"Hip Colorado-based, hotel-membership club Gravity Haus purchased the slope side Ptarmigan Inn and infused the 77-room property with a dose of cool (third-wave coffee, local craft brews, the latest gear rentals). By next season they'll have added their signature co-working space, gym, and locavore restaurant."

Charming and eclectic. The decor has obviously been updated several times over the years. And my own room was a mix of features and amenities spanning 4 or 5 decades. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I particularly enjoyed their bid to reduce waste with pump top soap, shampoo, and conditioner. The staff were amazing. If you're fortunate enough to meet Maggie, at the front desk; I found her to be witty, funny, and very kind. Definitely will stay again.

The girl with the pink hair who checked me in was amazing! She made a long travel day so much better. She was super friendly and made it a smooth process for me. She also gave some great dinner and camping recommendations in the area. Other than that, my bathroom was a bit dirty when I got there and somehow my reservation was lost midway through my stay. Overall, a good stay and the hot tub was nice.

Hidden in the hills. This quirky hotel has easy access to a cute little area of restaurants and common areas. It is right next to the gondolas. The decor is unique and fun. Front desk is informative and welcoming. The hot tub and pool is well kept and has great views.

The location is excellent. Literally a two minute walk down path to the base area. We also found the staff to be very friendly -- shout out to the bartender (I believe his name was JP?) in White Rabbit. Check in was pretty seamless. We echo some of the other reviewer comments. We were only staying for one night and paid a pretty reasonable rate. I would be bothered by paying high season rates for what you got in the room. While the renovation is cute, it felt a little slapdash and budget. The TV had basic - I mean basic - cable only and felt like it was from the 90s. The bed linens felt like a budget hotel. There was what felt like a pretty big depression in the floor. It feels like they took a pretty tired vintage hotel and slapped some cosmetic changes. We appreciated the noise machine and didn't have the issue that the room was loud that some others noted. Rooms are small. There was a fridge, which is nice. Again, not a problem for us for what we were there for and we weren't expecting a luxury hotel -- but nevertheless, could see irritation at paying a luxury price point.

We just finished up a weekend stay at the Gravity Haus Steamboat Springs. Upon check in we were given a room down on the 1st floor that was totally unacceptable. The girl at the front desk was a bit flustered when we came back up but eventually she found us an adequate room on the 3rd floor. The room was fine but opened up into the lobby. Very noisy but we did get a better room. The place is a bit run down and overpriced but we did enjoy our stay. The manager at the white rabbit was terrific. Another downer was the fact that they charged us $16/night to park in the parking lot without telling us, we found out a checkout. Not a bad place but not a good place either.

Google
Location is great, hotel is not. They put money into the main lobby and restaurant and left the rest of the hotel in shambles. The rooms are not clean, you can hear every little noise, AC is so freaking loud and I left sick (mold?) this hotel needs help! If you want to sleep and have a clean room, I’d find somewhere else to stay.

As a Gravity Haus member, I was excited to utilize member perks at this excellent ski in/ ski out location at steamboat. This hotel has been renovated and we had excellent food and drinks at the White rabbit Tavern. The rooms were clean and spacious. We had a slope side view. The coworker space is really a couple of phone booths in the lobby, so don’t plan to make significant use of those, but there is a lot of space in the coffee shop and restaurant area to work during the day if you are not skiing. Having the ski Butler on site is a huge advantage and the rental process was seamless. We had a little bit of an issue with check-in and checkout related to getting a pack and play for our infant and application of our free member nights. Overall, a decent experience but I think there are other better options for lodging in steamboat.

Google
Sink was leaking and they charged $16/night for parking which I apparently missed in the fine print and wasn’t told during checkin. That was a buzzkill knowing we could have just biked to the hotel from home to avoid that charge. Management wasn’t really understanding on that. They said to read the fine print next time… Really? That stung. All things considered The maid staff was wonderful. Friendly and joyful.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Gravity Haus Steamboat! It's listed as a three star hotel, and I would agree with that. We visited for an October wedding and the location of the hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's at the base of the mountain just off the gondola -- I imagine if you're here during the winter it's an ideal ski in - ski out spot. We had so much fun wandering the grounds, checking out the other resorts/restaurants, and petting all the cute dogs running along the grassy mountain base. The public area of the hotel is nice, but the rooms are outdated and tiny. The bathroom is little and home to the only mirror in the whole hotel room, so it makes getting ready with two people in a small place challenging. The beds and pillows aren't particularly comfortable either. The staff was wonderful though! My favorite employee was Cody, the manager's dog who was often working the front desk :) If you're coming to ski and not planning on spending much time in your room anyways, I think this is a great option. You can't get closer to the mountain!

Yelp
The service is great, but the building itself is ancient. So ancient they had to pipe in power and internet from the hallway I to each room. Every door slams, no hydraulic dampeners. Doors so old they have a drilled in cover for where the locks used to be. The place is so loud they just have a bucket of earplugs sitting out at the front desk. I still felt every door slam and vibration with my body instead of my ears. Oh, and the mattress has a half size box spring and is too soft for back support. The water pressure is poor, and the room is small. I have heard a dozen door slams just while writing this.

Yelp
The place should be torn down! Small dingy room, bathroom so small door does not shut. Staff was rude, bed was a marshmallow no support. No one cleaned our room. Would never stay there or recommend to anyone

Yelp
Ok, not the nicest hotel on the Mtn, as their sister hotels in Breckenridge or vail location which are amazing, the rooms literally need to be blown up and renovated. The service is what get 4 star. Calvin the bartender is a gem, he handled a full bar on March madness final four night like a champ! So calm, so professional. Made great drinks. He knows his menus, great recommendations, with that said, great wings, Bolognese, ceaser salad, espresso Martini, great tequila options... Now Calvin the doggie mascot and his owner at the front desk, equally very helpful and hospitable. There was another gentleman at the front desk with long dark hair who was so nice and a lady with longer blondish hair. Also good ski in out location but they could put a little love into the area where u come off the mountain, little muddy and make the deck more appealing. Update this, keep your amazing team, and chefs

Yelp
Very convenient location and comfortable beds. However, for how this place is depicted online and the price, it was not what I was expecting. Online makes this place look like a nicer boutique hotel, but in reality it looks like they just added new paint and wall paper to what was an older motel. The room was much more basic in person than what the pictures show online. The shower pressure was extremely low and overall the bathroom was small. There's no restaurant on site but they did have a small coffee shop that did give complimentary coffee. I would recommend this place if you're just planning a short stay or get a great deal.

Yelp
BED BUG BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!! we stayed here and before going to bed we noticed bed begs crawling on the pillows, absolutely disgusting. We now have to ruin all our clothes because washing and drying them in high heat will shrink them. Would not stay here, staff seemed like they didn't care.

Yelp
The best location for a stay in Steamboat. You can quite literally ski down to the main gondola from this spot! What really makes this place extra special is the service staff. Russell was an absolute pleasure to talk with during our visit and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. His right hand, man Calvin, the corgi was absolutely adorable and made gravity haus feel like a home!

Yelp
Stayed overnight for a quick trip. Came into town with my father who's a veteran & he was very eager to stay on the mountain. Unfortunately this location is pretty difficult to spot as it's off the main road & behind a (condo?) complex. Check in was easy, guy working the front desk was nice, hospitable, & probably the peak of our stay. We asked how difficult it is to get to our room & he was honest about the property being a maze & difficult, but there is an elevator we can use since there's 2 flights of stairs for every floor. Found the elevator, but the doors open in multiple directions & are labeled differently than the floor numbers, so my father was immediately confused. We went to the lowest level where we thought our room was, & found out we had to walk down another flight of stairs with our luggage. My father's knee gave out on the staircase & nearly fell face first into the wall. We FINALLY made it to our room after what felt like we had traveled through the entire hotel. We get in the room & pops needed the bathroom. Unfortunately the toilet is small, low, and directly next to the wall & all of those factors made it difficult for him to use. Again, he's a disabled veteran with a can-do attitude & he was beyond frustrated at this point. I'll say this on the remodel: they gave it the classic corporate remodel- just a step above the landlord remodel. Everything has fresh wallpaper. Everything. I haven't seen wallpaper intentionally put into a bathroom in my lifetime, but boy that decision was made here. The room did have a balcony which was nice to overlook the plaza area to (I believe) the west of the property. Only issue with the balcony is that the door was very hard to latch shut once opened. If you don't deadbolt it- the balcony door would swing open even if the door handle lock was used. The AC worked which was a blessing, but there was no air circulation in the room & consequently I got up 3x to adjust the temperature lower. Notice how I said got up & not woke up? Yeah the pillows were nice, but the bed was like laying on lumpy uneven springs. It's a running joke that I'm known to be able to sleep anywhere, & I could not get any rest here. 2 stars are ONLY for the worker who checked us in, he did his job & was hospitable & recommended local food spots. The company who bought this ancient shack did not do their jobs especially for the premium they are expecting AND A RESORT FEE ON TOP?? HOW?? RESORT WHERE??!

Yelp
This is quite possibly the worst hotel i have been:. Service great .. general attraction zero . If you want to pay to stay in a youth hostel. This is it

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Worst I've ever seen. Rude employees. Restaurant and coffee staff are rude and slow. Will never return to this place.

Yelp
On Feb 18, I booked a room at the Gravity Haus hotel for the end of April in order to attend a Celebration of Life for a dear friend. March 30, I get a call from Gravity Haus cancelling my reservation because the "entire hotel" had been let to a fraternity for a party. They claimed it had been booked a year in advance. I cannot believe it, because we immediately got on line and were able to book a room AT THE SAME PLACE for twice the price. I will never give business to a place run so shoddily. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
very poor service, no robs, not enough towels by hot tub, house keeping skipped a day of 6 day, bathroom only shower works, faucet not working for tub bath, hotel personal only said "sorry". not enough towels for the room for 2 guests, no refill on body soap, would not stay here again not going to recommend it, not worth the dollars I paid for this room.

Yelp
Clean! Conscientious staff. Comfy beds. Fun atmosphere. Would definitely stay again. Lacking enough mirrors for two people to get ready at the same time. No full length mirror, important for business dressing, weddings, etc. Room w two queens a bit crowded; not really enough room for suitcases. BUT, clean!!! Reasonably priced for the area. Would stay again.
