Highlights

We started GrandTen Distilling because we love spirits and, just like you, enjoy a nice drink at the end of the day. Our mission is to create distinctive products that will satisfy you, the growing number of savvy New England cocktail drinkers. We are inspired by new and interesting flavors, but also take pride in producing high quality classic spirits. Our flagship product, Wire Works American Gin, celebrates the history of the famous South Boston iron foundry that occupied the space where we now distill. All of our products are produced in very small batches and distilled in copper. Every step, from choosing the raw ingredients to bottling and labeling, is done by hand. We have created a space in our distillery to enjoy cocktails directly from the source. Whether classic or modern, we are pouring drinks that highlight our line of craft spirits from our still to your glass.

Great VIBES! Amazing music choices for the night. Joe and Pete have been absolutely amazing. Our first time in and it won’t be our last! A must go to spot if you’re ever in the area.

Google
This is a must do for every whisky fan. I've been here some times ago but great location, various very tasty whiskies in the bar and friendly staff. I really liked it !

Google
Would come here again and again. Excellent atmosphere and vibes. The cover music playlist was a hit with the party. Plenty of board games to play, shuffle board, foosball, vintage arade games, and amazing drinks. Our bill was charged incorrectly, but then was easily fixed once mentioned. The staff was super friendly and easy to talk with.

Ugh, love this place. Sad I hadn't visited sooner. We did the tour and apparently the tour guide had quit that day but the bartender (Nino) treated us so so well and gave us a great tour to boot. He knew his cocktails! I loved how he made his own shrub and mixers for the drinks, he truly has a knack for it. Not to mention the alcohol itself being top quality. It was a bit dead on a Sunday which was a shame since the place is good size and full of fun games and plenty of seating. Nice chill, upscale garage vibes. Would visit again for sureeeeee!

Google
Amazing! One of the best distilleries I've ever visited. Joe and Mike were top notch - knowledgeable, friendly, and just all around good guys. Great cocktail menu and cool atmosphere. I will be coming back every time I'm in Boston!

Google
Had a great holiday party at GrandTen! The atmosphere is excellent for a private event or just a group of friends. The cocktails were great and the bartenders are super friendly. Booking the event was a seamless process as Brendon is very responsive over email and helpful. Definitely will be back!

Google
We had a n excellent time learning about the distillery and the processes. Nino was a lot of fun, great atmosphere and great drinks.

Google
Bar tenders were extremely rude to everyone at our private party. There were multiple incidents of some of the worst service I’ve ever had. They were angry, petulant, rude, and made us feel unwelcome

Yelp
We wanted to try something different on a Friday evening. We RSVPed to their tour and tasting that was a relatively new concept, according to the employees. Once we were dropped off by our ride share company, it looked a little sketchy, but the entrance was in the back. There were a few people there, but come to find out, they were all there to participate in the tour and tasting. I didn't see but maybe 2-4 people who were there that weren't part of the experience. It has a really nice intimate dark feel. Good for date night or small group experience. We had sips of different spirits, I personally couldn't finish them all. Some because of taste that didn't mesh with my tastebuds, other reason was it's straight up liquor- I wasn't trying to get get wasted. It's a decent amount of liquor. Overall, it was something different and something to do while visiting friends in town. The staff was really nice and informative, overall, I probably won't do this again, as tasting liquor isn't really my thing, versus a wine tasting, but glad to have tried it nevertheless.

Yelp
Cute venue, loved all the games we could play. A little hard to find but once we were inside, awesome spot. Interesting menu- everything from milkshakes to samples of straight spirits. Bartender was nice but not great at helping us through the menu. The spirits I tried were nice and the gin cocktail I had was super great. I think I'd enjoy their distillery tour too

Yelp
We were staying near by and we decided to check this place out and try a few mixed drinks. I must say they all were delicious, They also have some small bites I liked the pretzel bites They have board games and it is just a cool vibe place to chill with friends. The service was friendly and fast and we even learned some new drinks.

Ellen R.

Yelp
We loved the tour, the tastings after, and the bar! It's such a fun place! Great prices, too, on all their liquor. They are at total wine store, but I'm going to ask my local liquor store to stock up on GrandTen cranberry liquor. So different and smooth!

Kiaralis A.

Yelp
We attended the NYE prohibition party. Everything was decorated so nicely and the music was great! Would absolutely love to attend another event there if possible. The prices were also great which in this economy is always a plus!

Yelp
When somewhere has hundreds of reviews and still manages to have a 5-star average rating, you know it's good. I've only gotten the bottled cocktails from Grand Ten for pickup during COVID, but man, are they amazing. Such a good value and they really pack a punch. They're delicious and deceptively strong. I would come back every week if I lived closer. Insta: @foodiesnapstagram

Yelp
In the last year, my wife and I have had our engagement party and our wedding after-party at GrandTen, and we couldn't have been happier with both events. Our guests had a fantastic time, and working with Brendon and the team to set the parties up could not have been easier. GrandTen has a perfect mix of speakeasy feel with enough space for folks to move around and mingle, with the option to play board games/video games/shuffleboard as well. Just a great place to hang out, and the variety of drinks available makes it worth a repeat visit, with every cocktail carefully designed. Whether you're bringing a party of 6 or 60, you're going to have a good time.

George B.

Yelp
Had a tour here and it was AWESOME. The head distiller is incredibly knowledgeable, the bartender is top notch, and the drinks really highlight the liquor GrandTen produces. A appreciated that they make lots of "odd" options, liquors that are not just simple whiskeys or brandies. Some are available only there so keep an eye out. I am a big fan of their botanical. The space itself has a lot of character as well. It features tabletop shuffleboard, lots board games, and a projector screen over the bar. Do not be surprised to see things like Bob Ross videos, toy truck safety videos, and video games projected up there. This is simply a really cool spot to hang out. Make sure you head over.

Yelp
Came to GrandTen Distilling for Trivia Night on Thursday at 7 with some friends. There wasn't too many other groups, but we still had a lot of fun, and I really liked the chill atmosphere. Colin was a great trivia master and was very fair with his rulings LOL. The bartenders were funny and friendly. Some of the drinks were great, others were not. My favorite was definitely the Bees Knees! Can't wait to come back for another trivia night!

Griffin K.

Yelp
Hosted our B-Day at GrandTen. Great space, great drinks, good vibes. The owners and bartenders went above and beyond. Everybody had an awesome time, highly recommend. Will be back.

Yelp
We went for the tour, and had cocktails after. I almost wish we hadn't done the tour, because without it the place would've been a cool garage spot to drink inventive cocktails and play games. The tour seemed like an afterthought for the distillery; something they needed to do because it's what's trendy right now. Our guide was not trained or skilled for explaining their operations but he tried! He didn't sell the place or the product well. However their merchandise was pretty and the drinks were tasty so I recommend the trek out there for that, just not the guided tour.

Leona C.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place when I first heard about it. Just looking in, it seemed like it would be a fun spot to hang out on a Saturday night. The night I finally tried GrandTen, there was a party of around 10-15 people taking up a specific section of the room and some of them had crowded around the bar. The bartenders gave no attention to me and continued to serve other people that came up to the bar after I did just because they were a part of the large party. It took nearly 10 minutes for them to just hand over a menu even though they saw me the minute I came up to the bar and told me "one minute". Despite the bad service from the bartenders, the drinks were really delicious and pretty strong. The drinks were really creative as well. I do wish that they had a wider selection of snacks/appetizers but considering it is a distillery, the selection that they have is understandable.

Cristina R.

Yelp
GrandTen isn't going to be on your way anywhere, but it's worth the detour! This hip space is the kind of place that you'll want to hang out at for hours on end, sampling the spirits and testing the spirit of competition with a variety of board games, shuffleboard, and video games. The only limiting factor to this day-long drink-fest is that the cocktails are a bit pricey. I ordered a Tiki Torch cocktail, which was tropical juice-like delicious and I drank way too quickly. Afterward, we ordered The Greatest Hits Flight, which provided 4 tastes of different spirits. I especially enjoyed trying the cranberry liqueur! The flights are a good value for the amount of alc. We also got treated to a tour of the distillery! When our crew of 10-15 first arrived on Saturday afternoon, the bartender told us she wasn't sure if a tour would happen since they were understaffed. But about an hour later, she led one, it it was great! Our bartender guide was energetic and informative. Although it was hot back there and longer than expected, I definitely think a tour is worth it, so you can feel more connected to what you're drinking and appreciate the process and local nature of the distillery. HIGH TEN, GrandTen! You rock!!

Yelp
I discovered GrandTen a couple years ago after they hosted a concert for Sofar Sounds. It's a great location--open layout with natural separation of space. You have the bar, the high tables, the picnic tables, the game area, and finally the lounge area that also has shuffleboard. This all in a relatively compact space. Yet, it doesn't feel bunched. We decided to go back for a drink on a Friday night. As other folks have said, it's not the easiest place to find. I think they could benefit from additional signage on the sidewalk with an arrow. Furthering the difficulty, the glass on the front door seems to be extra dark, making it hard to notice that the lights are on inside and they are, in fact, open. Also, be careful as you walk in. There's a lip on the ground by the foosball table that even though it's well-marked, it is still easy to stumble on. We were somewhat surprise to find it nearly empty. That being said, it's the kind of place that feels as comfortable when it's empty as it does when it is more lively. It had a garage-meet-living room vibe. It worked. I tried a flight of four of their spirits-- the Angelica botanical, Fire Puncher Vodka, South Boston Irish Whiskey, and the Wire Works Gin. All were unique and interesting And for $9, a great deal. The Fire Puncher Vodka, distilled with locally grown chipotle peppers, does indeed feel like a fire punch to the throat--a not unwelcome experience on a frosty winter night. I'm still somewhat surprised that 'local distillery' is a category these days. But in a world where each neighborhood is now getting a brewery, it is nice to have the option of a thoughtful cocktail in a similarly casual non-stuffy environment.

Manette S.

Yelp
These guys are the best!!! I tried the whole shebang so I was able to taste everything they make and trying to decide what I was going to purchase was difficult because I wanted so much of it. I cannot wait to visit again!!!

Abigail M.

Yelp
Checked the place out at recommendation of a friend- cool funky atmosphere and great spirits. Tried some new concoctions and bought a few T-shirt's- will be back. Definitely a neighborhood vibe; approachable for folks looking to try new things!

Sean H.

Yelp
Drinks were pretty good. I was here for a grad party, apparently 1 party member had 2 nips from outside the distillery. Dick move? For sure. But as I and the rest of the patrons were ordered VERY rudely by one of the proprietors to ' put your drinks down and leave immediately, we want you guys out of here NOW" I was shocked, since I had spent at least 80$ on drinks and i know the rest of party had spent plenty as well, to lose your cool over a few nips of outside alcohol seems excessive and unprofessional. I will definitely not be returning, you must be doing really well to toss a whole party out over $5 worth of nips

Yelp
GrandTen was my first distillery experience, so I wasn't too sure what to expect, but all the staff made it memorable (in a good way!) The bar area is a solid space for smaller groups, with games available if you want to hang out or if you're waiting for a tour. The drinks we tried were all good, I definitely recommend getting a flight - they make such a variety of spirits that you should sample as many as possible! The tour was good as well. Our guide was very informative and upbeat - it gets very warm in that area so it's not hard to be lulled to sleep, but she kept everyone engaged with questions and fun facts. The food selection isn't really a selection, but if you want a quick snack in between drinks they have some nuts and meat/cheese plates available. We tried the meat and cheese plate and it was enough to split between three people as a late afternoon pick me up. The only real issue I had was its location. There are a few signs, but we ended up passing them on the opposite side so when we turned and came from the other way the directions were more prevalent. A small issue, but this location could definitely be difficult to find once the sun goes down. Overall, GrandTen was a good experience and I would definitely stop by again. The place isn't huge and there's not a whole lot to do, but it's a fun pit stop on a bar crawl or to bring visiting friends/family members before dinner.

Yelp
Excited to check this place out (and check it off my list) and so glad we finally did. Not the easiest place to find, but look for Seaport tattoo and you know that you are close (across the street from the distillery). When we walked in we didn't know what to expect, but once we looked around and noticed all the games they had, we knew this would be the place to be on any given day/night. They have some interesting cocktails and flights as well as some bar snacks (nuts, olives, cheese and meat board). We basically had the whole place to ourselves, it wasn't crowded at all. We wanted to try their flight so we aimed for tasting all 12 of their spirits that they make in house. We also had the chance to try a special collaboration from trillium brewing, an Oak and Chestnut Whiskey...can I get an Amen!! OMG, it was out of this world as well as their Fire Puncher Black which I ended up ordering neat after our flight, it was that good I had to have it twice. I can't wait to go back and check out some of their specialty cocktails and play some games. This place would be so much fun with a group of friends.

Yelp
Came here for the first time a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised by this distillery. They had a special drink that day called the It's Always Sunny in Southie -- mildly fruity with hints of pineapple with their house whiskey and it was seriously one of the best drinks I've EVER had. All my friends, including all the guys, LOVED the drink and we couldn't help to go back for more. The atmosphere here is chill, with shuffle board in the back, a few park-bench esque areas of seating, and some old school video games. The overall location is a little in the middle of nowhere but I would definitely recommend coming here to try some of their drinks and hang out with a group of friends! There is no food here just FYI so if you get the munchies you gotta go elsewhere for some grub.

Stephanie Q.

Yelp
I have a confession to make. I've never been to South Boston. But I decided to come here because I had to check out this fantastic distillery. You can take the red line to Andrew and walk for 7 min. This place is kinda hidden but with Google Maps, you will definitely be able to find it. They offer free tours here. FREE! But if you want to try a shot of liquor, you have to pay $1 at the bar. Surely you have $1 to spare. If you get there early, there is a bar as well as boardgames, fooseball etc. This is a great place for large groups! We had a drink at the bar- I tried bee's knees. Typically I hate gin, thanks Bombay Sapphire for ruining it for me. I hate the strong, juniper taste! Thankfully, the gin made here does not have that strong overpowering taste. The bartender explained that American gin was made differently and told me to try the bee's knees. If I hated it, he would make me another drink. Well, I loved it! I regret not buying a bottle... There was also a TV where they played Indiana Jones. Then we went for the tour. The tour lasted almost an hour. Our tour guide was hilarious too. The distillery isn't huge, but they do make lots of things- whiskey, vodka, gin etc. They make their own spicy vodka called the Fire Puncher, you might want to try that. There is also a cranberry liquor that is delicious! I hate cranberry juice (the old cheap vodka and cranberry juice days caused me to develop a dislike for cranberry juice) but this liquor is much better. You can try it in their cocktails. They also serve snacks such as ham and cheese, nuts etc. Overall, a really fun place to visit. Totally worth the trek!

Yelp
Holy hidden gem! I don't think I had ever been in this part of Boston before (there didn't seem to be much else around this place other than some old warehouses...), but GrandTen Distillery was 100% worth the slight trek that it took to get here. The main draw to this place is definitely the fantastic spirits & cocktail selection - I am a lover of gin drinks, and found both the Tamsyn Collins and the Tomas Rides Again to be exceptional. If you're strong enough to handle some straight-up spirits, the spirit flights are totally where it's at - $6-7 to try a flight of three. The staff was friendly and super knowledgeable. Our party of ~15 or so may have been a bit overwhelming, but they handled everything grandly. When we first got in, we asked about doing a tour - they were unsure at first if they'd be able to (due to the limited bar coverage at the time), but about an hour or so in, an additional bartender arrived so they were able to move forward with the tour - I'm glad it worked out, since the tour was a big part of why we came over! The tour itself was very informative (it was a little long and a bit hot in there, but I'm still glad I did it!). As the cherry on top of this awesome establishment, they have board games + shuffleboard + video games + movies being projected onto the wall. Okay, I suppose that's more like *four* cherries on top. What this all boils down to though is that there's plenty to keep you entertained here beyond the delicious booze (but, in case I forgot to mention it before... that booze is really darn good).

Alejandra R.

Yelp
the drinks were not bad (i would recommend the bees knee's because it tastes like an adult arnold palmer) but i think i would come back because the host of trivia night was a cutie. his name is collin. he was a great trivia master. very fair. which aligns with my moral compass.

Heather F.

Yelp
My husband and I went for the Friday Night Flights. We had a cocktail at the bar before our tasting started, Medford Old Fashioned and Rockne Ave (see pic). Both excellent and we loved the large cube of ice. We learned a lot about the distilling process while tasting exceptional spirits. I am not a gin person, but I would have to say the Wire Works gin is as smooth as it gets. The bar area is reminiscent of a clubhouse with a throwback movie playing above the bar, board games and comfy seating. This place has a fun atmosphere and is a hidden gem of Southie.

Guli K.

Yelp
Such a great spot to hang out with friends! They have all sorts of games including shuffleboard. You can also bring in your own food. Drinks are AMAZING! They really take a lot of pride in what is being served. Been here a few times and both the cocktails as well as the whiskey have all been good. You can also purchase whiskey to go and it was reasonably priced.

Yelp
So let me tell you a brief story about how two awesome guys, Spencer and Matt, after a long year of trying to get permits and getting setup, have created what could very well be some of the best spirits that I've ever had. This my friends is the story of GrandTen Distilling, a local distillery that has taken over a space which was previously used to make wires. But that was a long time ago and it is now the home of WIre Works gin and Fire Puncher vodka (and eventually also Medford Rum). I've been lucky enough to get to know these guys well and have been at the distillery a few times, to hang out and also to sample some of their stuff that's in the works. Spencer, having a background in chemistry, is quite attentive to his new craft and definitely knows his stuff. Paired with his cousin Matt, they are able to not only craft their spirits, but perfect them through lots of trial and error. For example, for their rum, they test-fermented all kinds of different molasses in order to find the best one. As of right now, the space is limited to the production station and each bottle in meticulously bottled by hand. It's labor intensive but well worth the efforts; being a huge gin fan, theirs is superior to any other, whether it's Bulldog or Hendrinks, or any other. It's far more complex, a lot smoother and way more aromatic. It must be the nine botanicals that went into it. Their Fire Puncher vodka is very unique and is about to be released and is a very smooth vodka that packs a punch of 'heat and smoke'. Unique and oh so tasty. Furthermore, their Medford Rum is also in the works and is currently aging in barrels for another year when it should be ready to be bottled. Oh and did I mention that they are also working on side projects including a very tasty almond liqueur which is still being perfected? Having tasted it, I can only say one thing: I cannot wait to buy it and stock it on my shelves at home. Some good news, while they are currently in a soft-opening period, they are currently building a tasting room which will also be a storefront for their products and it should all be ready in August. You should, once that opens, make your way there. It is well worth it and will be a memorable experience but in the interim you can find their Wire Works gin at various liquor stores in the Boston area (the distributors are on their website) and a lot more stores will be stocking it shortly as they just signed an agreement with a big distributor. Fire Puncher's on the verge of being released as well and is in the final production and botting stages so stay tuned for that one as well. But if you want to sample it before trying it, quite a few bars carry GrandTen's gin including Backbar, Deep Ellum, Eastern Standard and quite a few others. Do it, you'll thank me later.

Darth R.

Yelp
This is a best-kept secret in Boston, and it's bound to get out sooner rather than later. Great staff that are super enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Steve puts a tremendous amount of effort and focus into the craft which includes making a lot of the ingredients (e.g. curacao isn't actually blue), and is happy to share the history behind everything. Mallory is very welcoming and great with events. Lots of games available (e.g. board games, video games, foosball, shuffleboard, shuffleboard-bowling-hybrid), and an easy place to catch up with friends. They sell bottles that you can take home -- keep an eye out for seasonal or opportunistic specialties here including Trillium-derived cordials, Applejack, and others. They have small bites bar food (Q's nuts, crackers and cheese) and occasionally have food trucks outside. They also have seasonal events (e.g. craft fairs during the holiday season) which you can find out about from Instagram and Facebook. Best Hot Toddy in Boston, and Mai Tai's are great. How 'Bout a Fresca is bomb, made better when The Drak Crystal is playing on the projector.

Hannah S.

Yelp
This is well overdue! My friends and I did a private tour about a month ago and it was easily the most enjoyable experience of our Northeast vacation. It was a genuine honor to explore such a raw and unique distillery. This is AMERICA! The very definition of it. Our host was incredibly friendly and informative, spilling the back story, the struggles, and the growth of this Boston Gem. After a brilliant tour and generous tasting, we bought a couple bottles and left our best wishes. I would HIGHLY suggest this inexpensive, insightful tour for any local, visitor, small business owner, entrepreneur, and spirit lover.

Yelp
GrandTen is the perfect destination for a rainy Saturday afternoon or a relaxing night with friends or your significant other. Whether whiskey, rum or gin is your drink of choice, GrandTen will have a cocktail for you. Their menu features a variety of tastes and has many classic cocktails with their own little change. I'm a fan of their Old Fashioned. Even if you can't stand liquor, they can probably come up with something you won't hate. Beyond the drinks, it is a fun atmosphere. The location is off the street so when your Uber/Lyft pulls up and you don't see it, don't worry. Inside it has a bar area with a few tables and then another tabled area some old school games like shuffleboard. In summation, GrandTen is a quality time. It's become a place we take out-of-towners , and where we go when we want to be social but not too crazy. Highly recommend.

Katie R.

Yelp
Stopped in here after a day of Dorchester fun which included Dorchester brewing and cafe palonia. Love the vibe in this place. The bartender was super friendly and helped us pick out the right drink for our tastes. we played a frustrating game of trouble while we drank our fancy cocktails with the crazy boozes the make on sight. All of the alcohol the serve onsite is their own witch really makes for some very unique combinations. Give it a try for sure!

Damien S.

Yelp
Find the place. It's tucked away from Dorchester Ave, but follow the signs to Peter Luger's Gym and you'll see it. Maybe. Go in the place. A single, nondescript door opens in to a world of some damn fine gins, vodkas and liqueurs. Side note: liqueur is the worst word in the world to type. Marvel at the place. Much bigger than you expected? Yeah, I've heard that before. About GrandTen's tasting room. Wait, what were we talking about? Explore the place. Matt, Lonnie, Spencer - they'd all be happy to give the scoop on how they're shit gets done, from concept to procurement of local botanicals to the science behind their nameless copper beacon of a still (c'mon guys, seriously? We name our cars, for Pete's sake!) to the origins of the product moniker to labeling-by-hand. All questions answered; no stone unturned. Drink the place dry. The full bar set up, and with Lonnie's mixological expertise at the helm, they can easily allow your tasting of Wire Works Gin (hate gin? You'll still love this. Cross my heart), Firepuncher Vodka and a bevy of pleasantly herbal liqueurs - from the nutty, toasted Amandine to a mildly tart Craneberry - to merge into a soiree of brilliantly bespoke proportions. Get out of the place. Just don't forget your modestly priced bottle or case. Seriously, be prepared to haul a haul.

Yelp
Another great alcohol tour spot in Boston! I first became acquainted with GTD during the Spirits tasting as Pemberton's last weekend -- of all the spirits I tried (and trust me, there were many), GTD's Fire Punch Vodka was my favorite. Their Wire Works Gin was also quite good -- much more complex than a standard gin. They also had three different liqueurs to try -- all were okay, but too sweet for my taste. Drop-in tours are available from noon to 4p on Saturdays, but tours can also be arranged on other days/times. We stopped in just after 3p this Saturday and waited less than 10 minutes for another tour to begin. The tour lasted 30-40 minutes including the tasting of all their products. Other notes: -Spencer and Matt (cousins) are the only employees. -If you're looking at their front door on the street, go to the alley on the right for the entrance. -Free tour and tastings.

sonia t.

Yelp
Truly a diamond in the rough; the stone and spice is the perfect balance of spicy ginger and strong gin; the twist on the old fashioned is well balanced with rum adding a sweeter finish than whiskey would. This place is fantastic and I'm glad I made it here before it's too popular. Will definitely be back!

Kelly O.

Yelp
It goes without saying that their spirits are still awesome, but they just opened an actual cocktail bar in the distilling space, and they're slinging some pretty great drinks worth checking out... try the one with their whiskey and Lapsang tea, it's smoky and delicious. The bartender was telling us that he can't wait to be involved in the entire process from pre-distilling to your resulting cocktail, which is a pretty unique set-up around here and definitely worth investing in. Add in the really friendly staff and a shuffleboard table, and you're looking at a solid place to meet friends for a few stiff drinks.

Yelp
Hidden treasure!!! Walked in around 2:30 with my mother and her boyfriend, who is a man of fine tastes and sharp opinions (his standard drink is 12 year Macallan), for his birthday. We waited 10 minutes before another group of folks rolled in. Despite this, the man who welcomed us when we walked in and was doing a tasting for a group of 6-8 people extricated himself and offered us a private tour. The tour was brief, but the guide, one of two employees, was knowledgeable and friendly. During the tasting he even allowed us to sample the rum that won't be released for a few more weeks. Every item we sampled was phenomenal. I have never had straight gin and enjoyed it until GTD's Wire Works. We were all impressed and ended up walking out with five different bottles. I highly recommend this tour and you should be on the lookout for GTD products at bars and restaurants.

Yelp
Excellent bartenders with delicious drinks and good stories. Loved the spicy drinks too - something different! We enjoyed stopping here.

Yelp
Amazing Gem in South Boston! You could spend an entire evening here. It was a little hard to find, but we found it with Google Maps. That's my only negative, seriously. We did the Friday night flight/tour event and had a blast. The bartender who hosted our tasting and tour was super personal, funny and entertaining. We tasted 8 liquors, it was about the same amount of alcohol as one bar drink in total, plus they provided chips and plenty of water. After our event we sat at the bar and had a couple more cocktails :). They have board games, shuffle board, foosball, movies and music playing. They have some bar snacks available to purchase as well. Both bar tenders were fun and knowledgeable. I had them make me a Manhattan with the Fire Puncher Black and it was absolutely delicious! We took home a bottle of the Fire Puncher Black and the Irish Whisky.

Yelp
Went here this past weekend. It was really unexpectedly awesome, though a little hard to find. The entrance to the bar is down the driveway a little, on the left. Once you get close you can hear music and people. When you walk in there is a coat rack, which was much appreciated. My boyfriend ordered me a hot tottie, which was delicious. When I went up to make my own choice of a whiskey drink, I got it wrong. I.e. I got something I didn't actually like. The bartender and I had a good rapport, so I went up and asked if he could change it a little for me. He made me an entirely new drink and was a great sport about wanting me to like my drink. He took my other drink back, no problem. That was really nice and I appreciated the ambiance he created. There were board games everywhere for a board game Sunday they were having. Lighting was dim but still lit well. One tv by the bar where they had the first mighty ducks on, randomly. And the whiskey drinks were really good. There is some picnic and high table seating, otherwise people were standing. And there are some small bites to eat to complement your drinks. I would definitely go back to this spot. Note: Your uber or lyft driver may be confused where to get you from, but there are signs, so they will end up in the area. The bar entrance is just not noticeable from the street.

Yelp
Best place to sample cocktails and liquor in the city! I have been to grandten 3 times now, and every time has blown away my expectations! The staff are always so friendly, and they will give you a tour of their facility if you ask. They also make some of the most fantastic, unique cocktails! This place is my go to now for when I have friends or family from out of town visiting. I highly recommend doing a tasting of their large array of liquor. And make sure you take a bottle to go!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for Friday Night Flights last month. The event was small - capped at only 10 people - which made the night intimate and super interactive. We tried 8 spirits, which were measured, but they allowed us to refill for additional samples if we liked them! Every liquor we tasted was delicious, the history and "tour" (standing in the middle of the single room with all of the equipment) was brief and entertaining. The staff is small, and you can tell that they all have so much love and passion for the spirits they create. My favorites that we tasted were their contemporary gin (they taste like whiskey!) and chipotle vodka. We did not stay long after, but we plan to go back to play some shuffleboard and sip on some of their delicious cocktails! FYI - the distillery is in a pretty quiet industrial spot in South Boston - I don't recommend walking there at night if you're not familiar with the area.

Yelp
How can a great place get better?? GrandTen now has a bar! You can drink their spirits straight from the source. The head of the bar program (Steve) explained to us that they were only allowed to sell alcoholic products that are produced on site. So they have a sweet vermouth they have crafted, and are working on some others (he mentioned campari and shrubs). I can't wait to see how this evolves. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Wow, what an awesome way to spend a Friday evening! We had an absolutely fantastic time and tasted some wonderful new spins on classic liquors. Between the causal and intimate setting, the knowledge and humor of Lonnie and Wes, and the fabulous drinks, I loved it. Much, much recommended. And when they get their cocktail bar open this spring? I will be back ASAP!!

Yelp
BEWARE: the drinks are strong and very delicious. It seems like a sketchy spot from the outside but it really isn't, just head in and chat it up with the very friendly bartenders, stare entranced at a screening of something delightfully weird like Nosferatu, buy a fun tee shirt that reads "I drink gin," or play their menu of board games! A definite favorite for catching up with a few friends and just kicking back.

Yelp
Was part of a 30th birthday party. The place is clean good lighting and the staff...steve....was excellent. Had a Medford old fashion. Not a big fan of old fashions. Gin is very good. They allow outside food....very nice place to hang out for a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
I don't write Yelp reviews often, but GrandTen is really great, worth the exception. Everyone is really nice and knowledgable about spirits. They answer any question, including "newbie" ones, with a smile and an enthusiastic explanation. Their spirits are excellent. They have a really diverse selection, too, so you can try different things and you're guaranteed to find something you like. Their $20 "Friday night flights" are a great experience.

Yelp
The drinks are strong and delicious. They have foosball, shuffleboard, and and a nintendo with all the original games! The bartenders are also the owners it seems, and very proud of the hard work they put into making everything. They make everything that's alcoholic - all the different whiskeys, vodka, gin, vermouth, grand elder, everything. Could not be better!

Yelp
GTD is a new small craft distiller already earning awards for their fine products. Spencer was kind enough to give our tour and an extensive description of the distilling process and equipment. He thoroughly described the ingredients of each liquor, and the thought that went into each beverage, as well as potential cocktails and pairings. He also patiently answered all of our nerdy questions. We sampled the Wire Works Gin (phenomenal and smooth), as well as the Fire Puncher Vodka, almond and angelica liqueurs, and the surprisingly complex and delicious Craneberry liqueur- all for sale at the distillery, and at nearby Social Wines. Getting to GTD is easy, as it's a short walk from the Broadway T stop, and the 'tour' times are quite flexible. GTD also hosts special events. This is a wonderful local small business, and would be a great place to stop by after a nearby brunch, or if you're shopping for the perfect hostess gift for a friend in Southie.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the distillery tour here as well as our time at the bar. The bar staff and our tour guide were very knowledgeable about all of the liquors they served as well as what was currently being made in house. Our tour guide was fun and answered plenty of questions for our small group on the tour and we got really up close to a lot of the tanks and barrels they use in the process of making their liquors. We also tried the tasting flight afterwards--you definitely want a few friends to help you out there, but our guide gave us her personal favorite way to move through the flight which we appreciated. It's a bit off the beaten path in Southie, but definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
A nice hidden gem in South Boston. Went for Friday Night Flights. Got to taste some great spirits and was much entertained by our host. Plus they have a bar and a game room. If I lived in the neighborhood I would be a regular for sure.

Yelp
Great place! Bar staff is phenomenal! So much knowledge about their spirits and ways to work with them while making home cocktails. Play some shuffle pool and grab a "Weekend at Ernie's"! Don't forget to buy a bottle or two before you call it a night... or if you want to keep your night going.
