Both the food and drinks were exceptional. Our server, Abby, made excellent suggestions. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We had the oysters, pork belly, and ribeyes. All were delicious and done exactly as we ordered. We both highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
Enjoyed an amazing dinner at Granddam. Service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. We had the Elk Wellington, Bison Gnocchi, and Pork Chili Honey Brussel Sprouts. Highly recommend a visit here when in Lexington!

Rebecca Schilling

Google
Such an amazing restaurant with a swanky vibe. All food is fresh and so is the decor. Dalton our server was wonderful and extremely helpful. The steak was cooked perfectly. Dessert was amazing. 100% recommend.

I’ve been for both dinner and brunch. Both meals were fantastic. The duck entree is out of the world and the breakfast potatoes will knock your socks off. Our servers for both times were very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going back!

Had a wonderful Christmas dinner at Granddam! Service was caring to needs and gave detailed information about the menu. The fried chicken was crispy, expertly seasoned, and served with cheesy mashed potatoes. The ham dish was perfection, as were the rolls served with an addictive miso garlic butter. The price point is well worth it for the quality of the experience and food.

Google
Great food, always something new and tasty on their rotating menu! This is our second time coming and we’ve love both times. This is for sure our go-to occasion restaurant in Lexington. Additionally, our server Garrett Kays was phenomenal, providing excellent service, great recommendations, and a warm friendly experience.

Steve Meeks

Google
Hunter provided excellent service. He had great recommendations for bourbon and wine. The food was fantastic. Chef Paula Endara is amazing! Highly recommend if you are passing through Lexington and want a great meal.

Google
Everything was fantastic! Our server Garrett Keys was awesome. He recommended the chocolate orange honey cake for dessert and it was delicious!

Yelp
The Granddam at The Manchester Hotel is a standout among hotel restaurants. If you're like me, you might assume that hotel restaurants have a reputation for being overpriced with mediocre food. This is not the case here. The Granddam elevates the standard with exceptional food and service that goes far beyond expectations. Side bar: We might be a little biased, though--we enjoyed the food so much that we hired Chef Paula and The Granddam to host lunch for our wedding, but that should speak for itself! This is our first time back in almost 11 months because life has been so busy. The ambiance is beautiful, like stepping into a scene from The Great Gatsby. It's elegant, timeless, and sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The rotating seasonal menu keeps things fresh and exciting. We loved the surprise! Our picks were the Hog Hornado & Mussels, Wood-Fired Mushrooms, Caesar Salad, and Sweet Potato Raviolon--each dish full of flavor and creativity. For drinks, I had a perfectly balanced Paper Plane, while my wife enjoyed a delicious Espresso Martini. (I tried the PB&J Old Fashioned and it wasn't for me - too much J not enough PB) Todd, our server, was fantastic--personable, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. He made sure our drinks and water were always topped off and even noted from our reservation that we had a concert to catch next door at Manchester Music Hall. He went above and beyond by remembering our upcoming one-year wedding anniversary and surprised us with a dessert, which made the night even more special. Highly recommend dining here, whether you're staying at the hotel or just stopping in for an exceptional meal!

Yelp
This bar/restaurant is beautiful. Service is outstanding and food and drinks are top-notch! They have an absolutely amazing Chef who is from Ecuador. We experienced drinks and appetizers in the bar one night. And also a full five course meal in the restaurant. If you are lucky enough to have Katelyn as your Server you will be rewarded with impeccable service and a gorgeous smile. Their Sommelier is new. She is charming and knows her stuff. Favorite food for both of us was the Trout entree. Husband loved the foraged mushrooms. And I loved the pork roulade. In the bar area, one of our favorite things was simply the beer cheese that was served warm with celery, apple slices and a warm tasty pretzel. The only dish that was a slight disappointment was the Clams that we had at the bar. Three of our clams hadn't opened, and the bread that was served with it would have been so much better had it been grilled. It's probably a moot point anyway cause Bartender told us they are changing up the menu soon anyway. Note: the smoked fried chicken meal that we saw come out looked and smelled amazing. Also, it's good that their desserts are not overly sweet. We tried both the pecan cake with coconut ice cream and the chocolate cake with Maker's Mark ice cream and they were both surprisingly light and not too sweet. Sadly we didn't make it for brunch, as I'm sure that would have been fabulous as well. This restaurant is a real gem!

Yelp
Tasty, special occasion spot in the cool and growing Manchester district. I found parking in a lot across the street and had a reservation for brunch with my family. The interior is absolutely stunning, and I'm sure the rest of the hotel and rooftop bar Lost Palm are equally beautiful, I'd love to try the rooftop sometime. The brunch menu was pricy but tasty and the service was friendly, with a fair wait time, given the crowded Sunday morning time slot. I'd be happy to return.

Yelp
Recently went to Lost Palm, but was unable to get in due to all the (empty) tables being reserved. The hostess at Lost Palm definitely enjoyed her power trip gatekeeping and was pretty snide and rude to the parties in front of us that walked in. She offered us two seats at the bar, but when we walked in there were no seats available. Lost Palm is incredibly beautiful and unique - think vintage Miami or Palm Springs with ultra glam art deco influences. We hope to visit again but next time we will be sure and make reservations. As a result, we went back down to Granddam and had a fabulous experience with the much friendlier bar and waitstaff there. Our sazerac (off menu) and peachy old-fashioned (don't remember the name but it was a seasonal specialty) were both delicious and we enjoyed drinking them in the shady outdoor courtyard. Prices were definitely upscale (over $80 for 4 cocktails and tip); you also have to factor in the parking situation - we paid $20 for valet and tip for the valet team (valet is $11). We did not order food, but I will be back to try the fried grits! Both the male bartender with black hair and the burly male red headed server (didn't get names) both really shined in their service! Note that your only options for parking are a smallish paid lot across from the hotel ($2.25/hour I think is what the valet said) or the $11 valet. There is also a larger paid lot a short walk away and limited street parking in the surrounding area. Overall, $100 for a special cocktail date in Lexington is a bit high, but the unique design and level of luxury you feel in the space makes it worth it. The cocktail program was solid. I'd recommend maybe coaching the hostess at Lost Palm to be a bit friendlier to all clients - our experience was definitely not something we've experience even at much snootier Michelin Star restaurants around the world, and I felt really bad for the people and how she spoke to them. Pro tips: consider parking and make reservations before going to the Manchester.

Yelp
When in Lexington this is a must. There's a beautiful bar in the lobby of the hotel so you can grab drinks before dinner. The restaurant has a large open space with lots of larger tables. Mix of booth seating and regular. Our waitress was so nice and explained their menu for us. Tons of local ingredients and KY favorites. Make sure to try the Tri tip appetizer and the fried chicken. Wow! Both were so good I'm still thinking about them. The presentation makes it all even better. Chicken had a bit of a kick and was a huge piece. Everyone who ordered had to take half of it home We were so full we didn't get a chance to order dessert.

Yelp
Fresh takes on the food options, definitely a vibe. I like the list palm a bit more, but overall a pleasant experience.

Yelp
I stayed at the Manchester and went there for a quick lunch. It was a holiday and service was slow. If you are there on a leisure day, not a bad place to chill, but if you have a full day ahead after checking out, maybe try other places.

Yelp
My wife and I went for the second time and enjoyed it just as much as the first. Our first visit was on Valentine's Day 2024. They were full. It was dark inside because it was dark outside. But the ambiance was electric. There was a din of diners discussing stuff but it wasn't distracting. The food was fantastic in presentation and flavor. From the pork belly starter to the the entrees to the special dessert. And the servers and backs were attentive and fun to talk to. We chatted up the patrons seated beside us and they enjoyed themselves, too. We went back last night, a random Saturday in June. Busy but not full, bright inside because it was light outside. Lots of natural light. Good cocktails, fine starters, more delicious entrees, and a nice selection of desserts. THEN, go upstairs to Lost Palm, the rooftop bar, for a cocktail. Sit outside if you can. It's loud inside with music and chatter. But lots of folks like that vibe. The views of Lexington are pretty at night. It's a pricey night but a fun experience and great food. When they first opened, the prices were stupid high. Someone talked sense into them and while still on the higher end, are reasonable for the type of establishment. Parking is valet only for $11. Or park nearby and walk. It's a fine dining hotel restaurant with a beautiful decor in the lobby bar and the rooftop. It's fun. Go.

Yelp
First time eating here and we were here for Fathers Day Brunch. The place is beautiful inside and out! The food was fantastic and the service was a little slow but still good. I look forward to going back!

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here. The restaurant is lovely, has a live band in the hotel lobby and you can hear it in the restaurant. There is also a beautiful outdoor garden area. The food was fabulous, sourced from KY farms (except the seafood, haha), the chef infuses excellent spice blends. The server was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and provided suggestions. I had the trout, which so yummy. The wine list is expansive and mixed drinks were very good. And lastly the rooftop bar provides a nice view of the distillery district and good music. It's a great celebratory, treat yourself place. I will return! Kinda loud though, however I went on a Saturday night, so not surprising.

Laurie P.

Yelp
Ambiance was good food was a 5. Service was pretty slow. Would definitely go again for the food.

Yelp
We had a late Valentines outing at the Manchester Hotel including drinks and an app at Lost Palm followed by a drink in the lobby area bar and then dinner at Granddam restaurant. The overall experience was fantastic and I highly recommend checking out all of these places. I had been to Granddam one time previously and it was a good meal but this time it was seriously one of the best meals we've had. The specially featured veal chop was what sealed the deal but everything from the seared ahi tuna to the freshly flown in oysters to the pork belly app to each and every curated cocktail... was amazing all around. I wouldn't har ever ordered the veal chop without the comments from our server who said it was the best thing he's ever eaten there. He was spot on with his recommendations. The cocktails were all so perfectly created as well. This evening was truly a great experience.

Yelp
Ambiance and general decor was great, whoever designed the space did really good work. Service was also great. Food...massively overpriced and unexciting. Elk Wellington at $69 should have been exceptional, it was very ordinary. Bread was stale, mock tail tasted like battery acid. Chef needs to try a bit harder, food not matching pricing.
google avatar

Lexie G.

Yelp
Review is not for service or food...that was great. If you are going for anything brunch or breakfast, maybe call first. Seems to be iffy when that is served. Ended up only having coffee. The rest of my party settled for lunch which they said was outstanding. I'll return when they have a better handle on advertising correct hours for breakfast options.

Nina Q.

Yelp
Food and drinks were fabulous! The tri tip and sweet corn side for the filet dish were the table favorites. Our waiter was also wonderful and meeting Chef Paula was so fun- we loved her and are rooting for her on Top Chef ‍

Marie P.

Yelp
Y'all the interior design is so nice with cozy corners to settle into. Full bar, coffee & delish menu. I ordered the creamy cauliflower soup which was amazing along with a tomato pie (more like a galette). With tomatoes not in season, I was skeptical but it was really good! Very attentive service.

Yelp
Came back to grandam for a birthday dinner. Nothing short of excellent. Kat was our server and her recommendations were spot on. We started with the tuna tiradito with a cherry miso puree that was to die for. We got the tri tip appetizer that was smoked table side with creamy grits. And we got grilled oysters, absolutely stunning. For our entree we shared the duck cassoulet. Succulent duck with sour cherries on a bed of perfectly stewed beans and ham. Couldn't be happier! Will always come back!

Yelp
Fantastic dining experience. We commented several times on the beautiful space. The lighting was comforting and set the perfect mood. We started with oysters on the half shell and deviled eggs with shrimp. The oysters were small but fresh and delicious, and the mignonette in particular was a standout. The eggs were a perfect combination of ingredients. Loved both! My partner had the trout, and I the New York Strip. Both were delicious, and the steak was among the best I've ever had, which is saying something! The green apple vanilla mousse for dessert had an adorable presentation, and our server proclaimed it the most underrated thing on the menu. It was the perfect end to our evening! Can't say enough about how thrilled we were with nearly every detail. It's expensive for Lexington, but I would never complain about a meal like the one we enjoyed at Granddam.

Yelp
Outstanding food and service. We are from out of town and did not expect to be wowed at the hotel restaurant. It was impressive from the drinks to dessert. We loved the style of the room with gorgeously cool couch seating that wrapped the room. We had no disappointing dishes and wished we were staying another night to eat there again. Highly recommend the deviled eggs, clams, fried chicken, tritip, bussel sprouts, chocolate cake with makers mark ice cream, and coconut dessert. Just wowww! And Abby was a darling server with a wonderful personality.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Food was delicious both the lamb Wellington and duck cassoulet were outstanding. Cajun shrimp deviled eggs were great. Service was attentive and quick. Comfortable seating, nice space, cool art and lighting.

Yelp
A little pricey. Martini was super strong. Food was excellent. Ribs were tender. Service was 10/10. Love the atmosphere and being able to go upstairs for a drink afterwards.

Yelp
I was quite excited to eat dinner at Granddam for the first time after the recognition in Time Magazine. While the ambiance and service were excellent, I was extremely disappointed in the food. I ordered the Black Hawk Farms New York Strip for $89. The cut of meat selection was awful, having a lot of fat and gristle. The steak was swimming in a pool of sauce that was so overpowering I could not taste a hint of the meat flavor. The Rosemary Candied Yams were cooked well but also swimming in a bath of sauce that was excessively sweet. My parents ordered the Pan Seared Trout and Wood Fired Tri Tip. The trout was cooked well, but a tad heavy on the butter. The tri tip was also a poor cut of meat being nearly 50% fat. My wife ordered the Duck Cassoulet, which was very nice in presentation and flavor. The duck was overcooked and dry, but it was the best of the four dishes. Overall, the dinner was well below expectations, particularly for the prices. I would suggest visiting for drinks to enjoy the ambience.

Yelp
Brunch. Recommend reservations. It's good. Well planned menu. Something for everyone without being overwhelming. Beautiful setting (although the sun blazes through some windows). Attentive yet unobtrusive service. Solid cocktails. Everything we ordered was delish. High end for Lex and we'll definitely be back.

Leigh H.

Yelp
Met friends for cocktails at the bar....it is beautiful and very busy. Amazing cocktails, atmosphere, and service. Definitely will visit again.

Yelp
I had a reservation, so I got directly to my booth with no wait time. I was greeted by my waiter, who was very nice. She then gave me my drink, and then gave me four free biscuits with butter. It was really good! 9/10. They were very tasty! Then we ordered our appetizers, whitch was a lamb belly. It had lots of colorful sauces and lettuce. It was so good! I normally don't like cranberry sauce, but it was so good! 10/10! The second appetizer was Spicy Grilled Mushrooms, and dang that stuff was good! It had two different sauces, and made the mushrooms very tasty. And the kick you get from the mushrooms makes it even better. 8/10. I also noticed that you can change the color of the lamps by simply touching the tip of it. Dumb but cool detail. Anyway, after about 10 minutes or so, or food came. First up, an Elk Wellington. Not a beef wellington, but an Elk Wellington. Never had a "Wellington", but it was pretty good. And there was duck. There were two sauces that really made it even better. Both of these dishes deserve a 10/10! Really good, experience. Little pricy, but it was worth it!

Yelp
There were very few menu options and no entrees were vegetarian. Since I'm pescatarian, I also eat seafood and there were two seafood dishes but one also had meat in the side dish. They altered it for me but I was disappointed in the selections overall. It's rare to find a menu without a vegetarian option. All in all, our dishes were ok but not great - especially at this price point. Our entrees also came out too fast so we did feel a bit rushed. The banquettes were also not comfortable - if sitting against the back, you were two feet from the table. Just not very practical. Overall, we were disappointed.

Yelp
First opening was Railbird weekend and I've heard excellent things! Visited here on a Wednesday night with my mom & friend. Our server shared that it was his 2nd training night, but he did wonderful! - food delivered warm & savory & fresh - interior design stunning - you'd eat your whole plate, and not fill full / bloated.. it's insane how freshly cooked every single dish was.

Ben S.

Yelp
Note this is for Brunch only - but dayum it's got one of the better dishes out there I've had in Lexington with the Pork Belly Hash. Great service and stellar atmosphere - it's a bit more expensive than other spots, but not by a degree that feels untoward. The regular breakfast plate is also delicious, but they have a stellar biscuit offered for many of the dishes that's just baked perfectly every time. Honestly, great spot if you don't add in drinks to that tab.

Lori S.

Yelp
Wonderful food! Nice atmosphere and the service was wonderful. Really enjoyed the bread.
google avatar

Yelp
Such an amazing experience! The interior is unlike anything you will see in lexington. It is the best of mid century modern ish, and every detail is perfectly thought out. The mocktails are SO good, and there's a cocktail on the menu for everyone. The menu has something for everyone, yes, a bit pricey, but the experience is worth it! I can see people going for cocktails spending the afternoon with friends and family. Definitely the new place to be seen in lexington

Andrea V.

Yelp
We were there to eat a late lunch on 8/17/24. The lovely dining area was practically empty. We were not acknowledged as we waited to be seated with the hostess standing right there. Finally seated, the server was hardly attentive. My lunch partner said she was down right rude. I would say she was not well trained in courtesy or efficiency. I can't speak for my partner, but my reuben sandwich was very dry and corn beef appeared to be from prepackaged sandwich meat. Not sure where the sauerkraut was. The rye bread was delicious and was fresh. My avocado salad was good. Sure would have liked a tea refill, but we were just lucky to get served. I did tip, however, it really wasn't deserved. Took a peek upstairs at the roof top, and it looked like the place to be. It opens in the evenings, and the workers were doing set up while we were allowed to view both sections. If we do return, it will be to enjoy that area.

Yelp
Be prepared to have a breath-taking experience. The menu prices will literally take your breath away, along with your retirement savings and your first born child. Every entrée is about $50. Or more. Their signature martini is $29. Waited about 90 minutes for our meal. Server was fabulous and comped us an appetizer-grilled oysters, which were exceptionally tiny and came out burned. Mocktail was yummy. Mostly ice though. Main course was so salty that I wonder if the chef smokes or simply burned their tongue and can't taste anything. Server comped a slice of cake, as we waited such a long time and most of the tables were empty all evening. Tables are very close together so that there is no private conversing. So close, in fact, that chatting with other guests was unavoidable. Servers have a very long walk through the bar to get to the kitchen and back. So be patient.

Victoria S.

Yelp
Tri tip beef dinner was tough as shoe leather! The bartender and the waiter told us it was the best on the menu so we both ordered it and we both could not eat it as it was so tough. Eric, our server was very professional and recommended that we try the Tri-Tips beef and we told him it was tough. We did not ask for a refund but will do so in the future as it was expensive too. It was also my birthday celebration.

Yelp
Major points for the decor and ambiance!! Indoor and outdoor. Walkway on the side of building into Granddam was gorgeous. Interior is super appealing and old time swanky. I don't like the parking options: $10 valet OR $3 across the street. Lexington annoys me with the pay for parking EVERYWHERE! I dined alone for a quick lunch. Server was nice but took too much time during my experience to bring water, take order, check in, and bring tab. There were only 4 others so he wasn't slammed that I could tell maybe he was just too easy-going. But I wanted to be in and out for my lunch break. He was helpful with menu suggestions. My fried chicken sandwich with bacon, pimento cheese, & pickles was absolutely delicious as were fries. I was very impressed with my fancy to go box...great touch!!! Definitely have already recommended & will return. Just know you must pay to park right across the street.

Randall B.

Yelp
Wow, I hate writing reviews like this but you need to know my experience We ordered a dozen oysters which were excellent but that's when the dinner went south Friendly service but I specifically requested no broccoli. My meal was smothered with it. Rather than send it back I just took it off. I ordered the lamb Wellington. Unfortunately the lamb was over cooked and the mushroom sauce between the filo and lamb was funky. My wife ordered the fresh catch. Chilean sea bass. It also had a strange sauce that spoiled the fish. We left most of our meal on the plate After waiting 15 minutes trying to get the check I had to go to the host station to request it. Too many good places in Lexington to dine. Pass on this place

Yelp
Delicious food and cocktails. Our server was wonderful and very helpful with our questions. We can't wait to return!

Yelp
Loved the pastrami and my wife's chicken and peaches was fantastic. Don't sleep on this place.

Sarah E.

Yelp
My husband and I went to Granddam for lunch today, and loved it! First off, this place is beautiful. There is a bar and lounge area, the dining room, and a small non-covered patio out back. Half of the patio has tables for dining, and the other half has lounge furniture. The bar offers an espresso menu during the day in addition to cocktails. Though my husband did order the table side Old Fashion, and our server came back to inform us that they would have to make a regular old fashion, as they didn't have all the ingredients to make the special one on the menu. We started with the Kentucky Pride meat and cheese board. We enjoyed all the meats and cheeses, along with these sweet pickled cucumbers that were fantastic. We also split the Peach Chicken entree. Let me tell you, one of the best meals we have ever had in Lexington. The green beans and mashed potatoes were delicious and cooked perfectly. The chicken had so much flavor and was the complete opposite of dry, (Trying to avoid using the "m" word. Ha!) from their rosemary brine. The peaches and peach sauce were sweet and a perfect finish to the chicken. We would absolutely order both of these dishes again. The chef happened to walk by our table, and stopped to answer any questions we had. Very friendly, and appreciative. My only complaint was the service. Our server was extremely friendly, but it took forever to get our drinks and food. I remember 45 minutes in we still hadn't even received our charcuterie board yet. It took over an hour to get our entree, and we had to eat it quickly because we were running behind. From the time we sat down, until we got up to leave it took an hour and twenty minutes. This was at lunch time, and there were only 5 tables total in the restaurant. Even with the slow service, we will absolutely be back! We will just plan on enjoying a nice leisurely lunch. The food and ambiance are worth it!

JB H.

Yelp
Food was good, service ok, prices were very high for breakfast/brunch. I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu and the bill was still $50 with tip, without any drinks. You could easily spend 60+ here for breakfast. Biggest irritation was having to pay to park across the street when the Hotel "valet" parking lot was EMPTY. There were three cars in in when we arrived. 10-12 when we left, see picture. For HIGH prices, they should provide, or pay for, parking. We won't be back.
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
This place just opened, but so far they are knocking it out of the park. Deviled eggs are a must have to start. I've been told they will change with the seasons. We all shared the ribeye and it was about as good as you can make it. The place is elegant/eclectic/extra special. Don't pass it up.
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
I would give this 10/5 stars if I could!! Ask for Tony at the bar and TRUST your bartenders! Even though menu crafted cocktails were wonderful, the intentional custom cocktails made off menu were the highlight. Started with "what spirits do you like? Refreshing or spirit-forward?" and a custom drink would appear specific to your preferences. Best bartender and incredible space. Friend ordered the $110 Wagyu Ribeye and worth every dollar- best steak ever. Wonderful space to wait at if in line for Lost Palm or worth any trip out for this unique bar. Food, drinks, vibe, service- all exceptional.

Jonelle M.

Yelp
We visited in July. The place was not crowded. The service was slow and mediocre at best. The craft cocktails are definitely not craft in any way shape or form. Very disappointing for the price and location.

Julie S.

Yelp
When we arrived to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we were seated promptly. We sat for at least 10 minutes looking over the menu, and no one came to say hello or give us water. Once we decided on what we wanted to, I went to the restroom. Upon my return I saw we had water, and my husband said the server asked if he was waiting for anyone, to which my husband replied, "No, we've been waiting here awhile." With no apologies, the server took my husband's drink order and our soup order, and my husband asked for a large glass of water with lemon for me since he knew that would be my drink choice fort the evening. My husband said we'd be ordering more in a bit. The server returned with my water, but said nothing and left before we could give him the rest of our order. Several minutes went by without the server returning. My husband and I realized that we were about to pay a lot of money for horrible, inattentive service for a special celebration dinner. We got up and left. We went to Jeff Ruby's where we had a phenomenal dinner with an outstanding server named Steven and his assistant Mason.

K L.

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant and bar. I really want to give it 5 stars. The service is excellent, wine list is excellent but the food is too complicated. I had the fried chicken which is good. Unfortunately my friend ordered a soup that was so salty she could not eat it. Then her Cesar salad made with frisée lettuce was just plain weird. I ordered a sweet potato pie that had been "deconstructed" but not described that way. It was baby food with a heaping helping of purple ice cream. It was as unappealing as a mud puddle. To me "deconstructed " is code for too lazy to make a proper pastry. And, apparently the chef has an addiction to quinoa. I like quinoa but not as a garnish on every dish. I hope this review is read with an open mind. I would like to give it 5 stars when I get back to Lexington.

Yelp
Me and my partner made a reservation for 8 pm on a Sunday night. We arrived there 10 mintues before and they quickly took us to our table. In our reservation we included that we were celebrating our anniversary. The server was nice, though it seems that our server and the kitchen was busy with a party next door. We just got water and our main courses. Our server did come to check in on us multiple times. The gave us a delicious honey butter bread with devious black garlic aoli. My partner got the lamb wellington which he found delicious. I had the fried chiken and it was not 40 dollar quality. It was bland, unseasoned and a bit overfried. I had my partner try and he confirmed it was rather bland and dry. If I had paid 15 or 20 dollars I wouldn't be leaving this review, but this chiken was almost 40 dollars! After this we were offered the dessert menu. We decided to leave after this. I was hoping they would offer us something or celebrate us on our anniversary but they did not. The ambience was nice, even with the party next door. The tables and dishwear were nice. This place is expensive though. If you go I would recommend the lamb wellington, and if you are celebrating to let your server know directly. I would not recommend the chiken.

Yelp
I will start with the positives. The hotel is beautiful, the bar really nice, the outdoor patio is exceptional, and the staff courteous and attentive. But the night we ate here, the food was only average at best, other than the lamb chops ($64), which were quite good. The dish, however, only had two relatively small chops for this price. The shrimp fritters ($24) were woefully lacking for shrimp (mostly dough), the rabbit ravioli ($48) was way overcooked with very little filling compared to the amount of dough, and the fried chicken ($36) was a tiny portion compared to the cost of the dish. I tasted no shrimp in the appetizer and the fried chicken was a single small breast served over a slice of cornbread. Costs here are exceptionally high, especially given the portion sizes. I would look closely at the menu available online to get an idea of the cost before you commit. For the night we were here, the imbalance between food - quality and quantity - versus cost was significant. The cocktails were good, but again pricey at $19. Overall, this night out was double or triple the overall cost of other local favorites for us like the Tulip, J Alexander's, or Giuseppe's. And the food quality is considerably better at all three.

Yelp
A kind of hit-or-miss place. Hotel lobby is gorgeous, so the ambience overall is very nice. That initial glass of wine, though, ruins the experience Tiny pour (around 4 oz) for $16 -- the retail price of a whole bottle. That made me angry. That much wine doesn't even last long enough for the hors d'oeuvres. The dishes are always nicely presented but only some are really high quality. The Cornish hen was beyond dry. Way overcooked. But the Lamb Wellington was fine. If they would just cut out the price-gouging, it would be fun to come here.

Yelp
Meat was raw and was the consistency of bubble gum, and when I notified the server, I was told the chef said that's how it was supposed to be. I don't believe that is accurate... but the ambiance was good! Bar was nice!
