Grande Krewe Fine Wine & Spirits

People and places like this are why I have fallen in love with New Orleans. We are huge believers that things happen for a reason, and discovering Grande Krewe was one of this happy kismet moments. First of all, thank you so much to Craig at The Four Seasons Chandelier Bar. We had a fantastic conversation about experimental wines and spirits, and introduced me to Wonderbird Gin which is made in Taylor Mississippi from magnolias and rice! It isn't sold in Texas, so I was on a mission to find some to take home. After driving to the big box stores that said that they had it online, we discovered that they did not, and were told that it was discontinued. Never one to give up, we finally found Grande Krewe who immediately knew what we were talking about so we headed that way. The shop is in a quiet part of town, and we were immediately greeted by the official greeter - Black Pearl. Pearl has traveled the world and has dined at some of the best restaurants in Paris - she of course knew about this most interesting product, and showed us that it was even by the counter - she had great taste! Her Dad Bob scooped her up (She is a black pug dog) and told us about the gin, and what made Grande Krewe so unique. If you are looking for something new, with a great story behind it, this is the place. I can't wait to get back and try one of the Thursday night tastings, and of course to see Pearl.

Attended an event here and felt like I was in heaven. These are people who know their liquor. Want something unique that fit your tastes, these people will not only point you in the right direction they will give you whatever history of the producer and/or the type of liquor itself. When I move back to New Orleans I now k own how I go broke.

Literally stumbled upon this gem on a hot day. Lured in by the sign offering chilled Rosè. Stayed for almost 2 hours because the atmosphere and owner were incredibly lovely. Can’t wait to go back!

Knowledgeable, fun staff who were more than happy to take the time and offer information and recommendations. Greatly appreciated their expertise, extensive selection, and beautiful shop.

I really enjoyed the mezcal tasting. It was informative. There was a good selection of mezcal brands to sample. I'd definitely return for another tasting or for purchases.

At first glance, it is incredibly spacious, but not overwhelming, welcoming and very well categorized. It may feel a bit pretentious, but the clerk is willing and ready to help you choose the bottle based on your requirements and budget. By the way they have treats for your dog be sure to ask for one because they aren't ordinary ones =)

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here...we came to get a bunch of bottles as part of a decoration that were doing for our house and Terry made the shopping experience an incredible one, with an amazing level of knowledge and expertise about all spirits available. His service in addition to a tremendous atmosphere and decor made our night. We will certainly be back (spent enough to join the rewards club in one go haha). Couldn't recommend this place higher...a must see in New Orleans!

What a gem! Light years beyond the the typical liquor stores in NOLA. Outstanding mid to high range selection... Not your source for the run of the mill stuff. Owners were super helpful. Bought Bolden Vodka which is made in NOLA, five stars there too on taste and value. Highly recommend this place on all counts.

I went here for a wine tasting, which was excellent. The representative was very knowledgeable. The employees were super friendly and even offered me an extra taste of wine, and there are two adorable shop pugs. They have a decent variety of price points. I think they have tastings every Thursday plus other events, but check their social media. It would be great to combine a tasting here with dinner next door.

Have I told y'all how awesome this place is for their free delivery service within Orleans Parish & for their selections of wine and customer service and more!! So first of all, in this crazy few years since the COVID pandemic happened, I am so grateful for when this business is able to deliver me such amazing wines to my front doorstep. Second, they have an amazing team of owners (white and black) who have an amazing manager, Terry, who gets in things not found anywhere else! As far as I'm concerned, of all the different independent wine shops that I go to, this one has the best selection of red wines from the Ribera del Duero region is Spain plus some good ports and other creative things!! And I love red wine from Ribera del Duero! 3rd, when the pandemic has gone through some safer phases, they have hosted some wonderful tastings and guest hosts, one of my friends, and the events have always been wonderful. So that's that, shop local, shop online or in person and shop small... and get it delivered to your door, (except on Sunday)!

I had never been to this wine shop before as I'm the type that picks up wine from my grocery store, but I was attending their anniversary party with my Krewe to provide atmosphere and pour champagne. I figured as long as I'm here, I should take a bottle home (make it two!) I described the types of varietals and regions I enjoy, and their salesperson recommended 5 bottles that I would enjoy. I took home an Israeli Gewürztraminer and a New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. SO friendly, and accommodating!

How have I never reviewed Grand Krewe? It's the most wonderful wine store! GK packs so many different wines and spirits into that space, and so many hard-to-find wines, at that. Everyone there is so knowledgeable and personable, you can easily find what you need at any price range. Post-covid, all protocols are being followed. I attended a lovely champagne tasting last night and felt completely safe. Highly recommend checking out any kind of tasting here! They do other wine tastings and spirits too. GK is truly a local gem, an only-in-NOLA place. Please support this wonderful local business!

Very nice wine shop with a carefully curated selection of really good wines. Also selected liquors and a few beers. Great place...

New wine shop in my neighborhood and I get to be FTR. This is a rare opportunity 'round these parts these days. The people behind Grande Krewe are as welcoming as can be. As soon as my friends and I entered the store last night, we were offered a glass of the coldest rosé (the only way one should drink rosé, in my opinion) as we browsed. The shop is small, but stocked full of a great variety of bottles from around the world (sectioned accordingly). I was most impressed with the bubbly section. Yes, they had your Doms, your Krugs and your Veuves, but a good selection of mid range priced bottles I've never heard of (small batch?) Porch pounders (new word I learned!) on the bottle shelf. The owners are helpful and passionate about keepin' it local. There are two comfy armchairs in the front of the shop and don't be surprised if you feel like taking a load off and opening one of your just-purchased bottles right there. Lovely shop. I suspect I'll soon be a regular. Most likely will be keeping my eyes mid-shelf, though there are a good variety of modestly-priced wines (even an area with bottles $10 and under) as well as those setting you back a couple of C-notes on top shelf. Nice selection of spirits, too!

Racial profiling -- my husband and I (Black) couldn't browse the store without being followed around by who seemed to be the owner (white woman with red hair). Within seconds of my husband picking up/choosing a bottle, she had taken it to put at the front near the register. Very uncomfortable experience. Won't be back.

Kind of a beautiful hallucination really as Grande Krewe seems to appear out of nowhere as one is out strolling about. And inside is exactly what you would want a thoughtful neighborhood wine/spirits store to be-wines from around the world, from the better known to the whimsical. And a truly glorious wall of bubbles. The spirits are a carefully curated lot, with a great many things that you probably haven't heard of as well as the ones you know and love. Were it not enough, the room itself is ELEGANT, from the music playing to the beautiful soul behind the counter(I forgot her name, which I feel bad about as she learned mine! I blame it on all the cool selections)who conducts this booze ride with style. Aaaaaaand, you can taste! For 15 minutes I forgot the pandemic completely ;) So, if you need a bottle and a little peace of mind, journey on down to Grande Krewe and I promise your day will improve...

One of the best stores in New Orleans. Friendly staff and the owner Bob is always ready to talk about bourbon. Terry was very helpful as well, would 10/10 recommend going here. Support local business by going here!

Great store! Went looking for bourbon. Owners were very helpful and I left with a very tasty Pinhook bourbon that I've never had before. As a tourist it is unlikely that I'll be back, but I highly recommend this place.

Great wine and spirits shop just a stones throw from the French Quarter. Friendly and knowledgeable staff also. Plus great prices! They have been open throughout the lockdown, and thank goodness for that! This is now my go to wine and spirits store!

Expansive selection of wine, and nice staff. Needed two bottles of red for a wedding, and had fun exploring all the shelves looking for the right wine - saw a few interesting ones that I didn't get but might try later!

Awesome! There is not that many options in the vicinity that provides liquor. That's right. Any corner store or whatnot may just have beer. We were definitely looking for liquor, and only could walk as far as our legs could take us (not far). This place definitely has a wide range of options and price points. The owners are really sweet and welcoming too.

Thanks to a recommendation from New Orleans cake café & bakery, we walked a few blocks to the beautiful store. We needed a special bottle to offer as a thank you. A blessing with perfect offerings in any price range, nothing you would find in a regular store. We were provided with suggestions and no pressure, always a nice balance. Vive la Nouvelle Orléans!

Great store! Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, great wine selection and solid selection of liquors for reasonable prices. The space is really pretty too!

As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Bob who was very helpful and kind. He recommended a local Rum that we cannot wait to try. The place was very clean and well ventilated, there is something for everyone here and not too expensive.

Grand Krewe is a great place to pick up booze. It looks very high end (in addition to the clever name, the store features a grand piano and a resident pug, so you may think "Oh, pinkies raised!"), but the pricing is very reasonable. Plenty of top shelf liquor for under $30 a bottle! (Sazerac rye at $26 bottle, what what!) The staff is great and they made excellent recommendations. I was very impressed to see that they push taste and quality over expensive bottles. We were offered a taste of cab and a bite of toffee while we discussed our options. We only intended to pick up a bottle of wine but left with a bottle of local gin and rye in addition. The $13 bottle of rosé that we picked up was fantastic, too. They are truly passionate about booze at Grand Krewe and it definitely shows.

Nice shop with some great small vineyard wines. You get a lot for your money here. Well informed staff.

The owner is very hospitable, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the selection is extensive and the prices are very reasonable! Love the pug and the Pinots from Oregon

Great little shop with a nice bourbon selection. One of the owners(Bob) was nice enough to let us try a few whiskeys. Very good prices and top notch service!

This place is awesome. Great old / new world selections. Liquor selection gets better and better. If you want to do blind tasting, just set your price per person and they will pick bottles out for you and practically give you a class on the wine! I love this place!

Excellent shop. The service is great, all employees are knowledgeable, and the selection is good. For those interested, they usually have tastings on Thursday evenings.

While I was on vacation, my friends and I wanted some champagne. We headed over to Grande Krewe and I was very pleased with the whole experience. It was very clean, and it was organized so I could find exactly what I was looking for right away. Also, the customer service was superb!!! When I visit again, I am definitely coming back to Grande Krewe!!
