So my cat cost me an additional 50 cents this morning..but more on that later.
Ever since moving to Santa Rosa, I have been in search of a 5 star bagel. Sadly, I have to yet find one that really blows me away. However it does appear there is a lack of bagel shops and it's something that us in East Santa Rosa sorely need.
Enter Grateful Bagel. Overall, a decent bagel that isn't overly chewy but something that a New Yorker wouldn't bother with. But for me, it does the trick, with enough flavor and plenty of flavor options that will keep me coming back.
A couple of drawbacks.
1. The staffing levels are pretty minimal, so if you are looking for a quick stop it will not happen.
2. Parking (this is where my cat comes in). During the week, the meters do not kick in until 10:00 AM, but my cat decided to sleep on me till 9:50 which meant I had to drop three quarters in the meter for just 30 minutes of parking which barely allows enough time to grab a bagel and walk over to Peet's.
But there are some good things too.
1. Friendly staff, even at their busiest they always have a good attitude and very welcoming.
2. Lots of delicious spread options.
Again, not completely blown away by Grateful Bagel, but it's good enough.
