We really enjoyed their small plates. We ordered 4 things, and potato fries and smoked cabbage were our favorites. We also asked for ketchup to go with fries, which later we found out also made in house, great quality.

Butcher shop and Farm to table restaurant. Menu is full of items that made from local fresh ingredients. Aged meat from beef to pork and special sausages can be purchased to be cooked at home. Food off the menu, serving with local draft beer and wine. Try the buffalo rotisserie chicken, roasted chicken with a bath of buffalo sauce. The garlic kale salad. The butcher's meatloaf with marinara red sauce. We enjoyed the chicken and the kale salad greatly. The meatloaf was salty, may be it came from the salt of the aging process, but it was flavorful nevertheless. Casual and clean place. Food brought to the table by the staff. They also cleaned the mess after you're finished. Good addition to the Mystic restaurant lineup. A must try if you are in the area. It is a bit pricey. It is Mystic, so it is kind of expected...

Came highly recommended by locals. Went here and got some really good tacos as a quick bite. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It was cool to walk around and see all of the meat they had in the coolers.

My dad and I were passing through a little off the highway and found this tasty gem. The meat was fresh, spicy flavors, the server friendly and their original kombocha drink and chocolate chip cookies put a smile on my face on our drive home.

To say this is one of the best meals I've ever had would be an understatement. What an amazing local find on a day trip to Mystic. There are so many places to eat in such a small town, it can be way too easy to overlook so many quality places. We decided to eat here because of its proximity to our car and because of the varied menu items. The old bay macaroni salad was the star of the show. It was salty -- reminiscent of Maryland crab restaurants. Served cold, it was the perfect pairing to the red curry half chicken. The chicken was tender, succulent, flavorful and topped with the most amazing red curry sauce with peanuts and fried basil. We also got the roast beef sandwich which was also phenomenal. The perfect combination of meaty, sour from the pickles and rich from the cheese. My only slight critique was that it could have used slightly more mayo, it was a tad dry but that was easy to overlook with how good the bread was! We also had dessert because, well, we're fat and everything was so good it only made sense. Beef fat chocolate chip cookies sound equally delectable as they do disgusting, but what could have been an overly greasy and fat-laden mess was well-balanced, salty, sweet and chocolaty. I'm someone who falls into the camp of desiring the softest of cookies and they did not disappoint. The real star for me was the shortcake though! Grilled cornbread topped with a spiced whipped cream and perfectly cooked apples. It was so complex. Savory and sweet and crisp and soft and creamy and...and...and! Just go here! You'll love it. The decor is awesome. It has a deli-like feel but elevated. Friendly staff. Table service. Outside the busy downtown.

We finally got around to ordering from here. I wish I would have waited awhile longer. We ordered the spicy Caesar salad. The lettuce was brown. I mean obvious brown not brown I had to look for. Not much dressing either. And for $14 I think lettuce should be green and fresh. We also got the rotisserie chicken. It was okay. Maybe a little dry. It was also pretty small. Almost like a Cornish hen. It definitely was not better than one from Stop & Shop or Costco. And at $16 definitely not worth it. I also love Reubens so I had to try it. Once again nothing memorable about it. If you're in Mystic go to Friar Tucks for a great one. Being a local very sad to blast a local business. But 3 different items all mediocre to bad isn't an accident. It's just bad and way overpriced

If you want meat of any kind, this is the absolute best place to get it! I was so excited to find Grass and Bone as a butcher when I moved to Mystic. Their rotisserie chickens are the best and all of their dishes taste great. What's more, they sell organ meat, which I buy for my dogs (you can see Bourbon's super shiny coat in the pic, thanks to her organ supply!)

Our first experience at Grass & Bone was a success. Love the atmosphere and unique food offerings such as the Oxtail & Rice soup and Whit’s corn bread with maple butter.
