"Grasshopper Cafe is a long-running cafe in Charlestown operated by Kevin and Lynn Smith. They serve a mix of fare, including salads, steak with fries, Reuben sandwiches, and breakfast items. Weekend specials feature eggs Benedict with lobster and crab cakes, blueberry coffee cake, lox and bagels, among other items. The owners plan to build housing on the lot but have updated that they no longer plan to close the cafe as of 2/26/20." - Dana Hatic

Excellent service even though they were busy. Food was made just like I ordered. It’s a very nice place for breakfast located in a nice quiet and beautiful neighborhood.

The breakfast at Grasshopper Cafe is great. Their grilled steak breakfast burrito is delicious and their pancakes are very good as well. The owners work right there in the Cafe and you can tell that they take a tremendous amount of pride in their restaurant. The food is fantastic and they take great care of their customers. Stop in for breakfast or just to grab an iced coffee; this place is well worth the visit. I will be going back.

I want to love it, or even like it. But after years of disappointing meals, I’m done. Everything is just blah, and my expectations for breakfast food are appropriately measured - simply holding this up to classic diner standards. The coffee is especially horrid. However, the staff seem to be uniformly efficient and nice. So if you absolutely need a plate of eggs and bacon and can’t bring yourself to walk to Bacon Truck or drive to Buddy’s Diner, go here and tip well. But the food (and for the love of God, the coffee) could use a major revamp.

The Irish breakfast. To die for. Nice little local hole in the wall.

Great breakfast. I got the "Yummy Omelet" special. Tons of veggies and cream cheese inside with ano the tons of beautifully arranged saute baby spinach on top. The omelet lives up to it's name. Can't comment on the home fries as I substituted a really great fruit cup instead. Nice, clean place. Friendly service. The only downside is over roasted coffee. I take my coffee black without sugar, but all I could taste was burnt beans. Almost killed the taste of the omelet. Get some decent, full city roast coffee and I'd give the place 5 stars for breakfast.

We had Sunday brunch with our entire family (9). The food and service was exceptional. They do not accept reservation, but for large group a phone call would certainly be appreciate. Try the Cuban omelet, great

The crab cakes Benedict and pumpkin pancakes are amazing and well worth the wait. You are part of the community when you eat here. Keven the owner is so helpful and friendly to out of towners with some great tips. Monument stack of pancakes are ginormous and sooo. Kids will love the hot cocoa as well as the fresh squeezed juices. Service is fast and friendly! Thanks for starting our mornings out great.
