For the last brewery on this North Shore, Massachusetts trip I found myself at Granite Coast Brewing Company in Peabody for a couple pints & some tasters. This is a New England brewery that doesn't focus much on IPA's, which is rare, but definitely a pleasant surprise in a world filled with haze. I had tried a handful of their beers in the wild in can & on draft before this visit so I had a idea of what to expect, but there is obviously nothing better than getting it from the tit. The brewery started as a hobby in 2012 between friends Rob & Jeff, who spent years developing their recipes before opening the taproom in Peabody, MA in 2019. There are some fun traditional styles here including a German Steam beer, Helles, Scotch Ale/Wee, Kolsch, Belgian tripel & more. 🍻🍻🔥☘
I started off with a pint of the GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: MUNICH HELLES LAGER, it was a excellent lager filled with a good mix of malt & bready flavor. My second pour was a 13oz pour of the FABLES SERIES: DOUBLE MIMI NEW ENGLAND IPA, a good above average hazy double for sure. My third beer was a taster of the BELGIAN TRIPEL which was a delicious solid Belgian that was super drinkable for the 8.3%ABV. My last pour was a taster of the PEANUT BUTTER STOUT, this was a awesome peanut butter stout that I would have loved to get a full pour of had I known how good it was. 🍺🏆🔥☘🍻
All the seating options here including plenty of tables, a few hightops & some bar seating. They had a small food menu that consisted mostly of local candy, but at 42 years old the beer has enough sugar for me as is. There was plenty of beer to go for home or tastings with friends later. Overall a excellent visit & a great cap to a three brewery North Shore, MA trip that included Coastal Mass Brewing & Old Planters Brewing Co as well. Cheers! 🍻🔥☘🏆✌♥️🍺
