We found this place when looking online for a nice romantic restaurant. We were celebrating my girlfriend's 25th birthday. We each had a starter, main course and dessert. The restaurant was very nicely decorated. You had the feeling that it used to be a very décadent place in which famous people used to put their hat down to have a meal. The fire place adds to the atmosphere. However, with time the furniture got worn out and now it has just the right amount of decadence for one to still feel like you belong. The service was great too, very attentive with our wine and had a good sense of humor. The best part however was the food. The way the chef combined each ingredient to make sure that none overpowers the other. You could taste each one and that way each one shined for itself but also together. The flavours were so fresh. They have a certain spice that they use for their calamaris and their potatoes (and surely also other dishes) which adds to the flavour of the dishes and it is so delightful and also quite cheeky. There was just a touch of chilli in the spice and it just started tickled fire on your tongue. It was great. The meat was cooked to perfection. And the dessert, the cheesecake, usually it is too sweet and you can't taste the cheese. But this one had all the flavours and the last taste that is left in your mouth is the smooth cheese taste.
We would like to thank all the staff, complement the decoration and the atmosphere and most of, take our hat of to the chef! Thank you so much for giving us a perfect meal for the perfect night!
