Called the Original Home of Southern Rock, Grant’s hosts the weekly Macon Music Revue and a steady slate of regional acts. Spotlighted by Southern Living and the Georgia Music Foundation, it’s where the story still gets written live on stage.

Sometimes there's a fee to enter and sometimes it's free. The lady that cooks really be cooking food good in southern old school style. The drinks are always strong the place is clean. The restroom is always clean. they have great bands and performers. There's a lot of history in the building and pictures. Definitely a Macon staple in history. Would definitely recommend and return.

Really fun time with friends! Music was great and vibes were good. There was a cover for the live band but besides that, it was pretty cool.

I love coming here for a show on the weekends and free bingo on Thursday nights! I dream about the French fries from here.

Drove from Alabama to Macon GA just to see a fave band, Anthony Rosano and the Conqueroos, play at the Historic Grant’s Lounge where The Allman Brothers and others started out. There is a wall of photos to take in. Sweet cook serving up sandwiches and great fries. Bartender friendly and attentive. Cool atmosphere and great stage! And the show was 🔥! Next day I went to Allman Brothers Big House Museum which I also recommend. I’m not close enough to frequent Grant’s Lounge, but I will definitely be back for my favorite bands! If you are local, support this historical venue!

I don't think this is a restaurant. It is a bar with a, ery friendly atmosphere. I love to go to the Storytelling nights. There are many repeat customers. People know each other and welcome newcomers. It is a very friendly place. I recommend it.

Went to see Corb Lund. Awesome bar for an up close and personal concert. Just wish some of the professional drunks would stay at home. We were there last year for Jason Boland and a brawl broke out and this time an older guy kept trying to grab Corb between songs and when the set was over some woman jumped on stage and tried to follow him backstage. The guitar player had to yell at her to get off stage. Need more bouncers! Other than that..... awesome place!

Yelp
An authentic venue in Macon, Georgia with a storied history. I drove from Augusta to catch a blues band (Danielle Nicole) and can't imagine a better scene than this. Folks in the crowd had traveled from all over,Georgia. Seems that this place deserves an official brass Historic Marker on a signpost on the street outside.

Yelp
Love this place! Go for the history, stay for the music! Of course, it's best to go in the evenings, and you never know what -nor whom- to expect! I went last Friday (Macon celebrates every first Friday of the month) and heard a local band, BAS! With 2 drummers and little Eddie Van Halen, Jr. -well he sounded that way to me- had an excellent time! Fully endorse this small intimate venue!

Yelp
Grant's Lounge is an iconic part of the Macon, Georgia music scene and I believe has been around for about fifty years. In that approximate half of a century so many bands have graced the establishment and the crowd with music, including bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (then known as Mudcrutch), Boz Scaggs and the Allman Brothers Band. With such amazing performers having graced this establishment, I guess they earn their self-appointed title of "the home of southern rock." This is by no means a fancy place, in fact, the words "dive bar" might come to mind when seeing this place, but I love dive bars. Dive bars have tons of character (usually enhanced by the characters that hang out in those dive bars) and is a real glimpse of the past and present of a community. The walls of Grant's Lounge tell that history, the pictures show the storied past and the greats who graced that stage. We often hear the phrase "if these walls could talk," boy, does it truly apply here. Grant's Lounge is a place you must visit if you are in Macon, Georgia (I also recommend a stop at Nu-Way Weiners, a hot dog chain that started over one hundred years ago). Spots like Grant's Lounge and Nu-Way Weiners are the real history of Macon, Georgia. This is the real Macon, Georgia, the soul of this southern city. These are the businesses that are the day to day existence of Macon, not just a defining moment for a history book. If you are in Macon, Georgia, you must check out Grant's Lounge (and get a hot dog and/or a burger from Nu-Way). Only than will you have truly visited Macon, Georgia and stood within its soul.

Yelp
Cool place. If you're uptight and fancy don't go here it's not for you. Live music is usually good. Place is close to being a dive bar, but it's got tons of character and history. You have to at least be able to say you've been there.

Yelp
If you want history and lots of it, there is no other place to go. Grant's is a special place that I adore when I hit Macon. Edward is one great guy and even comes to Atlanta to catch some blues and promote Grant's with me. This place is teaming with the words "if these walls could speak". So many amazing acts have played there and even gotten their starts there like the Allmans, Lynyrd Skynyrd and more. It's legendary! If you are looking for a restaurant, or some fancy joint this isnt for you. Grant's holds true to the original design, and all the history on the walls tell it. Among the hundreds of pictures from the old days you can find some amazing signatures on the walls...including mine..hehe...thanks Ed. But really, the music flowing out of this place still is amazing, The Lee Boys, Tommy Talton, Chuck Leavell, and the list goes on. The Allman family love the place and I have been down for several Allman after parties and fundraisers. If you make a trip to Macon, you have to go see Ed...he may just hop on stage and play keys for you.

Yelp
Grants has history. Want to hear live music or hip hop - this is the place to go. Our bartender was super friendly and told us the great story about this historic place. The bathrooms are small, its dark, its smokey. You have to hope this place never goes away because patrons who like to support local and live music, as well has historic places that have stories about the history of rock and roll.

Yelp
I thought this had been closed down. There was a story or two about it in the paper and the view of the entrance. What sticks in my mind is the AC unit that was sticking through a hole that was cut in the wall. Long history and not all pleasant. Not sure I would want to risk visiting this bar--if it's still open--after that wings bar with the shootings and killings. Horrible affair, gang oriented, several people injured and killed. Not sure, again if they're still open, what they're doing to prevent a similar type gang event. Given the history and recent events at that one other place in town, all bets are off on safety. They would have to prove above and beyond before I'd even consider driving past this place after 7 p.m.

Yelp
Grants is old as hell my grandmother whom is 78 years old use to club at this place, Its filled with all the same odors from back then, When and if you go you will see ghosts of the seventies that will haunt you and make you return to twerk to the hottest music out right now just a warning. This place is a favorite of many of the locals due to its edgy and urban appeal, you will also find local artist whom are up and coming performing and what not. The building itself hasn't had any upgrades its a very small location and very dark they have pool table for one to enjoy and hideous walls for everyone to be a star on.

Yelp
I Will Start by singing praise to the Southern Rock memorabilia and Wall of Fame at this Location. However, My experience with the Staff was Horrendous. The Manager Ricardo Was a Rude and miserable Chap. The bathrooms were not clean and the Music that was playing in the Home of Southern Rock was limited to Jimmy Buffet the entire night. Two Thumbs Way Down.
