Grandpa Bar - Coffee & Cocktails

Dude, this place blew me away with their grandpa original latte. I just wanted some coffee and found the best coffee I’ve had. This spot is so clean and cool inside. Never would’ve expected it from outside. Micah was super dope, very funny and helpful. Made us feel welcome right away and helped us order. They also got jazz night on Monday. Highly recommend, best coffee in town!

Mikah is a great bartender and quite funny too! He made me my first ever espresso martini and I was very impressed! It was delicious! The margaritas with tajin spice were incredible!

We decided to check out this bar and coffee shop just down the street from our Airbnb while visiting Nashville this past weekend. If you’re in the area, you definitely need to stop by! The service was fantastic, and every cocktail on the menu was excellent. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Nashville. Mike was amazing! Such a great spot with an incredible atmosphere.

Cool little place. Excellent espresso martinis. Recommend The Candy Dish. Service was a little slow, but only because there was only one bartender working. Still got great service!

Absolutely the best Espresso Martini I've had to date (and I've had a lot)! And the flight was just as good! Bartender was very attentive and super friendly! Will definitely make another trip there when back in the area!

We had a welcome cocktail party at Grandpa Bar for our wedding weekend and it was amazing!! The cocktails here are incredible and the bartenders and owner are so kind! It is also so beautiful inside, very cool jazz club club vibes, and the music was so good we ended up not wanting to change it to our playlist! It was also so easy to set up a private event with them- helpful, great communication, and well organized. I would highly recommend if you're looking to rent out for an event or just looking for a cocktail or coffee! :) Can't wait to come back soon!

I love this place, it gives off a hometown bar atmosphere. The owner, Mike is always walking around hosting and remembers when you come back. The cocktails are a 10/10 and the bartender is such a vibe!

On a road trip home to Texas so no alcohol for us! However It is a great little late night stop for coffee. We got their signature coffee and it was delicious! The atmosphere was great with some very talented songwriters performing! We will stop back by again.

Ok- just WOW! Hidden GEM! Walk in and get a small, quaint, chill, speakeasy vibe! LOVE! Menu was simple but mighty- the owner was there working behind the bar! He forgot my drink- only took 10 min total to get... the banana pudding espresso martini (was phenomenal BTW- EVERY espresso martini needs cold foam on top) but he felt bad so offered to comp my next drink and my friends next drink! WHAT FREAKIN SERVICE! Some of the best drinks and friendliest staff I have had! Obsessed! This will be my new go to place!

Currently loving grandpa bar! Coffee shop in the morning, cocktail bar by night?! Not that you need to know anything other than that- let me tell you about my experiences. First off in the morning, their coffee menu is what you would expect. However, they do have homemade syrups, one of which is inspired by the classic goo goo cluster. Later in the evening you can find the same, but darker, ambiance. They have great drink specials. Im not sure off the top of my head if this is an every thursday type deal but they had 1/2 off espresso martinis. And on top of that they have a whole list of espresso martinis to choose from. I got the salted caramel one, it was amazing. Id want to try the banana pudding espresso martini next.

I'll keep it short and to the point: the service and ambiance is nice. Shipley's donuts is an interesting choice for pastry, but they're serviceable. Coffee was on the lower end of the spectrum of quality in Nashville, especially for the price. Decent spot but not recommended. Appreciate the response from the owner, and if I have a chance to go again I'll give a shot to give more detail and context.

Adorable little hole in the wall! They have alcoholic drinks as well as in house espresso. I love that they have mocktails as well! Not a place you'd think of visiting but such a cute place!

Vintage meets modern here at Grandpa bar. Check it out while it's still a hidden gem. Food not served here (yet) at least for the evening portion. Drinks are up to par and my favorite, a self serve water stand. Ambience is a treat and I love a comedy night. Seats are diverse. Some high tops. Some long benches. Intimate and cozy meet up!

This place is so cute and cozy, and it's tucked away from a normal crowd but not too far from my place. I've been here twice now and both times were awesome. I've taken advantage of their $5 cocktail of the week - the first time it was the Chai Me a River and the second it was Peppermint Mocha-tini. Both were fabulous! I loved the peppermint drink, and it was perfect for a late December night. I stumbled in on an open mic night and it was a pleasant experience. I love the mood lighting, the table and bar setup, and their menu. You absolutely must go - local or visitors! Support local & tip your bartenders.

Found this gem of a place on yelp! Come to find out it just opened in October. The place is a whole mood... from the decor, the owner, the employees, the music and the great coffee. We got a cold brew and a honky tonk latte. They make the syrups in house and our drinks were delicious. I hope they bottle and sell them one day! We were only in the area for a few days and we stopped by every morning. They also had some delicious looking pasties, I believe from frothy monkey. Wish we would have had an opportunity for a cocktail. This place would be great for studying (they have WiFi) and do private events too! Definitely check it out!

This is a great new addition to the North Nashville neighborhood. It is a charming day to night concept, that serves up coffee by day and craft cocktail by night. While the menu changes, the warm and cozy environment is consistent. Parking is a breeze, with plenty of street parking available. And the ambiance is on point with beautiful decor, vintage signs, and velvet bar seats. What really stands out here is the quality and personalized service. The team is focused on creating unique cocktails, while still forming relationships with the customers. I'll be back, and highly recommend it to others!

One of the classiest bars I've ever been to.... This spot has so much character and charm. Before I even get to the cocktails, here's what we loved most: * Speakeasy vibe * The bar chairs are so unique (and comfortable) * There are so many small details in the decor (ask them about the 1920s cocktail menu posted on the wall), even down to the signage in the bathrooms * This place serves coffee in the morning, then cocktails in the evening Now moving into the cocktails, you can tell there is so much love put into these recipes. In speaking to their staff, they make all their syrups from scratch... including the "goo goo" inspired syrup for those locals.. My favorite was the Espresso martini (they also have a Chai version!!). For anyone reading this and considering a classy cocktail bar tonight.. DO IT. You will not be disappointed!!

Grandpa Bar was a pleasant surprise to stumble on during my first visit to Nashville. It had opened a couple of days before our group left and we just discovered it the morning of our flight -- we wish we had known about it a day earlier! Upon entering, I met the owner Mike - he was so kind and welcoming. I decided to order an iced matcha latte with oat milk, and upon his suggestion, added their house made lavender syrup. It was my favorite beverage during the whole trip! Others in my group had some of the coffee drinks and enjoyed those a lot as well. They also have an assortment of pastries brought fresh daily, including both sweet and savory options. You can really tell that Mike put so much thought and effort into this establishment. The decor is reminiscent of a cigar lounge or speakeasy, I think. I loved all the details! At the moment they're only open as a coffee shop, but their bar is scheduled to open October 12, 2023. If I ever make another trip to Nashville, I will definitely have to come back and check it out!

I use my grading criteria for every review I do, and I so not sway from it. 5 stars on Yelp is perfect, therefore you must provide a perfect experience to get 5 stars from me. Grandpa Bar is going to be a sought after place. So unique in the layout and ambience of the inside, and contrary to what so many shops do, they are staying hyper focused on what they do best. 1 roast of coffee. A medium roast that has an amazing chocolate flavor with subtle hint of hazelnut. This roast is used in all their brews (drip, espresso, and cold brew) and having tried all 3 I can attest that the flavor profile changes based on what you get. The story behind this bar is so cool, and I only know it because the owner is so friendly and personable and told us all about it at my business meeting this morning. You can have coffee in the morning and a cocktail later on all at the same place, and you can have your own small get together there as well. It's beautiful inside, and you'll have a great time when you go. 5 stars all the way!! Make the trip. It'll be worth it!

I love Grandpa's Bar! There are 2 things I look for when I go to a bar or restaurant that will make me leave a 5-star review, and that's amazing hospitality and great quality drinks or food! The team here is so kind, and you just feel like you're right at home but a cool home - Grandpa's Bar! The quality of drinks here is special because, first and foremost, they're made with love, but the ingredients and thought process while making these drinks are top-notch, and that's a major shout-out to Mike, the owner. Warm, inviting, cool vibe, eclectic are the first things that immediately come to mind when I walk into Grandpa Bar in inside Apex Marathon Village........then WOW tasty & delicious flavor warm and sometimes wake me up once I have their killer offerings......Mike and his team have what many lack, and that's that warm, inviting culture (....and that's on both sides of the counter)..... I'll be coming here often and cannot wait for those tasty cocktails!!!

Such an instant classic of a spot! It doesn't take long after stepping in to Grandpa's Bar, whether in the morning for coffee or the evening for a cocktail, to feel comfortable & at home. I've experienced both their morning coffee and evening offerings multiple times now, and neither have ever lacked in both taste and experience. I'm really excited to see where this place goes--but selfishly I hope it stays small! Either way, they've got something special!

Hip speakeasy by night, cute coffee shop by day. Excellent staff, great atmosphere, I have yet to have a bad drink here. Fun events throughout the week and conveniently located close enough to everything that you can scooter or uber to other places in Nashville without having to deal with the traffic and parking hassle of downtown. Definitely check this place out (they have a very well-maintained instagram page)

This is a hidden gem! I am a huge coffee lover and always have to try different places while in town. I love home made syrups don't give me the bottled stuff. This place has it all. Craft coffee that has a delicious flavor and house made syrups. Would definitely recommend. The vibe is great here! Love it all.

Great, cutely decorated coffee spot! The coffee is amazing, and plenty of seating / tables if you want to hang out a bit, do some work, chat or play games! Stumbled onto this location within a couple days of their opening and it was 2 blocks from my airbnb! They're also walking distance from a few great distilleries!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Mike and his people are amazing. The decore and vibe are definitely comfortable and enjoyable. Mickey's Classic is their take on an Old Fashion cocktail and it's the best one I have ever had. This is a new spot and I really hope it's a hit for the locals. I'm jealous because I don't live in Nashville....yet .

Grandpa Bar is truly a gem! Michael (the owner) is extremely kind and makes everybody feel welcome. The design of the bar is stunning, with lots of antique furniture, cozy seating, and an open floor plan that makes for great conversation and makes you feel right at home. The drinks and pastries are fantastic, we went back here three times during our stay since it was all so good! Couldn't recommend this place enough, definitely one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to!

Grandpa Bar is a fantastic new coffee shop in town. The atmosphere is a hip, cool blend of modern and retro, with ample seating, good music, and a vibe that reminds you of sitting down for coffee with your grandpa (if your grandpa has great taste in music and decor!). Mike, the owner, is so friendly and you'll feel welcomed the moment you step in the door. The coffee is delicious and the pastries are so tasty too (if you can snag one! get there early before they sell out). My favorite food was the ham and cheese kolache and my favorite drink was the Cheekwood oat milk latte. Grandpa Bar will not disappoint!

ive tried most coffee shops in nashville and this one is top 5! its the newest addition to the city and here to stay! i got the grandpa's original which is made with caramel and sweet cream. the cream is just right.. perfect sweetness and texture! service is here is top notch as well as the cozy ambiance! would definitely be back and try the honky tonk latte. and this is the perfect shop to work from home! 10/10 experience overall

Grandpa Bar has absolutely delicious cocktails that are made with intention and care. Every detail has been carefully thought out - from the signature ice cubes to the garnishes, as well as each crafted syrup used. The furniture and decor has been curated specifically for the space and so many items have an interesting story behind it. I could not recommend this bar enough!

As a resident of the apartment building, I love that I have somewhere close where I can grab a small bite, or coffee in the morning. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming, and it is an optimal setting to get work done. The service and staff are very kind. I will definitely be back!

Recently held a birthday celebration event here on a Wednesday night and Mike, the owner, and his bartenders went above and beyond for my guests and myself. They curated personally to our favorite cocktail beverages and worked at an extremely high rate and pace. Everyone was very impressed with how personable Mike and his staff were and has explicitly expressed how much they appreciated the service. I will definitely be looking to host future events here and this place has made the list for a weekly visit for coffee in the mornings as well!
