The Ultimate Guide to Dining and Drinking in Fredericksburg, Texas | Eater Austin

"Tuscany-inspired estate with sweeping architecture offering guided tastings, member-only patios, and tours of winemaking operations; crowd-pleasing bottles like a Super Tuscan–style red called Bellissimo pair well with wood-fired pizzas from the on-site trattoria." - Brittany Britto Garley

Texas Wineries Form a PAC to Save the Industry During COVID-19 | Eater Austin

"A family-run Fredericksburg winery operated by Brian and Jennifer Heath since 2006, it benefits from an on-site restaurant that allowed it to apply for restaurant-style permitting and continue on-premises service during pandemic-related bar closures. Its co-owner is active in industry advocacy, helping form a PAC to push for treating wineries as their own industry rather than categorizing them as bars; the goal is to reopen tasting rooms, restore direct-to-consumer sales, and protect contracts with local grape growers. The owners argue that lost tasting-room traffic and diminished purchases of Texas grapes have created a cascading impact on both wineries and regional farmers, though this operation is currently in a stronger position than many peers because of its restaurant offering and resulting regulatory allowance." - Gabrielle Pharms

We love Leilani & Grape Creek champagne !!! We had such an amazing experience thanks to Leilani! She served us our wine tasting with so much knowledge, genuine enthusiasm, and encouragement that we ended up joining the wine club on the spot. She’s friendly, informative, and makes you feel right at home from the moment you sit down. We come back every three months just to see Leilani and enjoy another round of Grape Creek wine because she makes every visit special. She is truly a gem and a huge asset to the winery. Highly recommend asking for her! 🍷✨

Google
Our tasting at this winery exceeded every expectation. The setting was beautiful, the wines were exceptional, and the service was top-notch. Our tasting ambassador Dan was the highlight of the experience—welcoming, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable about each wine and the winemaking process. He made us feel right at home and elevated the entire tasting. We left with great bottles and an even greater appreciation for the craft. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We had an amazing experience at Grape Creek Vineyards, and Leilani elevated it even more. She guided us through a beautifully curated tasting that included sparkling, white, and still selections — and every single wine was fantastic. The sparkling was bright and flavorful, the whites were beautifully balanced and aromatic, and the overall lineup was genuinely impressive. Leilani was warm, knowledgeable, and made the entire tasting feel thoughtful and personalized. She answered every question, helped us understand the wines more deeply, and created such a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. If you’re visiting Grape Creek Vineyards, ask for Leilani — and definitely try the sparkling and white wines. They were outstanding! 🍾🍇✨

We spent a beautiful afternoon at Grape Creek Vineyards, and honestly, Larissa made it unforgettable! From the moment we sat down, she was full of energy, smiles, and genuine kindness. She didn’t just serve us — she made sure every detail was perfect: refilling glasses right on time, recommending her favorite wines (which were spot on!), and checking on us just enough to make us feel pampered but never rushed. The best part? She became our unofficial photographer and took the most spectacular pictures — seriously, they look like something out of a magazine! 📸🍇 Larissa went above and beyond, and that kind of service deserves to be celebrated. We left happy, relaxed, and already planning our next visit back to Grape Creek. Thank you, Larissa, for your wonderful energy, kindness, and for making our wine day one to remember! Cheers to you! 🥂✨

David was absolutely wonderful! The quality of the wines Grape Creek has - and everyone was rather knowledgeable of their processes and history. We were NOT buying another membership but we did. Only suggestion is that you try the wine before you try the sparkling wines. Jason sounds like a really good, competent, and award-winning vinologist. We will probably always stop at Grape Creek and their ?sister wineries whenever we come to Fredericksburg. A MUST DO. I think if you join one and you’re a member of most of them!

Google
This is a beautiful vineyard. The building itself is lovely and the surroundings add to it! I highly recommend the wine tasting. Get Eve if they let you choose who does your wine tasting. She was very knowledgeable and super friendly! She clearly knows her stuff!

Google
PERFECT WINERY. This was our first time at Grape Creek and decided to do the tour. I’m SO GLAD we did. My husband and I truly enjoyed ourselves the whole time. Cam, Steven and Dan were so amazing!! For how many tastings you get and all the behind the scenes access, this tour is definitely worth it. Steven and Dan were so knowledgeable, patient and kind. I lean more towards the semi sweet and sweet wines, whereas my husband likes a little of this and that. Dan helped me fine my favorite wine of all time and even went as far as creating a blend of two wines that pair perfectly with steak. We ended up buying both wines! You won’t be disappointed but a visit but I urge you to do the tour!! Totally worth it!

Google
Amazing tour & taste experience! This vineyard is on the straight to consumer business model so you will be asked multiple times to join their club membership but there are many good reasons to join if you love their wine. The tour and taste gives visitors a chance to experience the wine and beautiful vineyard without committing to anything. We had a great time and ultimately did choose to try out the membership as their wines were delicious and their customer service could not have been better. On a perfect day, sitting in the patio area feels like sitting in a movie or in a painting. Definitely recommend the tour and the wine to anyone who enjoys sipping the fermented fruit juice! Heath has something for anyone at their family of vineyards!

Yelp
8/15/25 50th anniversary trip to Fredericksburg. My first time and God willing it won't be my last. Had a wonderful time. Grape Creek is beautiful and they have the best sandwich I've ever had in my 69 years on this earth. The TURKEY CRANBERRY !!! Get it !!! You will not regret it. Hope you have a great time. P.S. In my great wisdom I forgot to get a picture. Trust me it's FANTASTIC !!!

Yelp
When you invite someone in...you should ask them to have a seat. Well not at grape creek. You spend $30 per flight tasting. They make you stand. I asked if I could get a chair. They said it was reserved for their members only. How much to be a member? Free. But you have to buy at least three bottles that randomly hit your credit card. Marketing works on my wife...so she signed us up. They said welcome to the family! Kinda like a cult. Finally we could sit down. We got the meat balls that were good. They dont serve beer...so she gave me something. I paid the tab and headed to the restroom. I come out of the restroom and a lady meets me at the door. You forgot to pay your tab on the meatballs she says. I paid my tab. Well that was for the drinks. I apologized and paid. But who runs a separate tab for food and drinks when you sat in the same chair the whole time. Segregation is very important to them. Either you can be a member and sit. Or not and stand. No southern hospitality here. Likely run by liberal Californias.

Yelp
Wow! What a scene - I'm sure this comes at no surprise to Melanie, but unfortunately, I have to go out of my way to leave a scathing review instead the original that I hoped to leave on the drive home to Dallas. Here we go - We celebrated our anniversary a bit late this year, but got into town Saturday night for an "extended weekend" through Wednesday. First thing we did was hit the town and get local's opinions on venues and wineries. Signor was the first venue I wanted to visit (Go there instead), but they are closed on Monday and Tuesdays (09/15 & 09/16) However Grape Creek seemed stunning, and came in at a close 2nd. We were warned multiple times of the undeserved, pretentious attitude, and poor customer service that Grape Creek was 'known' to give - out of all Heath Properties. Which to be frank, is why we went on a slow Monday. We get there around 2:00PM dressed for pictures (I was in a white dress - hopefully management can view this on camera). We paid for a tasting, and a tour afterwards. Melanie's awful behavior ruined our entire experience - Condescending question of "does that make sense" at unnecessary times left us feeling slighted. We were hoping to ignore it until she started rudely speaking over us again and again, I had to walk away multiple times because of the hostility and demeaning tone that was coming out of her - we truly couldn't believe it. Not only because it was our anniversary, but because it's Texas and we're used to Southern hospitality. This woman literally held up a menu to my face and said "can you read this? - it says October." She wasn't being clear around the wine memberships, or how scheduling worked, or events we could come to after signing up. Mind you, This is after us already agreeing to sign up, and have lunch on property after trying the Cuvée Blanc. She is a nasty woman who has no business being the face of a company. Not only as a wine rep, but as a sales representative. Even though she should probably be in a kennel, I'll throw her a bone, And say she might've bit off more than she could chew - she wasn't capable of giving quality service to 2 small groups at once. We walked out due to disrespect near the end of the tasting and didn't finish it, only to flat out cancel our tour because it was 20 minutes late. We waited in the blistering sun because we felt uncomfortable/unwelcome around Melanie. She lost club members - Thankfully. We will never be back, but I will say speaking about this experience to locals, and other vineyards made us feel better because they couldn't have agreed more, and shared similar experiences!

Yelp
Are you a member? Do you want to experience Grape Creeks wine? Sorry - not for you! They let me buy a bottle, but my request to sit at the 20 open tables was a no-go without a membership. The silver lining was they were willing to give a refund after staff may have agreed the 'this does not compute' sign on my face was flashing. There are many other friendly vineyards more deserving of your currency. We went across the street (2 or so miles...relatively speaking)! and found Rhinory, which not only treated us like royalty but were very laid back, kind, and after several days of going to the top-rated vineyards -- not only imo were the best but support a good cause. In short - don't waste your time here unless you just WANT to be a member of mediocre wine and judgmental staff and owners.

Yelp
Former members from the Georgetown location, we discontinued our membership when Covid hit. We had never visited the vineyard outside Fredericksburg, but during a recent trip, we decided to stop in. The staff was courteous and friendly and asked if we'd like to join the next tour, which included a tasting. We found our guide, Zanna, to be knowledgeable, and her presentation was very informative. We learned some things about Grape Creek wines that we hadn't realized--mainly that they use ZERO additives. Having enjoyed our membership in years past, we decided to reactivate and look forward to our next regular shipment of these outstanding Texas wines.

Yelp
My favorite vineyard in Fredericksburg! No idea why it has only 3 stars. Service is always great and the wine is top notch. We are members here and don't plan on canceling it anytime soon. Very pretty vineyard with a great selection of reds, white, rose, and sparkling wine. Their charcuterie board is also tasty! Special shoutout to Kim and Westin! Definitely give them a visit!

Yelp
Wine tour and tasting was great! The knowledge that we received and how everything works and how long it takes for a wine to be perfect was an eye opening and deserves much appreciation! The wine tour lady was very knowledgeable on the wine making steps and was nice enough to let us taste a few of their wines inside the storage. She was very friendly, approachable, and well liked by our group. Place is big and has numerous wine storage facilities around. After the tour, they do give you more wine tasting and want you to join their exclusive winery membership. We do not drink that much wine so we decided not to join. The older man that was giving us the wines to taste was very friendly at first but after tasting a couple of wines and not becoming a member, he became sarcastic and rude to us. That's when we knew to get out so we can enjoy the outside and take photos by the grape trees.

Yelp
Meh. We pulled in off the highway because we saw a billboard claiming they were rated number 1 for wineries on Trip Advisor. I think Trip Advisor is rigged if this is even in the top 10. The grounds are beautiful but the wine itself was just okay. We did a tasting but didn't like anything enough to buy it. If you are looking for ambiance and good wine I would go to Featherstone instead. Service was just okay. We were stuck tasting with another couple because she couldn't find the person working the other bar (the place was dead on a Tuesday). The lady serving us and the other couple was nice enough but she offered the other couple a bonus pour and told us she would figure out a good bonus pour for us but then never brought it out. She gave the other couple theirs but didn't offer us one after mentioning it. Instead she started the hard sell on their wine club. Wine wasn't fantastic so I wasn't interested in joining a wine club but the whole "bonus pour" being given to the other couple (and offered to us) and then ignoring us was somewhat annoying. She ended up coming off a bit pretentious. It left me wondering if once we didn't buy her wine club offer she shifted gears to blowing us off. Needless to say I probably won't be back. Too many other GREAT wineries in Fredericksburg to waste your time here.
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
Don't waste your time with this Winery. After we arrived the only way you can get access to the patio is to purchase an overpriced membership. The attitude of the greeter was extremely pretentious, it was not a great experience. There are so many great wine locations in Fredericksburg it was hard to imagine why someone would want to purchase a membership just for the privilege of sitting on their patio.
google avatar

Alisa M.

Yelp
Great service and good!! Looking forward to coming back soon!! Leilani was a great host!
google avatar

Kei S.

Yelp
We adored our time here. There is a lot to look at and read in here while you wait for a staff member to become available. They also give you water while you wait which was much appreciated. The tasting here was super complex and we found that there were a lot of our picks had very unique flavor profiles, which was interesting to experience. By fiance loved everything he tried, he is a moscato drinker. So to have a wine smooth enough for him to like is very impressive and I'm so glad he was able to experience a sweeter tasting and truly enjoy it. My tasting was good too!

Yelp
Extremely Disappointed by Rude and Unprofessional Staff Our experience at Grape Creek Vineyards was nothing short of shocking due to the incredibly rude behavior of multiple staff members. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with disrespect. It began with Kent, who was operating the golf cart shuttle. Instead of offering a warm welcome, he told us to "get off our high horse" -- an absolutely inappropriate and unprovoked comment that set a terrible tone. Things didn't improve from there. When we arrived at the tour, Steven, who had already started, greeted us with a passive-aggressive "nice of you to join us." When we asked a simple question about seeing the exterior of the winery, he curtly refused, saying he was on a time schedule. Inside, instead of offering any understanding or hospitality, he repeatedly asked if we were "done complaining." Finally, we spoke with Kimberli, hoping for a more empathetic response, but she was equally dismissive and unprofessional. She even said we were the ones who should be embarrassed -- which is completely absurd given the way their team treated us. Frankly, the only thing embarrassing here is the lack of basic customer service and hospitality. There are plenty of beautiful wineries in the area that offer great wine and treat guests with respect. I strongly recommend spending your time and money elsewhere. I've attached a photo of Steven at the moment he was essentially dismissing us from the experience. We were stunned -- not just at the tone, but the complete disregard for basic hospitality. Wine was meh. Tasted like juice.

Yelp
This is a beautiful winery in Fredericksburg and one of our favorites to visit. Service is impeccable and they make members feel like VIPs. On our recent visit we had reservations for their Sunday brunch (you must be a member to book their brunch). On this visit, our Comped wine was a Heath Family Blanc de Blanc bubbles. Two of us ordered the French toast brioche, with cinnamon-spiced peaches, berries, pecans, scrambled eggs, and applewood bacon. Our better halves order the crab and salmon benedict. As usual brunch was fabulous. This is a great club to join as their wines are top notch and there are multiple locations for your wine pickups besides their beautiful winery off of 290 and on Main St Fredericksburg. the Georgetown location is convenient but it does get crowded and service can be occasionally spotty.

Yelp
Stopped at several vineyards for wine testing for my daughter's birthday, but Grape Creek was one of our favorite due to Laurie who assisted us. She was very personable and knowledgeable about the different wines. She made our whole experience very enjoyable
google avatar

Bianca S.

Yelp
Stopped by on the 290 shuttle, while the grounds are beautiful the customer service when checking in is below subpar. The lady checking us in was not very welcoming or inviting, had us pay AND THEN asked us for ID. Obviously over 21 but that in it of itself was off putting. Melanie hosted us for our tasting, and really turned the experience around, had it not been for her we would probably never consider returning. The couple next to us had a very similar experience, we all had the same sentiment about the interactions with the cashier and host who walked us to the tasting. One plus is you do get to select your tasting wines. Apparently food is only for members, we wanted this to be our lunch stop as they seem to have a wonderful menu but was informed it was a members only option. Overall - Melanie is doing the lords work for this establishment, and deserves a raise. They should clean house with the rest of the people who aren't creating a welcoming winery experience you would expect for the setting.

Yelp
The winery and indoor space are charming and very well decorated. They also have a great collection of wines. I found the servers to be quite snobbish though, it seemed like they only cared to be nice if you were a wine club member. This is also a 21+ winery so no kids allowed, including the restaurant and they will not even allow you to be anywhere in the area even if you are not drinking and it's pouring rain outside.
google avatar

Geoffrey P.

Yelp
Rules. Too many. Rude staff. Too pretentious. . 20+ years ago this was our favorite vineyard of the few on 290. No longer. They've sold their grapes and their souls to California. We won't be back. Off to Becker with the hippies and cowboys!

Brett R.

Yelp
We were on the 209 winery tour, which is basically a hop on/hop off bus. We hopped off and when we went up, we were told that we were too big a group. We had 10 people and they could not service a group that large as we would make too much noise. We offered to subdivide into a group of six and four and they refused. This is early in the day and we have not had anything to drink at that point. The clerk was unapologetic and we asked him what we were supposed to do because the bus was gone and he shrugged and said I don't know. Never actually encountered anything so rude nor stupid in my life. We offered to adhere to their rules and they would not let us.

Yelp
Amazing vineyard. I have been here many times with friends and family and it was never a disappointment. Grape Creek always has one of the best services I have experienced from all the other vineyards I have gone too. We loved this place so much and their wine that my husband and I signed up as members. Members get discounts, perks when visiting as well as 4 bottles of wine every quarter. This place is so relaxing and I feel so sophisticated and attended too when we come and visit.

Yelp
We had a large group (of 8) on a busy Saturday in June. We had advanced reservations, and were seated on the patio. The sun was too hot in the area we were in, and so asked to be moved to a nearby table more in the shade - the staff were polite and accommodating and helped us shift tables. Chad S was our wine steward - he made us feel welcome and went over the menu/wine options, and answered our many questions. He was fun, and had a great sense of humor. The service, at times, seemed slow (compared to a regular restaurant experience), but a) they're extremely busy on a Saturday, and b) we're at a winery - so we were NOT in a hurry. It didnt bother us at all. Wine options were plentiful, and we got some cute pictures on the grounds.

Yelp

Yelp
We did a tasting here close to closing time. We were still warmly greeted; not the "we are closing" greeting we received at some other places. The wines were delicious and the stories about the wines were great. We did not feel as though we were an imposition. We did end up leaving right at closing time, so we appreciated their professionalism. I ended up getting 3 of the bottles we tried. We joined their wine club because we can use it at their Georgetown location. There were 3 different versions to choose from. All really good. And you get extra perks as a member. Many Fredericksburg wineries are closed on Tuesdays. Good info to know if planning a visit. This one was open :)

Yelp
My friends and I came to grape creek vineyards for a wine tour and tasting. What was frustrating at first was that we wanted to grab a small bite and some wine before the tour since we arrived 45 minutes early, but it was only exclusive to members. No exception. So, we drove to a market nearby. Overall, the wine tour was a good experience, and it was cool to learn about the different types of wine and how the woods in the barrels contribute to the different tastes. Our tour guide was very informative and thorough with his explanations! Once we got to the wine tasting room, we were told we could only sample up to 3 different wines, but the guy was open to letting us try more. At one point, when he started talking about the membership though, it felt like he was pressuring us to sign up, and it was getting way too excessive, even when I had already said no thank you. My group started to sense the vibes that you are treated much differently if you're a member vs not a member. The wine was pretty high quality I will admit, but the service was not. After the tasting, we dined in at the restaurant, since 2 of our friends became members on the spot... the spinach artichoke was tasty- cheesy and creamy with chunks of artichoke throughout. Loved how they served it with crispy pita chips on the side and the carrots to add a lil balance. Also, we were sitting at a table directly under the sun, and we asked if they could open up the umbrella, but they said they were unable to because of the wind (that was non existent). We eventually moved under the shade, but my group had to sit at two different tables.
google avatar

Sherrie H.

Yelp
The first time we came to Grape Creek we just wanted to get a charcuterie and a bottle of wine... We were told that that was only available to members... So we left and went to Becker where we were accommodated with smiles . Then we went back with friends who were members and had a better experience and decided to join... We then went back another time with those same friends, as members, for Sunday brunch... Not only was our food cold... But for a burger and pizza and one additional mimosa... We were charged $108. Our server was very dismissive and did not want us to view the ticket... We have owned restaurants for 17 years and I know that I could've spoken with a manager and probably gotten it taken care of, but that was a two strikes and you're out situation. We won't go back.

Yelp
This has been our favorite experience on the Texas Wine Passport tour this year. Eve was a friendly, fun and knowledgeable host at the bar serving our wine tasting flight. We stuck to reds, and enjoyed all the ones we tasted. Interestingly, our favorites in order of preference were the cheapest at number 1 and most expensive at number 4. We liked the Cabernet Trio the best, the Bellisimo, Invention and then Serendipity. We liked it so much, we joined the wine club and then stayed for lunch at the member's only restaurant-Stouts. There is plenty of seating for members inside and out, with a patio separate from the restaurant, where they serve small bites and wine. The restaurant also has outdoor and inside seating. We chose inside to avoid the heat, but will definitely look forward to eating outside next time for a better view. The pricing is a little high, but the portions are generous and the quality was good. I had Crab Cakes Benedict with home fried potatoes, and my husband had a breakfast burger that was large with lots of Parmesan fries. We enjoyed both very much. Update: we went back for lunch a few days later and had the delicious meatballs, hummus & veggies and meat lovers pizza. It was all fantastic! Can't wait to go again.
google avatar

Armonde M.

Yelp
No seating at their tasting. Made us throw away outside water, it's 90+ degrees and felt very irresponsible for them to do this given their water is not free. Service was ok. Wine is very good, their only redeeming quality.

Rebecca E.

Yelp
Emilie provided awesome service! She shared a sample of the peach wine to ensure it was exactly what I'd enjoy! She was right! The peach wine was amazing and paired so well with the charcuterie board!

Alfonso L.

Yelp
Terrible service. Staff is overly pretentious and not very responsive to their patrons. Wine quality is subpar for the price. You're better off going to another place as there are many great options in the area.
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
Very nice and very large property with plenty of indoor or outdoor space to sit and mingle. Spacious dining area. Our food was great. We were treated nicely by our servers. I may be biased being that I came with great company. Prices are somewhat steep.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
We like the vineyard so much we became members! They are one of the oldest wineries in the area and uphold an excellent reputation. The location is beautiful with a wonderful landscape to enjoy as you taste their wine offerings. We were fortunate to have an amazing host for our tasting. He provided detailed descriptions on each of the wines and offered excellent recommendations. Grape Creek has a variety of wines to satisfy any palate, whether you are looking for something crisp and refreshing or more full-bodied and complex. Grape Creek is always our go to stop when we visit Fredericksburg!
google avatar

Nan T.

Yelp
Almost comical how rude and pretentious the staff are. They are part of a popular shuttle route, but the amount of rules and level of exclusivity they're desperately trying to give off at this vineyard make it virtually impossible to even get in. Which is honestly fine, our experience at the check in station was enough to make us want to leave. The hostess and the security guard were so cold, so arrogant, and so unwelcoming. It was unbelievable. The vibe here is the complete opposite of what Fredericksburg so special.

Nicholas C.

Yelp
The staff was very rude to us upon arrival. My gf's sister forgot her driver license and despite having a picture of her license, they accused us of being TABC agents. Worst winery I've ever been to!!!
google avatar

Kevin Z.

Yelp
I have visited wineries literally around the world and have to say this was the worst I have ever experienced. The level of arrogance was palpable. I'm a member of several wine clubs (California, Washington and Texas). I was excited to go to Grape Creek with friends who are members. Usually wine club members are treated very well. Given the margin they afford the wineries, they are generally considered an important part of the business. Had I not been with my friends, I wouldn't have even been allowed in! And when they picked up their club allotments they were initially told they couldn't get a glass of wine. Seriously! Get over yourselves. We're in Texas and that kind of condescension doesn't fly here.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
DONT GO HERE I don't leave negative reviews often, but I will say of all the wineries in Fredericksburg that I visited, this is the rudest winery I've ever been to. We drove all the way from Austin and this was the first winery we're visiting. We have a service dog with us and the winery clearly states that service dogs are allowed. When we walk up to check in for the tasting that we paid for in advance, she was incredibly rude and basically grilled us on my dog being a service dog. She completely crossed a line, asking questions that violated HIPPA compliance. Her name is Julia and she is the rudest woman I've ever met. The group that we joined later said that she was really mean to them as well. Later, we got questioned again by another woman, Kimberli (she was nicer about it but it frustrated us because it was the second time we were being interrogated. I 100% think Julia spoke in their earpiece to question us. There is no reason to be questioned twice when I provided the accurate information about my service dog and the establishment says they allow them. It was just rude and negative energy all around for a place that's rated #1 on Trip Advisor. We later went to a nearby winery and told them about our experience. They said "yes, they are very militant there. It's because they have a lot of money, sell wines in stores and boast having tons of members". At the end of the day, my service dog is well trained, certified through an accredited organization and trained in the CGC guidelines, yet I was accosted by Julia about it and the entire time felt I was being watched... I had a miserable experience at this winery.

Yelp
Do you want to feel unwelcome? This is the place for you. Won't let you eat at their restaurant if you aren't a member. Told us to go do a tasting and then join their club, and then they'd let us eat there. The host also complained about to us about the ONE lunch reservation on his book, stating he'd like to get rid of them.

Yelp
Don't bother with this place unless you wanna hand over your wallet. If you're not a member, the experience is quite disappointing. I chose this winery because of its beauty but we never even got to see it. Non-members were herded into the tasting room which was a glorified sales pitch for buying a membership. After the quick tasting we asked to get a glass but no, only members can get a glass to drink out on the patio. Basically, buy a membership or bust. So we left. Way to take the fun out of going to wineries. Whole thing felt like a money-grubbing elitist-only scheme.

Yelp
I can not express how much this winery has gone down hill. Their customer service is horrible, staff is rude and even turned away family that "were" members with an infant. Don't not let the beautiful ambiance be an oversight for what you are really going to experience. Complete waste of time and money. There are too many really nice up and coming wineries to entertain this type of treatment. We have been going to 290 wine trail for decades. I was even a member at Grape Creek and cancelled years ago. Only to find now they are taking over and spreading the horrible management style to other wineries such as Kuhlman. This used to be such a great little place that now is ran by the Heath family which does not value their members. They also do not offer flexibility in their membership allocations. We were basically told if you do not like the way we run things, then we do not want you as a member. Do yourself a favor, if want to enjoy your day or weekend, pass by the Heath Family Wineries!!!

Yelp
Horrible experience at the main Vineyard in Fredericksburg! The hostess at the front was very curt, rude, and verbally arguing with her coworkers in front of customers. Very unprofessional and bad customer service. I was a guest of a member here and I was shocked to see how poorly members were being treated! Will not be coming back. Save yourself a trip and go to Any other winery!

Yelp
I'd give 0 star but the place wouldn't let us order. We were in the process of becoming members but they wouldn't let us order to accommodate for our 6 guests. We left empty handed and we were actually excited to try the place.

Yelp
Unfortunately, today's visit was a major disappointment. Upon arrival, Andrea greeted us with noticeable rudeness and a complete lack of warmth or professionalism. It felt like we were being treated with disdain from the moment we stepped in. Inside, while picking up my wine shipment, Joanne couldn't seem to get my name right and had a visible attitude about the process. When we informed her we wouldn't be staying, she insisted we go through the drive-thru despite the fact that we were already inside, standing right in front of her, fully capable of walking out with it ourselves. We were also picking up a shipment for a friend, and instead of handling it with basic courtesy, Joanne gave us unnecessary attitude and remarked that "they better be okay with it." I've had great experiences here in the past, which makes this all the more disappointing. Something has clearly changed. I've removed my previous positive review and will leave this one until I have another experience worth praising. If this type of treatment continues, I will seriously consider canceling my membership altogether... As I write this from another vineyard one I'm not even a member of I'm being treated with far more respect and am enjoying a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. That says a lot...

Yelp
DO NOT VISIT THIS WINERY! We signed up to receive wines for April and they sent in February! I called on February 3rd to cancel, and they sent the wine anyway! When I called and spoke to Wendy, she said they messed up and there was nothing she could do! This is not a way to run a businesses! This is fraudulent, and they will hear from me again! They are charging me for 2 different types of wine clubs, one at $172 and the other at $133! This is insane, do not do business with this winery! They are liars and rude! I guess they never heard of, HONEST BUSINESS!

Yelp
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the service was great. We did not have any food at our wine tasting tour but we enjoyed every minute of it. The property was gorgeous and the short tram ride was comfortable. We loved the wine selection!

Yelp
I joined! That's how much I loved it. When you arrive you are asked if you are tasting or just coming to get a glass of wine. Loved the ambiance. We will be back!

Yelp
This is my first time in Fredericksburg and this is the first wine tasting we wanted to try and the experience was absolutely TERRIBLE and we didn't even make it past paying for a wine tasting. They made it a big deal that we had 8 people and suggested for us to break up our group into two which we were completely fine with. We get to the register and some blonde, rude boy kept rolling his eyes when we explained what HIS coworker told us. Then he proceeds to get a manager (terrible one at that) for whatever reason and when we explain the situation yet again she tells us she can't accommodate to our big party even if we broke up into 2 groups. Not sure if it's cause we weren't white enough for the place but save your money and time. I highly suggest this place gets new management and employees.

Yelp
The best wine in Texas! Amazing red, sister vineyard with Heath who has fantastic sparkling wine. A must for the wine lovers passing through. Huge thanks to Melanie for the fun tastings and Zanna for the hospitality!

Yelp
The guy at our front entrance gave us a warm greeting! He helped me pick out wine and shared a little tip on how to store it: the cork needs to stay wet to prevent the wine from oxidizing, so keep your wine tilted. The inside of the building was very clean and classy, reminding me of a fine dining restaurant. The customer service was excellent; they retrieved the wine quickly, and I was able to get in and out in under 10 minutes. Despite not drinking myself, I bought the wine as gifts, and I'm sure my friends will love it! Additionally, both the restrooms and the outdoor walking area were nice and clean. I highly recommend visiting here!

Yelp
Omg! We read the reviews and almost did not come because of some of the negative opinions.I AM SO GLAD WE CAME! Not only was this the best wine we've had outside of Italy/ France (and we moved from CA), but the customer service was beyond incredible. It shocks me that people wrote poorly about this. We had Laurie as our server, and she was so kind, not pushy, gave us extra wine to taste off the menu and we felt like we were enjoying amazing wine in a beautiful location with a long time friend. She is the best, ask for her! She will make you feel like you are the most important person in the room. Hands down do not miss out on coming here! We took a road trip for our anniversary and visiting here has been the highlight.

Yelp
Terrible service. Staff was very rude. Turned us away. We were told couldn't be accommodated in a group of 5. Said tasting don't set anyway but we were not going to be allowed in. Not representative of a Texas winery. Don't waste your time going here. Guess we were not their ideal clientele.
