I cannot believe I have lived in the city all of these years and never been here. This is a very nice and cozy tavern on the H Street Corridor in Northeast, DC. The food was amazing and the beer was out of this world delicious. Everything we had from the Belgian Meatballs to the stuffed Salmon and pasta was well prepared and mouth-watering good. The staff here are the real champions. They have the one of most pleasant dispositions of all the restaurant staff in the whole DMV. I will be back.

Great bar with exceptional food service and staff. All the Mussel are delicious I suggest go on a Monday and try them on special. Bartenders and barbacks are extremely friendly and warm...

You cannot beat Granville Moore's for mussels, fries and Belgian beer. And the pub atmosphere and fun service tips it off. I just went back last night with my son and grandson. The entrées they had, other than the mussels, were amazing. Also the hamburger is one of the best you can find anywhere.

This quaint little bar is 5 stars all the way . Mussels are the name of the game. Chowder and Thai style are the must orders. Double cooked fries are super crispy. The wings are Smokey and just a little spicy. Incredible beer list. Date night or friends and family night , great spot. Can't wait to be back.

Cannot recommend Granville Moore's more!! I've been a patron for years and their food and beer selection is top notch. Their beer dinners (esp. the Christmas one) are fantastic too!

Salmon with frites and a beer, was an excellent combo. Friendly staff, bartender, chef who all came out and said hi. Great vibe with music that slaps. Sat next to a French couple, so you know they know what's up with good Belgium food.

This is that rare spot that looks and feels like a hole-in-the-wall but has top-tier food. My wife and I came here for dinner before catching a show at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. The place was a bit tricky to find, but it was exactly what we were after: great food, well-groomed beer selection, and good atmosphere. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crab cakes were meaty, and the portions were generous. I didn't try the mussels, but I wish I had. I recommend making reservations if you want to sit at a table; most of the space is reserved for the downstairs and upstairs bars, both of which were filling up by 6:30pm.

Quick stop for drinks as we waited on a table at Toki and surely glad we had the time! The Granville interior and atmosphere was exceptional with the old wooden European vibe and stickers all over the bars fridges. Only had time for a single drink but wouldn’t mind winding up here for a few more.

Granville Moore's is a DC institution that I've been going to on and off since about 2011. They are one of the best places in DC to get Belgian beer, mussels, and frites. On my recent visit, I shared two mussels ($26 each) and one frites ($10) among three people. This was enough food, especially with the bread they include for the mussel broth (we got three baskets). We had a couple beers to go along with it. We had the Champignons mussels with crimini, oyster, shitake & button mushrooms in white wine cream sauce plus the Bouillabaisse mussels with seafood, saffron, garlic, tomato. I usually get the classic Mariniere (white wine, garlic, herbs). Both types were good. The bouillabaisse reminded me of the Mariniere in terms of broth flavor. I didn't get any tomato. It came with some shrimp and white fish pieces. The champignons came with a cream sauce that wasn't too thick. It was also good but I wish I had a bit stronger flavor. One of the downsides of mussels as a food is that they are served in broth, yet the broth doesn't really stick to them. Bread is necessary to mop up the sauce. The fries were excellent: thin, extra crispy, perfectly salted. They come with dipping sauces but I didn't need them. Our beers were all good as expected. We had a few from the happy hour menu. GM offers a good happy hour with food discounts but I wish they offered a slightly better beer happy hour. The beers with the better discount ($5 or $7 each) are are canned, not much to my liking, and don't really represent their Belgian beer menu. A few other beers on draft are discounted only $1 which makes them steep at $12-$14 each. When I visited, they were out of a couple, further reducing the selection. Service was friendly if a bit slow, because one bartender was serving all the tables and manning the bar on the first floor. I love GM's decor -- a really old school, wood and brick spot. It's unique in DC. I would recommend it on the decor alone.

Wow wow wow! So glad my sis took me here, because this was my first time having moules-frites (mussels and french fries). I've always liked mussels, but Granville Moore just brought it to a whole 'nother level. There's a reason why their mussels have won so many awards over the years. Apparently, they also have quite the Belgium and craft beer selection. We had the mariniere (white wine, garlic, herbs) and the bleu (blue cheese, pork belly, red onions, spinach, white wine, lemon) and they were absolutely delicious! The fried Brussel sprouts were amazing. I don't want to know how much oil was used, but the texture was fried to crisp perfection. Now you may be wondering where the name of this unassuming tavern on H street comes from. The restaurant is named in honor of the physician who practiced in the very same building and provided pro bono medical care to the community. If I lived in the area, I would be here every Monday for their $12 mussels specials or their killer happy hour (Wednesday-Monday 5-7PM). What a local gem! Definitely stopping by here again next time I'm in town.

I stumbled upon this adorable restaurant/bar as an escape from the rain after a disappointing ramen meal. I was still hungry and was excited to find a Belgian restaurant, as there aren't any in the city where I live. I'm so glad I found Granville Moore's and I will definitely be back! I ordered the mussels mariniere and they were fantastic!! Incredibly flavorful, cooked perfectly, and served with delicious fresh bread to mop up the buttery garlic heaven left over in the bowl. The beer selection was extensive, but I didn't dive in during this visit. Service was quick and very friendly. The building itself has a tremendous amount of history, although I'm not sure what the story is as the historic sign was outside and it was raining when I visited. It was beautiful and created a unique atmosphere for a fun night out. I will definitely be back!

Granville Moore's is a hidden gem (?) in the H Street Corridor, with amazing drinks, food and ambiance. I'm not sure if it's a hidden gem, but nobody I knew really talked about it much. This place deserves way more praise!! The Belgian beers are delicious as always, and the menu is extensive. Reminds me a lot of Monk's Cafe in Philly, which is also fantastic. Service here is really fast and friendly! The bartenders work super hard as do the kitchen staff. You can tell they've been around for a while and know what they're doing. To eat, I had the mussels and fries. I had never had mussels before, and they set a pretty high bar here! They were super tasty, and I really enjoyed being able to dip the fries in the yummy sauces they provide. I love the vibe in here. It's very old school pub-like, and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area. Thank you Granville Moore's!

This place is a gem located on H st , it resembles an Irish Pub, I bring all friends here and they love it. Food is excellent, happy hour is great and the dishes are pretty shareable. Great selection of yum beers, the service is pretty good as well. Make sure to try the mussels and the Brussels Sprouts.

This was delicious. The mussels are said to be famous here and boy was that true! There was a generous portion in the bowl and it was sauced to perfection. The service was kind even with the room being a little cramped. I loved the Belgian atmosphere, like it was old Brussels! Recommend.

Mussels and fries cooked to perfection! It's a little Irish pub with a great jukebox, fantastic service and a happy hour to die for...$5 for a big bowl of plump mussels. Yay! We tried all their flavors, and I fell head over heels for the traditional presentation of wine, butter and garlic. What's there not to love about that, right?!?

Granvilles is an institution and a truly unique experience. They offer Belgian beers galore and a large selection of Belgian specialties. They are also one of the OG spots of the H Street revitalization. They are known for having the best mussels in town, but we are not mussel fans. What are we to do? Frites, of course. The frites here are spectacular, truly top notch bar food. Even better, just like in any legit bar in Brussels, they have a cavalcade of tasty dipping sauces. The truffle mayo is as good as any we actually had in Belgium. So good. The old bay aioli is excellent, too. They have tables and a bar downstairs and a separate upstairs area, as well. Head to the back to get to the stairs. You can make reservations, and around 7 on Saturday we saw many reservations come in, or you can try your luck with walking in. We walked in and grabbed the only two seats open at the downstairs bar. A delirium nocturnum on draft with frites and mac and cheese gnocchi really hit the spot. The one downside is the service. It was excrutiatingly slow, some of the worst we have ever experienced. We had to ask to order at least 3 times before she would actually take our order, and she seemed to actively avoid making eye contact with people. I am not sure it was the server's fault, though because they had one person for the entire downstairs, including bar and tables. That is a terrible setup. The place was packed, even two people would have had trouble keeping up. We enjoyed everything, but the competition on the block will offer a less aggravating experience.

Really chill place. The music they were playing was smooth and not loud. The staff - good people. They interacted with the guests and you could tell the regulars. They remember who you are. A small town feel for a very big city. I didn't eat but the food smelled great and it was full of people eating. Just a really good chill place to start the night.

Best Mussels in town. I'm not afraid to say it, and neither is Granville Moore's! I've consistently come back for the moules-frites, the proper name for Belgium-style mussels and fries. Pick from a list of can't miss flavors, from the classic Mariniere or the more adventurous Bleu. Dipping the bread into the sauce is an essential part of the experience. The decor is a little drab, the tables and chair well worn in. But there is a huge selection of Belgium beers. It is one of the few places to get Duvel on tap. The staff is happy to walk you through the extensive beer list to help find something to your taste. A few things to keep in mind: no take-out or left-overs, so come ready to eat. Happy hour is daily. Currently, the mussels special is on Sundays. Give it a try, especially if you haven't had mussels before, you won't be disappointed.

I took a random visit to this H street tavern on a Sunday night in search of food. It's like your average tavern hosting a long wooden bar surrounded by ample wooden booth seating. I came and took a seat at the bar it was near closing but the waitress was nice enough to still let me put in a few orders of food to go along with the glass of Chardonnay I ordered before the kitchen closed. The bar was still pretty lively even as the closing hours were approaching. They've got a pretty decent menu ranging from vegan buffalo finger appetizers to pan seared salmon entrees to compliment their long list of bottle and canned beer options. I went with the calamari and their doctor's wings which are essentially smoked wings with a honey bbq glaze. The food came out pretty quickly, the calamari probably could have been fried a little longer but overall a solid appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised with how good the wings were, smoked but not completely dried out where you could still appreciate the flavor of the glaze. Aside from not having any ranch available in the establishment (minor details) I had no complaints, service from the bartenders was excellent and I'll be returning to try out a few of their entrées.

It's been a while since I've been here and I had forgotten how good this place is. Excellent beers, mussels, frites and other mains within an old-world ambience. I had the burger and I can say with confidence that it's the best you'll find in the DMV. Accompany that with a Saison DuPont and the variety of sauces for your fries and you might as well be in Brussels.

I really like the food and service here. Very friendly staff and great food. They have amazing deals during happy hour and have discounts for neighbors. Pay attention though because it's easy to miss. Ended up walking up and down h street several times but it's worth it.

I have SUCH MIXED FEELINGS. Pros: Good beer selection and knowledgeable servers to recommend said beer. Pat, our server, was in charge of the tunes upstairs and they were poppin'. In between: I had the special, which was fish on fries and it was cooked perfectly but the seasoning was kind of whatever. The fries had clearly waited for the fish under a heat lamp and had WAY too much curry sauce on them, leaving them both dry and soggy. Maybe the non-specials are better? Cons: We saw a mouse. It's an older building and it was upstairs and maybe it was just a single mouse. A scout mouse. A single errant rodent who lost his way. But, this is why I never found Ratatouille as charming as so many did. I do not care for rodents near my food. Also the bathrooms were HORRIFYING. The best part was the mechanical trash can that ensured that I didn't have to touch anything, as all surfaces appeared to be wet and or dirty.

Amazing food! I brought my kids age 10,15,18 last night. We all had something different and everything was fresh and delicious! I had their mussels and they were perfection! The burger was HUGE! Waiter was very kind and attentive. Adorable restaurant! (Make a reservation)

Granville Moore used to be a doctor's office back in the day, but now it serves as a namesake for a great beer bar and gastropub. I highly recommend making a reservation here cause since it's available. We stared off dinner with grilled shrimp atop pineapple salsa. The shrimp was a tad bit salty for my taste so I would skip. This place apparently has the best mussels in the city, and I have to agree. We ordered the mussels marinere (classic white wine sauce) and bleu mussels (pork belly, whine wine and shallots). To be honest they both tasted the same, but both were delicious. It comes with a decent amount of mussels for the price. I didn't see much of the pork belly though with in the bleu sauce though. We also ordered fries to accompany the mussels, and you get the option of two sauces. The truffle mayo is highly addictive so I recommend ordering a double of that. The chipotle mayo paled in comparison. This place also had a great selection of beers as well. It reminds me bit like a tavern.

I enjoy dive bars, but this place was almost uncomfortably divey. So much so that I found myself constantly looking around to make sure that there were no unwanted visitors (of the insect or animal varieties) running around. Thankfully none were found. Whew! Ick factor aside, the food was ok. Just ok. I came for Restaurant Week and ordered the Winter Salad as a starter, the Steak Au Poivre for dinner, and the Apple and Pear cobbler for dessert. While I was waiting for my meal to arrive I ordered a Kentucky Mule. It was not very well made: I could hardly taste the bourbon and the drink itself was weak and not well balanced. The Winter Salad was good. Nothing groundbreaking or exceptional about it. The steak was gristly and several bites were a little tough. The frites were delicious when topped with the pepper sauce (which was really nothing more than a mushroom gravy), but were fairly underwhelming on their own. The Apple and Pear cobbler was definitely my favorite part of the meal. Tart and sweet with a positively divine crust. I only wish that the portion size was bigger. It was an interesting take on one of my favorite desserts and I enjoyed it very much. The service was friendly but not really attentive. My server never came by to check on how the meal was going, refill water, or offer me another cocktail. However, she and a couple of other staff members made sure to clear plates almost as soon as I put my fork down.

First time in D.C. and at Granville Moore's Where do I even begin! This place is such a hidden gem! As you walk in you feel like you're walking into the 18th century. I was recommended this spot by a friend and she told me get the MUSSELS. All I can say is WOAH. DEFINITELY GET THE MUSSLES!!!!! I stopped by on a solo adventure and the ambiance was super laid back and friendly. There was a basketball game going on so there were some fans that were super riled up LOL! I ordered the Spicy Thai Mussles accompanied by bread and a Lager. It was perfect. I had never had mussles before because I am Latina and we don't really eat those LOL but I was ready to give it a try. Some highlights - I want to thank the bartender for being so sweet. She reassured me the Spicy Thai Mussles were the best option. I told her I was traveling solo so she recommended a few spots in the area and told me what areas I wanted to stay away from by myself. - I learned how to eat Mussles - THE COCONUT flavor in the Thai Mussles WOAH!!!!!! Incredible. -The beer was great it was light but refreshing and flavorful As the locals said, Granville Moore is as D.C. as it gets. Don't think twice, stop by.

Is this review biased because of a World Series win? Yes. Is it still a good place to go? Yes. What a night!! I'm not even a Nationals fan but since the Nats knocked out the Cardinals, I figured I'd root for the home team. Amazingly, Granville Moore's had plenty of seats upstairs, so we had a place to park ourselves for the evening. The TVs were on, the food and drink specials were excellent ($5), and the fans were pumped. We had two orders of wings - one buffalo and one barbecue - and they were so incredible. Layered, balanced flavors. A little smokey, a little peppery, a little sweet. 10/10. We also had the champignons mussels. I would have slurped up all of the cream sauce without bread but when we got bread, it was a heavenly pairing. Had a great time! #babyshark!

Loved the inside of this bar. We sat at the second floor bar. The food was delicious, especially the brussel sprouts. I don't like mussels so I just had the soup with bread of my husband's Thai dish. It was addicting and had a very nice kick. I am a spicy wimp, but I kept having more because it was so yummy. Service was good and there are plenty of TV's to watch sports while grubbing and drinking. Great spot on H street. Would love to come back.

Love this little spot! Came here to use our DC passport earlier this summer and the bartender was super friendly and the beer was good. Came back today to try their Mussels Monday ($12 mussels). I had the Italian mussels and they were fantastic. Came with a ton of bread. We also got the fries which were excellent as well. Definitely will be back!

We have always loved Granville for its good beer selection, great food, and awesome staff. We ordered pickup today for the first time since the switch the Granville Pasta Place, and were understandably worried to see a neighborhood favorite transforming into something else. Have no fear, my friends. Granville, no matter what is on the menu, is awesome. We got the gnocchi, seafood pasta, and caprese salad and all were amazing. Can't wait to be able to eat again in person no matter what they're serving!

I first came to this place many years ago, about a year after they had beaten Bobby Flay, when he did his throw down shows. Came back tonight and was not disappointed in the least. It is a quaint, small, yet amazing place that everyone needs to go visit if you're in the DC area. The service was awesome and the bartender was amazing. The list of Belgian Beers; draft, bottled and canned is quite large and offers most flavor profiles available in the Belgian beer market. The food though is off the hook. It is a mussels and pomme frites place. They have five different flavor profiles for their mussels to choose from and the portion size is amazing. The crusty bread for dipping in the broth truly makes this fun. The fries are tasty with six different aiolis to choose from as well. My fav was the samurai sauce because it has siracha in it!!! You need to give this place a try and truly you will come back.

I've been excited to return to Granville Moore's since COVID restrictions have been lifted. For a while it looked like we might lose this beloved restaurant to the economic hit of the pandemic. We returned with friends last night and were not disappointed. This rustic old pub resides in an old townhouse that was formerly a Doctor's office for Dr. Granville Moore. It's not fancy but, having traveled a number of times through Belgium, I can tell you that it's legit. First, they have a beer list (draft and bottles) that is hard to beat. The table had a variety of beers but I stuck with the Wit on tap (Vedett) - it was excellent. We started with frites (2 baskets) and calamari. The frites were stellar as ever and they gave us all of the 6 different dipping sauces (truffle mayo, old bay and curry were my favs). The calamari was well done and had a good hot peppery flavor without being mouth burners. Finally, the main event, mussel (or moulles as the locals call them). I had the "bleu ", my wife had the "thai" and our friends had the classic "mariniere". All were amazing and as good as they've ever been; Granville Moore's has not missed a step. All were very flavorful with hearty broths and a side of baguette to sop up the remnants. We split a slice flourless chocolate cake in a strawberry compote... omg... The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous throughout. There was no hustle to move us along and the service was outstanding. Our evening there was just what the good Doctor ordered - a good time with friends in a casual and authentic setting with top notch mussels like you'd find in Brussels; showing us that not everything changed because of the pandemic. Funky little Belgian-themed dive bar! Beer selectiom deep and on point. Fries- well, they were - fries. Perfectly crispy and hot, but just fries. Dipping sauces nice but still just fries. Mussles plump, juicy, sauce delicious - if you love mussles, this is for you! But if yku want more- there isn't any!! So overall - great little place, but only if you really into what they serve.

I used to love this place because it had a great brisket sandwich. It's no longer on the menu, though, & now I have trouble finding anything on the menu that I want. Most recently I had the bison burger. It was good, but I wish there was something more interesting. My husband had mussels, which were excellent, but I'm just not a big fan. There's a terrific selection of beers.

This place is the real deal! We had the garlic and white wine mussels to share. Delicious. I had the Brussels sprouts appetizer for my meal. They were sautéed and then baked with Parmesan - tasty and perfectly textured and flavored. The other guests got the double burger and the veggie burger with fries. Those fries - oh. my. Perfect fries. The beer selection was a Belgian lovers dream. Prices were comparable to other restaurants in light of the sky high While this tables are a little tight, it didn't affect my ability to enjoy the meal. However, if I were going with someone who needed a bit more space, I'd specify that in the reservation because it was cozy Come for the amazing beer, stay for the phenomenal food!

I have been to this place before and it used to be a fine dining place with a purveyor of good beers. Now it is just another run if the mill bar - BUT it has $15 beers if you are looking!!

My wife and I had a nice dinner here for her birthday. I like frites but not moules so much, but my wife reported that the mussels mariniere were excellent; after she was done emptying the shells i had some bear soaked in the left-over flavored broth which was good. I liked the fries although she found them to be cut a bit too thin. I contented myself with two appetizers -- gnocchi mac & cheese with brisket and Brussels sprouts au gratin. Excellent beer list -- about 20 drafts and several dozen bottles. A nice benefit: for happy hour 5-7 daily, all DC bottles and drafts are $5. Nice soundtrack too for this sixties couple

Before heading to ShamrockFest at RFK Stadium, I thought it was a good idea to have brunch at Granville Moore in H Street Corridor. The restaurant had wood walls, floors, and furniture, which gave the atmosphere a homey feel to it. I didn't like how the seats were so close in proximity there wasn't much leg room for those taller people in the party. Our table shares a Mussels Meunière, which consisted of steamed well-schucked mussels in a white wine butter sauce. It was supposed to come with frites but it didn't. It would have been nice if it came with French toast points. I ordered the Two Eggs Any Style and Home Fries. I got two Sunny Side Up Eggs. Even though, I enjoy it, I didn't expect there to be cracked pepper or the yolk to be so runny. I got to try some of my friend's Chicken and Biscuit, I liked how the fried chicken was crispy and juicy. If you're looking for something hearty, I highly recommend this dish.

Being that it was a warm Spring evening my fiance and I wanted to venture to someplace that we don't normally go unless it is warmer weather since it involves a lot of walking for us, so between Adams Morgan and H Street, we chose to head down to H Street since it had been a long minute since the last time we were there. Granville Moore's looked appetizing so we made reservations on OpenTable with no issue for 7:30 on a Friday evening. We were immediately sat upstairs upon arrival. We didn't do any drinks but it looks like they have a fair amount of Belgian beers on tap. Our service was efficient and friendly throughout the evening too. We began with an appetizer, the gnocchi "mac", which is Duck Fat Seared Gnocchi, Smoked Gouda, Cheddar, Bechamel. This was deliciously cheesy and flavorful! The portion is perfect to split too. For entrees, I ordered the bleu mussels-Hook's Blue, Pork Belly, Shallots, Spinach, White Wine, Lemon. As other have commented it was a bit disappointing that the mussels are not served with frites but with extremely ordinary, untoasted bread. There was a lot of sauce so at least there was bread to sop some of it up. I loved the bits of pork belly and the chunks of bleu cheese. The portion was generous for the price and all of the mussels were in good condition to eat. My fiance ordered the bison burger with a fried egg, dijonaise on the side. Frites also came on the side. For the frites we ordered the old bay ketchup, the horseradish cream, and the garlic truffle mayo. I only had a bite of the burger but it tasted well prepared and the egg was nicely done over easy. He finished the burger so I imagine it was flavorful. We used the dijonaise for the frites and YUM-this was a good stone ground mustard! Also, I highly recommend the garlic truffle mayo! A nice hint of garlic and richness-definitely order this sauce! The horseradish cream was actually lacking the horseradish flavor and the old bay ketchup didn't really taste like old bay but that garlic truffle mayo.....that's where it's at! The frites are worth mentioning as well-perfectly fried and seasoned, fresh and thick cut-delicious! We left absolutely stuffed after our meal! I'd absolutely return to Granville Moores in the future for brunch or dinner!

We come here every few months. The gnocchi mac and cheese is truly amazing. All of the mussel flavors we've tried so far have been delicious, and the beer selection is great. Service can be slow on weekends, but the servers are always helpful and kind. Great dinner spot!

On the upside: it's a dive bar. On the downside: it's a dive bar. The sticking point, a bug the size of my thumbnail crawled across the bar. #awkward. By impulse, I tried to kill it, but failed miserably. The bartender seemed scrambled but unhurried almost to a fault. The whole place was not prepared for anything. They were out of gin for my cocktail? Gin is a staple, typically. At least four other people were served drinks before I was. They were also out of rolled silverware and the server handed it to me saying this is our last one- sort of strange. My food was decent. I had a bison burger that sort of tasted more like smoke than bison. Frites we're really good and so was the dijonaise. The whole time, however, I was thinking of the bug. Later, I saw a gnat flying near the bar. Divey for sure.

Ah, the good doctor. What can I say? Maybe I'm a sucker for an MD. Maybe it's just that they treat me so well... what I -do- know is that the folks at Dr. Granville Moore's Brickyard totally take care of me. There's a reason why yelpers clearly love this joint, and it's not because Pat (one of the owners/bartenders) cranks up the volume on Kelly Clarkson. Speaking of, where can one hear our little Ms. Independent and the theme from Star Wars during the same meal? Yeah. Bobby Flay chose a tough opponent when going up against executive chef Teddy Folkman for this upcoming July 8 premier of Throwdown. I just had the moules fromage bleu with bacon, shallots, and white wine. Decadence. The mussels at Restaurant Eve have the perfect consistency. These mussels add a dimension of rich savory flavor that simply soar above the competition. Beware, though - there was just a tiny bit of grit in our mollusks. We also split the fish of the day - a corvina. Typical white fish is flaky, right? Yeah - this one definitely was... but more than that, it was almost creamy in consistency. Served with an incredible ramp pesto (the greens, not the slope) and GMB's renowned frites, this easily equaled, if not surpassed, the succulent mussels. Speaking of decadence, save room for the rich brownie dessert with bourbon caramel. It may not look like a ton of dessert, but once you take a nibble of it, you'll fast discover that it's more than enough for even the biggest sweet tooth. I haven't even touched on how awesome everyone is here - both servers that I've had the pleasure of meeting here (Dee and Ty) have been chill, friendly, ready with recommendations, knowledgeable about the fare, and easy to flag down. Can one possibly ask for more in an earthy, reasonably priced dining establishment? I think not.

Good food. It's a dive but I loved it. The bison burger cooked medium was delicious. The chicken sandwich was grilled very good. The fries were crisp and the sauces we so good. Erin G was our waitress and she was great!!! She made sure our party of 10 was well taken care of. Thanks Erin!!!

I'm beginning to see why I can't talk our crew into coming here with me. It's just okay so far. Bread was okay, but only there for dipping (no side fats offered). Unfortunately my moules mosterd were sort of underwhelming-- one that didn't open, and swimming in a relatively unappealing Dijon thyme broth. I ended up noshing on the bread plain. Leeks were fine. I wouldn't call these chorizo lardons, rather they were slices of highly processed sausage. Our herbed large frites were the highlight of the meal, fried hard enough for nongreasy snacking but terrible for dipping in broth. Sadly, a few were bordering on burnt. The sauces we chose were truffle and curry mayos, though next time I might try horseradish over the truffle. Or maybe I can finagle them into spicing them instead of saucing on the side... I could get behind smoked salt or salt & vinegar. Jukebox near the front by the bar. Kitchen closes at 11:30 pm, and Amanda was nice about hustling my order in when we strolled in at 11:27. (She also thought we were brother and sister, but that's a whole 'nother Filipino vs. Taiwanese story.) There wasn't anything on tap I was particularly keen about, but not a bad Belgian selection. I'll probably come back with my coworker, I'm sure he can't resist a cheesesteak or bison burger post-Fruit Bat. If only seafood were more agreeable to him! The curry mussels sound like they have potential and I originally didn't see the pork belly in the moules bleu. Update: Three and a half stars. They wanted our business enough that our party of six got hooked up with the storage room. Quality of food was better this time-- definitely not for the calorically shy. Steak and cheese was sandwiched in toasted, heavily buttered baguette halves. Kraut rocks was decent, naked chunks of porkraut sausage that was light on its namesake. Fennel sliced to 3/16" thick, mixed in with a better batch of mussels Rich broth, great for dipping and I killed the bowl to find lots of coarse pepper in the dregs. Seasoning was too heavy on fries and a skosh short for swishing.

A very cute hole-in-the-wall gastropub located in an up-and-coming part of DC. I went on the recommendation of a friend and had an OK experience. The concept is Belgian pub food, complete with Belgian beers on draft as well as moules frites (mussel shellfish in broth served with fries), which I think is the only Belgian food on the menu but I don't know enough about Belgian cuisine to be sure. The cramped sliver of a pub had simple decor and was charming enough, with the expectation that it's a pub and not fine dining. Overall it was a nice place to take a date. The garlic fries were very flavorful if not too salty, and the burger was everything I wanted from a pub meal. I recommend getting food to share, especially if indulging in moules frites, as the portions were surprisingly large.

My daughter chose Granvilles for our family brunch. A neat pub like atmosphere. The food was exceptional. Three of us had brisket hash with poached eggs. Don't let the word hash fool you. More like a pot roast marinated overnight. My daughter had fried chicken with sausage gravey and a bisket. Another lovely dish. Check this place out for brunch or any time. You won't regret it.

I am not as impressed by this place as everyone else here. I had the fromage bleu mussels and a small order of fries. I loved the different choices of sauce that goes with the frites, although I wish the horsey cream sauce had more kicks to it. The frites themselves weren't crispy or hot enough for my taste. I prefer the extra crispy and thin cut frites at Brasserie Beck's. I usually end up ordering some kind of bivalve in a restaurant, so I have had lots of mussles from different places. The ones here just didn't work for me. I appreciate tender mussels, but some of the ones I had were almost raw. The blue cheese was too overpowering and the spanich was just a bystander and didn't add anything to the dish. There were also a couple of gritty ones as expected. The best mussels I ever had are still Blacksalt and Eve's. Beer choice is excellent. Don't ask for crappy pilsners here people! The space is cozy, maybe too cozy. Its like eating in a train where there is only room for one person in the hallway.

I have occasionally dined at Granville Moore's. I mostly have had clams and fries and beer. I have been satisfied with the food and service and the prices have been reasonable. However, there is a serious rat problem IN THE RESTAURANT. I dined there earlier his week (late September 2018) with a friend. We were seated on the second floor about halfway between the windows overlooking H St NE; and the kitchen in the rear. We were the only people dining on the second floor. We were in a booth. There was a bartender and another customer seated at the bar. It was around 9 pm. The second floor has exposed wooden beams above and is open to the roof. In the space between the beams and roof are pipes, wiring and a/c ducts. Suddenly a large rat ran down the central aisle of the second floor, running from the front of the restaurant toward the kitchen. As it approached us I let out a yelp. It turned around, ran towards the front right corner of the room where pipes descended from the rafters. It ran up the pipe into the area above the exposed rafters. I told the bartender about it and she apologized. I was not planning on writing a critical review and figured it was something they were not aware of until then. But I happened to tell a friend who ALSO SAW A RAT on the second floor earlier in 2018. See her 7 June 2018 review below. I have to conclude that the restaurant has a serious rat problem and most likely a mouse problem -- though I did not see any mice. And the fact that my friend saw a rat there over 3 months ago or so indicates that it is a longstanding problem that has not been successfully addressed. The rats clearly are moving around on the rafters over the dining area, raising the possibility that there is rat urine and feces dropping down on the customer area from above. The rats are there for the food, raising serious questions about sanitation, garbage disposal, food storage and food safety. I am not going back and will not be recommending the restaurant to anyone.

We do 1/weekly takeout on Fridays and rotate the restaurant. GM's new iteration as a red sauce Italian joint is spot on. Every dish we got was awesome, (and we are from north NJ, we know red sauce Italian...) the portions are enormous (family sized) and kept us fed for several meals. Chicken parm Stuffed shells Fried mozzarella Tiramisu Cannolis (left the gun) This place is for sure in the permanent rotation! Thank you GM and keep up the awesome work!

Loved popping in here for some drinks after dinner. The staff is super friendly, the drink options are awesome and the atmosphere is so authentic. I have been to Belgium a few times and this place feels like I have been transported to Brussels for a drink. Can not wait to come back and see what the food menu has to offer!

Hmm in this time of COVID I think long and hard before posting a negative review but GM I can't hold back. Yelpers be warned. We ordered a delivery of calamari and the spaghetti and Meatballs. The first sign of trouble was when the food arrived the bag was literally oozing oil. But we were hungry, so we wiped off our counter and dug in. Calamari first - the 2nd star is for the inclusion of tasty jalapeno rings. But after a few mouthfuls, we both detected a slight off taste- kinda chemical but we couldn't quite detect it. So set calamari aside and turned to the spaghetti. A true gastronomic fail. The meatballs were pasty- people we were tasting the bread crumbs or whatever binder they used. The sauce was tasty but by then we were through and so we gave up, fed the neighbor's dog and went to bed sad and hungry.

Food here is really good and service is super friendly. However, if you have dust allergies then this is not your place. Inside lighting is rather dim and bathroom room mirror looked like it had never been cleaned. To start we ordered the wings and they were excellent. The way the menu is written it looks like you have a few options. Wings came out hot with a bbq coating and real blue cheese dipping sauce. They did not have ranch dressing. The blue cheese sauce was over powering but wings were so good they didnt need a dipping sauce.

I had dinner at Granville Moore's last Saturday. I had a reservation at 8pm for 4 people. I recommend reserving a table on Open Table if you're coming here with more than 2 people. Our group ordered mussels, frites, burgers, and wings. All delicious! First off, the mussels were great but quite expensive compared to other restaurants and we weren't given any sort of bread to soak up those wonderful sauces! Maybe that's not traditional (?) but it would definitely be a nice to have! The burgers were HUGE but looked great. (I didn't order one). The frites were great too. I love a mayo based dip for them as well and with an order you're able to pick two flavors. Overall, pricey but a cool spot for some yummy Belgian beer and food.

Overall, I would come back here for drinks only. The food wasn't great at all. This review is long overdue as I dined here during winter restaurant week. I had the wings and they were overly salty. The dessert portion wasn't flavorful nor was it served warm. I had a piece of fish the portion size of Oceanaire. I didn't know I was dining as oceanaire that evening. Overall, I barely ate any of the food that evening. Just a waste of money. Sigh. Just overall underwhelmed.

Yelp reviews talked me into going here with a friend during our epic road trip adventure. This place is tiny, like a lot of places we stopped at on our journey. Our waitress was very nice, and we sat in the back porch section (they had some mad heaters going that made it warmer outside than in). It felt like someone's garage/shed packed with random crap that also served food. I originally wanted the bison sandwich but they were out, so I opted for the grilled chicken sandwich. It came with onions, cheese, and chipotle mayo (and the mayo actually had a bite unlike a lot of chipotle mayos that tasted more like mayo than spice) and a side of fries. I also decided to order the fried brie as a starter, and was very happy with it, even though I felt like it lacked a decent amount of apple compote. If we were in town for a few more days I would have gone back to get that bison sandwich though, especially after my friend gave me a small piece of his bison steak. Maybe another time! It was also nice to see the owner/manager (not sure) chatting it up with some of the clientele.

I've wanted to eat here for so long and I'm glad I did. I went for brunch and ordered the bison burger with the fried egg, bacon and Swiss and it was perfect! I rarely ever finish a restaurant burger because they're so huge but I took this one down like a pro! I was stuffed but kept eating! The fries were delicious and the giant mimosa was the perfect finish!! I plan on going for dinner very soon because the menu has some yummy looking things I'd like to try! Just a note: Be sure to make reservations because the space is limited. Also I went on Sunday afternoon so the traffic wasn't bad and the street parking was free.
