Google
Delicious! Wide selection from stuffed peppers to stroganoff, fried chicken or fish cutlets, and a large selection of salads: cabbage, carrot, beet to name a few. Also a small pastry selection with apple or cherry turnovers some cakes and puddings. I tried a chicken cutlet; excellent when heated in my air fryer. I got the grated carrot salad, which is grated carrots. It had at least double the amount of salt it would need for my taste. - I typically don’t use salt when I cook at home for health reasons. - I mixed it with additional vegetables I had on hand. It’s also spicy with cayenne. The beet and bean (red kidney beans) salad is fantastic! It’s hearty but light and refreshing. The cabbage salad also is absolutely delicious. It is shavings of red peppers, grated orange carrots, slices of cabbage, ribbons of yellow peppers, and other fresh green bits with wonderful seasoning. The beef for the stroganoff is just delicious. A deep flavor. Nice cut of beef, and the mushroom gravy that goes with it is some thing you won’t forget and will come back for more! They do have prepared mashed potatoes, and some bulgur as well that you could choose to take home with you to go with the beef stroganoff. - The customer service is absolutely stellar! Sweet, kind, patient and helpful. I got small size container of three salads, at $4.50-ish each, a chicken cutlet, a fish cutlet, beef for beef stroganoff and the mushroom gravy that goes with it (which I ate over farro) and a cherry turnover for $45

Google
I’ve been going to this store for a while now and it never disappoints! The most amazing variety of fresh food and bakery. They have delicious cakes too! The owners are two sisters from Mariupol and the store is pro Ukrainian not like a lot of neighborhood “Eastern European” stores so if you want to show support, shop here! Stuff is always nice and helpful! And try their delicious borsch🤌🏻

Google
I recently discovered this amazing Russian food store with my wife. The selection of products is incredible - they have everything from traditional Russian staples like pickled vegetables and caviar to hard-to-find ingredients for authentic Russian dishes. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable and the quality of the products is top-notch. I will definitely be returning for more delicious Russian treats in the future!

Yelp
Ukrainian Russian deli/store only one in the valley that is Ukrainian. Very clean place, and friendly service. Elenor helped me out. She was the sweetest lady ever, very patient when I had questions of ingredients and items. I was so impressed with the quantity of prepared foods they have. The cold food salad section is top notch and don't even get me started on their amazing entree food prepared section. Parking is in a little complex they have. Mini market has Russian, Ukrainian and Armenian specialty items hard to find elsewhere. Peirogis, Russian dumplings (Peliminis), cold cuts, cheeses, etc.., Also very limited produce too! Highlights were: 1) Russian Beet salad (with mayo & sour cream) 2) Eggplant salad with walnuts & garlic (mayo & sour cream) 3) Korean glass noodle salad (Japchae) 4) Smoked Eggplant dip 5) Russian potato salad aka Salad Olivier 6) Eggplant & peppers cooked in tomato sauce Salad served cold. 7) Basa fish filet fried 8) Basa fish filet cooked in tomato sauce 9) Rice with beef chunks (amazing) 10) Sautéed cabbage with prunes 11) Mushrooms with Couscous (amazing) 12) Borscht soup with meat or without Can't wait to return to try more in the future.

Yelp
Good Russian and Ukraine food. Nice service 95% of the time. It's a mini market as far as ambiance goes. It's mostly a take home Eastern European cooked food to enjoy at home.

Cleanliness is very important to me. And this place is clean and tidy. A very large number. Home-cooked food. And very very tasty. I liked the pilaf and fish. Also a lot of good desserts. Abundance of chocolate and sweets Excellent selection of soups. It's also fashionable to sit in front of a store with a canapé. Cozy and cute Very good service. Smiling :)) And dairy products

Yelp
Local Russian market/deli. Authentic and local space. We got so many items I don't even know the names of it all, but everything was tasty, fresh, and authentic. The prices are reasonable. I'm always looking for matzo ball soup - so this was good. I also got a lamb shank large bone in - awesome. The beet salad was amazing! They are friendly and patient in explaining the various types of items. The store has a great selection of items. Will need to go back soon!

Yelp
Wow thank you all at Grandmas deli today! Last minute dinner party was amazing thanks to your ready made options. My girlfriend and I got the beef rice, potato's, chicken garlic, beets salad, couscous with mushrooms, and other lil sides for 5 people and it was more than enough just finishing up now. The staff was super helpful and kind. Thank you and will be seeing you all soon :)

Also excellent pastries and candies. I cannot say enough about grandmas. Always my first choice for incredible authentic Ukrainian, Russian comfort food. Yelp
I've passed this place so many times in the morning while I'm getting my coffee before work. Today finally able to go in and I was so excited!!!! Picked up some pate for later then made my way to the prepared food. Tried to ask for plate but I'm week (sucker) and the guy just said he'll just put it all separately. These are all priced by weight: 2-Stuffed cabbage 2- Fish filet $38.27 these were huge pieces! Lrg- Finger potatoes Med- beef Med- Pickled carrot Med- kasha Med yellow rice Piroshky 2 of each chicken, cabbage potato. $2.49 each. Customer service was good. I saw on Yelp they do platters / plates will possible do that next time. Went super happy and ordered a lot this time but glad I did. Side note the finger potatoes are super bomb!!!! Ate them on the car ride home. Would get those in mass amount again!

Yelp
Love my sirniki there, food is always fresh, and everyone is friendly . I also get salads and chicken killers

Yelp
Believe all the 5 star reviews. I asked about the different varieties of beet salads and eggplant salads. Besides mentioning main ingredients, the woman helping me gave me a taste of each one. They were all so delicious that it was hard to decide but I settled on a beet salad with prunes, a layered salad with beets, carrots potatoes and herring, and an eggplant puree that was slightly sweet and slightly spicy. Then she looked around, noticed that there were no other customers waiting and started giving me tastes of other interesting dishes, including a unique version of chopped liver with butter and a cheese "cake" that was to die for--had no crust but was somewhat like the filling in an Italian ricotta cake. Before I left we wound up discussing similarities and differences between various Ukrainian dishes and similar Eatern European Jewish dishes I grew up with. So much for getting in and out quickly. I only went in because of Yelp reviews and it being near my periodontist. I live in Culver City, but I will have to make it back there before my next periodontist appointment.

Yelp
This is a deli - no sit down tables. You may not know what all these Russian deli dishes are - but they're all pretty amazing. The ladies behind the counter will help you out. Sooo good.

Yelp
This is the best grocery store in LA! The food is superb and people who work here are amazing! I came today at 8:10 pm totally sure they are open until 9pm. Girls helped me with all my purchases without mentioning the store is closed. I realized it only after I left and they locked the front door walking to their car right after. I'm sooooo sorry I kept you late, girls! And thank you so much for saving my evening with all this delicious food! !!! P.S. I am in love with your smetannik!

Anna B.

Yelp
The worst food poisoning I've ever had in my life. Bought a couple of their salads and I've been dying for 2 days. I'm afraid this place doesn't really care about their customers but only about their income.
google avatar

Cassie B.

Yelp
Just stopped by to look and had to leave with a stuffed cabbage roll. It was so delicious! The case was full of delicious looking deli items that I'll have to stop in for another time. The stroganoff was calling my name. Very friendly staff and welcoming of someone who hadn't been in before.
google avatar

Yelp
I love that we discovered this Russian deli. Not only the food here is fresh and delicious, everyone who works here are uncharacteristically friendly and professional. I highly recommend their deli items, like Cabbage Rolls, pickled vegetable, Venigret and Olivie salads. If you're unfamiliar Russian cuisine, I'm here to tell you: its presentation undermines the deliciousness. Russian waffles and waffle-related sweets are to die for. And everything at a reasonable prize. A great neighborhood find!

Yelp
Great food! Lots of delicious soups & hot food! Barrels of candy & bottles of Kvac! Teas & great preserves!

Yelp
Goddamn! Soooo good. I got this rice with beef that was suuuper tasty and then came back and got some beef and cheese crepe/blintzes. They were solid. I had this honey cake that was outstanding too. Really nice people there as well. Just has a really good vibe. I am Ukrainian/Russian from like generations ago that came her, but have a bunch of Ukrainian and Russian friend and used to eat this food all the time, but now not so much. Was really good to have a lot of this stuff for the first time in a while. Slava Ukraini Fuck Putin

Yelp
On the eve of Thanksgiving... What am I doing?? I am on a hunt with a friend for pierogis!! Why? Cuz we came upon it on an internet search and now we wanted some. Lol So we searched and this deli popped up as the number 2 choice and since it wasn't that far.... We decided to take a little trip! But honestly as soon as I walked in, the pierogis kind of left my brain. It was a very tiny shop but they managed to squeeze in alot of items. To the right was a freezer with frozen goods and a couple of reach ins that held drinks to some other items that needed refrigeration. Then the shelves in the store held instant coffee (nothing American though... Thank goodness!), Cookies, crackers, candy and some other items. They did have a jar of cornichons which I ended up buying. The ingredient list didn't mention it but it tasted heavily of licorice which was a little odd. Now comes the cold cases. They had everything from simple salads to chicken Kiev and pretty much everything in between. Lol The only draw back for a person like me was that none of the signs matched the food. So the sign that was near the dish didn't necessarily mean that it was the dishes name.... And since it was starting to get busy, I didn't want to hog all the attention by asking a ton of questions on what everything was. :/ Don't get me wrong, I did ask my fair share. Lol for all the people there after me...I apologize but I wanted to know what I was getting! Their dark rye bread with sunflower was amazing!!! I would totally get that again and again and again! They also had a good selection of Eastern European salumi as well. The 2 that we got were both amazing! Totally different then the Italian salumi that I normally eat. I also ended up getting some cous cous with mushrooms, fingerling potatoes (get them so freaking garlicky!), Stuffed cabbage rolls, and some of their pastries. I can't wait to eat them for dinner tonight!! I will definitely be back and maybe next time it won't be so busy so that I can ask more questions.

Yelp
My wife is Lithuanian and I found this gem on a Yelp search. We tried the stuffed peppers, and a cutlet with beef and mushrooms, an eggplant dish, a beet salad, and some delicious Baltic bread. We could come back again and again and keep trying different items and we would love it. They are set up more for food to go, but they have 2 small tables in the store and we stayed to enjoy our food. My wife spoke with one of the Ukrainian ladies about current situation in Ukraine. This place is frequented by Russians and Ukrainians, but it deserves support from Americans who are eager to try delicious ethnic cuisine.

Beth S.

Yelp
LOVE this food! Very much like what Nana used to make! Everything is tasty and it's nice to stock you the freezer with some of these home made goodies

Yelp
Great store but just a heads up -- it's very small. Essentially, two small aisles. If you're looking for a vast smorgasbord of Russian foods, you might be disappointed. It's not really a store where you can wander around, exploring unfamiliar products. With the limited space, it can also be a little tight dodging other customers. However, they do carry all the staples and you should be able to find all the basics here. I was very pleased with the service. Not sure if she was the owner or not, but the woman I interacted with was very helpful. She overheard me asking another employee about bread and jumped in with suggestions. I point this out since she seemed busy but made sure that the customer (me) was assisted in the best manner. She helped me pick out some black rye bread (with sunflower seeds). She was very helpful with serving suggestions and offered to slice it. The bread ended up being really delicious. I speak fluent Russian so it's easy for me to communicate here but I do believe that everyone speaks basic English. Parking in a small and shared lot. Seemed like more spots were available in the adjacent lot. I had no issue finding a spot out front on Friday (early) afternoon.

J L.

Yelp
Great selection of food and friendly service. 2 small tables inside or you can takeaway from the deli.
google avatar

Yelp
Big portions, very fair prices, love Babushka! They have a Ukrainian flag and a "F*ck Putin" sign on display inside and I fully approve of that.

Yelp
Amazing little store with really delicious Ukrainian food. I love that it's clean and the people that work here are actually nice. We had them cater an event for us and it was so tasty, prepared on time, and big hit. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I really didn't want to write this review - but my last interaction with them made me finally do it..I have been a customer for a while both in this and Hollywood locations- and have referred numerous customers to them over the years. However, on multiple occasions I would come home and discover that certain item (s) would be missing in the bag that they would pack for me. Every time I called to let them know - they would always say that they forgot to put it - but " no worries I was not charged for it.." The problem is the receipts they give you are not itemized which is not ethical- and you can never find which items you actually bought and how much they are as it only gives you a number of items and the prices. I continued shopping there despite these glitches because I like their products, however recently I purchased a lot of products there and before I left I asked them to dbl check that all my food was packaged properly and that I have all items . She confirmed I had all products in. When I got home - I again discovered that certain product - that they sliced for me- was not in my bags. I called them and stated the facts and the response was : Well, if it was sliced , then you paid for it and it means you have it..." Too bad that they would take a position of accusing the customer of basically lying about something that keeps happening on the regular basis.. that's how businesses loose their customers . Very disappointing

Yelp
Great place. Good people working. Fresh food. Free parking. Can buy great tasting mayonnaise here too.

Yelp
Food is amazing but the service is top notch. Regardless if your Russian speaking or not they are extremely nice and guide you.

Yelp
Stopped to pick up dinner. Great selection of comfort food. Had a sampling of hot and a couple salads. The Rice with beef was outstanding, fingerling potatoes were great and the marinated mushrooms were my favorite. The yelp site isn't really how you order. I think it's outdated because they really didn't understand a plate with 2 sides so we just picked a number of things to try and had a really nice dinner at home. I'd definitely recommend Grandmas Deli for a good easy dinner with a lot of variety. It's dishes that you really can't find outside an ethnic restaurant. Good food, good prices, and a lot of choices.
google avatar

Eleonora V.

Yelp
The sales people who work here are polite and attentive. Large assortment of hot and cold dishes. The prices are high. But most of the food is delicious. But not all. For example, cabbage rolls are not tasty, cabbage is tough, minced meat is not clear with what additives. Unfortunately there is no price tag. This is explained by the fact that prices change constantly. Since the dishes familiar to us are on sale, we occasionally visit this store. You can sometimes, when too lazy to cook, buy ready-made food from them.

Daniel F.

Yelp
Came here on and off for several years, but now something really changed for the worse. All sales girls are new, and boy, are they UNFRIENDLY. Both of the girls there looked like they were doing me a favor servicing me, no smiles, looking grim, one word responses, no smiles back, and to top it all off, there was a swear word on the wall about Putin. I don't like having some political crap shoved in my face when I am there to get food. It's not a Ukrainian rally. It's a grocery store. Just disgusting service. The staff appears to be all new now, my guess is that all the nice ones I used to see there were fired because they were Russian and replaced with Ukrainian stock. This is also a violation of Prohibited Employment Policies to boot. I am never setting my foot in that place again. I was aggravated when I left and I don't need that kind of shopping experience.
google avatar

Donald M.

Yelp
Takeout from here is always fresh and very tasty. Though I'm not familiar with Ukrainian food the staff will try to help you with your selections and they haven't steered me wrong yet.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Great store for anyone with a craving for Eastern European food, with a special emphasis on Russian/Ukrainian cuisine. The store is always well staffed so you don't have to wait long to be attended to by one of ladies working behind the counter. They all speak passable English, but if you speak any of the Slavic languages, especially Russian, your transactions will typically happen more briskly with more interaction from the person helping you. If you're a regular, they will always tell you what was made that morning, and there are usually at least two types of soup and salad that are lovingly prepared by the ladies working the store that very morning. Even though this place has a very good selection of hot and cold smoked meats, the main attraction is the incredible home made food that's available there daily. Delicious meat pies with crispy dough, dumplings, potatoes with mushrooms, liver and onions done the way its meant to be done, stuffed fish, stuffed cabbage leaves, man I'm drooling as i write this. Long story short, if you have any Russian in you, come check this place out, you'll love it and it will be your to go spot after your first visit. If you dont have any Russian in you, give me a call, I'll help remedy that situation, and you'll get a nice dinner thrown in with the experience. I dont bite, unless you like that sort of thing of course. Na zdarovia!

Yelp
This hurts me on such a level.... I'll NEVER return here while this person works here. This 1 star is for him specifically. I've been a customer for about 11 years, long before I wrote my original review. I came here today for only a couple items, a bag of taters and a couple packs of frozen perogis. When I entered, there was a man already inside deciding what he wanted and as I gathered my few items, a woman walked in. Everyone is speaking in Russian, which I'm used to even though at times it can feel like odd man out... not that I prefer anyone to speak English AT ALLLLLL but you stick out like a sore thumb in any place that's a cultural spot if that makes sense. Anyway, I got my bag and the shop owner (Anna who's always been lovely to me, and still has 5 stars) came out, greeted me, then returned to the back... (so she didn't see what happened). The two employees working were a woman I've seen many times, and a new guy. I'm ready, so I walk up to the counter and place my items there so I can ring up and be done. No one comes to check me out and they're still going back n forth in conversation with the Russian customers while ignoring me completely. Finally, the guy walks up to the register, and says "I'm so sorry.." then gestures for me to step aside. So, confused I grab my stuff, & step aside. Then the Russian woman comes up where I was, and puts her things down and they're still going back and forth about what else she may want. Y'all.... I'M GASSSSSED. So I stand there for a second, shocked and the female clerk looks at me and says "I'm so sorry". Which let's me know that she's fully aware of what's going down is bullshit, BUT Russians first regardless. Soooooo, I put the items in my hand back where they were and left the store. When I got to my car, I called Anna (the owner) and told her how I was just pushed aside for a Russian customer. ... this experience had me CRYING. I'm so hurt.... she asked what happened and I told her. She said something to him in Russian, and said he said I was still looking at veggies (HE LIED TO HER....) perhaps he didn't know I was on the phone, or that I've been a customer a LONG time and he made up a story. So I told her it wasn't true and to look at the camera footage. She then put him on the phone (she knew I wasn't lying, she knows me very well).... and he said he was new and sorry, and his English, and he didn't know who was first blah blah blah. (How could you move me from the register when I'm ready to check out if you didn't know I was first?) Sir... customer service is A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. You just treated me like Russian dollars spend better than mine, and like you only care about Russian customers.... you thought I was a random black customer who was whatever. Lol.... hell, for all you know I could've been Russian! You don't know me, but you treated me like a second class and meanwhile when things were ROUGH during the lock down, I supported this store when there is a HUGE Gelsons across the street. I've brought tons of customers here, not only with my reviews, but my word of mouth. You speak English enough to know that what you did was so wrong... and you knew it was wrong enough to make up a story so shame on you. As long as you're there, I'll never come back, and neither will my brother. You're terrible. I'm heartbroken.

Yelp
Writing great reviews and supporting small businesses that offer amazing quality special things is one of my real joys in life. This deli is great: service, food, price, the whole experience. I had an assortment of deli foods and soup, enough for four people, that came in at under $50 and was clearly made with care. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great food, have to microwave it though. It is best to take out. The beef stroganoff was the highlight for me and the peirogies (I know I misspelled that) were great too.

Yelp
Every time I visit LA I like to buy Russian-Ukrainian food, this time I was pleasantly surprised by the great hospitality and friendliness. I really want to come back to this place, again, with a huge choice of homemade food and a sense of care. Thank you very much, you made me feel like I stepped home for a moment.

Yelp
I've been shopping here for many times. Last couple of times I've been very disappointed! Good not as fresh and super salty. Today I bought sirnik with raisins it had a long white hair inside. Disgusting, I'll never buy any food from them again!

Yelp
This is such a hidden gem! (Right next to Starbucks) Every time I have come here the staff is very friendly, helpful, and answered all of my questions. This place is a one stop shop!! All varieties of ethnic cuisines.. from Asian to Russian Armenian and Persian drinks, meats, salads, and desserts! They have everything! Dairy, frozen foods, it's like a deli and a mini grocery store. Very fresh!

Yelp
Got a bunch of stuff - chicken meatballs, potato cake, chicken kiev and others. WOW! So delicious and the prices incredibly reasonable! Can't recommend highly enough.
