather strange in France. We wondered whether to get up and leave at that point as we were already so unimpressed by it and there was nothing left on the menu we particularly wanted to order however seeing as it was already close to 9 pm, we decided to stick with it and make the best of it, however, that was impossible. My husband ordered the bouillabaisse which comes in two parts. Two separate servings. Both were ice cold and tasted absolutely revolting. I actually urged him not to continue eating it because it really didn’t taste correct. We’ve eaten many bouillabaisse In the south of France and it’s one of my husband’s favourite things, but this was literally revolting. I ordered the confit of Lamb that was stuffed in various different very badly prepared vegetables. Again, the confit was lukewarm bordering cold, Looked horrific and tasted like something that would be served on an aeroplane at best. It definitely had the feeling that it been microwaved and reheated but not very well. Let me be clear – my husband literally eats ANYTHING and devours everything that is served to him on an aeroplane however he left almost all of his food which is unheard of. I took one bite of my main course and immediately left it. My daughter and her friend also left their food. Ordinarily, we would chalk it up to bad luck and move on, but this was so far beyond that. We did let them know that this was inedible but were told that “French people enjoy this”. I can only imagine that The actual chef was away on vacation. We have just spent the last few hours googling the Chef incredulous as to why we had the experience we had this evening and cannot fathom any other reason. We did manage to have all the main courses removed from our final bill, but we were very happy to pay for the drinks that we received and the wine. We were surprised to find that they had also charged us for the starters. I would’ve thought they would’ve removed that from the bill. This horrific experience cost us €188 for what was a couple of drinks and some very poor appetisers for my daughter, a wasted evening and we left hungry having to pick up a crêpe on the side of the road on the way back to our hotel. We shall be making our hotel aware not to be sending any more of their clients there in future. Without a doubt the worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant! Completely disgusting!

That was the first restaurant we visited while in Paris. The service was exceptional! Props to the lady assisting us for our needs. With regards to food, overall everything was tasty but in my view some details I would like to see took away the 5/5 rating like the crispy skin on the fish. Description of the dishes was quite complicated but in my view they were quite simplistic. I found quite odd the approach of serving 1/4 of a chicken breast for a main course. Dessert was just OK.

Google
Amazing food and wine. We loved every dish. Also the service was amazing. Very friendly and eye for detail. They made a small error on one dessert and we got it for free. They also gave us an extra piece of the cheese we loved the most from the platter without us asking. The main course (tuna steak) was perfect. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and good drinks. We were seated by the window in a nice small table. The service was exceptional. We will be back!

Yelp
The food, the atmosphere, the service was all great. A nicely paced meal in the evening. We started the meal with a delightful Amuse-bouche cool and refreshing. Then we selected multiple appetizers to start: Leon Beef Cacina and Langostino Carpaccio both were divine. Then we had entrees of Beef Tartare and Sea Bass which were generous portions and delicious. Last course was tiramisu and white chocolate sorbet with passion fruit coulis. Great meal. Merci Beaucoup!

Yelp
Everything we tried was good - enough said. The dishes consisted of a creative take on classic French. Smoked rosemary into ice cream? The best potato au gratin ever tasted? Even the olive oil for the bread is amazingly unique? You'll find it here. Fresh dishes were bright and hearty dishes had deep tastes. The menu isn't overly expensive so there's a concentration on the offerings. Service is on point and the setting is romantic chic but warm. Definitely try this!

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant with an adorable patio. Major Parisian vibes here. The server was helpful and offered a decanter when we thought our wine was a bit tight -- the Fleurie then opened up and was great. I had a fantastic duck dish, and everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

Yelp
Aloha, GrandCouer was recommended by our host as a neighborhood gem. And he was correct. Great food, awesome wine list with fantastic French faire. Enjoy!

Yelp
Arrived for a late brunch and they really did not disappoint! The pumpkin ravioli is one of the best things I've ever eaten, and I was SHARING it! The cream was inspiring! Not super creamy but still a strong cheese flavor, hoping I can recreate something like this at home. The fois gras and fish dish also were exceptional, I'm just never forgetting the ravioli.

Yelp
We were told to come here by a friend. Oh Wow! The place was amazingly rich with history and beauty. We were greeted warmly and sat the the primo window spot. Julian the general manager was so warm and helpful. He had a custom veggie dish for us made to perfection. Tell him Jason and Daphne from USA sent you. Wine was ice cold and so tasty. The chocolate tart was so good. Gotta try the other dishes tomorrow too full now

Yelp
Arrived in the early evening, walked into a space with exposed stone and rustic beams, and warm, yellow lighting. Wait staff is youngish and maybe a bit inexperienced, but eager to please. As soon as the crunchy little amuse bouche met my mouth, my mouth was definitely amused. Omigod, it had everything--salt, sweet, fat, melty, crispy. I knew from that bite it would be a meal to remember. The menu changes seasonally (as it should) so my review may be of dishes that are no longer served. I started with parsnip soup (Veloute de panais), beautifully presented, and both comforting and elevating. The vegetal creaminess was expected, the depth of flavor and pistachios were a surprise. My main plate was Beef Cheeks (Joue de boeuf), and it was perhaps more straightforward than the other dishes--the beef was quintessentially French, rich with concentrated umami like in a beef stew. The accompanying vegetables were simple and perfect. For dessert, I had white chocolate cream with passion fruit. So lovely. Not overly sweet, and again, beautifully presented. I had a lot of great meals in Marais on this trip, but this was hands down incroyable. The price wasn't too crazy--maybe I'm just used to Boston prices for subpar food. Makes me sad to come back.

Yelp
Delicious restaurant in the 4eme. Service is friendly and accommodating, but ALWAYS slow. It starts off strong, and then slowly weakens as you move through the meal. I took my parents here for a lovely dinner, and it quickly became one of their favorites due to the food and ambiance. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating (when the weather is nice)...they interior is beyond charming, while remaining stylish, so I would recommend sitting inside. With the above said, I'd likely recommend it for a casual upscale lunch over instead of dinner. The interior is very dimly lit at night, but flooded with natural light during the day. 1) They start you off with some delicious bread. 2) Order an app. They are all good. You cannot make a wrong choice here. 3) The beef is good; however, their guinea fowl is unbelievable. Try to go in the fall, and if you can get the guinea fowl with corn purée, you'll thank me for ordering it. 4) Make sure you've ordered all the wine, beverages you want BEFORE your meal arrives. The service falls apart once your meal comes, and good luck getting any refills. 5) When it comes time for dessert, skip it and go somewhere else. This is when the service is in shambles. It will take 40+ minutes to get your dessert, and if you order coffee, it will arrive lukewarm. So that's the good and bad of this restaurant. It's a 5 star on food, but a 2-3 star on dinner service.

Yelp
What a beautiful space! We ate outside and had a lovely meal. They accommodated our 3 year old daughter and we were blown away by the service!

Yelp
I loved this restaurant. We sat in the outside in the courtyard on a warm nights. Watching dancers in the windows above the courtyard gave the night a magical feel. The tables our close but since our neighbors were speaking french it just added to the incredible atmosphere. We started the meal with a couple of gin & tonics. They let you choose your gin and then add an accompaniment such as lime or ginger. The drink was excellent. For a starter I had the asparagus and for my main the lamb shoulder. The lamb was one of the best meals I had in Paris. For dessert we had the whites chocolate dreamy which was equally amazing. Overall an amazing evening.

Yelp
What an impressive meal and atmosphere! Tucked in a little courtyard, we didn't have a reservation but were lucky enough to be seated. The food gras was perfectly cooked and broccoli soup creamy ( could have used a bit of spice). My vegetarian polenta was marvelous with sautéed chanterelles and poached egg. Husbands dorade was accompanied by lemon foam to perk it up. Tarte tatin was the best I've had in years.

Yelp
I have eaten here a few times. Most recently last night with a group of 10. I continue to be thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service. Juliet, our server, was stellar. She has a firm grasp of the wine list and the ingredients of the dishes served. The special starter of eggs and white truffles was incredibly good, but the real star of the evening was the lamb. So beautifully roasted and crazy tender! Literally just pulled apart with a fork. I intend to dine here every time I come to Paris. For price - 10 people, all had a starter, a main and most had dessert and we shared 4 bottles of wine (good wine!). Total price was a 880 euros. We all thought it was extremely reasonable.

Yelp
I had great expectations for my lunch here. I read a raving review on another site. I made reservations in advance and when I arrived I was sat in what had to be the worst table in the house, squeezed in between a couch and two radiators. I was constantly dealing with waiters and guests pushing their way past me. The service only has one word - terrible. Not once did they check on the table. My soup was fine but the menu did not mention a semi cooked egg on top which was just too much. The lamb was ok but I just couldn't recover from where I was seated and the lack of attention from the server.

Yelp
Nothing special - desserts were probably the best course of the meal. Does it have a Michelin star? If so, I don't understand it (lately I absolutely do not trust the Michelin restaurants -- what odd places they pick sometimes! [Scratching my head]). I had the scallop carpaccio which was very good, but that's a tough one to mess up in my opinion. My main was 'camaro na moranga' -- a pumpkin soup with shrimp. It was nothing special. I tried my brother's seabass and it reminded me of the cod in this crappy NYC restaurant on Park Ave South where the fish tastes frozen/microwaved. The dessert (banana tart) was fantastic, though. Service was excellent. While the place is beautifully decorated, something is missing. The atmosphere is lacking. Overall, I don't recommend this place -- do not trust Michelin on this one! (if it even has a star, again I am not sure it does)

Yelp
The menu might seem small and simple at first but the flavors are anything but! We were a large group so we got to sample many things: lamb, pork, dish.. All startlingly good. We will be back every trip probably.

Yelp
This was the best meal I have had so far in Paris. The ambiance is romantic but still very contemporary and chic. The food is amazing. Everything on the menu sounded fantastic. The service was great. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I will be back every time I am in Paris.

Yelp
We ended up here after our hotel Concierge's recommended it... everyone dining here was American so I assume many hotels suggest it. It was beautiful and spacious with high ceilings. The menu is limited though, the green bean salad was delicious. I did not enjoy my eggplant at all. Fish was good. For France, the service was excellent. Attentive and relatively fast. The courtyard it is in is quaint with dance studio in many of the rooms around it. It was not so memorable that we would return.

Yelp
We enjoyed a fabulous meal here last night. The location is set back from the street and very historic and romantic. The bread is a house specialty served with a delicious citron infused olive oil, and it was especially good with the jambon starter. I had the monkfish served in a delicious but not overly heavy sauce of capers and pine nuts. My husband had the butternut squash tortellini and it was incredible in a brown butter sage sauce. Friendly service and fabulous surroundings make this a place not to miss in the Marais!

Yelp
Great food. Great location (in Marais, near Pompidou), great looking restaurant. The house bread is great and the food tastes better than it looks. Must visit if you had even one evening in Paris...

Yelp
Great place. Camarão na Moranga and Beef Cheeck. Wonderful choice with house wine. Nice nice nice. FYI the chef Rafael is Brazilian and he's very very good. Congrats

Yelp
We went for lunch and had a wonderful time. The owners have exposed some of the original, medieval details of the building while adding super modern touches (like the marble and gold-detailed table tops). One warning is that the service was definitely a bit slow, particularly if you're used to service in the US. That said, my husband had his favorite meal during our entire stay in Paris--the lamb shoulder. Overall, a very positive experience, even considering the hype.
google avatar

Aimee H.

Yelp
One of my favourite meals in my short Paris stay. Had the lunch special of 2 courses, delicious and surprisingly good value. Lovely atmosphere. Agree with other reviewer service is slow if you are used to US but very friendly. Recommend

Jackie C.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my meal here. Food was marginal at best and my wine glass sat empty for half the meal without a server ever asking if I would like more. Overpriced all around.

michael f.

Yelp
Had dinner with my family - 3 generations - last night. Sat outside in large semi private courtyard, cool spot given its location in Marais. Food was very, very good, as was wine. Would definitely return if I lived in Paris.

Yelp
Went here for New Year's Eve and we were sorely disappointment. It was filled with American patrons (which should have given us our first warning) and the service was just the worst. We could hear pots and pans being thrown around in the kitchen with someone screaming at the staff. Then we had one course that came out- it was a foie gras ravioli and we both picked up the bowls and inhaled the delicious aromas only to have the server come and literally snatch the bowls from us and give them to the table right next to us! I told him we also had not had that course and he said sorry these are for them. It was so awkward and offensive. We proceeded to wait another 20 mins for the exact same course to come out for us. Luckily the hostess came and apologized with a glass of champagne but by that time we just wanted to get out of there. There are so many great restaurants in Paris, such a shame we wasted a night here.

World Traveler F.

Yelp
the appetizers are the stars here - can't decide what is best - the foie gras with lemon, the mushroom fricassee or the pumpkin soup. this is fine dining, and everything is a flavour explosion. can't wait to bring everyone I know here.
